“Reality is just the beginning.“
“I wish this moment could last forever,” the man murmured, his words growing distant as Levi’s hearing began to fade. “Just you and me.”
Levi stared back, paralyzed by the realization that whatever game he was trapped in, Asher wasn’t simply its villain. He was playing by rules Levi didn’t understand.
He wasn’t just a walking red flag, he was the bubbling vat of dye that made the flags red at the red flag factory. Common sense would tell Levi to run as far and fast away from Asher as he could. But common sense was for a world he didn’t live in anymore.
“Fuck, Levi. You sound so pretty when you’re desperate for me.”
This wasn’t mutual attraction; it was conditioning. Training. Asher was teaching Levi’s body to associate him with pleasure rather than pain. And it was working.
“I’ll find you again,” Asher said, voice steady despite the grinding metal closing in around them. “I always do.”
“You’re trying to plan the perfect seduction in a death maze.” “It’s not a death maze,” Asher said. “It’s just... challenging architecture. And I can make it romantic. I’ll find candles.”I know what you want to know is if there is an HEA. There is a definite HFN as this is only book 1. But the ending 100% has the couple together as a couple with zero plans to change that status unless it's to make their relationship stronger.
He’d chosen this—chosen death over violation.
“I did a good job, right?” Asher’s voice cracked like breaking glass as he traced Levi’s lower lip with a bloody thumb. “Do you like me more now?”
