Cybersecurity specialist Harper has recently been hired by the Moonstone pack’s corporate director to curtail any possible threats to their firewalls in this steamy shifter romance. When a breach occurs in pack territory away from Monster Island, a reluctant Harper must accompany Adrian, the very hot and maddening brother to the alpha.

After having endured a humiliating scandal involving his late father and his treacherous stepmother, Adrian has no interest whatsoever in finding a mate, but his wolf has other plans as he recognizes Harper as the person he’s drawn to, even though she’s human.

Traditional-leaning pack members are unhappy with the very idea of Harper as the mate to one of their alphas, and the breach goes far deeper than first feared.

Can Harper and Adrian’s nascent relationship endure the danger and scrutiny they face?

I received an advance reader copy from the author and booksprout, and I’m sharing my honest review.

This was a pleasant read.

It is exactly what it promises to be: a cozy monster romance with a clear beginning, middle, and end and sometimes that’s all a story really needs to work.

The plot flows well, with enough external conflict to keep things moving, and I appreciated that it wasn’t just romance floating in a vacuum.
The cyber-attack angle gives the story structure and purpose beyond attraction and fate.

What really made this book work for me, though, was Harper.

She’s smart, flawed, anxious, and very human.
She carries fears and limitations, but when it truly matters, she knows what she wants and she goes after it.
That quiet determination made her feel grounded and real, and it was refreshing to see a heroine who doesn’t lose herself when things get intense.

Adrian fits the possessive alpha mold, yes, but within the cozy monster romance frame, it works. Their dynamic balances well: growly wolf energy meets sharp intelligence and emotional honesty.

This isn’t a story trying to reinvent the genre.
It’s warm, spicy in a controlled way, and satisfying.
Comfort reading with teeth, and I mean that in the best possible sense.

A solid, enjoyable read that left me content.
And sometimes, that’s more than enough.

This was a fun, spicy, and edgy paranormal romance in which a werewolf gets his kitten.
Adrian and Harper were wonderful together. She was supportive, trying to adapt her analytical mind to the whole love and pack thing. When Adrian finally gave in, he was utterly devoted, and their love for each other was truly fervent.
This installment is connected to the Hot Wolf in the City book in this series, and also to the Fairhaven Falls series, which I also recommend reading. These are great reads! I RECOMMEND!

We're back in Moonstone Pack territory with the Alpha who fiercely controls himself and doesn't believe love is in the cards for him. BOY, is he wrong. As some backstory, Adrian's father mated with a toxic woman who stirred up multiple issues with the pack, was treacherous and conniving, and who delighted in all the chaos she caused. Adrian has valid reasons for being wary of relationships. Harper just happened to worm her way into his heart anyway.

Which isn't to say their coming together was easy. Adrian is closed off and wary. Harper keeps to herself and doesn't make friends, preferring her work to socializing. In other words, she's also closed off an wary. Given that everyone in her life has abandoned her, she also has reasons for her wariness. BUT...she's trying to open herself up to new possibilities. It's just not as easy as one might think when a person's default when things happen is to crawl into themselves so they don't get hurt.

That said, Harper has stepped out of her comfort zone by moving to Monster Island. She steps a little further out when she grudgingly agrees to upgrade the Pack infrastructure and bring them a little closer to the modern age. She takes that final step when she throws caution to the wind and decides to see where this zinging pull toward Adrian takes them. Of course, Adrian also has to throw caution to the wind in that regard, but he's battling his wolf on that one and his wolf REALLY wants to claim Harper as absolutely soon as possible.

A little tech talk, a elder council that's stuck in a rut, an Alpha who wants the best for his pack, and a lady who is calmly competent in all things (except interpersonal relationships). Wolves, YESSSSSS!

DNF. I made it about 34% into the book before I had to tap out. Honestly though I wanted to put this books down way before the 34% mark, but I really wanted to see how the books would panned out.

Couldn't get a feel for Harper's personality and the constant use of tech jargon became annoying. Believe me I work in STEM (specifically computer and scanner repairs) and deal with a plethora of other tech workers, we don't even use that much jargon when talking to each other.

