A powerful, emotional, and beautifully written Romantasy!
Fostering Worlds by Jolene Fine completely swept me away. The worldbuilding is stunning, the writing rich with meaning, and the “lovers to enemies” theme absolutely tore at my heart. Even without spice, the story burns with emotion and purpose. ’ll be honest—I wanted Awry to take over the universe! She gave me total Lilith vibes, and I loved every moment she was on the page. And when Eshe finally found her voice and stood up to Magnar, I actually cheered. It’s rare to find a romantasy that balances faith, love, and cosmic stakes so beautifully. Fostering Worlds is unforgettable! It’s poetic, tragic, and deeply moving.

This standalone story takes place before the Fostering Worlds series and focuses on the god, goddess, and their children before the events of the main story unfold. The characters grapple with their faith as they begin questioning the decisions their father makes, leading to deep emotional conflict. What I really enjoyed is how this book adds so much depth to the worldbuilding, giving us a richer understanding of how everything came to be in the series. It’s a fascinating prequel that really expands the foundation of the story.

This is a sci-fi fantasy about the light-born (angels) and the birth of demons in the universe. It's a very creative retelling of the war in heaven with a female villain, a ticking prophecy, and spirit animals.
