They say blood is thicker than water. But nothing runs thicker than my obsession with her.

Skylar wasn’t supposed to survive her trip to Colbert, the town that swallows outsiders whole.
Like so many before her, she was meant to vanish. Another victim of my family’s twisted business.

I wasn’t going to let that happen.
Not ever.

So as soon as she set foot here, I locked her in my basement.
Where she’s safe. Where she belongs.
Where I can protect what’s mine.

She can hate me. Fear me.
Resent the grotesque mask I wear.
Hell, she can even fight me.

But she’s never getting away.
Soon, she’ll understand that.
Her, and anyone who dares to try to take her from me...

Depravity is a dark, spicy horror romance set in rural America, featuring a masked antihero and the woman who falls for her captor. It’s a complete standalone with a guaranteed happily ever after. Please check my website for full content/trigger disclaimers.

So this baby was slightly inspired by Texas chainsaw and House of Wax. And I ate up all of it!! Its such a good Dark Horror Romance. I think Eva could've went darker. But maybe the world isnt ready for pitch black Eva lol. But cross fingers one day.

We have Knox who does the Tanning (Is that the right term?) for his family. Which is he skins them and makes stuff. His family owns a leather museum. This is sorta a front to lure people to the town. And his family has been doing it for decades. And... HES A VIRGIN!!! LETS ALL SCREAM!!!

Now enter Skylar who's on a road trip with her twin sister and her sisters boyfriend. The road trip is for visiting the boyfriends family but also for the two siblings to "bond" I dont wanna give more away. But let's say it wasn't for bonding.

When they get to town things are even more wired. Looks almost abandoned, her twin whining about things and this feeling someone is watching her. As for Knox he's already obessed with his girl. Making plans and executing how to make her stay without her being killed by his family and possibly looking for a way out for himself.

It picks up pretty fast after that the ambush, the killing and torture 😳 the should I like this monster or run away from him. The truth about the trip comes out. We watch them navigate how to survive and boy do they. And the spiceeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yummyyy its delicious sinful and bloody

Depraved is a tame word for what I just experienced😂😂. Eva! What in the fresh hell did I just read?! And WHY did I become completely consumed with Knox and Skylar’s love story?!

This horror romance is unlike anything I’ve ever read. I always think Eva can’t get more unhinged and dark with her stories and here she comes like she’s never come before writing another twisty psychological masterpiece. A horror romance where you fall in love with a man that SHOULD rot your soul and probably your eyeballs and where you also UNDERSTAND why the heroine fell for her captor. I mean what?!

Skylar was never supposed to live but Knox claimed her. He’s a real beast. Pitch black, unhinged and without morals or a conscience. He’s a monster in a mask, wields love/possession as a weapon and death is his foreplay. He’s obsessively vile and is NOT a hero. Don’t go into this story thinking he can be redeemed. However, he is Skylar’s. And well Skylar is his. And in some f*cked up way, it worked and was dare I say sweet🤷🏻‍♀️.

Skylar is a fascinating FMC. She’s logical and smart but her experience with Knox changes her in the most deeply traumatic ways. She’s no longer the woman that originally came to Colbert. Faced with the grotesque and violent atmosphere, she becomes a survivor and chooses life even at the cost of her soul.

Depravity was really very uncomfortable to read at times😂 but also incredibly thoughtful because it begs the question…what does a true monster look like and to what lengths would someone go to be with the one they love or in this case…own.

”You’re my favorite person.” His thumb brushes along my jaw, rough and smooth at the same time. “Only you. No one’s ever come close.”

“Wrong. I’m your favorite everything.“

Great read by Eva even if it definitely made me alarmed at myself that I enjoyed it haha.

