Christmas at the Home Farm Vets: A fun, festive and heartwarming romance

Rate this book
Ten years ago, Erin had her heart broken by fellow vet student Oli. Now, she’s his landlord. All Erin wants is independence and security. All Oli does is travel the world after locuming at practices for a few months. So when he comes back into Erin’s life, she knows it’s temporary, no matter the lingering looks he gives her.

With Christmas approaching, the vet practice is busier than ever, and Erin is surprised at how well she and Oli work together to help the animals of Hartfell. From sharing meals in her cramped cottage to meandering the village fayre, the wall Erin has built around her heart begins to crumble.

But Oli’s contract is coming to an end and he’s shown no sign of wanting to stay. Has she set herself up for another heartbreak from the only man she’s ever loved? Or will she realise that being independent sometimes means relying on others, and security comes with taking risks?

Be whisked away this Christmas to the Yorkshire Dales, for fans of Sue Moorcroft, Trisha Ashley and Heidi Swain.

4⭐️ Christmas at the Home Farm Vets by Suzanne Snow

I have been spoilt with some deliciously cosy Christmas reads this December and this is keeping the bar high. I grew reading James Herriot books and dreaming of being a Yorkshire vet even if adult life took me elsewhere so I loved the nostalgic feel.

There was everything you would expect from a cosy small town Christmas reads. I was rooting for Ollie and Erin.

Erin and Oli’s worlds cross once again after a missed opportunity at love. Life clearly had different plans for them after many years of not seeing each other. They are both very caring vets and he ends up having to live with her. With other things in life, a relationship is complicated.

This book was cute and sweet, specially with all the animals and the Christmas feel. I did feel there were parts that were a little drug out more than needed. However, I still enjoyed it with the small town feel. It was a light hearted and quick read.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Christmas At The Home Farm Vets' by Suzanne Snow

This book is the second book in Suzanne's 'Hartfell Village' series but it can be read as a standalone although I definitely cannot wait to go back and devour the first and future books in this promising series!.

Well blooming heck Suzanne, Where have you been hiding all my life?!?! You absolutely blew it out of the ball park!!! Genuine this has got to be one of the BEST novels I have ever read!!! This may be the first book I have read by this absolutely incredible author but it most definitely will not be my last!!! Christmas, Animals and Feel good vibes....what more could you ask for??

WOW!!!! What can I say?!?! What an absolutely stunning book that I fell in love with!!! I cannot wait to read more books by this extremely talented author!

