Sky's Guide To Falling In Love & Conjuring Magic

Rate this book
Sometimes the magic you’ve been waiting for has been inside you all along.

Skylar Reign finally feels like his life is coming together. His business is thriving, his found family has his back, and Kingston Porter—his grumpy, impossible, perfect, almost all the time boyfriend—has become the heartbeat of his days.

But when their dreamwalking journey twists into something darker and malicious, Sky learns that magic isn’t just for everyone else. It’s waking in him too—and it’s nothing like he expected. Wild. Demanding. Alive.

Kingston’s not sure which is watching Sky step into power he’s unsure of, or keeping his own feelings buried where they belong. But as new threats stir in Willowhope, both men will have to trust the bond between them… even if it changes everything.

Return to Willowhope, where the heart knows magic—and love is the spell that never fades.

In this 72K M/M Paranormal Romance, the HFN continues in a story of growth, courage, and a love worth conjuring.

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

Sky's Guide To Falling In Love & Conjuring Magic is the second book in the The Dreamwalkers series. In my opinion this series is best read in order. We are back for more adventures with Sky and King. This was another great story. I love both of the guys because they are not perfect. I loved watching these two work through their changing relationship. It is great seeing the found family at the Willowhope Manor grow and add new paranormals. I couldn't put this book down once I started it. I can't wait to see what Sammi Cee comes up with next for these two. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.

Really cheesy & there was two chapters that were word for word the same so desperately needed an editor. The storyline itself was pretty good though and I’m interested to know more about Booker. Really hoping for a great Ego & Scotty book.

This is book one in the author’s new Dreamwalkers series and features Sky and King; soulmates and relative newbies to the world of magic. Sky, thrilled to bits at finding he had magic was having a blast—planning picnics, flirting with his boyfriend, saving the occasional dreamer—you know, the usual. He was certain he really had that gig figured out! King however, wasn’t so sure. As the dreamwalker, he was responsible for destroying anything tormenting dreamers as they slept with Sky as his tether to the real world but everything seemed to be too easy… there had to be something they were missing. Thankfully they had a whole gaggle of ghosts and ‘others’ that had their backs as they fought an evil determined to break through the veil to the real world.

This was such a cool book! It offers a huge found family with secrets out the wazoo, a mystery, some suspense, one wigglingly happy golden retriever MMC and the other, shy and reserved and a whole host of other magic folks.

I haven’t read the Willowhope Manor Trilogy but I was able to follow along using context clues with no problem. No, I didn’t know everyone’s background but I still didn’t get lost so I think you can read it as a standalone just fine. After reading this series, if the remaining two are anything like this one, I’ll probably go back and read the trilogy. I may already know the outcome on some of it but that’s ok, I’m loving this one so far and I’d imagine the other one is just as fun. 4.5 stars

I adored the first Dreamwalkers book, so slipping back into Willowhope with Sky and King felt like returning to friends I wasn’t quite finished with—and this sequel absolutely delivered. Sky’s growth is one of my favourite parts of the series; seeing him step into magic he never expected to have, and watching him try to make sense of it with his usual blend of humour, anxiety, and heart, was genuinely brilliant.

King, meanwhile, continues to be the grumpiest softie imaginable, and the way he quietly shoulders far too much made my chest ache more than once. Their relationship isn’t neat or easy, but that’s exactly why I love them. This book really digs into how they adapt as both their bond and Sky’s abilities evolve, and it makes their connection feel even deeper.

The expanding cast at Willowhope Manor is another highlight—new paranormals, new mysteries, and that wonderful found-family warmth that threaded through the first book. The dreamwalking elements take a darker turn this time, and the tension kept me firmly glued to the pages.

A fantastic continuation that balances magic, emotion, danger, and romance beautifully. I am so eager to stay in this world and avidly await whatever comes next for Sky, King, and the rest of the Willowhope crew.

