What happens when three sexy princes are dying to bring me to my knees? I turn the tables and leave them begging on their knees for me…
The three handsome royals are driving me out of my mind. Not only are they making my life miserable at the dragon riders’ academy, but some unexplainable force is pulling me to them.
All I want is to ride my dragon and become the warrior I need to be. But how am I supposed to do that when I’m being thwarted and distracted at every turn?
Fortunately for me, I know a thing or two about putting a man in his place. So these three can try their best, but they’re not going to beat me. Except, there’s more to the dragon riders’ academy than meets the eye, starting with the Hollowborn’s strange and unexpected message that I’m expected to deliver to the king. A message that may change the tide in the war between my people and our greatest enemy.
But will this change be for better or worse?

The dragonriders are back, and this installment to the series picks up where things left off! Harper has been “captured” or better yet caught by a Hollowborn. He has a proposition for the king, and Harper will be his messenger. Peace in exchange for information concerning the dragons. The male dragons to be precise. This is an offer that is hard to pass up as the males are becoming fewer and fewer. But with Harper’s “betrothed” en-route, and the three princes still refusing to stop being jerks...things are getting complicated fast. This book is a good addition to the series. Harper is struggling with her attractions to the jerk princes. But with the addition of her best friend to the story, he helps bring some much needed lightness to the story along with Harper’s dragon, Ebron. Arthur is a welcome addition to the series, and while it takes him a minute to build up to a confrontation with the princes, it is epicly worth it. LOL! Brace yourself for steamy as well. We get teased early in the book between Harper and one of the princes, but then things go forward full tilt and it is steamily delicious! LOL! Too bad it creates a bit of a rift between the brothers, but they’ll work through it. LOL! The only hang-up we had with this book was the ending. Sorry not sorry but you see it coming a mile away. I didn’t like the predictability. I wanted a twist or something that throw me into chaos like book one. This ending just...didn’t do that for me. Am I still looking to continue the series? Absolutely! I just want an ending that will leave me begging for more.
Spoilers! Don’t read further if you don’t want to know!
I enjoyed this book. As usual, Lacey puts out a series that has such fantastical worlds, it draws the reader s in like a moth to a flame. Everything else is just gravy.
I’m not a huge fan of the guys, they are brats. They seem to think they are gods gift to women, not realizing, the women that don’t fall at their feet are the kind of women they should want. The women that they sleep with, or hang, whatever they call it, only want them for their Princely status. They don’t care about the man inside, of their wants and needs. Harper realizes after spending time with them that, they didn’t have any kind relationship with their father besides driving into them that they needed to train to protect the world if they went to war, plus all the Princely duties. The king apparently led so many women on, thinking he would marry them and sweep them off their feet. Instead, he charmed enough ladies, that 3 women fell pregnant around the same time. He pit his sons against each other. It sounds like their mothers all declined in a way that most of them either shunned their boy, or died. They never really had a parental figure that loved them or cared for their wants and needs. They all wanted her to accept them as their fiancee while still maintaining that she’s not fit to be a dragon rider. Saying that she would be lucky to have them because they would make her a Princess. That she’s a lowborn peasant and elevating to Princess should make her happy. All Harper wants, is to be happy, safe and secure. Baring her breasts to the entire legion of dragon riders, punching her in the eye so hard she had a black eye for weeks. Talking down to her, telling her she’s not worthy of being a dragon rider because she didn’t train her whole life like they did to become a Dragon rider, she’s especially not worthy to have a Male Dragon. All these things are compounded into her every time they talk, they just pound her brain with negative talk about how she’s not good enough. Then, they find out that when a male dragon takes on mates, their riders all mate as well. It was an additional way for the guys to convince her to give up Ebron. They don’t understand that just because she didn’t train at the academy to be a dragon rider, doesn’t mean that she sat on her ass until she saved Ebron. She trained to be a healer, n her healing education is what allowed her to save Ebron from the Bonewyrms battle wounds. Ebron her dragon helps talk through her worries about the guys. Which helps as he also mind talks to them too, warning them about hurting her. Harper, realizing that she will end up marrying them because Ebron picked their female dragons as mates, gives her a bit more patience. After