This book is beautifully written with vivid descriptions setting the picture perfectly in the readers mind. The title, description and cover works perfectly with the storyline.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this absolutely stunning festive and animal based book that is absolutely perfect for any and all animal, Christmas and romance lovers out there so don't even waste your time reading more than this and go and grab your copy now!! If you want to know more about this stunning book then you will have to grab your copy of this absolute beauty to find out more for yourselves!! I can promise that you will not regret it! I love the fact that our protagonist is a strong independent and animal loving female, being female myself I love strong female protagonists in books and Erin is fab. I am also a HUGE animal lover and even run my own rescue called Golden Oldies Cat Rescue and Hospice which you can find on social media if you wish to meet the gang. Therefore, any books with animals and animal lovers in are a bonus for me. This one is based on an animal loving vet and is ram packed with animals so it definitely ticks all the boxes for me. I would not normally recommend reading books in a series our of order but if you jump straight into this one, and nobody would blame you with with its gorgeous cover or the fact that Christmas is just round the corner, well have no fear! There is a silver lining to reading later books in a series first and that is after you have finished this beauty and fallen in love with it, like I did, found your new favourite author and series, like I did, and are impatiently waiting for the next books in this series, like I am, you can go back and read the first book while you are waiting for the next. It is called 'Finding Home In Hartfell' and it has gone straight onto my Amazon wish list so if anyone wants to get me a late birthday gift then feel free lol!! This is a beautiful heart-warming story filled with friendship, animals, stunning settings, Christmas, community, family, romance and everything you could ask for to lift your spirits. I mean seriously Suzanne, how have I never read any of your books so far when you are this blooming amazing?!! Well, I am just so glad I have resolved that problem, and the one good thing about finding an epic author this late in to the series is that while I am waiting for your next book in this series which is guaranteed to be amazing even if it is just a quarter as good as this book I can go all the way back to the start and read Finding Home In Hartfell and more of your other books!!!! If you want a book that will warm you up and turn a frown upside down this is definitely one for you!! Suzanne's stunning evocative descriptions pulls you into the book leaving you feeling the snow on your skin, hear the animal noises. feeling your heart warm as you turn the pages and make you fall in love with the beautiful Hartfell Village and the amazing characters in it!!! This is one of those places that I can tell will already feel like a holiday home by the time I return to the first book in this series. The characters already feel like friends and I am hoping to see more of them again when I return!! Thanks to her emotive writing skills she will have you smiling, crying, laughing and more so have those tissues at the ready!! I mean, to be fair if someone sees the words vets, Christmas and/or animals and does not want to pick up the book immediately then they are not the type of person you want to be with!! Any book containing animals, Christmas and vets is a HUGE YES from me!! This book is an absolutely gorgeous, romantic, book paradise escape!!! I was completely swept away with the storyline and loved having a holiday in the beautiful Hartfell Village while surrounded by.... you guessed it...animals!! ! This book really is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I was utterly glued to the pages and I could not bring myself to put it down. I was carrying my book around with me every chance that I got as I just could not put it down and ended up devouring it in one sitting then being gutted I had finished it so quickly!! This is one stunning book with a stunning location that I would absolutely love to visit!! I was devastated when I came to the end of this gorgeous mini break away and had to get back to reality. However, I am so pleased that this book is the second book in this series as it means I can go back to the first book and escape to Hartfell Village again!! I would seriously recommend this book to anyone and everyone!! A gorgeous uplifting romance that will warm your hearts 💝. I am off to add the rest of Suzanne's previous to my Amazon wish list as soon as I've finished this review!!

Clear your schedules as this is one gorgeous and unputdownable stunner that will keep you hooked and sweep you away on a stunning holiday❤️

I absolutely loved getting to know the characters in this book who were all strong, realistic. I became completely invested in each and every one of them. They all had their own problems, secrets, feelings and all had unique personalities and I just absolutely loved getting to know them all. The main character Erin is an absolutely fantastic female protagonist and I mean she is a huge animal lover and has been since a child, she then goes on to work with animals!! What is there to not love about her? Honestly, I just adore books about animals with animal loving characters!! An absolute perfect storyline for any animal lover!! I also absolutely loves Oli and I was rooting for him and Erin from the moment I met them and all the way through the gorgeous story I wanted them both to get their happy ending. I absolutely loved seeing the amazing community, romance and friendships develop and grow between different characters and it really made them all feel like friends rather than fictional characters. The fact that Suzanne clearly cares for each of her characters shines through the pages in her fantastic descriptions of them and how she gives each their own unique personalities and brings them to life!! I really am looking forward to meeting each of them again and again on my future journeys to Hartfell Village!! I will say that with all the characters, Thanks to Suzanne's fantastic and emotive writing skills she ensured I felt each of their love , friendship, pain, heartbreak, happiness, anger, sorrow and so much more. She really does do an absolutely amazing job of bringing the story to life and the characters leap out of the pages as your turning them thanks to her evocative writing skills!! Well done Suzanne!!!

Congratulations Suzanne on an absolutely gorgeous, festive and heart-warming and animal read filled with everything you could ever ask for in a page turner!!! I am looking forward to reading more of your future books especially the previous and future books in this series!! I would absolutely love to see this book turned into a movie!!! This is why I would like to welcome you to my favourite author list and here's to your next success 🥂
Overall an absolutely gorgeous festive and animal lovers book that will keep you glued to the pages and warm your heart ❤️!!!

Erin is a vet in the village of Hartwell and is content with her life. That is until the new temporary vet at the practice turns out to be Oli who broke her heart at university. Can Erin and Oli move forward?

This was a really sweet and cosy read. The storyline was about relationships, friendships, romance, community and of course lots of animals.

