She had everything… until a stranger taught her how to take everything.
Alexa was raised to live soft; money in the bank, a family name that opened doors, and a future laid out clean. But none of that mattered once she crossed paths with Shaka, a hustler with money, muscle, and a taste for risk.
What started as lust turned to love, then flipped into survival. Shaka laced her with the scamming game, and Alexa got addicted to the rush—fake cards, fast plays, dirty money. The higher she climbed, the darker the fall got.
Because in the streets, nothing’s promised. Snakes move closer than friends. Blood spills quick. And the feds are always watching.
Now Alexa’s stuck between two lives, the good girl her family raised, and the woman the hustle created. But in a world where trust is deadly and money don’t sleep, she’ll find out the hard there are only two endings to this story. A cell—or a casket.
This book was recommended to me by another reader who knows I enjoy urban fiction, and I’m thankful for the suggestion. Alexa the Scammer is well-written, layered, and emotionally gripping. Alexa is a flawed but sympathetic character, and watching her get drawn into Shaka’s world is heartbreaking and compelling. The author captures the danger and uncertainty of this lifestyle without losing sight of the human side of the story. I’d happily recommend this book to anyone looking for a strong, fast-paced read.