chatting with them, finally hearing that they had no male role model, let alone a female role model. She starts to ask questions about their childhood, comparing hers to theirs, how supportive parents look like, n growing up siblings that love each other. The guys only started getting along when she came along. They banded together to get rid of her, n then banded together when they admitted how much they wanted her. It sounds like that one day in the meadow has been the only time they let themselves be openly vulnerable. It allowed them to see what their lives could look like… so it’s an important turning point for them. It’s like a lightbulb clicked on. When the King announces he will agree to the peace treaty if the leader of the Hollowborn marries into his son’s marriage with the Female Dragon rider, Harper goes into a silent melt down n only her friend Arthur saw it. He got her to her room so she could fall apart without everyone seeing. Unfortunately the guys raced in, thinking jealous thoughts, but Arthur just clued them into realizing she’s a female. Being ordered to marry people she had no interest in, just because she’s the Female dragon rider everyone’s talking about. I figured something like this would happen. She did say the Hollowborn that saved her from the fall at the end of the last book, kissed her n she wasn’t disgusted by it. Then Ebron said his mating group doesn’t feel finished yet…. Her thoughts on the leader of the Hollowborn were confusing because she expected them not to have a soul but he acted like he was human or had human thoughts and behaviours. The king also admitted to the ball that the Hollowborn weren’t always the one to end their previous peace treaties. It was all leading to the marriage of the 3 half brother princes, the leader of the Hollowborn & the only Female dragon rider. Arthur pointed out to the guys that not only is she not happy about marrying the princes, that she’s been ordered to marry basically the king of boogie men. She’s overwhelmed, scared and backed into a corner with no safe way out. It’s at that moment they see Harper. Really see her. She puts on a brave face because she had too. Can’t wait for 3rd book
Ohhhhhh that cliffhanger! I so can’t wait for book 3! I hate doing this to myself in waiting for books to come out but I can’t help it reading your books the second I can get my hands on them, rather than holding off till a series is finished, I gobble it up immediately! I both curse and bless your creative genius because I hate waiting but love your writing so much which both is good for you to have as an author! I’m on pins and needles waiting for more to gobble up! I’m just glad there’s not a huge wait til book 3 because wowza that ending got me all crazy in the head for more!
A fantastic second book, picks straight up from the 1st books cliffhanger ending. Great storyline and another cliffhanger ending, which left me needing the next book now. Good character development and growth, we get to see a bit of the princes backgrounds which explains there previous behaviours. Nothing like jealousy and competition to make you realise your true feelings.
Oh boy! Things are heating up in more ways than one. Yes there’s the obvious the spice level is increasing. There’s also tensions mounting and some visitors from Harper’s hometown that cause some friction. I liked the narrative switching between Harper and the princes it gives more depth and insight to how all of them are faring. Gotta say the king is a tool of epic proportions sorry not sorry. Man oh man that ending!! Waiting for the next installment is gonna be rough!
You just had to end the book that way didn’t you! You sure know how to hook someone. So this book picks off where the last ended with Harper meeting the hollow born. Things have definitely started heating up between the characters, from both anger and from lust. Although I love seeing the characters building their relationship I really hope to see those men grovel after all the stuff they put her through. At the end we start back to where we left off, Harper meeting the leader of the hollowborn. What will his decision be? Accept the proposal, or end the peace before it’s even begun?
From the very first chapter, Court of Fury had me absolutely hooked. The mix of danger, desire, and dragon filled chaos created a story that pulled me in so hard I could not stop reading. The heroine is exactly the kind of character I love. She is confident, sharp tongued, and refuses to let anyone break her spirit. Watching her hold her own inside the brutal world of the dragon riders academy was thrilling, especially when she is forced to face not one but three infuriatingly magnetic princes.
The tension between her and the princes is flawless. They drive her mad, they push her, they challenge her in every possible way, yet there is this intense pull between them that crackles every time they share a scene. The attraction is undeniable, but the slow burn underneath the heat makes it even better. Every argument, every glare, every charged moment feels like it is wrapped in fire. The jealous, possessive energy from the princes had me grinning, and the heroine’s refusal to yield made the story even more addictive.
