Thank you LoveNotesPR and Sophie Snow for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Actual rating 4.5 ⭐️

I absolutely LOVED this book. Spicy or Sweet was definitely spicy and sooo sweet. The book was so well written like every one of Snow's books, I loved Noelle and Shay and their chemistry was incredible. The yearning, the angst, that perfect "fuck it" moment and the spice!!!

This book was exactly what I needed this Christmas season. It was cozy, heartwarming, entertaining, extremely spicy, and had wonderful Christmas vibes.

Noelle has fulfilled her dream of opening her own bakery in her hometown a year ago. But somehow, it's not quite what she imagined, and she's drowning in administrative work. And now, of all things, she's supposed to work with her competitor, Shay. Shay opened a patisserie shortly before Noelle and is a thorn in Noelle's side.

After the first chapter, I was hooked. I immediately took Noelle and Shay into my heart, even though I have to say that I couldn't understand Noelle's resentment towards Shay. Fortunately, it was quickly forgotten and things soon got very spicy. Wow, wow! The “spice” in the title of the book definitely lived up to its name, because there's a lot of it here.

I loved that the two of them were the total focus of the story. Yes, of course there was family, siblings, and friends, but still, there was rarely a chapter where the two of them didn't have a scene together. It was just great! I cheered them both on, and believe me, at some points I would have loved to give them both a big push or pull their ears so they would finally talk to each other properly.

The age gap in the story wasn't just mentioned in passing, but explored in more depth. I could really relate to the struggles and thoughts, and I liked that it was talked about and not just dismissed with, “Oh, you're 17 years younger than me? No problem. I don't care about that at all.”

A beautiful and romantic book for the Christmas season or even afterwards. I loved every page and had a lot of fun reading the book as a buddy read with Luna.

If you want a fall, sapphic, small town romance then this is the book for you. ♥️🎀

The book follows Noelle and Shay who own bakeries. Noelle doesn't like Shay but she's forced to work with her on a movie project and we all know there's a fine line between hate and love. 🤭

I loved the cozy vibes from this and I'll definitely be reading the Christmas book in this series. 🙂🌸

Spicy and sweet was exactly what I got from this delicious sapphic romance. I can’t think of a more fitting title for what transpired here between Noelle and Shay. I loved them. Okay, yes, Noelle and Shay had chemistry in the bedroom…and on other surfaces, but they were always there when one needed the other. Moments when they were supportive, caring, and just downright cute. Make no mistake, because there were times when cute became scorching within a matter of minutes. So spicy.

It wasn’t a slow burn because they didn’t even wait for the oven to preheat, but the pace worked for them. I wished that they had communicated early on about the status of the relationship. On the one hand, I didn’t completely fault them for the fear of rejection from the person they were falling for, but on the other hand, I just wanted them to talk about it. I love age gap romances and this one did not disappoint. If anything, I appreciated that the gap was brought up throughout the book. Overall, I rooted for them to find their way, and I was happy with the result.

After reading this, I honestly don’t think I can look at baking the same way again, but that’s a problem for another day. If you’re looking for a sapphic romance that's heartwarming, christmassy, and very spicy, then I recommend giving this a read.

This was another great buddy read with Stuffl. Thanks for the laughs.

Spicy or Sweet by Sophie Snow Book Review/Notes

They say Cinnamon and Dairy don't mix well, but Cinnamon and Sugar sure do!
Spicy or Sweet is a Sapphic romance based in a small Christmas town called Wintermore! It's the second book in the series that follows Noelle, our purple haired, intimidating baker and Shay, our divorced, older hottie who specializes in French pastries. When a movie crew comes to town, not only do they want to use both bakeries to film in BUT, both bakers will make treats that will be featured in the movie.

INCOMING THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TROPE!! Oh to be a fly on the wall while watching these two bakers create sweet treats in a small basement kitchen. Not forgetting the fact that Noelle hates Shay's guts for stealing her dreams right from underneath her, all while Shay is hiding a crush on Noelle that she's too scared to unlock.

