Get ready for this forbidden, cowboy, bodyguard romance!
Meet the heroes of Lone Star Security. Cowboy bodyguards forged under the Texas sun. Dangerous when they have to be, gentle when it counts, these ranch-bred alphas wear Stetsons over steel and carry more scars than they’ll admit. They don’t do anything halfway. Instead, they do sunup to sundown, with dust on their boots and love in their hearts. These protectors will ride through hell and high water to prove worthy of the women they love.
Start 2026 with a bang. This January, these bodyguards discover the best part of falling in love is breaking protocol for a kiss worth the risk.
When Eve London was a girl she wanted to be a trapeze artist. Instead, she grew up to be like most women–a juggler–trying to keep bunches of balls in the air. Now she spends her days writing about the kind of men she likes – sexy, shameless, and just a little bit sarcastic.
Assigned to protect her. He became her shield, her home, and her choice.
Marisol is barely staying afloat. Between a full-time job, college classes, and raising her teenage brother, she’s out of time, out of options, and stretched too thin to breathe. The last thing she expects is to be swept into something dangerous, or to have the quiet, older cowboy next door suddenly tasked with keeping her safe.
Caleb lives by rules. Stay focused. Stay detached. Stay in control. But when Marisol becomes his responsibility, everything starts to crack. The woman he’s silently looked out for is now the one he can’t ignore. Every glance tightens the tension. Every moment alone pushes him closer to a line he knows he shouldn't cross.
As the threat circles closer, forced proximity turns guarded trust into something deeper. Caleb steps in as more than just her bodyguard. He becomes her steady place to land. And for the first time in years, Marisol lets someone else carry some of the weight.
But protection doesn’t equal peace. And wanting someone doesn’t make it simple. Together, they’ll have to choose what kind of future they’re willing to fight for, one built on trust, not fear, and a love that feels like home.
Marisol and Caleb grow from two people stuck in survival mode into a partnership built on choice. She learns that leaning on someone doesn’t make her weaker. He learns that control means nothing without connection. What begins as quiet awareness becomes slow-burning intimacy, tested by danger and anchored in trust.
A steamy, age gap, forbidden, bodyguard, cowboy, grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, protective hero, small town romance, exploring trust, healing, resilience, personal growth, and love. It’s about crossing lines for the right reasons, choosing connection over control, finding strength in vulnerability, and a love that becomes home.
The Elevator Pitch: A tense and emotional cowboy bodyguard romance where forbidden attraction collides with real danger. The connection between protector and protected simmers through slow burn tension, forced proximity, and hard-won trust. It's intimate, high-stakes, and rooted in healing, loyalty, and love that feels like coming home.
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a great grumpy sunshine romance. It was a well written story with a good pace. The storyline was entertaining and had some suspense. I liked the dynamic between Caleb and Marisol, they were very well matched. It was an enjoyable read.
This was an exciting story filled with suspense and action. While I was all caught up in the tension between Marisol and Caleb, I was so invested in the story to keep Marisol and Lucas safe. This was definitely a page turner that pulls you right in.

“Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard” by Eve London is an absolute gem—Book 11 in the Lone Star Security Romance series, and it doesn’t disappoint! This page-turner combines sizzling romance, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and action-packed drama, all set against a backdrop of age-gap tension and the irresistible grumpy/sunshine dynamic. The way professional responsibility clashes with personal desires makes the stakes feel real and urgent, keeping you hooked from start to finish.
Marisol Vega is truly inspiring as the heroine. Juggling college, a full-time job, and raising her teenage brother after losing their parents, she’s a beacon of strength and sweetness. Her resilience and warmth shine through, and it’s impossible not to root for her.
Caleb Stone, the brooding ex-military cowboy, is the perfect match for Marisol. His protective nature and quiet acts of kindness—fixing things around her house, watching over her and Lucas—add so much heart to the story. As a Lone Star Security operative, Caleb is the quintessential tough guy with a vulnerable side, and his struggle to keep his emotions in check is both moving and relatable.
The plot heats up when Lucas gets entangled with dangerous people, forcing Marisol, Lucas and Caleb into life-or-death situations. The Lone Star Security crew steps in, and Caleb’s role as Marisol’s bodyguard brings the tension and chemistry to a fever pitch. Despite the “no romance with assets” rule, Caleb’s heart is at risk, and when he breaks the rules, sparks absolutely fly!
This novella delivers Insta-Love perfection and is absolutely a 5-star read. Cameos from other beloved Eve London characters add a delightful touch for fans. The happily-ever-after ending is satisfying in every way—uplifting, heartwarming, and guaranteed to leave you with a big smile. The characters are so likeable and real, the romantic tension is palpable, and the steamy moments are balanced with genuine emotion. I found myself unable to put this book down; it’s that good!
If you love romance with depth, action, and just the right amount of heat, “Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard” deserves a spot at the top of your reading list. Highly recommended!.

