The Mafia Orc At The Beach And Me: A Dark-ish Friends to Lovers Romance Novella

Rate this book
When estranged friends Camilla and Harris reunite after over a decade apart, they find that their fractured bond might be all they have left to keep them alive.

Elf and mage, Camila, goes on a solo vacation to the beach, ready for total relaxation and no surprises. Unfortunately, that’s not what a certain orc who disappeared from her life long ago had in store for her.

Harris, head of a powerful orc crime family, has spent years tracking Camilla from the shadows, protecting her from threats she never knew existed. Now he’s done staying away. Following her to the beach was supposed to be his chance to slip back into her life, claim the woman he never stopped wanting, and finally tell her the truth about why he pushed her away.

But danger follows him everywhere. And this time, it’s found her too.

When a curse from an unseen enemy forces them to remain together or face certain death, coupled with and frightening encounters from a ghostly presence, the pair wonder if they are being targeted by more than a rival criminal gang.

Forced into close quarters with the man who broke her heart, Camilla must decide whether she can trust the orc who’s always been her weakness. Because Harris isn’t just fighting to keep her alive—he’s fighting to keep her.

And he’s not losing her a second time.

This is a friends to lovers, spicy, novella spin off of How to Fail at Escaping an Alpha Orc, which you don't have to read first.

Harris is a stubborn Orc who has been in love with Camilla for years. Her powers are doing weird things and she ids trying to figure out why. She has also been secretly in love with Harris for years.
Harris, after being convinced goes to the beach for a vacation and to spend time with Camilla. Someone tries to kill them and they end up spending a lot of time together and confessing their love. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait for the next book to come out.

A follow-up book about the grumpy brother from book 3... sign me up. Harris was absolutely obsessed with Camilla. 15 years in the making. This was such a well-rounded story to be under 200 pages. We got a very detailed friends-to-lovers backstory, an unhinged and devoted MMC who called her "princess" ( ate that shit up), and action. I really enjoyed this book, and I'm excited for the new releases coming out for this series.

A friends to lovers, second chances, and paranormal romance tale. Maillard and Harris’ story. A story with orcs, elves, humans, and creatures that includes interactions, connections, chemistry, spice, romance, bonds, danger, curses, action, and drama.

Second Chance

This book was a quick read for me. It paced well. Friends to Lovers gives more of a second chance romance for the MMC and FMC. This time around I'm glad Harris opened up and admitted everything to Camilla and she was receptive. Great job!

Fun Fantasy read

This was a fun story centering around Harris and Camilla! Their story was a quick one full of spice and some low level action!