✨I would like to thank Eva Marks for this arc.✨

Knox and Skylar were so precious🥹. Sure there were gore and very suspicious methods that Knox employs but listen he is a sweeetie pie. I love how Skylar found her strength and accepted her craziness. Anyways if you are looking for a horror romance I definitely recommend 🙂‍↕️

Depravity is not a dark romance you ease into. It drags you by the throat from the first page and never loosens its grip. From the opening chapter, Eva Marks makes it clear this story is about monstrosity, obsession, violence, and desire colliding so violently that love becomes indistinguishable from horror.
The novel opens in Knox Colbert’s POV, and it is immediately unsettling. He lives in a dying town where murder is industry, people are livestock, and human skin is turned into leather and sold across the country. This isn’t shock for shock’s sake — it establishes a world where morality never existed in the first place. Knox is surrounded by monsters, raised by them, shaped by them… and yet, he is bored. Detached. Wanting out. That desire to escape is what makes him dangerous in a different way than his family — because he can imagine something else.
Knox is one of the most disturbing MMCs in dark romance because he is self-aware. He knows what he is. He knows what he does. He knows he should feel guilt — and largely doesn’t. What separates him from his family is not morality, but possession. He doesn’t want to share. He doesn’t want chaos. He wants ownership.
Enter Skylar Evans.
Skylar’s POV is the perfect counterbalance. She is intelligent, introverted, scientifically minded, and deeply human. A future surgeon. A woman who believes in logic and reason, not intuition or fate — until she steps into Colbert. Her strained relationship with her twin sister, Bronwyn, adds an emotional vulnerability that makes Skylar desperate for connection, approval, and reconciliation. That emotional hunger becomes the crack Knox slips through.
Their first interactions are almost entirely sensory. Knox does not touch her at first — he smells her, watches her, stalks her. Skylar feels him before she ever sees him. The attraction isn’t romantic or sweet; it’s primal, terrifying, and involuntary. Her body responds before her mind can catch up, and that loss of control becomes one of the book’s most disturbing themes.
Knox’s obsession escalates quickly and unapologetically. He sabotages their escape. He orchestrates her captivity. He claims her openly in front of his family — not to protect her freedom, but to protect his ownership. His possessiveness is violent, jealous, and absolute. The sexual violence is not softened or reframed — consent is blurred, then shattered. Knox does not pretend to be a good man. He believes desire overrides refusal. He believes arousal equals consent. That belief is horrifying — and the book never excuses it.
What makes Depravity effective (and controversial) is that Skylar changes.
She does not remain the same woman who arrived in Texas. Exposure to violence, betrayal by her sister, and emotional bonding with her captor fractures her sense of self. Her survival instincts evolve into manipulation. Her fear becomes desire. Her jealousy becomes ownership. She begins to mirror Knox in ways that are deeply uncomfortable — especially when she participates in violence, not out of coercion, but out of jealousy and possessiveness.
The moment Skylar helps flesh Easton’s body is a turning point. It’s the line where the reader realizes she is no longer just surviving — she is crossing over. The horror of the scene isn’t just what’s happening, but how intimate it becomes. Violence becomes bonding. Murder becomes foreplay. Approval replaces morality.
The family dynamics amplify the dread. The Colberts are grotesque, but not cartoonish. Reese, the child, is especially chilling — a reminder that evil here is inherited and normalized. Jett represents unrestrained cruelty, and his eventual death feels inevitable, but not triumphant. Violence is never cathartic in this book — it’s transactional.
Knox’s care for Skylar is twisted but consistent. He feeds her, cleans her wounds, protects her from his family — not because he values her autonomy, but because she is his. His tenderness exists alongside threats of skinning her alive. That contradiction is the core of the book’s psychological horror.
The sexual content is extreme, graphic, and deliberately uncomfortable. Desire is intertwined with fear, degradation, and power imbalance. Skylar’s arousal does not negate her terror — the book forces the reader to sit with that contradiction instead of resolving it.
By the time Knox kills his family to escape with Skylar, the reader understands this is not a rescue. It is a choosing. Skylar is not freed — she aligns herself with Knox. The final scenes make it clear: they are not healed, redeemed, or safe. They are bound together by violence, obsession, and mutual destruction.

Final Thoughts
Depravity is true dark romance — brutal, disturbing, erotic, and morally corrosive. It does not ask the reader to forgive its characters. It asks whether love can exist when humanity is stripped away — and whether choosing a monster makes you one too.
This book is not for comfort readers. It is for readers who want to feel unsettled, conflicted, and haunted long after the last page.