(Thoughts)
I think I've just discovered the perfect fall read!! There's a spicy and sweet mix from these characters that makes you yearn for more. Noelle and Shay's relationship is such a perfect example of a realistic age gap relationship. Nothing perfect but willing to learn each other's differences because their chemistry is something you can't let go of easily.

Gosh, I feel like falling in love again and maybe with someone 16 years older than me...And THANK GOODNESS there wasn't a third-act breakup scene. WE DON'T NEED THOSE EVERY TIME!!! Anywho, I loved the writing style so much! The only thing I would change is that the book isn't longer :(

Thank you Love Notes PR for this advanced copy!!!

(rounded up from 3.5)

This was cute, wholesome and very low angst. There's an age gap, two women who just can't have a conversation but it's sweet, very Christmassy, and cute.

This was my first book by the author, and it definitely won’t be the last.

What I liked:
- It felt like watching a Hallmark movie. The descriptions were so vivid that I felt like I was right there with the characters.
- I loved the cozy small-town vibe. That alone makes me want to continue the series.

What didn’t work for me:
- I didn’t feel connected to the characters. They were supposed to be older, but they came across as really juvenile. It felt off.
- I wish the movie aspect had been explored more. Everything about it moved way too fast.

Spicy or Sweet is book two in the Wintermore series.

I really enjoyed this sapphic small town romance! This book had me hooked! Shay moved to a small town to be closer to her brother. Noelle a rival baker seems to hate Shay. When they are forced to work together for a movie things begin to heat up and not just in the kitchen! This book did have me in my feels a little bit when Shay opened up about her past. I think this book was written well, and I enjoyed the characters and storyline. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this author. Although this is a series you can read this book as a stand alone.

Sweet or Spicy by Sophie Snow bakes up the perfect ratio of sweet and spicy in this delightful contemporary sapphic romance. It is steamy and sugary with a nice balance of funny and serious moments.
This book is my second read by the author, and both have been a hit with me. The writing style is entertaining and easy to read. The pacing and plot make it quick and satisfying.
I enjoy the main characters' vulnerability and gentleness with one another. Shay and Noelle's chemistry is fire. I also appreciate the gentle exploration of Shay's and Nico's grief.
The town of Wintermore, Wyoming, is a small mountain Christmas town, and the fall/autumn season adds to the cozy vibes. I absolutely love the imagery and the bakery/apartments setting. The description of Shay's apartment with the terrace is envy-inducing. Shay's cat is also a nice addition.
There is a strong family support system. The protagonists are older, with a notable age gap. The characters are likable and easy to cheer for.
There is a beautifully romantic rain scene with the main couple. I swooned.
I am a fan of Sophie Snow's sapphic romance novels. I have not read the others, but I will always be here for the WLW.

Thank you to Soph for asking me to be one of the Beta Readers as well as a ARC reader for Spicy or Sweet!

All Noelle Whitten had ever wanted was to open her own bakery in her hometown of Wintermore. However, when she finally gets everything she spent her life working towards, she finds that the reality of owning her own bakery is much more akin to a nightmare.

The Whitten family are legendary in Wintermore for their unending festive spirit, irrespective of whether it is May or November. Their legacy - in the form of the The Enchanted Workshop; the family toystore, is beloved to their small town and all who visit. This notoriety, inevitably comes with all manners of pressure for Noelle, who feels the weight of expectations as she struggles to live up to her family’s legacy.

When Shay Harland opens her Patisserie before her Bakery opens its doors; Noelle can’t help but loathe everything about her - simply for achieving HER dream before she had the chance.

Shay didn’t move to Wintermore with the expectation of making an enemy. Rather, she moved here to be closer to her brother - Nico, who moved to Wintermore in memory of their sister and her love of A Christmas Wish in the Mountains. After the death of their sister, their relationship became distant - Nico becoming a reclusive woodworker and Shay marrying a man she never truly loved. Despite the proximity of her sibling, she has never felt so lonely.

The only person Shay might possibly have something in common with, is Noelle. But for some reason she can’t stand to be in her presence.