A search for a safe haven can lead you to a person—not just a place.
Caleb Stone keeps a close eye on the property next door to him. Not because he expects trouble but to help whenever he can. Marisol Vega has had so much piled on her shoulders, and at such a young age, too. He knows he's too old for her, as if she'd ever look in his direction. She'll never know that the highlight of his day is seeing her in the morning when she leaves for work and gives him a big smile.
Marisol is known to everyone in Valor Springs as a hard worker and a dedicated college student who came to town after the death of her parents to care for her teenage brother, Lucas. They moved into the rental next door to Caleb.
Caleb doesn't mind helping Marisol and Lucas whenever he can. He'd only learned to care for neighbors after he became one of Moma Mae's foster sons. It was only there that he learned about being part of a loving family and caring for and about others. He's between assignments at Lone Star Security, so he's helping out at the Laredo Ranch, one of the larger ranches in the area. At heart he's always been a cowboy, and he'll always remain one.
He had joined the Army right after high school and served for fifteen years before deciding it was time to return home. His father was a rancher but a very poor manager, and as a result, he had lost his ranch. He gave up on life after that. Caleb is certain he can love the land without it destroying him in the process. He's bought a few acres and a few horses to make himself feel at home.
He senses that something is really bothering her; something concerning her brother, Lucas. He was correct. Trying to earn some money, Lucas had gotten a delivery job. Only the delivery job was for the wrong people. People only stop working for them via a bullet. Then he gets a phone call from Lone Star Security informing him that he has a new assignment—keeping Marisol and Lucas safe. Clients are strictly off-limits, but he can't give up Marisol or not protect Lucas. There's only one safe place to take them. To Moma Mae's in Broken Bend...

Caleb Stone loved watching his neighbor, Marisol Vega in the morning as she headed off to work. He loved helping her since she worked so much at the hospital and everyone in Valor Springs knew how she lost her parents and had come back to care for her brother, Lucas. Caleb had been in the Army and now worked for Lone Star Security.
With her working so much and her falling behind on the everyday chores, he fixes things and helps out. She has noticed that Lucas’ friends are acting differently and her gut is telling her that something is up. She was right and he had gotten in over his head. Now Caleb gets a notice from his boss that Lucas and Marisol are in trouble and he is assigned to protect her because of it. Things get scary and Lucas is nasty at first with him, but then he realizes just what can happen to Marisol now because of him. Then things get even scarier and they get out and head from Broken Bend and Mama Mae. I love Mama Mae’s boys. All of the stories are awesome. But, I think I like this one the most now.
it brought tears to my eyes when Marisol and Lucas realize that they are safe. Mama Mae is like a warm hug, warmth, and everything that is good. I swear that Mama Mae could be a general and an interrogator and take over the world, and it would be a good thing. lol. The book just hits you in the feels. Seeing Lucas change made me cry. I was upset when Marisol wanted to start rebuilding her life right away. It seemed silly to me as a lot of people have to wait weeks or months or more to be safe in a situation like that. I was right and something scary happens next. Finally, Caleb and Marisol admit that they are interested in each other and things get romantic and steamy. Then things get scary again, but this leads to the end, with the light at the end of the tunnel for them. I was so happy to see a happy ending and loved how everyone worked together to bring the bad guys down. The end after the aftermath was poignant and beautiful and the life they make is just awesome. I can’t wait to read the next book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard (Lone Star Security) by Eve London
Quiet longing, slow-burn tension, and a protector who falls hard. This one hit me right in the chest. Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard is a beautifully emotional, age-gap bodyguard romance that leans into restraint, responsibility, and yearning—and makes every stolen look feel electric.
Caleb is the kind of hero who protects before he ever touches. Older, steady, and deeply honorable, he notices Marisol long before he’s supposed to. Watching him help from the sidelines—fixing fences, watching over her brother, easing her burdens without asking for anything back—made his eventual internal conflict feel so real. When she becomes his assignment, the forbidden tension ramps up perfectly. He knows the rules. He just doesn’t know how to stop wanting her.
Marisol is a standout heroine. She’s exhausted, selfless, and carrying far too much on her shoulders, yet she never feels weak. Her devotion to her brother and determination to keep going made me root for her immediately. The trust she places in Caleb—because he’s safe, reliable, and kind—adds an extra layer of emotional intensity when lines start to blur.
This story shines in the quiet moments: loaded silences, lingering glances, and the ache of wanting what you shouldn’t. It’s tender, protective, and deeply romantic without needing over-the-top drama.
If you love forbidden bodyguard romances, age-gap dynamics, cowboy protectors, and slow-burn tension that pays off emotionally, this one is absolutely worth the read. 💙🤠🔥.

Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard by Eve London is a fast, emotionally charged romance that blends danger, devotion, and the kind of slow-burn longing that hits you right in the chest.
What makes this story shine is the emotional foundation beneath the suspense. Marisol is a strong, independent FMC who’s doing everything she can to keep her family afloat, even when it costs her sleep, peace, and safety. Caleb’s protectiveness doesn’t come from dominance—it comes from respect, patience, and a deep understanding of responsibility. He sees her strength, but he also sees her exhaustion, and he wants to be the place she can finally rest.
The action ramps up quickly, with genuinely tense moments that keep you on edge, especially once Caleb takes Marisol and her brother to Maggie Mae’s ranch—his old foster mother’s place—for safety. The danger feels real, the stakes are high, and the pull between Caleb and Marisol only grows stronger the more they try to resist it.
In the end, this story isn’t just about protection—it’s about choosing family, choosing love, and choosing to risk everything for someone who already feels like home. Caleb and Marisol’s HEA includes her brother, too, making it all the more satisfying.
If you love protective cowboys, forbidden attraction, older heroes, and romantic suspense that moves fast without losing emotional depth, Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard is a quick, gripping read that absolutely delivers.

There’s something quietly powerful about Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard. This isn’t a loud, flashy romance—it’s a slow ache of want, responsibility, and lines that get harder to see the closer you stand to them.
Caleb won me over almost immediately. He’s steady, observant, and protective in the small, everyday ways that matter most—fixing what’s broken, showing up without being asked, noticing how tired Marisol is even when she never says it out loud. His restraint feels earned, not forced, which makes every moment of tension between them crackle just a little more.
Marisol is just as compelling. She’s carrying the weight of adulthood far too early, balancing school, work, and her brother with grit and grace. She doesn’t need saving—but having someone who chooses her, supports her, and sees her makes all the difference.
The bodyguard angle adds delicious conflict without overwhelming the heart of the story. The age gap, the “don’t touch her” rule, the small-town closeness—it all blends into a romance that feels emotional first and steamy second, which I loved.
If you enjoy forbidden romances where longing simmers under the surface, heroes who fall hard but fight it harder, and heroines who are strong without being hardened, this one is a satisfying, swoony read.

Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard delivers exactly what readers expect from a Lone Star Security romance: strong chemistry, protective tension, and a satisfying blend of romance and suspense. Eve London crafts a story that moves quickly while still giving space for emotional connection to develop.
The bodyguard trope is well executed here, with the “forbidden” aspect adding consistent tension throughout the story. The cowboy bodyguard is convincingly protective and heroic without feeling overdone, while the heroine is likable and emotionally grounded. Their interactions are charged from the start, making the romance feel intense and engaging.
The suspense elements complement the romance nicely, keeping the plot moving and giving the relationship real stakes beyond attraction alone. The pacing is brisk, making this an easy, page-turning read, especially for fans of contemporary romance who enjoy a mix of danger and desire.
I would recommend this book to readers looking for a steamy, character-driven romance with protective hero vibes, Texas flavor, and just enough suspense to raise the tension. Fans of cowboy romances and bodyguard tropes will likely enjoy this installment in the Lone Star Security series.

His Neighbourly Love Connection - Caleb had been crushing on Marisol since she moved in next door, so he always tried helping her out, even without her asking. Marisol’s life was all about working, going to school and taking care of her brother, so the last thing on her mind was relationships. However, everything changed when Marisol’s younger brother got into trouble, that led to a threat on their lives. Caleb did everything possible to keep Marisol and her brother safe, which led to them spending time in close proximity and engaging in a steamy dalliance.
Unfortunately, whilst Caleb tried to help Marisol her stubbornness made it difficult for him, but she soon realised the truth of the problem when they found themselves in a dangerous situation. Luckily, Caleb was able to deal with the help of his colleagues, which gave him and Marisol a chance to have a wonderful life together. This story had me hooked from the first page and kept me eagerly turning the pages until I reached the end. The mix of angst, suspense, steam and the slow-burn romance ensured I had a great reading experience. This is a definite must read book.

Marisol is in Valor Springs trying to get her life back on track while taking care of her teenage brother, Lucas. They end up living next door to Caleb - an ex-military guy who works for Lone Star Security and helps out on farms when he’s not on protection duty. There’s an undeniable pull between Caleb and Marisol, even though he’s older and very much thinks he shouldn’t be feeling that way. When Lucas gets into trouble, Caleb steps in without hesitation, and when things take a dangerous turn, he takes them to Broken Bend - back to the farm where he grew up with Mama Mae.
This was a short, quick read that felt really sweet but still had a nice touch of suspense. I’ve enjoyed many of Ms London’s Mama Mae stories (the One Night and One Ride series and many other books), and I loved that Mama Mae played a bigger role in this one. It was especially heartwarming seeing Marisol and Lucas finally find safety and comfort with her at Broken Bend, and with Caleb.
This book is part of the multi-author Lone Star Security series, and honestly, I’ve had such a good time with so many of the books in this series!.

A fast moving story with lots of action as Caleb starts helping his neighbor, Marisol who was raising her teenage brother, after their parents were killed in an accident. Then he gets the call from Lonestar Security that Marisol's brother was in trouble with some guys, he was carrying some packages for, when he accidentally saw to much. Lonestar was now in charge of security for both of them with Caleb's primary charge being Marisol. She was a strong independent woman doing her best to make it on her own. She worked double shifts at the hospital trying to make ends meet. She had no idea that her brother had taken the job that landed him this mess. Caleb had strong feelings for Marisol before his assignment. She always excepted his help around the house before the incident with grace. Finally, for their protection Caleb took them to Maggie Mae's ranch his old foster mother's place. The suspense was intense at times leaving you on the edge you chair. In the end Caleb and Marisol found a home with each other including her brother.

This was a fast paced book that packed a lot of storyline and danger into it. Caleb works for Lone Star Security and while falling for his neighbour from afar gets put on her protection duty. Marisol is a much younger nursing student trying to keep herself and her little brother afloat. They get caught up in a dangerous situation that forces them and Caleb together. I found that storyline took more of a centre stage approach than the chemistry or relationship did. I also felt like they held each other at arms length for most of the book and it seemed like Marisol didn’t like him in parts. I didn’t really understand why she fought him and blamed him so much when he was literally keeping her alive. Her little brother was also 15 but seemed much younger in some parts. I did really enjoy getting to see Mama Mae play a much bigger role in this one than other books though. I always feel like we get glimpses of the woman, but we got to know her more in this one. No cheating or OM/OW drama, age gap, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue 2 years in the future. Looking forward to reading more of Mama Mae’s boys books and maybe even Lucas’s in the future.
*Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard* by Eve London is the 11th book in the multi-author series *Lone Star Security Romance*. The love story of Caleb and Marisol is fast-paced and full of suspense, keeping you hooked from the first page to the last. Both characters are complex in their own way: Marisol is raising her brother while working full-time, reluctant to ask for help from anyone. On the other hand, Caleb lives by strict rules, guarding his heart, and is not looking for any type of relationship.
However, when Marisol's brother gets into trouble, Caleb is assigned to protect her and keep her safe. As they navigate this situation, they both begin to lower their walls, allowing each other in and learning to depend on one another. Their connection grows stronger, leading them to fight for what they truly want. This slow-burning romance becomes even more satisfying when they finally give in to their feelings and find their happily ever after.