Depravity by Eva Marks absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible, and I’m still not okay. Eva Marks never misses when she writes a book. And my sleep schedule is letting me know right now. Did I stay up all night reading the masterpiece YES I DID. Did I think I was going to love it as much as I actually did? No, but I LOVE BEING SURPRISED. From the moment you’re dropped into this book, you can feel the danger, the obsession, and that delicious sense that something is very, very wrong—and you’re going to love every second of it. This is horror romance done right, the kind that crawls under your skin and makes you question how fast you’d fall if a masked antihero decided you were his.
“They say blood is thicker than water, but nothing runs thicker than my obsession with her”—and trust me, you feel that line in your bones as you read. You watch Knox and Skylar spiral together through dual virgin tension, bl00d & kn!fe play, and when you Knox will literally burn the world for her, man o man! Knox has a devotion that’s unhinged in the most intoxicating way. I was horrified, fascinated, and emotionally attached all at once, especially as the breeding trope and possessive protection blurred the line between safety and captivity. Knox and Skylar don’t pretend this love is soft or healthy, and that honesty makes it hit harder. If you love your romance dark, masked, obsessive, and unapologetically depraved, this book will grab you by the throat and refuse to let go—and honestly, you won’t want it to.

Uhhh...I think I liked elements of this? The horror was honestly the best part, some of it was sickening and pulse pounding.

Unfortunately, a lot of the book just felt too slow and repetitive for me to enjoy, plus the romance just didn't feel right to me, and not because it was royally fucked up and, well, depraved, but because none of it felt meaningful or had any true connection. Despite the unconventional circumstances, I was still hoping for some sweeter, maybe deeper moments, instead it was all spice and insanity. I wasn't keen on any of the characters either.

It definitely was enjoyable in terms of being horrifying, twisted, dark and very, very smutty, but I personally just didn't click with the plot or romance.

3/5 🌟

4.5 rounded up!
This story is not for people with a weak stomach..:

I’m being a tad dramatic but also, not. There’s a lot of…flesh. I had to truly suspend reality and not apply real life emotions. Not because it was sad or scary, but because it truly makes you have feelings for someone you would hate irl.

Eva somehow makes readers emphasize with crazy unhinged characters, hell, even root for them. Because why was I like “come on, he’s not a bad guy” to a literal murdered? Yeah, crazy.

I don’t want to spoil a lot, I truly believe reading this with little context will make for a better experience, but you have to understand, it’s dark romance, with triggering topics and truly morally black characters.

That being said, Knox was one sexy mf. His obsession knew no bounds, his methods were over the top and his inexperience would not be an obstacle. This man truly gave psycho and wholesome vibes at the same time. He had the worst moral compass on earth, but then again, he only cared about her once he saw her, before he cared for no one…and upgrade? I admit he was stressing me for a second but I couldn’t resist his charm.

Skylar, baddie alert! She took one look at a leather museum and thought “fun” so she truly was to blame for everything that could happen at a place like that. Her kindness needed a readjustment and this place sure gave her the perspective. It gave her the opportunity to know herself, her limits and her deepest desires. She honestly surprised me with how resilient and proactive she was. I can’t say I liked her doubting moments, but I understand them. I loved how compassionate she was even at the end, but truly, some people deserve to die horrible deaths so….

Eva, I love your pitch black but still somehow romantic stories, I can’t wait what could possibly be next, but I’ll be there the second it’s out. Thank you for the opportunity to read this early, it truly feels me with glee!

Quotes:

Whether she likes it or not, Skylar Evans will be mine.

After last night, once the shock settled, I knew I was in too deep. I'm his. As harsh and as rough as he's been with me, my heart wants what it wants.

"Knox Colbert. You can't touch anyone else, dead or alive. You. Are. Mine."

THIS BOOK!!!!!!!🔥
From the very first page, this story is steeped in rawness, tension, and a dangerously addictive pull that only Eva Marks can deliver so flawlessly.

