I found this book to be very quiet and wise. I related to a lot of the poems. The way thought and emotion were examined throughout was visceral. Some poems I ached after reading, some I laughed, and some I felt connected and less alone. Some themes I noticed were quietude, poetry as prayer, grief, invisibility, nostalgia, addiction/inheritance, death, and survival/witness.
