Trafficking mind-altering pills in a rental car with her longtime lover has become normal for 19-year-old Kirbie Amor Capelton. Almost too normal. And her disregard for speeding laws nearly costs her her freedom. The dream was never to be big in the drug game, but rather to transform her life's struggles into captivating music with hopes to parlay it into a successful singing career. Kirbie has never been more certain that she can pull it off; after all, her gutsy songs are adored by fans in several states across the country so far. The only problem is that people close to her have other plans for her life. Then there's the good-looking La'Renz "Buddy Rough" Taylor, who was once a multi-millionaire music mogul but is now a recently released felon with a failed record label. His goal is to rebuild his name and his career and become #1 again. But with a despicable, well-publicized past he's finding it difficult to move around in the industry and to secure talent willing to work with him again. Yet, all of this seems to change when he stumbles across a song performed by a young girl named Kirbie.

This is the 1st time reading a book by this author & I must say I'm shocked at the end the way things played out I do recommend this book to my friends so ready for part 2
God surely doesn't like haters and these characters took hating to a whole new level. Kirbie is a singer that's kind of gangster and doesn't like backing down much. I was mad with Coras because he had his reasons for keeping Monifa and Ashleigh around knowing his heart was elsewhere. Monifa's dumb behind was very petty. The comments Monifa would leave were uncalled for and her way of trying to keep Coras was beyond crazy. Ashleigh's hatred was a bit shocking and I was mad she neglected the opportunity presented to her for Kirbie. Then there's La'Renz whose hate for an old friend is causing him to come back on the scene with a vengeance. I was eager to learn more about his plea and just who was responsible for Jazzmine's demise. Archie took the cake with his hate. Since I already purchased part 2 it's time for me to see just how many more haters will come out. What will Kirbie do with the information she's just learned, will La'Renz finally get a hold of the talent he's seeking, will Coras finally realize it's time to follow his heart, what are Archie's motives, and will more be revealed about how La'Renz found himself caught up??
Kirby is a a up and coming artist trying to get discover in the music industry, she has the voice to get her where she needs to be but don't have the right people bagging her up. Her boyfriend Archie is a pill pushing junkie trying to keep Kirby from succeeding.
This was a good read, can't wait for the second part to be released.
Kirbie is doing a lot to try and help her music career to bad her boyfriend Archie won't support her dreams. Coras needs to man up and tell the woman he's in love how he feels and stop stringing the other 2 along