When the mayor approaches them both - informing them that the film company responsible for A Christmas Wish in the Mountains, has approached her with the intent of filming a sequel in their small town, specifically their bakery and patisserie respectively- they’re forced to share a kitchen and work together to produce masterpieces for the set.

Proximity forces Noelle to face an undeniable attraction for the woman she made her own enemy, while Shay tries to come to terms with her own feelings for Noelle - a woman 16 years her junior. Despite initial hesitancy, their constant companionship and proximity and it isn’t long until they cannot help but act on their feelings. Regardless of proclamations of keeping it “casual” - soon it becomes anything but.

This book was EVERYTHING I hoped for and more. As a Christmas Girlie, who also loves the Autumn - I loved that this book adopted more of a Autumn Vibe. As someone who LOVES Gilmore Girls, this book felt like walking down Main Street in Stars Hollow.

Noelle is the type A, owner of The Enchanted Bakery. She has achieved her dream (albeit second) of opening her own bakery. Regardless, she has discovered that her dream is the source of all her stress and the expectations that come with owning and running her own bakery have sucked the love she has for baking, from the experience. These emotions lead her to feeling inadequate - which result in her creating an imaginary rivalry with Shay - who unbeknownst to her, craves her friendship.

Shay is the divorced, older woman with a heart of gold and the sweetest nature. She has recently opened Épices et Sucré - a French Patisserie and appears to have everything figured out. Despite this, she carries so much pain and trauma - feeling completely alone in the world; that is until Noelle and Croissant.

The cat distribution system was in work here - leading Shay to be adopted by a sweet baby - who she names CROISSANT!

Noella and Shay give off black cat/golden retriever energy in the best way possible. Their relationship is EVERYTHING. Their relationship was full of yearning and chemistry - their tension was palpable. It is undeniable that they both want each other desperately, but are avoiding it at all costs. I LOVED how they came together - a mistaken intervention of Sunny who swiped on the dating app was PERFECTION. The spice was perfection - particularly a particular scene involving a whisk and fresh whipped cream. Aside from this however, their friendship is something I loved most about their relationship. Their support, understanding and vulnerability with each other was beautiful and I loved their dynamic.

I especially loved how Noelle encourages(forces) Shay to watch Gilmore Girls with her.

Nico is Shay’s brother - a grumpy, reclusive wood carver who lives in the mountains. SInce the death of their sister, Nico has cut himself off from his family and isolated himself from everyone - including Shay. Despite Shay having moved to Wintermore after her divorce with the intent of reuniting with her brother and rebuilding their relationship, until this point she has had little success. He himself, having moved to Wintermore because it was the one place he felt closest to Georgie. That being said, Nico is fiercly protective of his sister and his love for her is evident from their first encounter on page. He shows his love and processes his grief through his carving. The scene of Nico rushing to town to ensure Shay was safe had me crying and every encounter between the siblings was raw and vulnerable. I cannot wait for Nico’s book!

We also got to see some of our favourites from Naughty or Nice - including Noelle’s parents (who are an absolute delight), but more specifically Henry and Rora - and their sweet baby, Sunny. I couldn’t help but smile at every interaction between Sunny and Noelle - their bond was so sweet.
In addition to Henry and Rora, we also get to see Felix, who has changed DRASTICALLY since Naughty or Nice (for the better).

Wintermore is my favourite small town setting! Think of the ideal cosy, Hallmark town - brimming with small town charm and festive magic. Wintermore is Christmas-obsessed - from the Toyshop owned by Noelle’s family to her very own bakery. I ADORE everything about this town and wish I lived there!

This series is my favourite of Sophie’s - which is saying a lot given I have adored everything she has written. As a fan from day one, I have lived and breathed every story and character, and with every book I say “this one is my favourite”, and I can confidently say that is true of Spicy and Sweet. The relationship between Noelle and Shay is tender and sweet - the story perfect for a Hallmark Fall/Christmas special.