4.25/5 I enjoyed this more when Sky and King started finally learning (though it felt a bit like information overload), but I was still annoyed that the guides thought they needed to learn on their own and then got upset they weren’t learning with the speed they wanted. No, they don’t fully understand the gravity of the situation because *no one has explained it to them*. Ugh. Lol. But once they finally talked about it, I felt much better about it (and it seems there may be some valid plot points that also impacted things).

Scotty’s behaviours towards Ego really annoyed me, but in this book, it seemed to be more noticed by others that it wasn’t cool and Ego wasn’t really the problem. It’s pretty obviously set up for the future. I think it’ll help when we actually get to know Scotty at all.

I love Patchy the psychopomp, and as the book progressed, it felt like we were actually learning more about this world and how it worked, as well as assembling a cool Scooby gang. I liked getting people in on the secret and having everyone actually work together. That’s when it really felt like the book hit its stride to me.

There’s a resolution of this plot arc (and what seems like it could maybe be an HEA for Sky and King), but there’s a major plot hanger hook right at the end for the next book, so just be prepared for that.

I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.

Sky’s Guide to Falling in Love & Conjuring Magic has been one of the sweetest and most genuinely fun fantasies I’ve read in a long time. It has that perfect mix of warmth, humor, and magic that makes you feel at home from the very first chapter.
Its biggest strength —and the one that completely won me over— is the Found Family trope. The bond formed between the entire cast, ghosts and humans alike, is so tender and heartfelt that I constantly wanted to reach into the pages and hug them all. There’s something incredibly comforting in how they show up for each other, how they choose each other, and how their relationships become a safe haven.
And then there’s King and Sky. I adored watching them open up slowly, letting their fears slip through the cracks while still holding onto each other. Their dynamic feels soft, honest, and beautifully imperfect. Yes, the story has magic, romance, and humor —but it also carries this gentle sense of mystery that keeps you turning the pages, eager for just one more chapter.
It’s a story that wraps around you like a warm blanket: enchanting, wholesome, and full of heart. I closed it with a smile and a little ache, wishing I could spend more time with this chaotic, loving, magical family.

Well Sky and Kings life keeps on getting more interesting. Our little group has their growing pains in figuring out what is going on and how they will be able to balance their lives out. King doesn't want Sky to feel burdened so pushes away instead of embracing the beauty that it is to find your soul mate. This intern forces Sky to put his effort into just dreamwalking vs all the other parts of his life. When these two let the other in and allow themselves to open up the pieces begin to lay as they should have always been. The Willowhope Manor family continues to grow, becoming the safe haven for supes of all senses to come together and be accepted. Love that Sammi went with multiple POVs to show many sides of the story unfolding so when we go to someone else as the 'main' character you still stay inside the Willowhope umbrella. Now to end of a soft cliff is evil, yes you know what happens but come on! I need more now!

This book should not be read as a standalone you will miss out on what is going on to get us to the point of the world we are now at. It will take from the pure joy that is this found family.

Skylar Reign feels as if his life is finally on track. He has an amazing found family; is learning to control his new powers; and finally, almost has Kingston Porter as his partner in more way than one. King is also happy with his new life except for his struggles with Sky’s new powers and keeping him safe. Dreamwalking leads to many things – some good and some bad. One night they find an evil they must address. Their entire found family will need to help if they are to succeed.

The family you find in this story is amazing. They support each other and are not afraid to speak up and correct any one of them. They also have no problem keeping each other on task. The love developing between Sky and King is a work of art. It was amazing to read and it seems their family already knew what they realize themselves. This one had a touch of everything that makes the story so captivating. If you are looking for a story that has romance and some heat as well danger and suspense, oh, and let’s not forget the perfect touch of humor, look no further. This one fits the bill.

