So much happened in this book (in a good way) that it didn’t feel as short as it actually was. I enjoyed every letter of it, and remembered why I liked this series and the Fated Mates series. (I took a break/skipped some books because I was overwhelmed with the amount of books that were released.)
Of the shifters in Wintermoon, the bears and wolves are my favorite. I just love how sweet they are and that they can’t go a moment without their mate. Granted, all of the shifters are like this and I’d consider these characteristics big ass red flags in reality, BUT I still love me some bear and wolf shifters. Gabriel is my overall favorite male character, but I think imma put Jabari up there as well. I really liked him.
Jabari is so adorable. He just wanted to be loved by Jackie, cater to her every desire, and make her happy. “Ready or Not” by After 7 perfectly describes Jabari. I’d also say “I Cry for You” by Jodeci does too, especially when Jackie is at the spa.
Jabari’s run-from-the-bear scene had me feeling so bad for him. I was all for Jackie running from her bear but when Jabari didn’t respond the way I thought he would, I was like “girl why would you do that to our man??!” 😂 However, when Jabari calmed down and his bear took over, I was back on board.
I really liked Jackie, too. She’s my favorite FMC in Wintermoon next to Ebony. I loved how independent and open she was and that she just wanted to fulfill her destiny and dreams. Jackie is also pretty funny. She had me literally laughing out loud sometimes.
And with all the warnings to Jabari to not sink the cruise ship, I just knew this 🥷🏾 was going to end up sinking the cruise ship. When he finally did it, I hollered 😂 His actions were justified so Kade couldn’t be too mad but every time she brought it up, I cackled lol.

My God, I have missed Wintermoon.
I’ve been so wrapped up in urban fiction lately that I forgot how magnetic Tessa Stone’s paranormal worlds are. And Snatching Jackie reminded me in 206 beautifully chaotic pages.
This time, we’re stepping into the Frost Clan, where Jabari — our last unmated bear — is barely holding onto his human side. His irritation with humans (honestly, valid) is pushing him closer to the edge, and Mother Kade (yes, our sheriff and forever problem-solver) sends him to work the Wintermoon Cruise as a distraction.
Then enters Jackie, and from page one, she’s that girl. Fashionable, ambitious, and at a crossroads — she’s ready for change but terrified of losing everything she’s built in Detroit. The way Tessa wrote her journey felt personal. Anyone who’s ever tied their worth to their work will feel Jackie.
And Jabari? When I tell you this man said, “If love means chaos, then so be it”? He meant it. This man sank a ship for his fated mate. SANK. A. SHIP. Tyrion’s over there burning down buildings, Jabari’s flooding oceans — y’all better stop playing with people’s fated mates before you end up on the missing list.
Tessa Stone gave us another dose of that addictive Wintermoon magic: humor, heart, heat, and a touch of “I’ll burn it all down for you” energy.

Loved this!
The stories from the Wintermoon universe have always been engaging, but the writing has gotten better each time. This was one of the perfect stories for me. I'm Black and non-binary, but move through the world as a Black woman so it always cheers my heart to read stories about us by us. This story was perfect for me because of the strength of Jackie's character and desires. I've always had that breadwinner mentality and it was lovely to see it here.
Jackie never lost herself and remained open to loving Jabari through some really crazy events. Jabari, even with his temper and naivete, still was earnest and emotionally intelligent to be a loving partner. I do enjoy stories where the leads, especially if they are M/F are equal or if the FMCs are the more dominant of the two. Dominant, not controlling or abusive. Relationships should really work based on the personalities of those within them and that's what I felt here. The love, consideration, lust they felt for each other and their aspirations was beautiful. I understand the history of all the shifters, but I'd love to see cameos of them in the future, with maybe Jabari occasionally holding culinary courses for the younger generation.

A DELIGHTFUL ADDITION TO THE WINTERMOON FAMILY…
More and more, the Wintermoon book series reminds me of Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians/Icehome series. The author has built an entire world of lovable and relatable characters who you root for and sincerely wish that their HEAs are indeed everlasting. In this book, we are introduced to bad boss babe Jackie, an entrepreneur/business owner who is self-confident with beauty and brains to match. When she decides to treat herself to a Wintermoon cruise, she encounters her fated mate, bear shifter Jabari. Jabari is a bit aimless and morose at the start of the novel because he is seeing the members of his clan all happily pair up and off with their mates while he is still waiting on his beloved. The instalove on Jabari’s part when he first sees Jackie is believable. Jackie’s reaction at being “claimed” by Jabari is hilarious and understandable. Although this is a Wintermoon short, this read substantially adds to the Wintermoon lore by having us revisit some of favorite characters, introducing us to some unforgettable new characters, and showing how the community has grown and changed as time goes on. And I firmly believe that running from your bear is a rite of passage that all bear shifter mates are damn lucky to participate in…😂