Honey Phillips’s Hot Wolf in the Country is the cozy, crackling-fire romance your soul has been craving. This book masterfully blends the irresistible allure of a classic shifter romance with a warm, comforting "small town" vibe, it just happens to be a town full of monsters. The result is an utterly addictive, feel-good read that delivers on every promise of heat, heart, and humor.

The set-up is pure fun: Harper, a brilliant tech genius with pink hair and a workaholic streak, moves to Monster Island for a fresh start, only to find her new neighbor is the infuriatingly sexy Adrian Moonstone, Alpha of the local wolf pack. Phillips nails the chemistry from their first electric (and growly) encounter. Adrian is the epitome of the possessive, dominant hero, a "force of nature" who is equal parts exasperated and enthralled by this defiant human who dares to challenge him.

The classic “city girl vs. rugged country Alpha” trope gets a delightful supernatural twist. Adrian’s conviction that a “tiny human female” could never be his Luna wars deliciously with his wolf’s undeniable, fated pull toward her. Harper, for her part, is no damsel. Her intelligence is her superpower, and watching her use her tech genius to save the day and ultimately, Adrian’s pack is supremely satisfying. She’s a heroine you root for, a perfect blend of vulnerability and fierce independence.

The plot provides just the right amount of external tension with a cyber attack threatening the pack, forcing our protagonists into delicious forced proximity. As they work side by side, their “undeniable passion ignites” in scenes that are both sweet and wonderfully spicy, perfectly balancing the cozy and the steamy elements the genre promises.

Honey Phillips has a true gift for crafting a world that feels welcoming and whimsical. Monster Island is a character in itself, a place where the supernatural is simply everyday life. The supporting cast adds charm and depth, making you eager to visit this world again.

Perfect for fans of possessive heroes, smart heroines, and the magical “fated mates” bond, Hot Wolf in the Country is a standalone treat that wraps you up in a blanket of romantic escapism. It’s the literary equivalent of a perfect cup of cocoa, with a tantalizing, spicy kick. If you’re looking for a romance that will make you smile, sigh, and swoon, this is your next must-read. A howling good time!

Monster Island is the setting. This is the same place where Fairhaven Falls series, also by Honey Phillips, is set as well. That being said you don’t need to read the whole series. This book can be read on its own. It is an “open door” romance that is spicy, so it is intended for mature readers.

This is a sweet but spicy “all the feels” romance. The story centers around Harper, a human female tech genius, who is ordered to upgrade a local Wolfpack’s internet infrastructure. From her first glance, it is a mishmash of everything from duct tape, creative wiring and more. Harper works for the company “TalktoMe” whose CEO is Derek. His brother is Adrian - who also happens to be the Moonstone wolfpack’s grumpy Alpha.

Adrian realizes his pack needs help getting their internet capabilities to the 21st century without the use of duct tape. Of course, once Adrian meets Harper there are instant sparks of attraction on both sides. The author portrays a smart female lead in Harper, who despite her genius-level technology knowledge, still has issues on the social front. Adrian is a strong male lead who also shows his thoughtful side. Harper and Wolfpack leader Adrian have to navigate their difficult past dating and social experiences.

There’s a threat to the Wolfpack that they need to team up to solve. I won’t tell you about how they manage to do so as there are definitely unexpected twists to that.

Overall, the story is a great romance with a bit of spice thrown in. I love all of the characters and how they not only work together but care about each other in the process despite being a mix of species. Lose yourself in a fantastic romance. Definitely, definitely recommend. Honey Phillips’ books never disappoint and always have a HEA. I read this as an ARC, but in addition, I also purchased my own copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In Hot Wolf Country, Monster Island has become the new home for MFC Harper Bailey, a place where humans and monsters have learned to live and work together.
Hired to assist in overhauling TalkToMe’s cybersecurity infrastructure is just the type of challenge Harper thrives on because she’s good, very good at what she does, and code has always been her friend. Interacting with people and now monsters not so much.
When after an all night session of fine tuning algorithms she physically runs into the owners brother Adrian Moonstone, Alpha of the Moonstone pack his eyes suddenly flash a bright gold when they touch followed by strange erotic tingles…Uh Oh!
I think someone has just become someone’s Luna and Adrian’s wolf definitely seconds that motion.
Unfortunately Adrian chooses instead to put up a fight against nature by placing Harper in the distraction box which is a battle he is sure to lose especially after her next assignment soon becomes setting up his pack’s own security systems ahead of a business deal. Settle in for a wonderful shifter romance which I enjoyed and was filled with perfect writing, captivating characters, intrigue, personal vulnerability, danger, and passion which the author crafted into the perfect immersive, sweet story that will reach a happily ever after for Adrian and Harper after some tribulations but what an emotionally engaging journey it was!.