I highly recommend to everyone looking for a cosy autumn read - with a cast of characters that feel like friends and a love story that inspires a playlist of Taylor Swift songs. MY FAVOURITE SAPPHIC ROMANCE EVER.

I adored this book! I knew, just from the cover and the character art, that I was going to enjoy it. I was invested from the first page all the way to the acknowledgements. It most definitely is just as its name says very sweet and quite spicy.

Noelle Whitten is 30, has her schedule and her life organized to a T, is finally living her dream of opening her own bakery but it’s much more difficult actually living it than dreaming about it and most definitely can’t stand Shay Harland. Shay Harland is 46, a ball of sunshine who moved to Wintermore four years ago to open a patisserie called Épices et Sucré (Spicy and Sweet) and doesn’t really understand why Noelle seems to hate her. When they’re forced to work together on a project, they quickly realize that sparks are flying and they’re getting to know each other better, but is it something casual or will it lead to something more?

Opposites attract but the chemistry was there from the start even during Noelle’s one sided rivalry with Shay. Some say there’s a fine line between hate and love. There’s a lot of tension, forced proximity and denial of feelings, a bit of a will they/won’t they and then it all just boils over. I thought it was so well done, if I could read this book again for the first time, I definitely would. I’d watch this on Hallmark, if it had a spicy channel, all Christmas long.

Sophie Snow’s sapphic stories are now an automatic must read for me.

Spicy or Sweet 🥧

Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Sophie Snow for trusting me with this ARC!

Noelle thought that continuing her family legacy would make her happy.
Shay thought that coming into the small town life will make her to be closer to her brother. However, when she realizes that things do not come this way, she tried to make friends, with the only person that had interests in common,Noelle, hating her.
However, they will have to share a kitchen due to a movie project.Only then,Noelle & Shay may understand that for happiness there is not a recipe, just the ingredients .

That was THE SEASONAL book for me.
Following a story in an atmosperic small town Snow made us feel like we were in Gilmore Girls again, while having some glimpses of x-mas,you know the time period that you are still very much in fall but Mariah Carey starts to defrost? That's what I am talking about.
The aura accompanied with good writing was marvelous and made get super invested not only in the romance part, but in the whole story in general.
An other aspect of the story that was so lovely to me,is that the author took us,literally, into the kitchen. We saw how all those goodies were made & almost tasted them through the pages.Like, you NEED a sweet treat while reading this story.🥐🍰🍪!

To continue with,I ADORED the romance!Lately,I am such a sucker for sapphic romances and when I see a good one..GIRL YOU GOT ME!
It was full of love & excitment while my girls were such a good pair together. They understood each other so well, while the mutual support in all kinds of problems & situations they had was so cute🥹.As individuals, they had so nteresting back stories, that will make you tear for sure.
One of them deals with grief, that is being potrayed so good.Particulary,it shows how life continues, but a small piece of you dies with your loved one.Such a heavy topic so please check the TWs 🧡.
My personal favourite was a detail that this book had AFTER the ending.-reading that I was like YES!I don't wanna spoil,so I wil leave it to findout yourselves <3
Long story short,it such a beautiful book, that gurantee 100% you will enjoy!

omg I loved thisssss!!!

This was such a nice journey, I absolutely adored Shay, she was soooo sweet all the time and she was carrying a lot inside, my girl🥹🥹. I loved the fact that she was 46 (I'm obsessed with older women if you can't tell). As for Noelle, my grumpy (only w Shay) lesbian, loved her too, and definitely I RELATE. The way she's always putting pressure on herself? Doing everything all the time so she doesn't have to think about anything else? That's literally me.
I enjoyed her one sided rivalry with Shay, but I enjoyed more when theey were both obsessed with each other AND NONE OF THEM WOULD SAY IT????? That's my type of romance book.

andddd definitely the age gap was what brought me here... loved it and how they managed it.

Sweet and Spicy ;)

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m going to have to look into more of their stories!

Fun sapphic (enemies one sided) rivals to lovers holidays all year round read!

Shay was a kind, warm yet lonely owner of a patisserie. Noelle, more recent owner of a busy bakery, despises Shay although it really has nothing to do with Shay.