The academy itself is full of danger, secrets, and political tension, and the dragons add so much to the atmosphere. I loved the heroine’s determination to become the warrior she needs to be, even when she is blocked at every turn. And the twist with the Hollowborn’s message gave the story a deeper, more urgent layer. It raised the stakes beautifully and opened up the possibility of a major shift in the war. It left me desperate to see what happens next.
The heat levels are intense and written perfectly for this kind of story. Every moment of closeness between the heroine and her three princes feels both forbidden and inevitable. Their chemistry is wild, overwhelming, and impossible to tear your eyes away from.
Overall, Court of Fury delivers everything I want in high heat romantasy. A fierce heroine, infuriating but irresistible princes, a brutal academy, a world on the brink of war, and a romance that burns hotter with every page. I adored every second and cannot wait for the next instalment.
A phenomenal read from start to finish.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Court of Fury cranks the tension up even higher than book one especially between Harper and her three princes, Lucien, Gareth, and Alari. Their relationship is a storm of jealousy, competition, and slow building redemption, and this sequel delivers surprises that left me flipping pages long past bedtime. They still have a long journey ahead (and honestly, I’d welcome a little groveling from the princes before Harper gives out full forgiveness), but Andersen makes you want to believe in them.
One of my favorite parts of this installment was finally getting glimpses into the princes’ pasts. Their backstories add depth to their actions and missteps and suddenly their behavior makes a lot more sense. Nothing forces buried feelings to the surface faster than jealousy, and this book uses that to delicious effect.
But as much as I adore the romantic tension, Harper and Ebron completely own my heart. Their bond is unmatched. Ebron is the socially awkward, fiercely loyal dragon bestie I never knew I needed, and some of his lines easily became my favorite quotes in the entire story.
There are plenty of developments that kept things exciting, including Arthur’s Harper bestie his unexpected return. His friendship with Harper shines in this book, and watching the princes struggle with jealousy around him was downright hilarious. And Tesson? He finally gets the attention he deserves. I actually cackled during the ball scenes.
The King remains a mystery cold, calculating, and emotionally distant from his sons, yet also a shameless womanizer. I don’t know what Andersen is planning, but I’m suspicious.
And then…that ending. The hollow born’s shift in temperament and that final, chilling declaration? Let’s just say it left me staring at the last page in shock and whispering, “Oh no…this won’t end well for someone.”
📌 Voluntary review. No compensation just one reader who unexpectedly and wholeheartedly devoured this book.
What a stunner!! This book picks right up with the killer cliffhanger from book one, with Harper and the Hollowborn. Apparently, they can talk (shocker!) and Harper is to be the bringer of peace between her people and their sworn enemies. Charged with this new vital task, we see Harper carry this news back to the king - tensions rise between her and the princes at this new information.
The sparks definitely fly between the four of them at this newly charged reunion, what with the importance of the ball as well that is upcoming (the king is said to make an important announcement here). It is definitely amusing to see how the dynamic of these four change as Ebron continues to court his three lady dragons, making it harder to deny that Harper is destined to be with the three princes. There is a lot more heat and sexual tension that progresses in this book, all leading up to the pivotal ball where the king announces her betrothal to the princes (and an extra twist as well!!).
Without spoiling too much, this book is definitely a spicy page turner, picking up in heat and action from the events of the first book. Harper continues to stand her ground, learning more about what it means to be a rider, and how to navigate the princes. We do see some character growth from them too, as it is becoming more evident that the fate of these four is tied in more ways than one. We leave off on another absolute CLIFF hanger - I cannot wait to see how the next book picks up, and how Harper will get her way out of this dangerous situation!!!
Highly recommend, definitely more action-packed, and loved the character arcs and interactions (glad to see her ex-fiance get put in his place!). Anxiously waiting for the next book, I am rooting for Harper and her princes to work it out, and for this new mysterious suitor to hopefully find his way into the fold as well!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Court of Fury: Their Dragon Rider #2 by Lacey Cater Andersen was a phenomenal follow up to book 1. It picked up on the cliffhanger we were left on and immediately sucked me back into the world of dragons, princes, Hollowborn and an independent female dragon rider caught in the center. The Hollowborn offer a deal for peace, for Harper to deliver to the king. However the princes don't believe peace is possible. Tesson and Arthur show up bringing a whole new set of issues for Harper. When the king comes up with a counter offer that includes the leader of the Hollowborn marrying Harber alongside the princes things become even more tense. Can Harper find a way through and marry the princes and the unknown Hollowborn leader or is the only option left to run?