The storyline is told in a dual timeline format moving between the past and the present. In the past we learn how Erin and Oli met at Cambridge university. How their friendship started, turned into something more and came to an abrupt end. In the present Erin and Oli are getting to grips with not only working but also living together.

The first meeting between Erin and Oli was priceless. Erin already knew that she would be working and living with Oli before he arrived but Oli didn’t have a clue. The look of shock on his face when he realised was priceless. There was definitely a lot of tension between Erin and Oli and a lot left unsaid between them. The only way for them to move forward was for them to confront what happened in the past. It was clear that both of them were conflicted about how they felt about each other and being around each other constantly. Erin makes it clear from the outset that she only has friendship to offer but the more time they spend together things become complicated because they start to fall for each other all over again.

I really enjoyed exploring the past timeline and learning more about how Erin and Oli met. Both were from very different backgrounds. Oli was from a wealthy and privileged background but Erin wasn’t. Despite this they still connected. However when Erin and Oli did start to become close Oli’s background did impact on anything happening between them because this was one aspect that Erin felt meant that they couldn’t be together. If Erin had looked beyond this she would have seen that Oli had fallen for her as much as she had fallen for him.

I had so many favourite scenes in this book. One was a scene in the past where Erin’s mother was ill and Oli drove Erin home so Erin could be closer to her mother. One of the funniest scenes for me was when Erin and Oli visit Dorothy’s farm and Oli gets more than he bargained for.

A cosy read.

Following on from the brilliant first book in this series by Suzanne Snow, this book has a lovely Christmas vibe to it.
Erin Hardy is reminiscing about her first kiss when she was at university to Oli Sterling, now he has turned up on her doorstep as she is going to be his landlord, this is definitely something she didn't see coming. But with a true Yorkshire welcome, she invites him into her rather cramped cottage and decides to make the most of it.
What happens next is a matter of will they, won't they? As they navigate through the home life/work life balance. Throw into the mix of an ex-boyfriend, parents, and other relatives. They find themselves with many situations that need sorting out before they can sort out their own personal lives. No spoilers, but as you read on, it really opens up the story, and at times, I almost felt like knocking their heads together! Others you feel so cosy with the friendships between the two and people who live in the village.

I really loved reading this book, I felt engaged with the characters from the very beginning, the setting of the book in the Yorkshire Dale's was superb, I personally love visiting towns and villages in Yorkshire and this book was accurate in its description of places and brought back many happy memories.
This book is Erin's and Oli's story as you learn of their past lives at university, then their work lives together in Yorkshire. It's a real will they or wont they get together in time for the festive season.
Fans of books by Jessica Redland and Heidi Swain will love this book. It's one of those books that leaves you all warm and fuzzy inside. It's the perfect Christmas time read, perfect for cuddling up in front of the fire with the Christmas tree lights sparkling.
I also loved the front cover, very christmassy.
A great five-star read from me.

This was such a lovely, cozy, snowy Christmas romance and I loved it!

Christmas at the Home Farm Vets is the second book by Suzanne Snow set in the village of Hartfell but following different main characters (the ones from book one are in this as secondary characters) so can be read as a standalone.

It follows Erin as she’s recently moved to Hartfell into her own cottage working as a vet at Home Farm, working with both domestic and farm animals. Oli is a locum vet who’s going to be working at Home Farm for a few weeks until Christmas getting practice working with livestock and staying in Erin’s spare room.

The only problem is Oli doesn’t realise he’s staying with Erin and they have a past which neither of them truly moved on from. Will history repeat itself or will they finally open up to each other?

The first half of the book has a dual timeline with some chapters going back 10 years to when the characters are at university and some in current time while the second half is all present day.

I really enjoyed the dual timeline as it meant you got a better understand of what happened in the past and why things are how they are in the present day.

I loved the storyline and all of the characters. Erin’s family were so adorable and I enjoyed the community family feel of Hartfell. Marnie was one of my favourite characters and I loved all of the cute animals mentioned!

I liked the Christmas element making the book cozy and festive without it feeling too much like a Christmas book you could only read at that time of year.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this read and was sad when it ended. I hope there’ll be more books in this series as it’s a perfect, cozy and heartwarming place to read about!