Knox Colbert is dark, complex, and unapologetically intense. He carries a morally gray presence that is both terrifying and irresistibly magnetic. There’s something lethal about him—not just in his actions, but in the way he commands every scene he’s in. His character unfolds slowly, revealing depth beneath the danger, and that slow reveal is one of the most compelling parts of this book. Every interaction involving Knox crackles with tension, and his connection with Skylar is equal parts consuming and intoxicating. Twisted, lethal, and devastatingly attractive—he is unforgettable.

Skylar Evans is an incredibly compelling FMC. She’s strong even when she doesn’t realize it yet—grounded, resilient, emotionally intelligent, and so easy to root for. Her transformation throughout the story is one of my favorite aspects of this book: watching her embrace her inner darkness, find her voice, and grow into herself was deeply satisfying. She feels real, layered, and emotionally rich, and I loved experiencing the story through her perspective. Her chemistry with Knox is instant and electric—beautiful, dangerous, and utterly addictive.

The relationship between Knox and Skylar is intense, raw, and layered with obsession, desire, and emotional depth. Every scene between them feels charged, impossible to look away from, and emotionally consuming. Eva Marks excels at writing connections that feel lethal and tender all at once, and Depravity is a perfect example of that mastery.

Dark, twisted, and sinfully delicious, Depravity is an emotionally gripping read that will haunt you long after the final page. If you love morally gray characters, high tension, and dark romance that digs under your skin—this book is absolutely unmissable!!!
YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO READ IT!!

Depravity isn’t just a story—it’s a descent into a world where obsession devours morality, and love is as dangerous as it is intoxicating.
From the first chilling moment, Knox’s feral need to possess Skylar consumes everything in its path.
Fear, desire and depravity collide in every scene, making your pulse pound and your stomach knot with delicious dread.

Every page is a plunge into obsession so wild you can’t look away.

Skylar wasn’t supposed to survive Colbert. Outsiders vanish, sometimes leaving only pieces behind, used for purposes so twisted they haunt you!
But Knox doesn’t just protect her—he owns her.
Locked in his basement, Skylar can scream, fight, curse him—but it won’t matter.
Knox’s obsession is savage.
His control is ruthless.
Every touch, every whispered command, every stolen moment blurs the lines between fright and passion.
Resistance only fuels him.
Reverence and forbidden lust intertwine until surrender becomes thrilling … inescapable… and astonishingly addictive.
And yet… Skylar falls for him (strangely so does the reader 👀)

Against every instinct, amidst the darkness, Skylar discovers a love as consuming, dangerous and unrelenting as Knox himself—a fire that binds them body and soul, in a world soaked with blood, obsession and depravity.
Knox is brutal. Skylar is fearless.
Together, they are unstoppable… and hauntingly unforgettable.

This standalone masterpiece delivers everything fans of dark, spicy, psychological romance crave… terror, passion and a love that bites back.
Dare to enter Knox and Skylar’s world. You’ll never leave… and you may not want to.

Depravity is...well...what can I say? It was too repetitive...the sex scenes were hot for such a level...if you are going for horror romance, might as well have had them have sex in the blood of Knox family but no...this is mild at the best and not mild in a nice way but mild in a...duhhh way. Actually... let's face it...this book is trash(in my own opinion) you telling me that a girl that has been a good freaking girl for the past twenty something years of her life wakes up one day, meets her soulmate and in two days...decides that she doesn't mind murdering her sister or the grandpa?
If the author had hinted that maybe Skylar...maybe...she had always had these dark thoughts within her and all...maybe, just maybe...it would have been okay but nothing...she has her intuition but refuses to believe it...instead choosing to see the good in every single person and alas...two days...the good girl went outside the window...and I thought Titanic was ridiculous? I apologize to Titanic...I was young and dumb
So as I was saying, okay Knox saw a picture on the Internet and yeah, fell in love...we have read of cases like that so I guess that's okay... honestly, even as I say that the novel is trash...the beginning is still...well...not bad
What I don't understand exactly is how the whole fucking book was a two days adventure...
Honestly speaking, Knox is well...not bad but Skylar...nope, nah, nah, no, zero, nil...nope, zero...
As a writer...This book isn't even in my top 200 best read...