I loved this book just as much as the first. It's a fast paced read that I finished in under a day. Harper is still absolutely amazing. She's strong and independent yet also capable of softness and being vulnerable. I love how she challenges the men and sees things beyond the walls they've been forced to put up. There is quite a lot of character development as the men are forced to look at themselves. Arthur really brings a lot to the story letting the men see a different side to Harper and he's not afraid to speak his mind and stick up for Harper. We start to get some spice and if it's an indicator of what's to come. I am here for it! Once again we're left of an incredible cliffhanger and must wait for book 3.
If you enjoy romantasy with comedy, forced proximity, fate, dragons, enemies-to-lovers, why-choose, slow-burn with lots of tension and chemistry then Their Dragon Rider is a must read series and you will love book 2!
The cliffhangers will be the death of me, one of these days. In love with this world and the characters, it’s been a ride to see the character development of the princes. Especially *cough cough* Lucien. Though, I did see that particular development coming. However the rage the other princes had was only half expected. I did love the mix up with Arthur being her fiancé. It was amusing but also resulted in a reality check both the princes and Harper needed. Arthur is definitely wiser than he seems. Gareth is looking like he is going to be the hardest to reach his character growth, I think Alaric will be next. Alaric seems to be more level headed and while he is ruled by emotion SOMETIMES, he tends to lead with logic and thinking things through more clearly than the other 2. Gareth however is seemingly the most stubborn. Determined to stick with his personal views of right and wrong instead of listening and acknowledging what’s actually happening. Part of me has this small hope that Arthur ends up somehow bonding with a dragon and that dragon ends up being one of Ebrons mates. However I also kind of hope Harper gets to keep the best friend she’s had all her life as a rock to lean on, and nothing more. I was also quite thrilled to see Tesson get a reality check and bruised ego all in one shot. Especially with the way he decided to handle things. That cliffhanger though. I didn’t expect that one. And the wait til the next book is going to kill me. Turning the page and finding I had run out of book had panic slicing through me for a few seconds. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

This book is more like3.5 stars for me. It takes off right where book 2 finished and goes from the encounter with the Hollowborn back to the Dragon Academy and leading to another meeting with Hollowborn. Harper's position at the academy seems more secure and less like everyday torture, yet the princes still do not make it easy for her. As the story is more focused on the relationships than plot advancement, there is a lot of relationship drama involved. Bless everyone for Arthur and Ebron, who seem to be the only two males (man and dragon) with understanding and mature views of the world, because the rest is a lost cause. The princes are annoying brats, with overinflated egos, arrogant, immature, entitled, full of themselves, insufferable. Not even understanding why a woman would leave when you tell her that she "finally learned her place". Tesson is another lost cause, plus add violence and manhandling. And the king with his womanizer reputation and treatment of everyone around like his pawns, hidden behind smiles and enthusiasm I don't trust at all, is no better. With all the chest puffing and testosterone, I pity Harper for suffering this. She is way better character than they, yet I am also not too big a fan of "listening to your body more than your brain" and FMC having to fix all the men around her. Nevertheless, setup for book 3 looks good, we get to know the Hollowborn more I hope, and the characters will have to show their true colors :)
I truly couldn't put this book down. These characters really draw you in immediately. ESPECIALLY Harper!! The world building is beyond phenomenal, and a thrill to see as it expands ever so slowly. It was *definitely* not a boring read! Get ready for oodles of excitement and a few twists and turns along the way, oh and did I mention the DRAGONS? Who doesn't love dragons? Harper is a "unicorn" in this world, and you can bet that whatever happens won't go quite as expected. Nothing typically does with "unicorns". Good thing she has an overly protective dragon with her, and others on her side.