We follow Erin who is a veterinarian in small town England, living her life and becoming more independent when Oli, someone she knows from her college days shows up to fill in during the Holidays. There’s a lot of tension and Erin just wants to make it through unscathed and preferably without anyone finding out they even know each other. We’re taken on a journey of past and present, seeing how their story began, how it went so utterly wrong, and how if the both of them could just let love in, maybe this reunion wouldn’t be so bad after all.

This was such a cute read and I loved that the setting is rural England and the characters are living every day life. The life of a farm focused vet is not pretty, and I appreciate the details, both good and sometimes bad, in this book. Erin and Oli are such a cute couple and their chemistry is amazing! From their very first encounter, I was rooting for them! I’m not usually a fan of the miscommunication trope, but I think Suzanne did a great job of showing the raw fear there is in trusting. Not just trusting in love, but in trusting our decision in letting love guide our decisions, and also in owning our mistakes. Because what’s on the other side, could be better than our wildest dreams.
It might not be the most magical setting, but Suzanne Snow illustrates that we don’t need those things for magic to still happen💕✨

If you love small town charm, second chances, healing and brave vulnerability set in a cozy and hopeful setting, I highly recommend you pick this up and give it a read!

Christmas at the Home Farm Vets is the second title in the Hartfell Village series, featuring Erin and Oli, who have a bit of history from a decade ago. Now he’s a visiting vet, and she’s his landlord. Dare they revisit history with a different outcome this time?

I had such a good time with Erin and Oli. They have a complicated relationship right now, a maybe we can do this, but what if it won’t work kind of feel. It’s going to take some trust and willingness to take a few risks before their happy ending can come about. Between working together, living in the same space, and well-meaning family and friends, this is a fun, entertaining romance with all the specialness of the holidays mixed in. At times, the animals (who are mostly adorable) will steal scenes from the humans… which is entirely expected. (grin)

If you love a well-written, believable, emotional romance that mixes the past and the present, animal encounters, and a couple you can’t help but root for their happy ending, then Christmas at the Home Farm Vets by Suzanne Snow is a perfect Christmas fit for you.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is the second title in the Hartfell Village series and follows Erin who has taken up a full time position as a vet in the Dales. She loves all things farm work, the great outdoors and specifically a great cup of Yorkshire Tea.

As Christmas draws near and the vet practice is getting busier, they need to hire a locum to support them and Erin offers her spare room to whomever they find.

Along comes Oli who Erin went to vet school with and whom might be the one that got away...

Now she has him staying in her spare room for three weeks bringing back memories of what could have been all those years ago whilst having to work AND live together.

This is well written and well researched, leaving the reader caring for all the characters and the animals alike.
There are plenty of well meaning family, friends and colleagues with whom you can also draw comparisons with making this an easy going, heartwarming fast paced read.

If you like a cosy, wrapped up in a blanket winter romance that has you rooting for a happy ending, this is for you!

I received a free copy of this book via LoveBook Tours, Canelo Press and the author in return for an honest review and for sharing on my Bookstagram @readwithsteff

I gave this 4 out of 5 stars as it followed the usual style of a holiday romance. A few more unexpected twists might move this to 5, but still a solid read that I would recommend to any friends or family!!

Thankyou Suzanne Snow

OMG Suzanne Snow has done it again…. Another absolutely heartwarming story about second (and occasionally third) chances at love.
Erin is the new vet in Heartfell who is settling well into her new life and job with an amazing team when Gil, the owner of the Vets announces they are bringing another vet into the company over Christmas to help while himself and the family go away to Australia.
Erin was told it was going to be a female vet who she agreed to house while in the area but then the situation changes and a gentleman arrives instead who happens to be an ex uni friend of Erin’s who she hasn’t seen for years since they graduated.
Things set off a bit awkward to begin with as forgotten feelings reappear between them but to keep it professional Erin and Oli agree to keep their feelings under lock and key when out in public and at work.
Christmas Day arrives and unfortunately Erin is on call although her mum is supposed to be joining her for the day but due to the heavy snowfall her mums taxi cancels on them. While Erin leaves for an emergency situation and Oli in charge of finishing off the preparation for dinner and dealing with the turkey, Oli is planning the best surprise and present he could give Erin.….

