“He was sweet and attentive and could find a G-spot without Google Maps” - sounds like the ultimate GPS navigation system. Get ready to laugh out loud when you read this book. I laughed so much that I cried, like tears-streaming-down-my-face cried. Tanya is such a great character - smart, funny, and the whole package. This was the perfect book to read after two intense books, like the literary equivalent of a palate cleanser. A nun who falls in love with a priest in grey sweatpants - because who wouldn't? Oh, there are some sizzling spots that would put bacon to shame, and I'm not just talking about the romance. Check this out today, trust me, your funny bone will thank you.

There’s a film crew and a children’s choir to manage but Vinnie Torrisi (the husband) has found Tanya.
Can a Hollywood star, an FBI agent & Tanyas forensic accountant degree help?

Nun on the Run is an absolutely delightful rom-com.
Funny with great one liners and great banter.
The story of a former stripper married to a mob boss hiding in a convent in Mexico that falls for a priest. Really enjoyed the character development and all the twist and turns.

You know you're going to enjoy turning the pages when chapters start; hanging upside down on a stripper pole, wearing a nun’s habit in the wee hours, and Father Victor appears from his morning jog in grey sweatpants, memorably described as “Lucifer's favourite fabric.”
The story hinges on many amusing, irreverent conversations. Yes, technically profanity, but it's deliciously tongue-in-cheek and tempered; like, “humility is good for the soul… desperation is an excellent teacher.”
There is plenty to engage and create anticipation. A mob boss who views his wife as “waste management.” And how many stories are there hiding in this convent? And where to meet a hot priest; the confessional, the bell tower or the old convent tunnels.
The backstory is slotted with craft. Though the author does ‘hold the reader's hand’ with plot points and character thinking, this overexplains the story at times.
Will Tanya follow her mentor's advice: “strategic, not impulsive?” Does more danger lurk outside or inside the convent? Is survival safety, or figuring out what you really want, when you stop running away? Recommended as a fast, witty read with seeded, wicked twists for both Victor and Tanya. And never underestimate a stripper or a nun or a priest.

I haven't laughed this much while reading in a good long while. I think I even kept a smile on my face for the first half at the very least. The writing style and character work were that good. Add in Sister Act vibes plus forbidden romance, I was all in.
However while the lust was evident and even endearing, I never felt that the romance really developed past that. The resolution also felt a little too easy.
That said, I very much enjoyed this book.

The beginning of this book is amazing, it’s so funny and the romance definitely builds, and the attraction is written pretty well, but near the end there is something’s that felt a little repetitive, and everything finished rather quickly, and in a way that kinda took me out of it. If your reading for smut there is only really two scene which were pretty basic but not to bad.

This was a chaotic and memorable reading experience. The story embraces bold and outrageous situations, and I often found myself reacting with a mix of amusement, disbelief, and curiosity about what would happen next. It's the kind of book that keeps escalating, making it hard to look away even when the drama becomes almost unbelievable.
That said, the heavy reliance on shocking twists sometimes made the story feel messy rather than impactful. I would loved a bit more development in character motivations and emotional depth so that the dramatic moments felt more grounded.
Overall, it was entertaining in its own over-the-top way. With stronger character development and slightly more balanced pacing, this could easily have been a five star read for me.

I know that when I pick up a Hazel K. Ford Rom Com it’s going to have me laughing out loud, and Nun on the Run is no exception.
It’s constantly funny and tastefully spicy and Tanya is a female lead that has an amazing sense of humor and inner monologue that will have you rolling.
Read this book if you are looking for a semi serious, slightly mysterious, completely hilarious, fast pass, run, easy read!!!

May 9, 2026This was a fun book. It had an ex-stripper turned forensic accountant, posing as a nun, hiding from her mob boss husband in a convent, lusting after a priest… What more could you ask for? The author had an engaging writing style, there were a ton of laugh-out-loud moments, and a few twists and turns to keep things even more interesting. I really enjoyed it.

Okay so to begin I will say this read this book where you can laugh out loud 🤣 because I was balling dying laughing and kicking my feet with happiness. This was such a fun read. I was excited for this book but oh my goodness it was beyond what I was expecting in the best way possible. I love how hazel k ford the author wrote this book the pace, the storyline the set up, from the beginning to the end it was intriguing and so funny. The characters were all amazing but of course the main ones were easy to fall in love with. The main female character was so funny and definitely relatable too she had the best outlook in life in her situation. And the main male character was just as interesting and brought so much to the story and he was hello hot. The banter in this book was so funny I couldn’t not stop giggling at all the punch lines and zingers. Ok and sister Agnes I loved, loved, loved her you will too as soon as you read this book. And yes there are some spicy/ steamy scenes oh and the build up to those scenes hot and hot! And the plot twist was so good I couldn’t even deal with it in a good way. I don’t want to give anything away but read this book, it’s a must, I recommend this book for sure.

I went into this book expecting a fun little rom-com, but oh my goodness, it was so much more. I was actually dying laughing—like, the kind of laughing where you have to put the book down to catch your breath.
Tanya is such a relatable main character despite the whole "mob wife on the run" thing. Her outlook on her situation is hilarious, and watching her try to navigate a convent in stylish shoes was just gold. And then there’s Father Victor. He is hot, observant, and the tension between him and Tanya? It’s electric. The "forbidden" aspect of their chemistry is handled so well, especially when the "only one bed" energy kicks in.
A few things I loved:

Ford has delivered a wonderfully captivating and well written romantic comedy. I love how Ford writes in a way that balances the humor along with the danger or high stakes of life decisions. Be warned that this book will have you laughing out loud - no seriously...you think you can hold it in but this book has some great laughable moments. I adore how Ford builds the storyline as well as the dynamic between our main characters. I love the forbidden aspect as well and I was rather surprised based on the title that there was as much steam - but loved that as well. Beautifully balanced, well written and so, so much fun! I can't wait to read more from Ford!

This book is delightful!! It’s funny, intriguing, irreverent, and romantic…all tied in o one amazing story. Tanya has left her scary husband Vinnie and doesn’t want to be found, so she dresses as a nun and hides in a church. She meets super-HOT Father Victor and it’s instant “forbidden” attraction. There is a secret about Victor’s identity (it’s a big one!), and you must read the book to find out.

I loved this book! It was very funny and definitely made me lol quite a number of times. The things that would come out of the MFC’s mouth were quite funny.
Obviously it’s not supposed to be the most realistic story but it was very entertaining!

There were laugh out loud moments but it was also incredibly boring for me in between. I just couldn't make myself finish it. It's still promising though so I might pick it back up at a later time.