ARC Review 📚

From the very first chapter I found myself in a mixture of "Texas Chainsaw" and "The Collector" added with spice and two characters graving the darkness of each other.
Knox is...kinda different from the rest of his family. The "business" his family runs, I think he doesn't "enjoys" it as much as his brother or even his sister. I think for him it is what it is. But somehow he's done. I felt like he was almost annoyed by doing the same job day by day. Until Skylar happens.
And she's so sweet, actually like every FMC written by Eva.
But deep down there is a part of her, that is fascinated and attracted by something that scares her at the same time. But in my opinion because she's scared of the depth of her own darkness.
But little does she knows that she is just a appendage for her sister and sisters boyfriend. That they actually had other plans for her but you know the drill. Of course the Colberts have other plans and Knox as well. He has different plans for Skylar and their "future".

So this book was not like the books I'm used to read by Eva. It was something new to me but I enjoyed every chapter of "Depravity"
It was the third time to ARC read one of her books and was a pleasure and an honour for me because, as you know, Eva is one of my favourite authors 🖤🫶🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book crawls under your skin and refuses to leave.

Eva Marks writes the kind of stories that make you deeply uncomfortable… and then dares you to keep reading. And you do. Not because it’s easy—but because it’s magnetic. She has an unsettling ability to pull empathy from places you didn’t realize you had, especially for characters who exist far outside any moral comfort zone.

This story is relentless. It doesn’t soften its edges or ask for forgiveness. It embraces obsession, control, and psychological darkness with full commitment, and somehow manages to lace it all with emotion that feels raw and disturbingly real. More than once, I caught myself defending actions I would normally condemn—and that realization alone speaks volumes about the power of Eva’s writing.

This isn’t just dark romance—it leans hard into horror territory, creating an atmosphere that feels heavy, suffocating, and addictive all at once. It’s the kind of book that makes you pause, shake your head, and then keep turning the page anyway because you have to know what comes next.

Eva Marks continues to raise the bar for herself with every release. This story is bold, uncompromising, and unforgettable. If you’re drawn to romances that live in the shadows, explore moral decay, and challenge your boundaries as a reader, this one will stay with you long after you finish it.

An easy five stars—and a reminder that Eva Marks is absolutely in a league of her own.

Depravity By Eva Mark ARC Review

This was an insane read but I really felt like this was a 5/5 star read for me I was so focused the aspect of his obsession that I felt like I couldn’t stop reading! I really loved how far along the lines the obsession went it was what made it feel so great to read!

I really loved how Knox was morally black, unhinged and was so possessive of Skylar it touched me in ways to see how deep his obsession and spiral I think it was something deeper than love for what he felt for her was so deep and unhinged and I loved it!

I’ve got to say that Skylar was a great main character I felt like she was perfectly written and the pacing kept the tension high between them it was so great to see the tension and the chemistry that was between them turn into something obsessive.

I really would advise anyone to read the trigger warnings before reading but for me it was superb and a fabulous read that delivered on the chemistry tension and plot that left feeling like this an a 10/10 read!

I enjoyed reading this and got to say I can’t wait to read what is coming next because I have a new obsession and it’s definitely this it was so good and I can’t wait to see what is coming next from Eve Marks!

Eva Marks does it every time, I go into one of her books & I become so interested in what’s happening that I forget the world around me. This one kept me on my toes that’s for sure, I learned so much in regard to living-hides & leather making. Knox is pretty messed up but even the crazy ones need love too & he met his forever the day she signed up to tour his families leather museum. Now this “museum”is unlike any other, you visit but you never leave at least not in the form you came in. Knox’s family is the only ones in this town & they survive off of their leather making business from living-hides. Skylar is truly one of a kind from her personality to her overall character, she knew deep down that Knox was her protector especially when it came to his family. Their relationship developed really quickly even for them to both be each other’s first, which poor Knox not knowing what a hymen was it had me giggling though. They throughly enjoyed each other throughout this book so don’t be shocked when things get bloody along with other things. I was a little shocked towards the end but I understood what had to be done. Overall excellent read definitely kept me intrigued throughout!

