A chance encounter. A mistaken identity. A fierce love worth fighting for.
I didn’t mean to get involved in the argument I heard in an alleyway on my way home, but when I heard her scream… I had no choice.
Now, Sage thinks I’m her bodyguard. I’ll be whoever the hell she wants me to be as long as I get to see her every day. My obsession is borderline insane, but ask me if I care. No one will ever lay a finger on her in anger again. And if they do? I’ll break every bone in their body.
My woman is far too sweet and stunning for a broken soldier like me, but I can’t let her go. I won’t.
I’ll guard her body, but more than that, I’ll protect her fragile heart. I just need her to trust me when she finds out my secret

I always adore Cameron Hart's books. This one was no different! Sage has a bit of a hard life. Her father isn't exactly dependable, and when he gets into trouble, he tells her he will get her a bodyguard and skips town. Cue Jackson... who definitely isn't her bodyguard haha. He stumbles upon her in an alley when she's being attacked, and he goes into protective mode. Sage assumes he's her bodyguard, and he agrees.
This is a quick, spicy novella with an obsessed hero! Super cute as well.

Sign me up for a bodyguard if he is like Jackson! Talk about perfection!!! OTT, protective, doting, loving, dirty talker and the moves to back it up. Jackpot! I liked Sage's character as well. When she started being super bold with her "bedroom talk", I felt it didn't really match her character. Other than that, I enjoyed the little bit of drama of who was after Sage. A little more of that plot line would have been nice. I am also wondering what ever happened to her dad!.

4.5⭐️ I love a good obsessed alpha MMC, add in the bodyguard/military aspect and I’m here for it! Sage has found herself in trouble thanks to her dads lifestyle, but she’s a fighter. Jackson is a local military man who just happens to save her and pretend to be her bodyguard. It may have started on a lie, but their relationship was real and steamy from the start. He was gentle and tender with her, but they had some filthy times and it was a great dynamic between the two. I do wish there was a bit more written about her dads outcome. I know it was briefly mentioned what he wanted to do, but not what was done so would have been great to tie that all up. I wasn’t too sure how the whole leave her at his house while he worked thing played out either. Having a security system is one thing, but I figured he would have had someone watch her too. And I’m not really sure how he explained how he’s her bodyguard but not during work hours? That didn’t really make sense to me. Overall though it was steamy, great relationship story line and a touch of danger which was a great mix! No cheating or OM/OW drama, virgin FMC, no condoms, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue in the future. Loved being introduced to the Wicked Riders and can’t wait for Reaper’s story!
Some love stories start with flirty banter. Some start with fate. And then there are the ones that start with a scream in an alleyway and a man who runs toward danger instead of away from it. That’s Jackson and Sage.
When Jackson hears a woman in trouble, he doesn’t hesitate—not even for a second. Warrior instincts, broken soldier heart, and a soul that still believes in doing the right thing even when the world hasn’t been kind to him. One rescue spirals into something neither of them expected:
She believes he’s her bodyguard. He knows he’s become something much more.
What starts as mistaken identity quickly turns into obsession—the tender, protective kind that makes you melt instead of run. Jackson isn’t just willing to keep Sage safe—he’s determined to. Fierce. Loyal. A little unhinged in the best romance-hero way. The type of man who would burn the world down before letting anyone hurt the woman he’s claimed as his.
Sage? She’s sweet, soft-hearted, and healing. Life hasn’t always made her feel safe, but Jackson does—with every glance, every promise, every line he refuses to let anyone cross. She gives him something he didn’t think he deserved anymore: purpose. A reason to stay. Someone worth fighting for.
But Jackson is keeping a secret. A truth that could break what they’re building… or prove just how far he’ll go to be the man she trusts.
This book is for readers who crave: 🖤 Possessive, protective heroes with soft spots only for their girl 🔥 Obsession laced with devotion—not toxic, but intense 💪 Military/Bodyguard vibes with high stakes and heart 💗 A heroine who learns she deserves to be safe, adored, chosen ⚔️ Suspense, tension, and the promise of vengeance if anyone touches her 💞 A romance that feels like being shielded rather than caged
Bodyguard on Base isn’t just about protection—it’s about being seen. About a woman who’s never been fought for finally getting a man who’d fight the whole world. About a soldier who thinks he’s too broken for love discovering that sometimes love is the thing that saves you right back.
It’s raw. It’s addictive. It’s the kind of story that makes you clutch your chest and whisper, “Get her, Jackson.”
If you love possessive heroes who vow forever with their actions more than their words, and heroines who blossom under safety and devotion—this book will hit every pleasure point.
Because sometimes the best kind of love is the kind that stands guard, holds tight, and refuses to let go.