•Action packed •Slow burn •Multi POV •RH •Enemies to Lovers
Harper is a VERY strong FMC. She's brave, sassy, intelligent, resourceful, and takes no prisoners. She also has a huge heart. I basically want to be her bestie!!!
Who knew we'd get to see real growth from the three pompous princes 😉? I *actually* found myself cheering them on in certain scenes, and definitely by the end of the book. After that cliffy however, who knows what will happen? Buckle up everyone. I for one can't wait to see what beautiful havoc our genius Harper will cause in book two!! Bring it on 😉.
Some days, like today, I wish I could be more like Harper. Her whole personality is so refreshing. It’s not just about how she puts the Princes in their place, or how she keeps on fighting for the right to be a dragon rider. It’s about her moral compass, her ‘joie de vivre’, and her willigness to never give up on seeing the good in people. It’s as if her way of believing in herself transfers to believing just as much in others. I truly love that, and I love her for it as well.
This second book puts even more tension on the relationship between Harper and the three princes, with some surprising twists along the way. They still have a long way to go, but Harper finds a way to make even us readers believe in their redemption. I would suggest a bit of groveling before total forgiveness though. What I love most about this series, is the connection between Haper and her dragon. He’s like a socially awkward grandfather looking out for her, and some of the things he says are truly my favorite quotes in this book.
The cliffhanger at the end is one that will be hard to forget; we will finally learn more about the people these dragon riders have been fighting for so long… I can’t wait to see what book three will bring!
I could not put down Court of Fury. It was fantastic! Harper is the full package. Brave, smart, sassy, and funny, and now you can add wise to that list. Harper gains insight into the guys' lives and tries to offer them an alternative perspective. However, the princes are being stupidly stubborn about things. Things like dragon riding, Harper in general, and their enemy, the Hollowborn. It's like banging my head against the wall when it comes to them. They refuse to see things any other way. They improved a little but still have a lot of work to do. I'm still on the fence about them, but we'll see.
There were so many interesting developments. One being Arthur, making an unexpected appearance. I love his friendship with Harper, and it was showcased more in this one. The story about the ball game he and Harper played was the best thing EVER. I died laughing for a number of reasons. Things get interesting with the Hollowborn in the mix. Not much was revealed, but I do know that they aren't exactly who the Dravari painted them to be. I would love to know more. Lacey did me dirty. Things were getting really good, then bam, the end. Like, what!? I usually consider myself a patient person, but I need the next book right away. Please.
LCA knows how to write a romantasy! Holy moly. I loved the first book in this Dragon Rider series, but book 2? This was one amazing!
I really love Harper’s character – she is strong, knows what she wants to do, and doesn’t mind one bit telling off the three princes that are bound and determined to make her life miserable. After being briefly captured by the Shadowborn who tells her to give a message of possible peace between them to the king, Harper isn’t sure what to think about the Shadowborn – especially since he kissed her before throwing her off his bone wrym.
Waiting for the king to make his decision, the princes are against any kind of peace since it never lasts. When Harper’s ex-betrothed shows up with her bestie, Arthur, they don’t know what to make of Harper being so happy with Arthur and believe him to be the one she was going to marry. Arthur, who is an AWESOME best friend, gets in their face about how they treat her, making them rethink their stance.
When Harper goes to deliver the message after a fantastic night with Lucien, things don’t go exactly they way she had hoped they would… but can she and Ebron make it out alive???
We're back for book 2 were you are utterly pulled into the world of dragon-riders, royal intrigue, and impossible desires. The main character Harper is— fierce, determined, and resolutely independent — captured the heart as she strived to prove her worth among the dragon-riders’ academy, refusing to be defined by anyone else. What truly makes this book shine is the tangled, dangerous allure of the three princes Gareth, Lucian and Alaric. Each brings a different kind of tension: their arrogant confidence, their subtle power plays, their longing and secrets. Watching their interactions with our heroine—equal parts challenge, seduction, and rivalry—kept me breathlessly turning pages. I thoroughly enjoyed the heartfelt moment of peace all four enjoyed. And the deeper plot? Far beyond mere romance. The looming threat of war, the mysterious message from the Hollowborn, and the fate of kingdoms all added weight, danger, and urgency. The stakes are high, and they matter — not just for power, but for love, survival, and honor. By the end, I was cheering for justice, craving redemption, and aching for those complicated hearts to find peace. My only complaint is that Lacey continues to draw me in to one story after another and leaves me panting for more.