4.5⭐️ Texas Chainsaw Massacre with You level obsession.

Leatherface meets Joe Goldberg. That’s how I feel about this read. This book lives up to its title in every possible way. This is a fully unhinged, depraved love story that crawls under your skin and settles there. Nothing pretty. Nothing soft. Just 2 people consumed by each other in the darkest way.

If you think dual virgins = low spice… ohh you thought wrong. The tension between them is feral. Filthy. It’s not sweet or tentative. It’s raw, consuming and fueled by mutual hunger and shared darkness. It’s their shared depravity feeding into each other until it explodes. Like it was always meant to turn this way.

I don’t twitch easily when I read gore but this book got me. There were moments that made me physically react… and somehow, I loved every second of it. It’s disturbing, intense and unapologetically brutal in both love and obsession.

This book doesn’t ask permission. It dares you to stay and if depraved love stories are your thing, you won’t look away.

Disturbing, twisted and highly addictive.

BEST READ OF THE YEAR SO FAR!!!!!

Do you love horror + romances? Obsessed MMCs? Texas Chainsaw Mascara?!?!?!

THIS. IS. THE. BOOK. FOR. YOU!!!!!!!

I gobbled this book up IN A DAY!!! This book had me hooked right from the beginning. We are introduced to our two main leads: Skylar, the sweetheart <3 and Knox, an obsessed but quiet brooding hunk <3 The setting is VERY TCM, in the middle of nowhere Texas, with the perfect set up (and lots and lots of gore)! Just a heads up, Knox is cooked. He's a antihero, just thought you should know that :)

I won't give too much away, but this story is about the battle between Knox's absolutely cooked family and his devotion to Skylar from the second he saw her. She wasn't supposed to live, but you know what that means...........SHE'S HIS FINAL GIRLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

Honestly, this book has everything you need: horror, slow burn romance, masked antihero, unhinged and obsessed captor, HEA, strong characters that go through their own arcs, and lots and lots of gore and spice <3

Read it and thank me later <3 Also, CHECK TWs!!!!!

RAHHHHHHHHHHH. That’s now I need to start off this review because OH MY GOSH. The title is so fitting, BUT IN THE LITERAL BEST WAY. Brahms Heelshire meets Malachi Vize?? YEAHHHHH GIRL, TRUST ME I KNOW!! RUN DON’T WALK!!

The rawness, the tension, the suspense, the irresistible pull that Eva weaves into every single page is AMAZING!!

The relationship between Knox and Skylar is so raw, so intense, so dark, and wonderfully twisted, layered with desire, lethality, tenderness, and emotional depth. Knox Colbert is tall, dark, handsome, unhinged, and so morally grey. Skylar Evans is compelling, electric, beautiful, and so utterly addictive.

Depravity is a dark, contemporary, horror romance read with themes like; captive/captor, masked anti-hero, burn the world for her, an obsessive mmc, and our faveeeee touch her and die!

❗️This is a DARK HORROR ROMANCE READ! Please read the trigger warnings! This book is not for the faint of heart. Your mental health matters! ❗️

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I went into Depravity looking for something dark… and this book delivered darkness with a pulse. Eva Marks blends horror and romance in a way that feels unsettling, addictive, and impossible to stop reading. This story reads like Texas Chainsaw Massacre crossed with House of Wax — but wrapped in a twisted, romance-coded thread that keeps you emotionally hooked even when you should look away.

Skylar enters the isolated town of Colbert expecting nothing unusual, but the moment she steps in, she becomes a target. What she doesn’t expect is Knox — the masked, violent, morally black heir of a family built on blood. He’s terrifying, obsessive, and absolutely not the kind of man a logical, future surgeon like Skylar should fall for… and yet their connection is electric, disturbing, and strangely compelling.

