Tanner Wagner has been the only man I’ve wanted since I was thirteen.
He’s funny, sweet, and he's obsessed with turkey hunting. He also has this luscious dirty blonde hair that makes me want to tangle my fingers in it.
Don’t even get me started on his body. It’s hot! Tattoos cover it and one day, I hope my fingers and tongue have the pleasure of tracing every inch of ink on his body.
However, he also happens to be ten years older than me and my brother's best friend. This makes him completely off limits.
Omg another great read by Rebecca!! I love these characters so much! And can’t wait to continue this series! She writes such relatable characters with fun relationships and unique outdoorsy themes. A hunting romance ❤️We fell in love with Jackson and raven in book one. This follows Luna, Jackson’s lil sister and his best friend Tanner. There is a bit of an age gap done perfectly! Luna has crushed on Tanner since she was little, but she knows all she’s ever been is his best friends little sister….. does growing up and coming back to her hometown after a bad breakup change the way he sees her?!
This is the first book I’ve read of Rebecca’s and I’m so glad to have found her to become an ARC reader. I was so entangled in Luna and Tanner’s love story! I never felt like I wanted it to hurry up for them to tell her brother and burst their little love bubble. I was so shocked about the pregnancy but it was a wonderful surprise to start wrapping up the book. Definitely will be reading her other books as they come out!

I was so excited when I got chosen to be an ARC reader for this book! I loved Cutie in camo and A long time strutting did not disappoint! What a wild ride Luna and Tanner's story is, there are also a few plot twists along the way. I cannot recommend Rebecca Gulley's stories enough and I can't wait to hear Henry, Hannah and Violet's story later this year.
I fell in love with Luna and Tanner from the very beginning. I laughed and cried throughout the book. I love how Jackson and Raven were included so we still got more of them but didn't take away from the main characters. Such a great book and definitely deserves more than 5 stars.

ARC review of A Long Time Strutting by Rebecca Gulley
This book was such a great follow up to the first one. It was nice to see how Lina and Tanner came to be together and get to feel all the feels while doing it. Rebecca is such a great story teller.
I am really hoping that we get to see Mitch find his person and get his HEA.
I received this as an advanced reader copy and am truly grateful to have been giving this opportunity.
We all deal with grief in our own way, and when Tanner lost his girlfriend in a car wreck, he decided the only way to mend his broken heart was to take on the role of playboy.
When Luna realized the love of her life was with somebody else, her reaction was to run. Now a chance encounter has her in the arms of her brother's best friend, the man she's been head over heels with since she was 13, the same man who doesn't do relationships.
Unable to deny the chemistry between them, Tanner and Luna start a back-and-forth relationship that will have you wondering "will they or won't they?" Secrets are kept. Turkeys are both saved and hunted. Hearts are broken.
But will Luna and Tanner manage to find their happily ever after? And will they be able to keep it when Luna's brother finds out?
This book was a fun read, and you can see the growth in the author from book one. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Absolutely loved this! A Long Time Strutting is the second book in the River Valley series. A story of finding by love after a tragic loss. Falling for your brothers best friend. Small town. Hunting. 🦌 Spice. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Luna has had a crush on her brothers best friend for years. He’s also 10 years older than her… she can’t bear the thought of seeing him with anyone else so she gets out of town.
Tanner never knew how his best friends sister truly feels. He experiences a tragic loss and handles his grief in his own way. Not realizing this is the reason Luna has been gone for so long.
Can Luna finally tell him how she has felt since she was a kid? Will Tanner feel the same way? How will their relationship with Lunas brother turn out?
A Long Time Strutting can be read alone. However, you’ll be missing out if you skip over Cutie in Cameo! Make sure you check out Cutie in Cameo while waiting for this to release.
Thank you, Rebecca Gulley, for the opportunity to receive an ARC of A Long Time Strutting!
I truly enjoyed Luna and Tanner’s story. I absolutely loved the hunting elements (as a hunter myself, it made the connection even stronger for me). The little moments of book talk were such a fun addition too for obvious reasons, hehe.
I also appreciated that the age gap wasn’t overly emphasized. It felt natural and never overshadowed the heart of the story. While reading, I genuinely felt like I was part of their world.
This was such an addictive read — I finished it in less than 24 hours! The writing style flowed beautifully and made it an easy, immersive experience.
This was my first book by this author, but I will definitely be going back for more. I love that the series can be read as standalones, so I’ll be picking up Cutie in Camo next!
Quotes I liked👇 “I vow to cherish the quiet moments in the woods with you, where the world slows down and it’s just us- the trees and the call of the wild”
“Luna Keaton was about to give me the ride of my life, and I was more than willing to hand over the reins for her to do so”
This is the second book in the River Valley series. It was everything I hoped it would be. It was a second chance at love for Tanner and a childhood crush on your brothers best friend for Luna. This story had a sweet developing yearning love, still set with a hunting theme, secrets and lots of spice with a few surprises. I loved how the characters from the last book were all still intertwined in this book. It was an amazing read. This author knows how to make you feel and envision like you are right in the book.
ABSOLUTELY FRICKING YESSS I loved this book so much from the way. Luna experienced her first and instantly falling in love with Tanner when she was 13 that ending was so good. Although Tanner had a rough start at things he deserved this , but I’m so glad they got there HEA. I love me some brother’s best friend tropes and some age gap
I’m a turkey hunter so I really connected with the story. The romance reeled me in. Luna made me want to snatch her up sometimes but as women we can be hard headed lol. My first arc and it did not disappoint.
I can’t wait for Rebeca Gulley’s next release because baby I am hooked now.