I will say Bear Shifters have it the easiest when it comes to getting their Fated Mate to comply. They also are the only ones not trying to change their mates allowing them to remain and do what it is they love not like the other shifters wanting them barefoot and pregnant the whole time. Jabari was a troubled bear not for the BS of humans and anyone standing in his way about anything. Though the events of how Jabari finds his mate is an event in itself I loved how he wanted to be everything for her. Jackie was an independent woman and believes in self-worth and pulling out the beauty in others as well as always being on point herself. Jabari and Kane’s back and forth along with Tristan was a great laugh and kept the book upbeat. Jackie and Jabari hit it off so smooth and effortless all while transitioning into their lives merging into one another’s. Jackie and Jabari give Gabriel an Olivia vibes iykyk. Bears like sex is all I can say so if you’re not into reading about it you might want to skip the bear shifter books but you’re missing out on some great love stories apart from it being a part of a great series. Jackie had your boy Jabai running from her lol. I loved it and really enjoyed this story.

I absolutely love the Wintermoon Shorts. She is so intentional with her writing, and it truly shows. I’ve been hooked since I read one of her books.
Jackie and Jabari’s love story is beautiful- it’s such a reminder that everything happens when it’s meant to. It may not be on our timeline, but it’s always right on time.
And can we talk about the men of Wintermoon? I love how they uplift and support their women-it’s everything! If you haven’t read these books yet, please do. I promise you will be just obsessed as I am!

Taming a bear
This was so good. I love the fact how he really tried to tame his bear for her. He really loved on her.Baby when his bear came out and put dude through all the floors of the ship after he threw him like he was a feather I wss cracking up. I loved how Jackie didn't want to be a homemaker but wanted to continue to build and uplift women especially women who are on the plus size and lack.confidence. We need that in real life. Jackie was able to.tame her bear by being who she is love that.

Jabari is the only single one in his clan and is getting tired of waiting on his mate. Hr is given the opportunity to be a chef on the cruise.
Jabari smells honey amd follows the scent until he finds Jackie. Their journey is not with out a bit of drama. But it is a great addition to the series.

Good Low Drama Paranormal

I enjoyed the storyline a lot. It was simple but spoke about curvy women in a positive light! I love how the shifter men are so swoony and devoted to their fated mates. Also the spice was really good and there was more than one scene too.

Lately I been feeling that all her books are short, not sure what it is about it. I did enjoy their love story, I like that Jackie was a plus size and what she was trying to accomplish for the community. I love the bear shifters, I wish we learned more about them and that we would of read more of Jackie integrating into their culture.
Overall, it was a cute story just felt like the plot was missing something.

Jabariiiii! I can't believe he's my new favorite Bear shifter. I just KNEW that Tristan couldn't be topped. Jabari was a such a sweetie. He needed a Jackie in his life, although I felt like home girl was a little mean to him sometimes. I loved the shift in dynamic (when Jackie broke Jabari's bear, I was thoroughly entertained!).

I really enjoyed Jackie and Jabari’s story, Jabari is a sweet and loving bear shifter ready to give Jackie the world. While Jackie was a little nervous about being stuck and not fulfilling her dreams on Wintermoon. But Jabari was making sure his mate was happy and was able to keep her dreams. I’m glad it all worked out in the end and they both got there happily ever after!

Tessa is gonna give you a good romance every single time. My favorite part of this one has to be the salon scene. Black women being Black women.

Boy oh boy those bear shifters, whoa. I enjoyed Jabari and Jackie's journey to their HEA. Jabari is crazy in love, and intent on making his mate happy. Jackie loves being loved by Jabari. She gives as good as she gets and Jabari loves her dominance. The two are good together.

Jabari was so clueless at times, but other times, he showered Jackie with so much love. He was truly grateful for his gift from fate. Jackie was so much story than she thought. I loved this story.

Jackie and Jabari, fun and sexy
I've enjoyed each of the Wintermoon couples. Jabari and Jackie are no different. Jabari's cluelessness was incredibly endearing. And Jackie's self-awareness is enviable. I loved seeing them get their happily ever after.