The pacing is fast, the atmosphere is oppressive in all the right ways, and the gore isn’t softened — it’s central to the world and who Knox is. Skylar’s unraveling arc is one of the most fascinating parts of this book, and watching the line blur between fear, survival, and desire makes the story even more gripping.

This is not a comfort read. It is brutal, graphic, and morally black — but if you’re a horror romance reader who loves tension, violence, obsession, and flawed characters pushed to the edge, this book will absolutely consume you.

Content Warnings:
Heavy gore, graphic violence, captivity, torture, psychological trauma, and dark romance elements. Proceed with caution.

This book. Woaahhh. Its dark and depraved and wrong and gross and incredible! Lol. I know I know, I'm not sure how all of those fit together, but seriously. Eva's books are always so unhinged but I'm here for every single word. Every single page. Every single character.

Knox and his family are a breed of their own kind. And quite frankly, disturbing. Like utterly awful. Knox, now he's no saint by any means, but he's less awful than his family in his own ways. As soon as he sets his sights on Skylar, he's swooned and determined to have her...forever.

There were times I said what the eff out loud and times where I was like aw he does have a heart buried in there. Idk, this book had my head and heart twisting and turning on every single page. It was an intense ride, and that's a serious understatement.

Eva, again, idk what you put in these books, but darn am I obsessed haha.

I thought it would have been better than that, I feel that the story didn't make a lot of sense and was not very realistic.
There were too many cringe moments for me (she can feel him, smell him, hear his voice in her mind... and is in love with him practically on the spot), the FMC at the start is shown as very naive accepting everything from her sister, she wants to be a polite 'good girl' but then with the MMC she is questioning everything.
Don't want to spoil it so I will just say that 2/3 of the book is slow moving throughout the motion and 1/3 (the end) is chaotic and everything imaginable is happening then.

This story is dark and depraved and so good. Knox is completely obsessed but also completely devoted to Skylar. This one of the author's more twisted, unhinged story and it really takes you by the throat. It's a really well done erotic horror. Knox rescued Skylar in his own way and in doing so held her captive. What happens to Skylar whe she falls for her captor? I kind of loved that both main characters are inexperienced v!rgins, that's something you don't see a lot in dark romance. It was entertaining and interesting to see the explore that side together. This was a fantastic novel that I definitely enjoyed and recommend.

From the minute I picked up this book up I couldn’t put it down. This was my first horror romance read so I wasn’t sure what to expect and it did not disappoint, I was enthralled from start to finish.

Knox is complex, morally grey and is utterly obsessed the minute he sees Skylar and you just can’t help but root for him.

Skylar is strong and resilient I loved seeing her character develop throughout this book.

This book was so good, if you like:

Horror romance
Burn the world down for her
Br33ding

And more then I cannot recommend this book enough

Depravity is the kind of dark romance that leans fully into obsession, moral rot, and the unhinged certainty of a man who decides early that a woman is his and never wavers.

From the jump, this story is unsettling in the best way. The MMC is genuinely naïve about the world outside his twisted little bubble, and that innocence paired with his absolute insanity made him wildly compelling. He isn’t conflicted. He isn’t questioning himself. He’s sure. About her. About what she needs. About where she belongs. And that unwavering obsession is completely psychotic and completely addictive.

Skylar, meanwhile, is… not exactly built for survival. Her instincts are basically nonexistent, which had me internally screaming more than once, but at least she chose the right monster. And honestly? In a town like Colbert, that counts for something.

Also: her sister. Deserved everything she got. No notes.

What really worked for me was how early the MMC decides Skylar is his, before he even knows her. There’s something deeply disturbing and oddly romantic about that level of fixation, especially when the story doesn’t try to soften or justify it. He’s not pretending to be a good man. He’s just determined, devoted, and deeply unwell.

If you love:
• masked, obsessive MMCs
• captivity romance with horror vibes
• “he’s innocent but also completely feral” energy
• morally bankrupt devotion
• dark romance that doesn’t flinch

…this one delivers. It’s twisted, intense, and unapologetically depraved. If that’s your lane, you’re going to eat this up.