The second book of this series did not disappoint. I have not read a short release series before, but I love it. These books are short enough to read in one sitting, work you up to a pivotal moment, then leave you guessing and wanting more for a couple of weeks. It's really fun and such a great way to increase the intensity of the story. Another great aspect of the short release is you can clearly remember the details of the previous book when going into the next. I usually have to reread the previous book when a new book is released for a series. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does disrupt progress on my very long TBR list. As for this book, it has taken a surprising turn from book 1. The beginning is not at all what I was expecting and then the king goes and throws in another big twist. (Wow!) I love Harper. She is strong and does a great job of handling everything the princes throw her way. Those poor boys think they are tough, but she runs circles around them! I’m so excited to see how things play out in the next book. Based on the previous two, it should be delicious!
This book picks up right at the end of book 1. It focus’s on the relationships developing between Harper, Lucien, Gareth & Alaric. The king has been given a chance of peace between the Hallowborn & the Dravari, The King confuses me, he comes across as a cold hearted King, no love for his sons & a womaniser. But in the scenes with the king & him addressing his people he comes over as so joyful & just untrusting. He wants his sons to marry Harper, so her dragon will mate with his son’s dragons. Ebron kindly throws a spanner in the works by telling Harper that even though he wants to mate the princes Dragons his Harem is still not complete. The prince’s show a jealousy side in this story & it’s quite funny especially when they meet Arthur. Harper continues to be a strong & funny lead character. With some laugh out loud moments. I’m not 100% with the princes they start off plotting & then suddenly they change near the end of this book. Again it’s finishes off on a cliffhanger. Will be waiting on the next one.
Amazing, action packed, slow burn, RH, dragon riders and possible enemies to lovers? Oh my gosh you guys, this was an amazing follow-up where that cliffhanger really left me hanging. I have been so excited for part 2 and now am counting down days for part 3. End of book 1, Harper fell off her dragon into the arms of a Hallowborn....only, he was not at all like the dragon riders described. The Hallowborn make an offer, peace for information on male dragons, and Harper has to bring this deal back to the king. In the meantime, the princes are still being awful to her, her so-called fiancé hasn't gotten the message that the engagement has been called off, and Harper is feeling the pressure from her dragon to find mates. I love all the action Lacey packs into her books, and this one does not disappoint - except for that it ends! Another great cliffhanging ending and I'm tapping my foot and excited for book 3.
Fantastic second book, Harper is still an absolutely brilliant fmc. I am loving the way that she isn’t changing to accommodate the princes, it is they who must become better versions of themselves in order to win her over. Their jealousy surrounding Arthur was hilarious, and Tesson received the amount of attention he deserved. I outright cackled at the scenes between them all at the ball. I’m falling for Alaric, he seems to realise what Harper needs and wants to become worthy of her. I’ll admit to being quite shocked by Lucien’s actions. Gareth is still a jealous 🐓womble, but I think he’s getting there 🤔😉 Ebron’s summary of their characters was spot on ‘hot 💩💩💩’ I do love that dragon, he’s very pragmatic. The ending was a bit of a shock, the hollow-born’s character seemed totally different to their first encounter and with his declaration, you can tell that things are not going to end well, though I’m not entirely sure for whom. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️
Continuing to walk backwards while looking at them, I say, “Oh my, what a lucky lady I am. Three princes can’t control themselves around me. They want me so bad it hurts. However will they keep their pants on around me?” Then I trip on something behind me and fall back on my ass. Hard. “Oof.”
Honestly I'm loving this series it's such a quick fun read and it leaves me wanting the next story.
Book 2 finds us back with Harper who has had a conversation with the hollowborne who apparently want peace which the king will agree to with a stipulation of his own.
Ebron her dragon has decided the three dragons he wants are the prince's which means Harper will end up married to them .