This is a fun paranormal shifter romance and sequel to Hot Wolf in the City. It could be read out of order with only minor spoilers.

Human FMC Harper is settling into her new job in cybersecurity of a tech company on Monster Island. She’s a workaholic who barely leaves the office and is very autistic coded. When her job sends her to the country to set up the network for the Moonstone pack, she meets Alpha MMC shifter Adrian, who takes a personal interest. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but they both have walls to work through first.

I really loved this book. I read it cover to cover and couldn’t put it down. I related a lot to the main characters, especially Harper, and enjoyed world-building with the pack in the country, as well as the cybersecurity aspects of her job. I had forgotten some details from the first book, but Phillips did a great job of recapping and weaving in the MMCs from that story, making it easy to follow along. I was glad to get this follow-up.

Overall, a great shifter romance sequel! While I wouldn’t mind another story set in this universe, this one wrapped up the duo’s story nicely.

Hot Wolf in the Country is book 2 in this series by Honey Phillips

Harper is a coding and cyber security genius. She is also a workaholic.  She hides behind her computer screens, rarely surfacing. Her tiny world is shaken when she collides, literally,  with Adrian Moonstone the Alpha of the Moonstone pack and Derek from book 1's brother.

Adrian has spent his adult life trying to hold his pack family together.  He runs a tight ship and never trusts women especially after everything that happened with his stepmother. But the pink haired Harper quickly proves she is more than he and his werewolf can resist but exactly what they needed.

Honey Phillips has become an automatic read author for me. Her Fairhaven Falls Series is an absolute delight.  This two book series is quite good. Harper is a fantastic FMC, she is brilliant, able to stand up for herself, yet vulnerable when she feels safe.  The chemistry between her and Adrian was perfect and there is humor and suspense as well.

Although this book could be read as a stand-alone,  I recommend reading it in order to get the most from the story.  I am confident in reading anything by this author and this was no exception.

ARC was provided by Booksprout,  and this is my honest review.

Honey Phillips definitely knows how to write heartwarming stories. I loved both Harper, with her defiance, smarts and being able to stand up for herself. Loved her analytical mind about everything. I also loved that she also sensed the bond between her and Adrian the alpha of the Moonstone pack. He's Derek's brother. We meet him in the first story Hot Wolf in the Town.
As with all alphas he is possessive and protective of his "mate". I loved that he excepts Harper even though she is human. I loved that he called her kitten, with claws and teeth. Being able to protect herself.
This is a stand alone story with a wonderful storyline. POV of each. Steam to the eventual romance. The worldbuilding was phenomenal. A splash of humor, especially their inner thoughts. And of course with all of her stories the HEA that deserves to be given.

Sweet, sexy, cute

A little under 2 years ago I read Hot Wolf in the City and loved it. I specifically remember saying I hope it didn’t remain a standalone (as it was part of a multi author series.
I am SOO glad she followed up with more and I hope we get more of this world. Cute, steamy, not a crazy level of conflict/angst, but some interesting plot lines and some satisfying follow up from book one. You don’t HAVE TO read book one first, but you won’t get nearly as much out of this without having read book one, so just do it, read book one first ok? Ok! Highly enjoyed and recommend everything Honey Phillips writes. Phillips can be counted on for solid writing, editing, flow, plots, characters that draw you in, and an overall reading experience that will have you coming back for more!

