The Three Dockland Girls

Rate this book
Southampton, 1943. As bombs rain down on the busy port, three women’s lives are about to change forever.

Jenny Procter appears to have it a beautiful house, a successful husband and a place in society. But behind closed doors, her marriage is loveless and cruel. As the war rages on, Jenny finally glimpses the chance of a new life . . .

Fierce and independent, life on the streets has made Rusty Dobbs tough. Until one night American soldiers flood the city, and she meets a man who gives her the chance to leave the streets behind. But can she ever really escape her past?

Sarah Biggs discovers love in the most dangerous of places — with a German prisoner of war. Their romance is as fragile as it is forbidden . . . And it could destroy both of them.

As Southampton’s women rally to keep the docks alive and the home fires burning, Jenny, Rusty and Sarah come together against the backdrop of a city under siege. In a world torn apart by war, can friendship and courage see them through their darkest of days?

This heart-wrenching and uplifting wartime saga about courage, friendship and the power of love in the darkest of times is perfect for fans of Rosie Clarke, Lizzie Lane, Sheila Riley, Chrissie Walsh, Susanna Bavin or May Ellis.

Decent story though less impressive delivery

Decent story however some facts incorrect and either poor editing or transcription to Kindle.! A few scenarios were difficult I to believe due to the simplicity at solving complicated issues. Story still enjoyable though would be a better read if these areas were improved. I have read many of June Tate’s novels and feel this one to be less polished and rushed
