Three psychic sisters taken from their abusive mother as children reunite at their grandmother’s funeral. They inherit the family fortune, including the old mansion on the river in Florida. The estate called River Oaks is haunted by the ghosts of ancestors and family slaves. Katarina, a teacher, lived on a ranch in Arizona. Her sisters and Boone Callahan, her grandmother’s attorney, help her through an unexpected pregnancy. Kat is attracted to Boone, but he keeps his distance until a boy shows up in his office claiming Boone is his father. Danny’s mother has been murdered, and Boone is afraid the killers will come after the boy. Boone hides Danny at River Oaks. While they’re there, Kat seduces Boone. Their affair grows into love, but he hates that she talks with ghosts and always seems to know what he’s thinking. And then the killers show up and try to take Danny.
I'm a grumpy old lady who lives with an even grumpier old man in a small town in Washington state. I have three grown children, all smarter and more successful than their mother, and one adorable grandson. My favorite kid!
I write mostly romantic suspense, women's fiction, and light paranormal romance novels. Although my plots get kind of involved and sometimes twisted at the end, I don't plot my books out before I start writing. I create characters, throw them into a situation, and let them lead the way. I'd like to think my characters are unique, yet familiar, people you'd like to get to know. People you can root for. People you'll remember after you finish reading the book.
I hope you enjoy reading my books. Please feel free to leave a comment or review.
Lat and Boone have been friends for over a year. They begin a romance that is Rocky from the beginning. Danny and Krissy add so much to the storyline. Krista with her sweet baby personality and Danny with his determination to make right decisions fix things.
Katarina is the second book in the Ghosts of River Oaks series. Katarina is the oldest of three girls with paranormal powers. In this book, Katarina has decided to stay at River Oaks with her sister Sabrina. She has met the man of her dreams, but he is worried about her powers and the ghosts. Boone, her love, soon finds out he has a son, whose mother was murdered. They both must cope with that surprise and with attempts on their lives. What follows, I won’t tell you but let me just say there were times I laughed, I cried, I wanted to scream and the hairs on my arms stood up. Sue Fineman writes a wonderful series about these sisters. There is a third sister, Gabriella, which I’m hoping will be out soon. Another wonderful read for those who like a little bit of a ghost story.
Wow, an amazing plot, along with great characters, I had a hard time putting down this book! I love old mansions described in stories, and how an author can describe all the little details in the design of the house, I imagine myself there, exploring it all through! Sue Fineman brings to live all her characters-the good and the bad, that you feel like you're right there, seeing and listening to all that is going on!
This book is a disappointing sequel to Sabrina. There were pages of explicit sex unnecessary to the plot development. I skipped those. The secondary characters of the fathers were not believable. Kat's father in particular lacked the development that would give his actions credibility. Danny, however, was well drawn and made the book worth reading. It seemed to me that the book may have been written too quickly. I will read the next book in the series in hope that this book is an abbertion.
Just as amazing as the first book, parts of it brought tears o my eyes will katarina and boo end up together or will the ghosts and is inability to see past it tear them apart? This story moves along at a good pace ,no slow boring parts.I loved it..
This is the second book of the river oaks series. Started with Sabrina and now katarina. Loved the problems they had and really love the ghosts. Can't wait for the 3rd one.
Read the first Sabrina, now Katarina, can't wait for the next one. Love this author's writing style keeps your interest want the story to continue maybe a surprise visit from Mama
I wannabe one of Sue Finemans characters. I love her books, her style, her everything, lol. Sorry I get kinda carried away after reading a good book. I'll be on a book high all day, lol.