Tesson on his way cause he won't accept that their engagement is over and three princes who are extremely jealous of her best friend thinking he is someone he isn't.
This book doesn't stop from the first chapter and then the last chapter just decides to throw you off a cliff.
Book 2 finds the Princes almost as clueless as they wow in book one. Luckily, Arthur comes around—unluckily he has Tesson with him. Together they bring enlightenment and trouble. Lots happens in book 2–including a stolen kiss from a someone very unexpected. I am usually a huge fan of the under-250-pages-books, but this is so good the wait between releases is killing me!
* The sexy scene between one of the princes and Harper is one of the hottest I’ve read in quite some time 🥵 Like way off the Scoville charts 🥵
Book two picks up right where book one left off. SO YOU MUST READ BOOK ONE FIRST.
This book focus’s a lot on the three princes and Harper’s relationship developing. They’re not there yet, but it’s getting better. Im actually starting to like them. Still need to grovel!! Im obsessed with Harper. She’s hilarious! Very witty and snarky.
Lots of drama and jealousy packed in this book. The king has been given a chance of peace between the Hallowborn & the Dravari. When Arthur, the BFF, shows up he just adds to the chaos. The guys are so jealous of him and it shows. The ex still doesn’t understand he’s a EX. I love Ebron. Can I keep him as my bestie, please? Ebron finally informs Harper that even though he wants to mate the princes Dragons, his Harem will still not be complete. Wonder who that last dragon/dragon rider be???
The cliffhanger for this one was HUGE! I cannot wait until book three is here!!
I really, really, really loved this book. The world, and the characters, everything pulled me in immediately, and I devoured it in one sitting. Lacey Anderson Carter knows how to write a story that hits all the emotional beats I want, and this one was no exception.
My only frustration (and it’s a big one) is how short the books are. The first two installments easily feel like they could be combined into ONE HALF of a standard full length novel. The quality is so high that it’s actually painful when the story ends so quickly. It’s like going to an incredibly fancy restaurant: the food is outstanding, the flavors are perfect, but the portions are so tiny that you leave still hungry. I always want more, soooo much more, because the storytelling is that good.
Amazing writing, incredible world, and characters I’m fully invested in. I just wish each book fed me a little longer.
So, I devoured this book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down! It picks up right where book 1 ends. Harper is to deliver a message to the king, which she does. I still don't trust the king, but I don't think he is as malicious as I was worried about from book 1. Though I know anything can happen. Tesson gets put in his place. I absolutely love Arthur. We don't see as much Roland in this book, but he is still running away. The princes are starting to open their eyes and hearts, though I still am angry with them. Harper needs to drop them all and just be with Arthur. I do hope the princes redeem themselves more in the next book. Harper is incredibly smart and strong. She is guarded and not making it easy for anyone. And of course, absolutely love Ebron still!! Cannot wait for book 3. Thankfully this cliffhanger didn't stress me out as much!
We continue where book 1 leaves off and the story just pulls you in quickly. The story had me hooked from the very first page. I was unable to put it down as I absolutely had to find out what happens. We have Harper coming into herself as a dragon rider as well as letting the princes know she is not one to be pushed around. They still have their stubborn ways about them that has you absolutely frustrated at them. There are some surprise visits that has you just smiling alongside of these amazing characters. There is not as much action in this one but I love that we get to learn more about our beautiful characters. The story is extremely well written and developed. It will have you super excited for the next book in the series after this cliffhanger at the end. Absolutely a fantastic read!!!!!
Holy moly I was not expecting that ending but man does it have me excited for the next book.
Harper is back trying to defend herself against three princes who disagree with her being with the male dragon & being at the academy.
The tension between all three of the men & Harper really hits an all time high especially when her best friend & her friend both show up. Gareth, Lucian, & Alaric are really pushing her last nerves.
But when their father, the King, reveals his plan for the proposed peace treaty with the Hollowborn, tensions rise even more.
The three Princes have to come to terms with their feelings for her. She has to come to terms with her feelings for them.
And everyone has to come to terms with the fact that there is nothing stopping the King from marrying her off.
I was definitely very invested in this follow & will be anxiously waiting for the next book.