When a wolf gets a kitten of his own ❤️

“Now, if you’re done being noble and tortured, I have a security breach to trace and a pack to save. Unless you’d like to keep kissing me? Because I’m flexible.”

What a truly wonderful way to start 2026 - reading this smart, thoughtful, fun, and beautiful story that resonated in my heart. Brother of the TalkToMe CEO for whom she is newly hired as Computer Cybersecurity, Adrian has understandable trust issues after all that happened. So when his wolf declares Harper his fated fate, he fights it but the heart wants what the heart wants. The need is mutual, but there is danger afoot that threatens not only Adrian as the Alpha, but the Moonstone Pack as well.

If you have already read the first book in this series, you will recognize Derek's brother Adrian as the mmc in this book. Adrian, the very intense and serious Alpha of the Moonstone pack, literally runs into the fmc Harper, a cybersecurity expert who is trying to prove her worth through hard work at Derek's company. With some forced proximity, Adrian and Harper work through several trials (the computer kind and in-life kind) in their path to happily-ever-after. It's a slow burn story that felt more like edging, lol. But when it ignites, whew boy! They both experience a very well written character arc wherein they learn important information about themselves, each other, and the wider world. Another excellent book by Honey Phillips!!

Good Read

From the book cover I thought that this might be a light-hearted frivolous read but the cover was very deceptive. This was actually a mature work about two broken souls with serious trust issues and major cultural differences. Both the two main characters, Harper and Adrian, were amazingly crafted. Complex and strong yet vulnerable underneath the hard shells they had forged to keep from being hurt. I also liked the delve into the realm of corporate cybersecurity and forensics. I have family that was involved in that and it is a fascinating (as long as it doesn’t get too bogged down, lol!) and interesting field. Thankfully the author kept that part pertinent yet light enough to not let your eyes glaze over, lol! Overall, a very good read!

4.8⭐️ Finding a mate, even if you don’t want one, changes perspectives

I really enjoyed this werewolf romance. Honey Phillips does such a great job character-building. I really felt like I actually knew Harper & Adrian. Both have trauma in their past that shapes who they are & that they need to work through to find happiness with their fated mate. I’m not sure if Honey intended to write Harper with traits of someone on the spectrum, but that’s how I read Harper’s character & I loved her!
The story is super steamy with angst & a HEA. If you like steamy werewolf-human romances, give this one a read. I think you’ll really enjoy it, too!.

great Story

What a wonderful continuation of the Moonstone Pack. Harper is brilliant but she has grown up as an orphan shuffled between foster homes with no one to count on but herself which definitely makes her socially awkward.Adrian had to become Alpha of his pack when his father died and his older brother had moved away.pack life was not ideal because of his human stepmother so Adrian built many walls around his heart especially against human women.Harper and Adrian literally collided and their lives will never be the same again 🥰 you will definitely enjoy this read but I would suggest that you read “a Wolf in the City” first if you haven’t already read it they are definitely interconnected each stand alone but many characters are in both books❤️Enjoy

Outstanding And Fun Series Addition!

I loved this story! Harper is a tech genius dealing in cyber security at her new job on Monster Island, when she literally runs into her bosses alpha brother Adrian. His wolf feels the mate bond but because of his past he pushes it away ...... until he can't. I love how feisty and intelligent Harper is and how she pushes herself out of her comfort zone. They both have built walls that they need to let down but that only adds to the depth of the characters and the story. This is definitely a book I will want to read again and again because it's that good and it's one of those books that makes me happy when I read it. Excellent!

I absolutely loved this and couldn’t put the book down. Harper was hired by Derek to come to Monster Island to overhaul TalkToMe’s cybersecurity infrastructure. Harper knows code like no other but she’s never really belonged before. But Adrian, Derek’s brother and Alpha of the Moonstone pack runs into her things change a little bit. They’re both drawn to the other but Adrian fights it. He’s been burned by someone before and he can’t be distracted by a human now. But when his brother sends Harper to set up the moonstone pack’s network. Which means Harper and Adrian now have to work closely together.