When the mayor enlists them both to work together to help with a movie production, sparks fly but will they ignite feelings or blow a fuse? Read and find out!! Recommend!

What an amazing story!

I loved the tension between Noëlle and Shay.

Shay is discovering her sexuality while Noëlle is trying not to fall in love with Shay. I like to read their stories and how this will develop into a work relationship but also a real relationship together.

The small town where they're living is so cosy and warm, like I'm in the mood for Christmas now!

I received this ARC from LoveNotesPR in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this story pretty blind. The only thing I knew was that it was a sapphic age-gap romance.

Overall, I did think this was a cute, quick read. There was a depth to the characters that made their individual stories intriguing outside of their personal relationship with each other. I almost found their own journeys more compelling than the romance.

This being a quick read also means that the romance develops quickly. Personally, I am more of a slow-burning with yearning kind of reader when it comes to romance. So I will have to say this is why I didn't rate it higher.

I did get a little bogged down in some of the repetitiveness of the story. It was mentioned that Noelle's family and the town were huge fans of Christmas, a little too much for my taste.

Thank you again to LoveNotesPR and Sophie Snow for the opportunity to read this early.

Spice - 🌶🌶

Trope - sapphic romance, bisexual × lesbian, age gap, one-sided rivalry, panic attack, forced proximity, grief, grumpy × sunshine, slow burn, fall vibes, small town, workplace romance, spicy, no third-act break-up, HEA

Thank you, LoveNotesPR and Sophie, for the ARC. This was technically my first lesbian romance, if you don’t count fanfics and books from other platforms. It had its moments, and I enjoyed most of it.

The story was sweet and spicy, with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, though it felt more one-sided. It was cute and lovely; however, I felt that something was missing.

Regardless, I loved the chemistry between Shay and Noelle. They were opposites, yet they seemed perfect for each other. The "fuck it" moment was incredibly hot—I absolutely loved it! The yearning in the story had me going, another "AHHH!" moment! While the spicy scenes were good, I felt there was a slight lack of chemistry during them, but that might just be my perspective.

I appreciated how certain topics were addressed in the book and admired the way the author described each scene. The side characters were also well-written.

The ending was sweet, just like the couple.
I really enjoyed the story, but I ended up wanting more.
Overall,3.5/5.

Huge thanks to LoveNotesPR and Sophie Snow for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. 💌

4 ⭐️ I really wanted a wlw fall read and this was just was I was looking for! 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 level spice, one could argue the perfect amount scattered within!

Things that I loved. First, I actually loved the vulnerability Shay and Noelle showed each other. Even though they were nervous about sharing their feelings for each other, I really enjoyed how open they were about previous trauma and current issues.

Second, I LOVE the Gilmore girls annual rewatch. It’s a rite and a ritual for us fall girlies!! Third, the take on grief and the exploration Shay takes with it is beautiful!! I feel like grief is a tough subject to explore and Snow did a great job.

Truly I enjoyed it so much I didn’t want it to end. I really liked the characters and appreciated their dimension. I wish they had a bit more build up of tension and fluff chapters just so I could have of more time with the characters!

Would recommended for anyone looking for a spicy but cozy fall read especially if the sapphic variety.

📖 ARC Review

What to expect:
💖 Sapphic
🥰 Age Gap (30/46)
🤭 Forced Proximity
🏡 Small Town
🧡 No Third Act Breakup
🍂 Fall Vibes
🧁 Workplace Romance
🛡️ Rival Bakers (One Sided)

This is the second book in the Wintermore series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone. And let me tell you: I freaking loved it!

It was the perfect read to ease into fall—cozy, heartwarming, and full of small-town charm. It honestly gave major Stars Hollow vibes (which, IMO, is one of the best compliments a small-town romance can get).

I completely fell for Shay and Noelle. And honestly, Noelle’s right: no one’s perfect—and being Team Logan definitely proves it. 😂
But I already knew I’d love her. She’s an Aquarius and Team Jess, just like me. Clearly, we’re destined to get along.