I really enjoyed Luna and Tanner’s story and how the book also brought in what was happening in Jackson and Raven’s lives as well. I love the elements of the hunting world and sharing bits of the book with my husband who is an avid hunter. I can’t wait for what comes next.
who doesn't love a brother's best friend/ age gap/ surprise pregnancy story? Luna has been in love with Tanner since she's 13, but he's 10 years older than her and her brother's best friend. After leaving town to avoid seeing him, she finds herself back in her hometown. A flat tire has them back in each other's orbit. There were a few times where Luna was incredibly frustrating, but then remembered that she's a 22 idiot, lol. There's a pet turkey and a happy ending, so we're good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Long Time Strutting by Rebecca Gulley was such a great read. Tanner and Luna have amazing chemistry, and their connection feels genuine and heartfelt. The emotions were well done, the pacing kept me engaged, and I found myself rooting for them the whole way through. A really enjoyable, character-driven romance that I’d happily recommend.
This book was amazing. Had so mean memories of hunting with my dad and my brother come to mind. It makes you feel for them and all they go through to get to the end and fall more in love with all the characters.
Tanner and Luna absolutely blew me away in this book. So many unexpected things and by the end my jaw was on the floor and I was kicking my feet like a school girl! I can’t wait for the next!
I read this book in 2 days I couldn't put it down it was so good. I just hate how we found out she was pregnant at the end of the book, I wish they was more about there pregnancy journey and how they are as parents... I really want a part 2 for this book 😊 in can't get enough of luna and tanner.
✨ARC REVIEW✨ a long time strutting is book 2 in the river valley series. luna and tanners story is one for the books. a mmc with past relationship tr-uma and he’s the reason she left town and rarely comes back. in town for her brother tanner finds out why she left and they cross a line they can never take back all while raising a turkey together. a secret relationship and years worth of pining. its real, it’s intense, and it’s true. i loved this book and cant wait for the others. be sure to check it out on 3/28 and read cutie in camo for lunas brothers story!!
Tanner and Luna's story was one of my favorites! I was so happy when Luna finally came to her senses and stopped running away back to Tennessee and moved back home to be with Tanner. The way her brother found out his little sister was secretly dating his best friend was not ideal, but it all worked out in the end!!!
Definitely a 10/10 read! A Cutie in Camo is also 10/10!!!
ARC review of A Long Time Strutting by Rebecca Gulley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book... This book was a JOURNEY! A beautiful, funny, spicy, healing, and oh so incredibly sweet journey! From the first page, I was completely invested in Tanner and Luna, and couldn't stop loving them!
Older Brothers Best Friend/Best Friends Little Sister adds tension and the secret keeping, slow burn intensity is unmatched! Their connection starts when they’re young, but what makes this story so special is how their love grows and shifts as they grow and change. It’s not rushed. It’s not forced. It’s earned. And that kind of love? That’s what everyone hopes for.
Tanner and Lunas Banter jumps off the page and is effortless, sharp, and oh so playful. You feel every look, every almost, every moment of all the feels!
And can we talk about practicing turkey calls in the barn?! Easily my favorite. I was smiling so hard. It was HOT, intimate, a little chaotic, and somehow still incredibly tender — the kind of scene that perfectly captures why these two just work.
Even on the last page, I wanted more. More Tanner. More Luna. More of this beautiful, messy, healing love. This story grabbed my heart from the start and absolutely refused to let go.
✔️ brothers best friend ✔️ friends to lovers ✔️ longtime crush ✔️ age gap ✔️ playboy finds his girl ✔️ small town
This is the second book in The River Valley series by Rebecca Gulley. This book could be read as a standalone but it does have past characters in it. My POV is read both books.
Tanner is your typical playboy. You know the kind different girl every weekend. He has a bit of a traumatic past so he has issues with commitment. I guess you could say until he doesn’t.
Luna has lusted after Tanner since she was thirteen years old. Yes she dated other people even lived with one. (I’ll let you read the surprise of this outcome for yourself) Yet none of them were the man she gave her heart too at such a young age.
The chemistry that flows off the page with these two will knock your socks off. Does it get spicy 🌶️? I’m gonna say yesss but honestly I couldn’t get enough of these two! They are absolutely amazing together.
Thank you so much Rebecca for allowing me an early copy of this book. It definitely made for a great read during an ice storm.
“Who knew one night in a bar, eavesdropping, would change everything?”
This book was amazing! It kept me interested from beginning to end! and I loved every minute of Tanner and Luna’s story, it was heartwarming how it all came together at the end! The story was well paced and kept you wanting to read for more to see when secrets would be shared and where the story was going to go next! The ending also had a twist I didn’t see coming 🤭 but absolutely loved for them.
Tanner is an MMC who is lovable, charming, sweet and caring. He started off with the playboy status but ultimately that changed as things progressed in the story 👀
Luna is a sweet, love able and relatable FMC who knew what she wanted but was afraid of what the consequences would be if she spoke out about it.
Definitely check out this book for an awesome read, with some hunting, love, life changes and more in it! I definitely will not be able to look at a wooden rod of a slate call the same 👀🤭🫣
Tanner has always been off-limits. He’s Luna’s brother’s best friend the boy who was always around, always watching out for her, always untouchable. Luna has loved him for as long as she can remember, quietly carrying a crush that never stood a chance… or so she thought.
Now that they’re grown, lines start to blur, secrets surface, and the tension they’ve both ignored for years becomes impossible to deny. Tanner knows he shouldn’t want her. Luna knows she shouldn’t hope. But some feelings don’t fade they wait.
Keeping secrets from her brother is challenging and soon Tanner and Luna have no choice but to come clean about their relationship but it happens after an accident and they have no choice. Will Jackson ever accept that his best friend Tanner is in love with his sister?
This was a 10/10 for me. I will definitely recommend this book.