Computer genius Harper has come to Monster Island hoping to start anew. She has always felt like an outsider and wants to change that. Her new boss sends her to the Moonstone pack to beef up their computer systems security. When she meets the pack Alpha Adrian, A wolf shifter, sparks fly between them. Adrian recognizes Harper as his fated mate. There are a lot of obstacles in their way to a happy ending. I love this couple.

Love this story!!! Harper is a cyber genius geek who has never really fit in anywhere and Adrian is the pack alpha who has been manipulated and burned by his stepmother and struggles to trust. They are also fated mates!!!! I loved watching them learn to trust each other and the bond they develop while fighting outside influences.

Although this follows Hot Wolf in the City and features characters from that book, it can be read as a standalone although it would help you understand Adrian even better if it had been read first.

I knew when we met Adrian in Hot Wolf In The City that I needed more of this damaged Alpha and OMG was I right! Adrian is everything an Alpha wolf should be..strong, smart, smexy and 100% dominant. Then there's Harper..introverted, ridiculously smart, stubborn and tough enough not to back down but also damaged. I loved watching the two of them grow and become even stronger together. I loved the mystery and the final confrontation. I flat out loved this book. It's Honey Phillips so i knew i would get a well written story with wonderful characters. Get it, you won't regret it. 5 stars

I know I sing Honey's praises all the time but this book absolutely melted my heart. The way that Honey created Adrian's character just resonated with me.

The emotional turmoil that develops throughout the story is captivating and powerful. The suspicion and deception that hovers over the pack unfolds to reveal harsh truths.

Adrian is by far the epitome of a strong Alpha leader 💜🔥

Amazing as always Honey. This is a page turner that I couldn't put down!.

From The City to The Country

It started with a meet/cute of her bumping into him. They both knew there was something there, but she ignored it until her boss requested her to straight out the clans cyber system. Their feelings grew until they couldn't resist the pull. After stopping a cyber attack, she found the guilty party, he neutralized the threat and they found their HEA. This was a good follow-up to "Hot Wolf in the City". Two brothers reconciling and finding their fated mates.

Reading this book was so much fun. I saw a little bit of myself in Harper, her awkwardness and shyness really resonated with me, and I felt instantly connected to her. And Adrian? Soooooo HOT. 🥵 No notes there.
It was pretty obvious that Elder Howard was the “mean guy,” but the twist at the end still managed to shake me. I really enjoyed the story overall, though some sentences felt a bit repetitive and I would’ve loved a little more spice 🌶️.
That said, it was a great read and an easy 4.5 stars for me!

Harper needs people

Harper is a very isolated and lonely person. When she accepted the new position she assumed everything was going to be different? Well it turns out maybe she should be trying harder or maybe going to her apartment more to start off with. However, when she bumps into Adrian things are going way different then she could have predicted. They have great chemistry, he is extremely broody, she is unreasonable and needs to start taking care of herself more but what they both have in common is the fact that they can’t keep their hands off of each other.

I actually liked this one even more than the first 🥰✨
The stakes felt much higher, and there were more plot points to keep things moving.

I also really enjoyed the character development. Even though it sometimes felt a bit glossed over (perhaps due to how short the story was), it was still genuinely heartwarming and satisfying to read 💫💖

Both characters came from complicated backgrounds and struggled to open up, but I loved how they chose each other anyway and decided they were enough together, creating their own happy ending 🥹✨

Such an exciting romance!
Oh, I love a story with a super smart, and sweet, heroine! Harper certainly fits the bill. She may not be comfortable with people, but she sure isn’t a doormat. I think Adrian is a perfect foil for her personality, and he’s patient. I love seeing her blossom as their relationship develops. The hunt for the cyber breach is exciting and the revelation astonishing. Romance, thrills, chills - it can’t be beat!

I really enjoyed this story and thought it worked well as a standalone since I haven't read Hot Wolf in the City yet (it is on my TBR List). This story revolves around Adrian & Harper and they make a really interesting couple that help each other work through each others trust issues to form a strong relationship by the end. The epilogue at the end was really sweet and I look forward to reading more about Derek and Julie's relationship in the first book.

Steam Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