This book may be short, but it doesn’t lack in character or storyline development. Marisol is a heroine to be admired. She is raising her younger brother while trying to finish college and working full time. She is resilient, determined to keep moving toward her goals and to always be a strong supporter and guiding influence for her brother. Marisol has a warm, generous heart, but accepting or asking for help is hard for her.
That’s why Caleb quietly does his best to help her whenever her can. He is former military, values control and rules, and is a tad grumpy and gruff. When trouble comes for Marisol, Caleb steps up to protector her and her brother. He shows her that she can rely on him, and that it is okay to lean on someone else. The attraction is mutual, though both try to control and hide it. Gradually, they let each other in, let their vulnerabilities show and open their hearts to loving each other.
This grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity romance is a gripping read. It has my full recommendation.
Her Forbidden Cowboy Bodyguard by Eve London is part of the multi author series A Lone Star Security Romance and its a good short read ideal for an afternoon escape when you need something steamy. The plot and storyline is emotive and engaging especially with the main characters Caleb, the bodyguard and neighbour, and, Marisol, struggling nurse, student and guardian to younger brother Lucas. The story is well written and you are invested in the outcome as they recognise the mutual attraction they feel but can't act on as the lives of Lucas and Marisol are threatened and Lone Star Security is engaged to protect. Their chemistry still simmers despite the danger and keeps you turning the pages to see how their HEA comes about.

Be brave enough to try for something different...something more
Caleb is one of Mama Mae's Boys, a foster kid who found his first real home on her ranch. He left to prove himself, but realises that returning and asking his brothers for help, means far more than being strong on his own ever will. Marisol is barely surviving, definitely not living, so when yet another blow comes she is close to breaking. Caleb asking her to trust him feels like a step too far, it will be the bravest thing she has ever done...but also the most rewarding. I really like Caleb, he's calm, dependable and patient...all of which means more to Marisol than big, loud, flashy and over the top. Mama Mae shows them, in her own unique way, love isn't always easy, it just has to be strong. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
I absolutely loved this book! Age gap/next door neighbors. Marisol is definitely a strong, independent woman taking care of her brother after a tragic incident happened to their parents. She’s not only going to school, but she’s working at a hospital. Caleb is her next door neighbor who helps her any way he can-he’s great at fixes things. He works for Lone Star Security and is a cowboy on Laredo Ranch.
It isn’t until Marisol’s brother starts working for some not so very nice people that Caleb has to protect them. Can he put his growing feelings aside to protect Marisol and her brother? Wait til you find out! I just loved the connection Caleb and Marisol had and loved how the ending came together.
This was such a beautiful and emotional story! I was completely drawn into the world and the characters from the very beginning. I especially loved how the Lone Star Security series connects with Broken Bend, and how Caleb is revealed as one of Mama Mae’s foster children — that added so much heart and depth to the story.
The chemistry between Caleb and Marisol was intense and heartfelt. You could truly feel their longing, their struggles, and their hope to be together despite everything standing in their way. I found myself rooting for them the entire time.
The story flows beautifully, the emotions feel real, and the happy ending was incredibly satisfying. A wonderful read for anyone who loves cowboy romance, bodyguard tropes, and interconnected series. Highly recommended!
Caleb knows better to mix business with personal feelings. From the beginning he is already losing this battle, Marisol is absolutely perfect for him and he knows it. His small acts of kindness when she has such a full and complicated life will melt your heart. Raising her teenage brother was difficult before he gets himself in danger that causes him to put everyone at risk. This book has everything you want from a romance. Ex military grump or falls instantly for the woman who brings sunshine to his life, suspense, danger and the conflict between being a professional and giving into the love that he can’t seem to walk away from. Absolutely loved this addition to this outstanding series.