Sammi Cee brings up back to Willowhope in the most recent installment of the series. This book is the second book in the Dreamwalkers series. It picks up where the last one left off. Sky and King are trying to find their way around magic, dream walking, and falling in love. All while trying to save people in Willowhope from spirits haunting people in their dreams. I love all the characters in this series. They are all a beautiful found family of paranormal love.
I would definitely suggest reading the previous books in the series before reading this one. All of the characters in the previous books are featured in this book and are integrated into the story line. While Sky and King are the main characters in this book, they are part of a Willowhope Manor family.
Sammi Cee writes a fun paranormal story that is both touching and exciting. I love the development of the characters in this series and all of the twists and surprises that each book has delivered.

Sky and King are getting closer and spending their nights dream walking. They come across a young man in need and now Sky has to learn a new skill to save him. We see more of Ego and he gets to learn the secret everyone is keeping from him. After a little shock he embraces everything with enthusiasm. I liked that the whole gang was involved and helped Sky and King with this big dream walking encounter. I liked that King gets a surprise and new job from his boss the mayor. It was interesting that King's grandparents lost parts of their memories and couldn't just give Sky all the answers. During their big dream walking save, I didn't like that King was told to not do a specific thing and he did it anyway. It caused Sky more trouble and almost ruined their mission. This just seemed like a lazy cop out in the writing. I didn't feel as lost as I did in book one but there's still a few things mentioned that refer back to the Willowhope trilogy. Looking forward to Ego and Scotty's book.

Lots of magic in this one

I enjoyed this one better than the first one, where I struggled a bit to start with as I didn't realise it was a spinoff series where most of the characters had already been introduced and established. There was also a lot more action and delving more into the magics and talents of all the characters.
For such a large cast, the story flowed well and I loved seeing all of them interact. The warmth and affection between them all and the way they all worked together was lovely. It really is a found family at Willowhope Manor.
I continued to be impresssed with all the paranormal aspects again too. Sammi has worked hard to make her story unique and it works very well. Each character has their own distinct abilities and the younger generation are only just starting out, finding their feet, seemingly nowhere near the peak of their powers.
I loved Ego and am glad he's up next.

We're back with Kingston and Skylar for the second in the Dreamwalkers series set in the Willowhope universe. First off, the series is best read in order. Sky and King are growing closer in the dream realm but there's some hesitation in the mundane world. There are concerns about their situation, but with the way they are so in tune when dealing with spooky stuff it's inevitable that they overcome the doubts. These guys really do.make the best couple. Both have giant hearts, a protective streak a mile wide, love for their family and a great sense of the right thing to do.

The plot in this book has an interesting mystery as well as peels back another layer to reveal more secrets about both Willowhope’s lore and the powers emerging in the found family. Outside of handling the supernatural threat, it's magical fun and very entertaining. I'm certainly looking forward to more installments and especially learning more about Sky's cousin, Ego. 4*

An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest opinion.

A sweetly honest and real relationship

Whilst this obviously is a magical story (and I love the journey these two go on learning about their magic/power) there's an honest reality to their relationship. This is not a snap your fingers and everything is perfect situation. Kingston and Sky have to work things out together and whilst they absolutely don't get things right every time they make the effort. They're growing as people, individually and together. They want to make things work (even if they're worried about what might happen in the future). Plus you get the awesomeness that is Willowhope and the family Sky and Kingston have created. It's great to see them all and how supportive they are. I'm really enjoying this series and seeing these guys grow and create even stronger relationships with each other and their people.

Willowthope Manor's found family of paranormals, normals, ghosts, etc, etc continues to grow. So is Sky and King's relationship. If King doesn't put the brakes on it. He can't help grumpily worst case scenario-ing. A nice stoic opposite to Sky, who is such a ray of positivity and sunshine. Patchy, Sky's psychopomp familiar is absolutely darling.
The story is absolutely brimming with magic. Sky's powers blossom, which throws some angst into our MCs relationship. There's danger in dreamwalking, and this story feels a little bit darker than the previous. But with the help of Chance and company, they'll get their HEA.
I loved returning to the world of Willowhope Manor. This was such a sweet, fun read. There's a bit of edge of seat tension, and that just adds to the story enjoyment.

