Monkeypig

Rate this book
A hilarious tale of identity and belonging that will have fans of Adam Rubin and Aaron Reynolds swinging from the trees with delight!

She's a monkey! No, she's a pig! She's . . . Monkeypig?

Molly happily resides in the jungle alongside all the other monkeys, living her best monkey life among the treetops. There's just one problem.

She's actually a pig.

And head monkey Norman knows it. To prove his instincts right, he puts Molly and the rest of her forest family through a series of tests designed to weed out any non-monkey monkeys. Molly gamely jumps . . . er, flops . . . through all of Norman's hoops, doing her piggy best to be the ultimate primate. At the end of this ropes course, they discover a surprise reveal about who the real monkey is after all.

Molly may be a pig, but she lives in the trees in the jungle doing all of the monkey things in all of the money ways. Then Norman the head monkey calls an important monkey gathering. Will Pig be exposed as a monkey imposter?
Aaron’s pig and monkeys are a fun nonsense book. While there might be a “lesson” within, I only wanted to enjoy the silly pig and the monkeys that welcomed it in.

ST Pigs or Monkeys. Loved the humor. A pig, who doesn't know it's not a monkey lives in the trees. When the monkeys smell a non monkey smell they do a series of tasks to see who the imposter is. The pig does all the tasks very poorly, or very silly depending on how you look at it. Super funny read for ST for older kids.

I think this is the first review of a kids book I have written, however, we bought this at 4pm today and our toddler has already requested we read it three times. We were already big fans of 'Sleep tight, disgusting blob' and this was just as good in my opinion.

Not quite as wonderful as Sleep Tight Disgusting Blob, but it clearly proves Aaron as a talent whose great love is to subvert and every genre he plays with. Best moment, apart from the denouement, is the bit with the gnus which as a child I’d have absolutely adored

Fantastic for storytime group. The kids enjoyed the large illustrations and laughed at the pig pretending to be a monkey- especially if you do the voices. Easy to read, easy to understand.
Highly recommend for story groups

Hilarious story, fantastic illustrations, and high engagement for children as they sit on the edge of their seats wondering if the pig posing as a monkey will get caught! I literally laughed out loud.

My favorite part was when even the lead monkey found the right place for himself!

Enjoyed the twist ending, well done. Now, let's have some banana pudding! These monkeys would get along well with the Illumination minions.