What a lovely book this is.
I fell in love with it from the first page. Having worked in the veterinary industry for many years I could certainly relate to much of what was happening and how it was expressed. I did laugh out loud at the line ‘she left the consulting room as spotless as she’d found it’ unfortunately I did not work with many of these vets, in fact it reminded me of one who seemed to manage to use everything and not put a single thing back!

It’s what you expect from this genre and what the gorgeous cover suggests, a nice cute Christmasy read. Ten years after leaving Oli and a possible relationship behind, Erin finds herself playing landlord to him. What follows is a lovely tale of self discovery, reflection and learning to move on and realise maybe everything isn’t always what it seems.

I loved the dynamics between all the characters and their friendships, relationships and the sense of community. The characters are all well developed and the scenes so well described, that you will feel like you are there.

I laughed at this great line too….‘Yorkshire puddings went with everything’ so true!!
So all in all, grab a hot chocolate, a cosy blanket and settle down for a fabulously festive read.

I didn't realise this was the 2nd book in the Hartfell Village series, however I didn't feel like I needed to have read the 1st book in order to enjoy this one. I definitely will be going back to read it though.

Set in the Dale's, we follow Erin who has set up home in a quaint little village & is focusing mainly on her career as a veterinarian. Things are running smoothly that is until a locum turns up to help over the holiday season & it's none other than the one guy who gave her, her first kiss, Oli Sterling.

This was super cute! I loved the setting & honestly thought so many times throughout the story that I'd absolutely love to live in Hartfell Village. It came across as quaint, full of community spirit & just so cosy.

I loved seeing Erin & Oli's story play out. It was clear they still had a connection despite the past. Their banter was cute, cheeky and Palpable. For sure I was rooting for them. Oli has a lot more patience than me however, how many times did Erin not ever let him explain but still he didn't lose hope or love.

This book is perfect for fans of small town romance, second chances & all the cosy vibes.

Thank you to LoveBooksTours, Suzanne Snow & Canelo Books for a physical copy of this book & tour opportunity.

Set in the Yorkshire Dales, this will certainly get you in the festive mood. A cosy setting, romance, characters you’ll love, cute animals and plenty of fun along the way.

Erin moved to the veterinary practice in Yorkshire after graduating from Cambridge University. While at university she had her heart broken by Oli, a fellow vet student. Now he’s arrived in the village of Hartfell as a locum at Erin’s practice. Not only that, but he’s sharing Erin’s cosy little cottage.

The novel follows Erin and Oli as they navigate their new lives together, as well as showing flashbacks to when they first met at university and the reason why they haven’t spoken since. There’s plenty of laughs along the way and bumps in the road, as they combine their work and personal lives with a new boyfriend, family, friends and work colleagues.

I loved following both their stories, understanding the problems they’ve both faced in the past and seeing how they overcome their difficulties to try and be together.

Being a Yorkshire girl through and through, I loved the setting of this book and Yorkshire puddings definitely go with everything!

Thank you to LoveBooksTours, Suzanne Snow & Canelo Books for a digital copy of this book.

Christmas at the Home Farm Vets is a cosy festive read about second chance love and the importance of family. Although I hadn't read the first book in the series, I still really enjoyed reading this one as it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone.

Although I've never been to Yorkshire I could imagine the gorgeous rolling countryside and the Yorkshire Moors. Since I live in Cornwall I was thinking of Bodmin Moor while I was reading; beautiful open countryside as far as the eye can see.

It's obvious from the very start of the book that Erin is extremely apprehensive about seeing Oli again; not only working with him but also sharing her home with him! It's an incredibly awkward situation but she knows that the Vet Practice need the help and she has to put her own feelings aside.

I really enjoyed the flashback chapters to their Uni days showing how they bonded and became so close, before Erin had her heart broken. It becomes very clear exactly why its hard for her to see Oli again, but I was hopeful that they could overcome the past, if they could just communicate with each other.

I adored Erin's family; she's very close with her mum and grandparents and it was so heart-warming to read about their Christmas traditions. It's obvious that they didn't have much money but were just happy to have each other; the Christmas spirit oozed from the pages.