A story that rides the edge of danger, but has the undercurrent of a brewing romance. I liked when Caleb and Marisol first got together, but then really didn't care when he tried to push her back and make her only an asset that he was guarding again. Thankfully that angsty part didn't last too long. I absolutely adored that this was not only a Mama Mae's boys story, but that Mae played a very large part in the story. I didn't realize how much I'd been missing her in the stories until reading this one. I also liked seeing some of Caleb's brothers from previous books who i also hadn't seen mentioned in a very long time. It was like coming home.

This story gives you a false sense of serenity at the beginning, thinking a age-gap neighbor trope. Then things really start to pick up when Lucas, the little brother, runs into trouble with his 'delivery' job. When Caleb steps in as protection the initial resistance morphs into something entirely different. This good-ol' Texas boy is trying to keep them safe while maintaining his professionalism, all the while his protected is the very woman who makes his heart race! Marisol doesn't go unaffected by his presence either. The chemistry and banter between them, and Lucas when he's involved, is fabulous. I really appreciated the details given regarding setting as well.
I was gifted a copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
After leaving the military not only does Caleb work on the ranch but he works for Lone Star Security as well. He sees the responsibilities that Marisol has and just wants to help however he can but when he realizes the dangerous situation that she and her brother are in he will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe.
After the death of her parents Marisol is trying to juggle working, finishing her degree and looking after her brother. She is independent and determined to do things on her own however when she and her brother are in danger Caleb becomes not only her protector but the man who owns her heart.
As the danger escalates around them so do the feelings between them and the professional relationship between them begins to feel very personal.
I absolutely LOVED it!!!! I felt ALL the feels while reading this one!! Caleb and Marisol were just truly meant to be!!! The chemistry between them was amazing and instant! The spice was off the charts🔥🔥🔥 Caleb is a protector and Marisol is a strong independent woman who’s surviving the best she can for her & her brother! The intense situation had me on the edge of my seat!!! I love how Caleb knew th perfect place to protect them was home at Mama Mae’s 🩷 I love how they all rally together to help and protect each other and their families!!! I didn’t want this beautiful story to end!!! I hope to get more of Broken Bend! Highly highly recommend!!.

Bodyguard romance. Marisol is a young woman who had to put her studies on hold to take care of her teenage brother. This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a sweet and steamy, found family, contemporary romance between Marisol, the female nursing student lead, and Caleb, her male next door neighbour and now the assigned bodyguard lead. I empathised with Marisol’s need for independence, and appreciated how she insisted on input where possible. I enjoyed Caleb’s protectiveness, and his grudging willingness to hear Marisol’s demands. I enjoyed the steamy moments. I enjoyed the happy ending for all, including Marisol’s brother.

I enjoyed this addition to the Lone Star Security series. I liked Caleb from the get go. He was a solid, loyal guy even before he was tasked with protecting his neighbors, Marisol and her younger brother, Lucas. I don’t know what it was about Marisol, but I didn’t warm up to her as much. She was dealt a rough hand and I appreciated her drive and tenacity, but she seemed kinda of cold to me. I thought her chemistry with Caleb was okay. As usual, loved Mama Mae and all the foster brothers. Good found family. Glad for Lucas.

Caleb is Marisol’s neighbor. He’s been watching over her and her younger brother since they moved in. Just a helpful neighbor is all until Lucas gets in trouble with some bad men who start threatening Marisol too. Caleb has been tasked to be Marisol’s bodyguard. They have been fighting their attraction for awhile but can Caleb do his job with his true feelings for Marisol. This is a quick read, has some action and steam but it’s the feelings growing between Caleb and Marisol that kept me reading. As they truly get to know each other it becomes a beautiful love story. Great story.