It was so nice getting to see the Whitten family again, and I need Nico’s story ASAP. I think I’ve already fallen for him. Oh, and Felix? I want to know more about him too, please and thank you.

Thanks to the author and @lovenotes.pr for sending me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. 💌

Whenever I start a Sophie Snow book, I don't even have to finish the first page to know it is going to be a five star read. Spicy Or Sweet is the second book in the Wintermore universe (please go read Naughty Or Nice too!) and follows thirty-year-old Noelle, a baker who grew up in Wintermore, known for its love of Christmas and more recently, a Christmas movie that was filmed there.

Forty-six year old Shay opened her bakery after moving to Wintermore before Noelle got a chance to launch hers, unknowingly making herself Noelle's rival even though they both are popular eateries. Shay had her own reasons for moving there specifically due to something that happened in her past.

When the film team from the previous Christmas movie decide to shoot another movie in Wintermore and need both of the women's bakeries to use as sets, Noelle and Shay are forced to work together to create the bakes for the film.

This is an age gap romance which is beautiful as they go from (one-sided) rivalry to lovers but in true Sophie Snow fashion, you get hit with a wave of emotion and I needed to stop myself from crying in public, both of these instances coming in the form of lines from Shay's brother, Nico.

It is full of heart, the spice that Sophie writes incredibly and a gorgeous cast of characters that feel real.

A stunning read!

3.5⭐️ rounded up!

Spicy or Sweet eludes to exactly to what the title says: a sweet, cozy story that’s gets very spicy! Sophie Snow brought us back to the Christmas obsessed town of Wintermore to meet Shay and Noelle, two bakers with lots of untapped chemistry! This book had angst, tension, yearning, heat, and tenderness. I love that we got to explore what both FMCs were dealing with internally and how that played into the evolving of their relationship. They both had their hesitations with becoming more than kitchen companions, but it was obvious how perfect they were together once those reservations were smoothed over. I also loved the small town aspect and sense of community that is so heavily present in this book and series. Unfortunately, I did have some trouble really connecting with the characters and often times forgot about the age gap because it felt juvenile in some parts. I felt myself wanting a little more from this book, but I did enjoy it overall. It was a fun and sweet read great for the fall or winter season.

Thank you Love Notes PR & Sophie Snow for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Spicy or Sweet: We are back to the small town from Naughty or Nice, this time with bakers (one with a one sided rivalry). Shay is guarded but still never quite knew why Noelle seemed to dislike her so much until they are both forced to confront each other head on when their shops get turned into a temporary film location and they are hired to bake the props. Turns out they have more chemistry than what it takes to bake a pie 😏

Obviously I loved this. This series is totally of standalones but it’s very fun to see the lore continue to unfold. Nico I’m ready for you baby 😍 but anyway, back to this book. I enjoyed the relative low angst, there’s no third act breakup, but that there was still a bit for them to work through. Noelle’s feelings about her business and Shay’s whole reason for being in this town. And there’s still a very climatic (😉) scene that had me on the edge of my seat hoping they’d choose to be vulnerable with each other vs going back to the “safe” FWB shenanigans.

Also, I made the exact recipe for pie at the end and yes I did cut my finger but as a novice baker it was easy AND delicious 😋 thank you to the author for the eARC!

✨ ARC REVIEW ✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Sophie and Love Notes PR for the chance to read advanced reader copy of Spicy or Sweet by Sophie Snow.

This book was super easy to read, and I was very quick in finding myself invested in Noelle and Shay’s story. Whilst Noelle and Shay are the main characters within the book, the other characters are also explored briefly, and some parts did have me tearing up (especially towards the end!).

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sapphic romances. This time of year is the perfect time for it to be released come October 7th! It’s a cosy read, surrounding a small town who are Christmas OBSESSED, but the Christmas aspect isn’t “too much”. It’s just the right amount, around this time of year, but will also be a fantastic cosy Christmas read.