Overall, this was a delightfully cosy read set in a small town, with likeable characters, gorgeous scenery and lots of cute animals. A perfect Christmas read.

Erin and Oli met at Veterinary college at St Catherine’s at Cambridge University. They had an undeniable spark and romantic chemistry but due to huge miscommunication, they never went beyond a first kiss. Years later they are drawn to working together again in a Yorkshire village called Hartwell.

This is a cosy, festive read but be prepared for feeling frustrated due to constant miscommunication between Erin and Oli. Several times I found myself wanting to shake Erin and tell her to open up to Oli and be honest!

Despite being frustrated with the miscommunication I loved Erin and Oli’s characters. Both characters were dealing with their own hurt from the past which was preventing them from opening up and admitting their true feelings to each other. Erin was determined and focused to make a success with her career as a vet. Oli was an old romantic who would do what it took to bring a smile to Erin’s face, constantly thoughtful, he gave soul mate vibes. I loved the village of Hartwell and the close knit community feel gave me quaint and cosy Christmas village vibes. Definitely the perfect Christmas read!

❤️Small town
❤️ Second chance romance
❤️ Forced Proximity
❤️ Workplace romance
❤️ Friends to lovers
❤️ Miscommunication

Although this is book 2 of the series, it can be read as a standalone, I hadn’t read book one but that didn’t cause me any trouble.

Thank you LBT for having me on book review tour and for my gifted copy of this epub!!!

I love this author anytime I see her books come across I have to sign up so fast.

This book was so good. I love a good Christmas book and this book didn’t disappoint in the least.

We follow Erin's and Oli's story and it’s so good. I was so invested. I was rooting for them the entire book. I seriously just wanted them together already. They met at university and life had other plans for them and they went a long time not seeing each other. Now he’s living with her and I mean it’s real and messy and so so good. It’s like anything else in life relationships are hard.

I absolutely loved the setting I’ve never been to anywhere like this village in the Yorkshire Dale's but the descriptions wow. Makes me want to visit like asap. I’ve always dreamed of visiting a place like this especially at Christmas I love Christmas it’s my favorite time of year and I want to visit a place that is like a hallmark movie.

This is the perfect book to read in front of the fire with hot chocolate so so good !!! Loved every min of it. I need more Christmas books. Feeling so sad this year!!!

Erin works as a vet in the village of Hartwell—which she has done since she left university— and is pretty happy with her life and how it’s panned out. That is until the veterinary practice requires a temporary vet to join and who might that be, none other than Oli— the guy that broke her heart in university.

Not only do they end up being forced to work together Oli needs a place to stay and ends up renting a room from Erin. Whilst trying to keep their relationship strictly professional in order to keep working along side each other dedicated to their jobs, tension arises and neither one of them can help but give into temptation and resulting in a blossoming romantic relationship.

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book even without reading the first. The wintery Christmas atmosphere has definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.

If you love tropes such as:
•forced proximity
•small-town romance
•second chance romance
•animal companions
•workplace romance
•found family
•slow-burn romance

then this is definitely the book for you and it will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit.

Cosy romance - tick, Christmas Romance - tick, Yorkshire romance - tick, reunited love, forced proximity, only one bed - tick, tick, tick. This had all the makings of a wonderful festive romcom and was perfectly executed.
It was great to be back in Hartfell, I was glad to see the characters from book 1 (especially Dorothy) back in fine form! We got to see the story of Erin and Oli here. Erin, a vet in Hartfell, and Oli, the one who got away/never really got started at University who comes to help with some locum work at the Hartfell practice where Erin is making a home for herself. It's very quick to see that they have immense chemistry and when they gave in it was electric.
I absolutely adored Marnie, and always think a sweet animal does wonders to a romance. There was lots of other animal speak throughout, obviously perhaps in a book featuring vets, and it gave me a real appreciation to the work vets do, especially those who do farm work as well as animal companion work.
I loved Oli, he was the sweetest book boyfriend.
I hope there will be more to come from Hartfell as its such a magical Yorkshire village.

