I like to read this type of book around Halloween-time. I haven’t read anything before by Adam MacQueen so thought I’d try this one.

This collection of stories overall is fairly strong and enjoyable to read. My particular favourites were Panic Room and Multiple Occupation. The only downside with short stories is that you start to get into the story when suddenly it ends, often with many questions unanswered. So whilst I went into this book knowing this, it was still a little frustrating.

The writing was good though and I did enjoy this book, although not as much as I’d hoped.

Is mijn engels slechter geworden of zijn deze verhalen gewoon niet goed geschreven? Ze zijn niet eng, net als je meer moet weten krijg je niks en de spanning gaat ervan af op het moment dat je een stuk meerdere malen moet lezen om te snappen wat hij nou echt wilt zeggen. De ideeën zijn allemaal goed maar de uitwerking kan echt stukken beter. Alleen het laatste verhaal was wel goed, maar niet wat het genre behoort te zijn.

I inhaled this book in 2 days. a random buy because I loved ghost stories as a child. some if these I confess I didn't fully understand but an easy enjoyable read.