Sky and King are back with and everything is not calm in Willowhorpe.
I really enjoyed this story watching Sky and King working together to assist folk in their dreams and taking their relationship to the next level.
Whilst Sky and King are the stars of the show a lot more is learnt about the rest of the found family and some newer characters and careers are introduced. One of my favourite characters is Ego and I loved that I got to know them more, although I am curious about the conflict. I love all the activity with the ghosts and if I could spend a day there I would pack my bags straightaway.
When Sky and King are tested I was filled with apprehension and I knew that I needed to finish the book as I wasn't going to sleep until it was finished.
With the 3rd book teased I am super excited to read it

Never has it been more truly demonstrated that love does not resolve everything. Sky realizes that he and King are meant to be and he wants to learn how to use this magic that he was not previously aware of. But he and King need to get on the same page. King is still reluctant and hesitant to be all in with Sky and that has implications for the progression both for them as a couple and in Sky's education around coming into his own magical powers. Thank goodness they have found family that is there to help them as they work their way onto the same page and when they get there things get better. Although all is not resolved - which means more stories - they are in a better place as a pair as we leave them in this installment. Looking forward to what comes next!

birthmarks, Patchy, blush freckles, astral projection, 'The Vault', glittery sparkles, compact mirror, sack of potatoes, yellow galoshes, red eyes & fangs

Book #2 is more intense than Book #1 as far as the paranormal part is concerned. It has the same cast of characters as Book #1 with some new ones being introduced. So, reading Book #1 before is key to understanding this book. It won't be a hardship since both books are masterfully crafted. You'll enjoy the series as much as I do.

The story begins with Skylar and Kingston together on a dreamwalk. Their romance, relationship, and paranormal abilities are explored in greater detail. The side characters play bigger roles, and become integral to the plot.

Author Sammi Cee says another book is in the works, and I can't wait! I recommend this book and series!

The plot thickens and the love deepens.

Lovely, lovely Kingston’s life has been thrown into chaos as of late. Secrets revealed, powers discovered, and his soul mate has been revealed. It’s a lot. He wants to do right by all, but also protect his heart.

Skylar is as full of life as ever. Always trying to see the best and embrace life. It’s not his nature to be patient, but he will for King. Except, whatever powers are in control, they seem to have other ideas in mind.

Something they’ve never seen before in their dreams has arrived, and it’s going to take them committing fully, trusting completely, and working with all their friends and family to fix it.

And what an extended family they’ve created!

So, we are back with Kingston & Skylar. Sky is still all in with King, but King is still unsure thinking that Sky could do better. He is so unsure of himself. Our boys are learning their footing with King being a dreamwalker & Sky being his tether. I love the slow progression of their relationship as it gives them as well as the story, more depth. The found family is still as awesome as ever. Great continuation to this series. It is not meant to be read as a standalone. I also recommend starting with the Willowhope series as you meet several of the established characters and get the backstory of the town. I can’t wait for more.

This is book 2 in a wonderful series, and it picks up where book one left off. Skylar and Kingston are trying to figure out their relationship. They see each other in the Dream-veil more than they see each other in the real world, so they have some things to work out. They also need more education about magic and what they are facing, because they come across some new challenges in this book. But the best part is that they have some wonderful found family that supports them. The world building is very interesting and thorough. All of the characters are growing on me and as this is an HFN, I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.

This is book two in the Dreamwalker’s series and they must be read in order as it features Sky and King. The story starts with them being pulled into the dream world where they try to figure out where they need to help. Hearing voices, they hear someone saying “leave me alone” while the voice is berating him. They couldn’t find what was wrong and woke up. When they went to check out the place they couldn’t find anything. They eventually helped out Booker and ground hi. In the fold of Willowhope. I am so happy that Sky’s cousin Ego was told the supernatural element and the B&B. I cannot wait what happens next as the book ended with Ego being on tour.

