For my September reading I chose to read "The Spirit of Leadership Cultivating the Attributes That Influence Human Action" By Myles Munroe. The book covers different myths and truths about leadership. He shows that leadership isn't a way of being taught but about how you view yourself and your way unique way of thinking can make you a leader. The author shows that anyone can be a leader. I felt the book was quite informative, it was a way of leadership that I had never really heard of before and I enjoied it as far as self-help books go. I felt that it was a little repetitive, have gave a lot of similar exsamples. However it was not enough to make it bad. I think I learned a lot from this book.
A spiritual approach to leadership unlike no other book I’ve read related to business. Munroe shows that the creator and the Bible give more advice on leadership and we have more power within, than we often think.
Key message of the book is that our thoughts create our realities. And that our attitudes are a key driver to our success.
Here are some of the gems that I have from the book. Nothing to spoil your appetite for this book though. Go ahead and read it for yourself and always remember to reread it.
- There is nothing as elusive as leadership. - You can inherit a fortune but never leadership. - Leadership is very hard to find lately.
5 star is not enough for this book it literally changed my whole attitude toward my self, others and life in general. It’s very simple to understand and yet very profound ideas in there.
This book shows that all humans were created to be leaders. It challenges us to develop the leadership spirit and serve humanity. It has a very different perspective from most other leadership views but it is a very refreshing view that we should embrace.
Great words and teaching from a powerful man of God. His knowledge and experience and his willingness to teach us is awesome. I have lot to wrap my mind around as an agent of change. Great book that will lead us into our leadership position that we were created to be.