Would LOVE to hear more of Nico’s story at some point. He was definitely a fave character in this book (after Noelle, Shay, and Cat/Croissant, obviously).

Thanks again Sophie for the wonderful book, and for sharing Noelle and Shay’s story.

Sophie Snow is one of my auto-buy authors for a reason, and Spicy or Sweet just reinforced why! I was so excited for the chance to ARC read this sapphic romance, and it met all my expectations and then some. The title couldn’t be more fitting, and perfectly captures Shay and Noelle’s journey from rivals to lovers.

I adored watching their chemistry unfold, from the snarky tension to the irresistible “fuck it” moment that gets me every damn time! And the spice was the perfect mix of heat and heart. (I can honestly say after this book, I’ll never look at a whisk the same way again 👀)

Overall, this was such a fun, satisfying read that reminded me exactly why I love Sophie’s writing, and you can bet I’ll be adding it to my physical collection ASAP!

Thank you to the author for letting me be part of the ARC team!

i loved this!! baking is such a cozy hobby and their cute little town was just perfect for this. i loved both our main characters and them together was just so sweet, and SPICY good lord that whisk scene!? goddamn 🥵i absolutely melted every time noelle would call shay “sweetheart” and shay calling noelle mon délice, and every other time she spoke french i almost died. those kind of pet names are just🥰🥰
i love a good pet in a book, and croissant was so funny i just loved his cute little addition. shay’s backstory had me crying in a corner, i sobbed at the ending with nico guys 🥹😭

the few things that fell flat for me, was it felt the movie was very rushed, i would’ve liked to see more of that. and they went from not even being friends to more very fast for me.
also, shay having claustrophobia was a thing that one time in the pantry at the beginning when she had a panic attack, and then never again? it’s like it was forgotten about it entirely🤷🏻‍♀️ i would’ve liked to see more of noelle doing little things to help with that without realizing it personally.

overall, i still loved the book and plan on reading the first one sometime next month 👀

Well this took me on a ride. I loved revisiting this town and the other characters from Naughty or Nice. Noelle has the greatest parents ever!

Shay really brought the emotions with her past experiences. She was trying so hard to have the life she wanted and be the person she put on a shelf while she grieved.

Noelle…well it’s hard because she was someone who had lots of love and opportunities in her life so she can come across a bit arrogant and entitled. Her beef with Shay was immature for a 30 year old woman but we had to have something keeping them separate I guess. Noelle does show growth in realizing how getting her dream (and not blaming Shay for “stealing” it 🙄) did not in fact make her happy but was actually making her pretty insufferable. Which her family does point out after the fact.

The highlights for me were Noelle and Shay working together for the movie, Rora, Henry and Sunny (cutest family ever!) and freaking Nico! Ugh Shay and her brother finally working through some of their trauma was so heart wrenching in the best of ways. That bench scene 😭😭. I need a book for Nico, seriously!

Overall I enjoyed the vibes and atmosphere along with the sweet cozy story. Oh and Noelle has quite the collection of adult toys!

This is my first Sophie Snow book that I have read. I am so glad that I discovered Spicy or Sweet.Spicy or Sweet was a feel good, spicy 😉, age gap romance. It has very little angst and has a fall like feeling. It’s a very cozy and quick read. The spice is delicious and abundant.

Noelle and Shay are adorable together. While we get a lot of background into both main characters, I did feel like the depth of their characters could be fleshed out a little more. However, I enjoyed getting to know them both and while I’d like a little more depth, they are characters that are more than one dimensional.

I love that the age gap was discussed realtisically. I feel like not a whole lot of romance books do that. it was refreshing for the characters to have those conversations

I will definitely read the other sapphic story by Sophie Snow!

4.5 ⭐️

I love a good “f*ck it” moment, and this book didn’t disappoint. This is definitely not a book for those looking for a slow burn romance, but the speed the characters fell in love didn’t seem rushed to me - sometimes you just know when you’ve found your person, and that’s what I felt between Noelle & Shay.

Thank you Love Notes PR & Sophie Snow for choosing me for this ARC - I loved it 🥰