Title: Christmas At Home Farm Vets
 Author: Suzanne Snow
Genre: Romance
Pages: 279
Publisher: Canelo Romance

Since I’ve been a young girl I’ve loved everything animals. It was my dream job to become a vet. I wanted to be like Mandy Hope from the Animal Ark books or the vets I used enjoy watching on Vets In Practice. Also being a Yorkshire girl myself I knew I needed to pick up this book as it would be just my thing. Add in festive cosiness it’s the perfect recipe.

I can’t speak any highly of this book I just absolutely loved it. It was the perfect book to get lost in on a wintry day. Suzanne has written the perfect balance of every element and created the perfect story. From the forced proximity to rekindled love and a truly heartwarming story it was just absolutely perfect. I’ve read a few series like this in the past and I think this maybe up there with my favourite and I will be definitely be adding book one to my TBR. Reading this one first wasn’t a problem at all and can totally help a standalone.

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was exactly what I needed to get me into the festive mood.

This is the perfect festive second chance romance which follows Erin, a vet in Hartfell, as she re-encounters Oli, a fellow veterinary student at Cambridge and now the new cover at the vet practice Erin work at, and the feelings that reignite soon after. But with the end of Oli's contract fast approaching and no signs he wants to stay, will Erin have her heart broken once again?

I really enjoyed the flash backs to Erin and Oli's at Cambridge and felt it really fleshed out the story and characters rather than just having the characters tell us what had happened.

It was also very refreshing reading a romance set in the UK which I haven't read many of and I think added to the cosy countryside vibes.

If you are looking for a cosy festive romance with characters you can fall in love with then this should be your next read!

Just marvellous! Suzanne Snow has done it again! What a joy to return to Hartfell for the second book in this series.

Suzanne’s writing is beautifully descriptive and I was effortlessly transported to the Yorkshire Dales. I could really visualise the rural landscape in winter; feel the warmth of Erin’s cosy cottage and hear the braying from Posy and Flo.

I found Erin to be very relatable in terms of her characteristics. With a strong work ethic; a deep sense of connection to her family; a fondness for brass bands; and she lives on ‘proper brews’. That’s my kind of girl and I instantly warmed to Erin.

I absolutely adored Erin’s Nan, Joyce, with her no-nonsense, Yorkshire humour. The dialogue is so amusing at times that I was almost crying with laughter.

Reading this books fills me with nothing but admiration for rural Vets. Suzanne’s research shines through with the vivid portrayal of the realistic demands of rural Veterinary practice - in all weathers, at all times of day and night, and attending to no end of conditions and emergencies!

A festively comforting and entertaining read; you’ll be rooting for Erin and Oli!

Erin and Oli have history in their uni days and now when their paths cross again, with him turning up in her village, she allows him to stay in her cottage and becomes his landlord. Oli is locum working at the veterinary practice where Erin also works. Their relationship has it's complexities, but sometimes second chances bring healing and heartfelt moments.
I loved Erin and Oli's story. As a fibromyalgia sufferer myself I loved seeing the representation of this within this book as Erin's mums experience.

I adored the characters within this book and the community and it was a pure joy to be immersed in quiet village life of the yorkshire dales. The authenticity of village life and a working community was on point in this book.

This book was everything I love; festive vibes, forced proximity, enemies to lovers and small town vibes and Suzanne absolutely did a great job with these tropes. I'm very keen to read more by Suzanne Snow. What a beautifully cosy festive read this was.

This was such a warm and uplifting festive read. I was completely drawn into the snowy Yorkshire setting, with its cosy cottages, close-knit community, and the everyday challenges of rural veterinary life. The descriptions made me feel like I was right there, hearing the animals, watching the winter landscapes, and sharing in the village spirit.

Erin was a wonderful main character. I admired her dedication to her work, her love for animals, and the way she balanced her responsibilities with her personal life. Oli’s arrival added both tension and charm to the story. Their shared history gave the romance an emotional depth, and I enjoyed watching them navigate old feelings while working side by side.

The supporting characters added so. Erin’s family and friends, especially her Nan, brought humour and warmth, and the community atmosphere made the story feel even more special. The mix of romance, friendship, and village life gave the book a comforting balance.