Second book in the series, you need to read the first to enjoy this one.
In this instalment Sky and King learn more about dreamwalking and witching. We really get to know Ego in this book and he is so adorable...
Sky takes a look to himself, he doesn't like what he sees, so he works hard to change his behavior and be better. He takes a leap of faith in King's feelings and allows their relationship to evolve.
King is great with him, full of patience and understanding.
I'm enjoying this series, the author always leaves something unfinished to keep the reader eager to come back to these characters. I especially like that everyone can have their POV in the books.

Wow!

This is the second book in the Dreamwalker's series.
It answered some of the questions I had after finishing the first book, and gave me a whole lot of new ones.
You'll also have the enjoyment of meeting some new characters as well.

With Ego showing up again, the cousins have the time to get closer, and strengthen the bonds they already share.

To say nothing of King learning more from his mentor.
So much more to come!

I want my own psychopomp!

Just remember...
You definitely have to read these in order!

Thank you Sammi and GRR for this ARC!
I hope book 3 will be released soon!

Another fantastic book written by Sammi, I absolutely love this entire found family she had created in this world. King and Sky are back with the rest of the family on a new adventure to save another innocent soul. We learn more about Ego and Sky’s family background and their magical connection and we meet new characters that are in their corner. I love the family vibe that is created in these stories, they are there for each other no matter what. King and Sky’s love grows even more and we get to see their relationship blossom, such a beautiful thing. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the whole crew in Ego’s story. ❤️😁

More dream walking for Sky and Kingston

I love how this book is not just about another couple in this town, but is actually more about the whole town. The world building that Sammi Cee has done about Willowhope through her various series is coming together and this book is where a lot of it is revealed. It’s marvelous to see how things are connected and we get lots of interesting ideas about what might be coming. Ms Cee has always been really good at writing great characters, but the plotting and planning are really getting good too. I feel like this book in particular has started meshing the various stories and I was amazed by it.

I was so anticipating book 2 because Sky and King relationship is just beginning and them being fated, made their bond all the more special. This was a cute and fun read with all the spookiness which made it a page turner. It was a little angsty with the MCs doubting themselves...ALL THE TIME...but not so much angst to turn me away from the romance itself I absolutely love the secondary characters...the found family...much love and support giving to our MCs. I cant wait to read more with Sky being his fabulous self and King being sweet and grumpy. NICE!

Wow! This may be my favourite Sammi Cee book yet! The world building done in this book is phenomenal! We still have our favourite people from Willowhope but now we are adding new people and fleshing out the supernatural world. The storyline moves at an excellent pace with just the right amount of conflict while adding so much new context that I would stay reading about this world for as many books as she is willing to write! If you haven’t read this series you are seriously missing out and need to start it.

Skylar and Kingston story was thrilling with funny moments, love and packed with danger and adrenaline.
It was full of shenanigans, a little bit of teasing, secrets and revelations that will blow your mind.
The little snippets from the side characters in key points was amazing and gave as more understanding of the situation.
The danger increases, magic is brought to the next level, new ability are made known that are crucial in defeating the enemy.
New characters join the new family and the events take an interesting turn.
It was amazing, and I’m looking forward to the next adventure.

Wow! I love this world and all the characters so much! The world has expanded so much in this story. So much happened and we met so many new paranormal characters that I couldn’t put this story down. I love Sky and Kingston and watching their relationship and bond grow. They are learning and growing together and they have all their family and friends around them to help them along their journey. This is a HFN story and shouldn’t be read as a standalone. This is a great series so far and I cannot wait for more stories and to see where things go!

This is the second book in this spin-off series. Sky has accepted that he and King are meant to be together and is eager to learn how to use the new magic he never knew he had. King is not so sure of anything. He withdraws from Sky because he feels Sky was not given a choice in the situation and feels like he is a burden to Sky. Of course they have to work through all of that with the help of all the found family and magic in the world. The world building is great and I’m excited for what is to come next. I highly recommend this book & series. Enjoy!