The final school run is upon us, the carol concerts have taken place and I've finished my first Christmas book of the season.

This book is everything and more. We follow the lives of Erin who is settling into life as a vet in rural Yorkshire..as Christmas approaches the locum is joining them for three short weeks and Erin has offered for them to stay with her.... That is until the locum has to change and it's a blast for her past instead.

Lots of heartwarming stories of Christmas family traditions and life in a job that doesn't stop (not even on Christmas day!). A book of misunderstandings and fear but ultimately a book of love. A book about the need to trust.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. In the midst of a busy season it's nice to have some pure escapism and read such a lovely and fun book.

When Erin and Oli's worlds collide after a few years apart, they are both vets and Oli is now going to be living with her for a few months. They both cannot believe this is happening and they seem to be getting on well but when Oli's contract at the vets comes to an end Erin is sad but she does not know how Oli is feeling towards her, should she say something or just let him go? It was an easy and light hearted story, the characters were relatable. I did feel as though I would of liked more of the vet and animal side of things rather than the will they? won't they? this is book two in the Hartfell Village Series and can be read as a standalone. It was a good pick up read but I felt as though the story petered off halfway through.

Omg I absolutely loved this book. I loved the characters, I loved the small village it was set in and I loved the story. This is a dreamy Christmas book, set in a rural small village, where a vet not only has to house a locum vet in her home but finds out the locum vet is in fact her uni boyfriend . The story that follows is beautiful but also shows the harsh realities of rural vet life . Her cottage sounds absolutely perfect and after finishing this book, it made me want to find somewhere to go to do Christmas shopping that would give me this vibe. I don’t realise that there was a previous book in this series and I will be reading it. Super, super book

An absolutely beautiful story of friendship, family and love that felt like a hug in a book.

I truly adore all the characters in this wonderful tale. I would have loved more interactions with Dorothy but that’s just me being selfish.
It has lovely representation as well as touching on harder topics such as grief (including the loss of a pet), divorce and sexuality (briefly discussed).
It really gives that small town community vibe.

I really enjoyed the beginning when we switched from past to present and loved Erin & Oli’s meet-cute, it made me smile.
I just wished there was more of their past and a slightly deeper explanation as to why went their separate ways.

Perfect cosy read that’s has all the festive feels yet can be enjoyed all year long.

Thank you to Love Book Tours, Canelo Books and Suzanne Snow for my physical copy to read and review. Erin has settling into life in the Yorkshire Dales.
She has her dream job of a rural vet, has bought her own cottage and feels like she is achieving her life goals. But then Oli appears.
Oli arrives as a locum vet in the village for three weeks before Christmas and Oli and Erin have a history. They were at uni together and a chance at a relationship then never really got started.
Now they are thrown back together. Can they be friends? Will it be awkward? Can it be more? And Oli is leaving again in three weeks.
This is the perfect pre-Christmas cosy holiday read. All Creatures Great and Small with a strong splash of romance thrown in.
I loved this book. I enjoyed the flashbacks when we saw Oli and Erin as they were 7 years ago. I fell in love with the location. I could just see (and smell) the fresh air, the rolling hills, the dry-stone walls, I could hear the many and varied animals and adored the community feel in the village and the community.
Oli sounded wonderful. I’m not sure how Erin ever resisted him. Kind, thoughtful, and an animal lover, we could tell from the started he was fixated with Erin.
A cosy and romantic read. Grab a hot drink, snuggle up and enjoy this book. It’s the second in the series and Im keen to read book 1. Thanks again Suzanne.

This is a lovely and cosy story that absolutely hooked me in right from the start and kept me in its clutches all the way through. It was alive with warmth and friendship and I didn't want it to end.

The writing was engaging and made the story come alive, I felt like I was watching a movie at times, the story line was wonderful with a real small town cosy vibe whilst also dealing with some hard hitting subjects which just made it seem all the more real.
The characters were well developed and were by far my most favourite thing about the book, I loved them and I wanted to jump in between the pages and spend time with them.

I loved it and would highly recommend if you are looking for a cosy winter read