This novella leans hard into obsessed-alpha energy and doesn’t apologize for it—and that’s exactly why it works.
Jackson is pure Cameron Hart alpha: damaged soldier, instant fixation, and a protectiveness that borders on feral. His internal monologue makes it clear from page one that he’s gone for Sage, and the story never tries to soften or rationalize that obsession. He knows it’s intense. He embraces it. Readers who love unapologetic “she’s mine” heroes will be completely satisfied.
Sage balances him well. She’s sweet without being weak, curvy without insecurity being her entire personality, and emotionally open in a way that contrasts Jackson’s tightly wound control. Their connection is immediate, but the mistaken-identity setup gives the instalove a fun twist and just enough tension to keep the pages turning—especially as Jackson’s secret looms over the relationship.
The military-base setting adds atmosphere without overwhelming the romance, and the danger element reinforces Jackson’s protective instincts rather than distracting from the love story. For a short read, the emotional payoff is surprisingly strong, and the HEA feels earned within the genre’s expectations.
This is fast, possessive, steamy romance comfort food: obsessed bodyguard vibes, curvy heroine worship, and a hero who would absolutely ruin lives for the woman he loves. If that’s your catnip, Bodyguard on Base delivers exactly what it promises—no hesitation, no restraint, and no backing down. 💣🔥.

Lila is the bride's older sister and wedding coordinator, and grumpy Beckett is the best man. They are curiously attracted to each other, but Type A Lila is trying to make sure her sister has the perfect wedding, and Beckett is allergic to weddings after being left at the altar, and slowly, in-between the busyness of trying to put together a wedding, which includes making a whole wedding venue in the parents' backyard within a week, they slowly fall in sync and in love.
The author is new to me and I'm not sure how I came across this book, but I enjoyed reading this not so short-ish book. It's written in dual POV but also sometimes with short interjections of "reflections" with the other party's POV, which I have not seen before but works perfectly for this story. I also felt that the anxiety that the characters went through was insightful, and quite normal.
There is no explicit steaminess in this story but sooo much chemistry. Like in a rom com, there were so many times they were close to sharing a first kiss and taking the relationship to the next level, but somehow things always got in the way. Like trying to make sure 100 wedding guests are accommodated for.
I enjoyed this book very much and am looking forward to more from the author!.

A complex read that held my attention from beginning to end, I look forward to future reads Married to the life of a soldier Jackson is drawn into a situation when he comes to a woman’s assistance that is being set upon and this inadvertently changes his life. Sage is a quiet woman that enjoys her own company, she is solitary and is surprised at the way their relationship had taken off even after their initial misunderstanding with her believing him to be a bodyguard. I enjoyed the interaction between Sage and Jackson is a wonderful read, the developing romance has to overcome secrets, lies and the chemistry between them is imply wonderful. Together they will have to face danger and fight and need to be honest with each other allowing the trust to strengthen their relationship. I guarantee that readers will be captivated by this book it was a simply wonderful read. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
Super-Hiper-Ultra-Mega-Power recomendado!
Bodyguard on Base by Cameron Hart, is first in the Hearts on Base Series and a new addition to the Military World at Ridgeway Base. It's insta-lust-to-love on Jackson's part when he rescues Sage from 2 bad guys. However, it is not until 38% into the book - the first kiss happens (and Sage's actual first kiss ever). After that, the ṣïzzlïng ṣmüṭṭƴ ṣëxƴ tïmës happens pretty fast! 🥵🔥💋 It is an ägë-gäp...Jackson is 39, Sage in her early 20s?... There are some brief military supporting characters of Jackson that pop in with some humor, (and I am sure will have their own books), there is some danger, Jackson does a bit of bodyguard'ing, it's mentioned briefly that Sage is curvy -all wrapped up in a quick read romance. We do have an HEA and an Epilogue- 9 years into the future.
Jackson is a 39 year old intelligence specialist in the military. He is one year short of retirement and wonders what to do with his life. One night on his way home from base he hears a scream coming from the alley and all his protective instincts kick in. Sage is young, sweet, and innocent. she has had a rough life being thrown in many homes over the years because of her scheming father. When his last scheme puts a target on her back, she knows she is in trouble. He tells her he will get her a bodyguard and skips town. Sage mistakes Jackson as her bodyguard, he plays along because he finally knows what the rest of his life looks like…..with her. What happens when she finds out he is just a stranger protecting her? Can she trust him. Whew…I need a bodyguard like Jackson protecting me. Expect age gap romance, possessive protective hero, dirty talker and sweet innocent heroine.
Is mistaken identity the same as lying? Or is it a bad thing if it leads to forever? Sage is in danger, although she has no idea why, and she is told that she is going to have a bodyguard. Jackson, he is just the man for the job, even though he is not really the man with the job. But one look at Sage, and Jackson will do everything in his power to protect his woman. Cameron Hart is so good at seamlessly bringing the characters to life and having a great story at the same time. The spice level in Bodyguards on Base is true Cameron Hart, sweet, spicy and wonderful!!! I loved this book from start to finish. In addition to the story, characters from other series make wonderful appearances.

Short and spicy… just what I needed. This novella had drama, secrets, a bodyguard and a FMC who started out scared and alone but ended up being the strongest one in the end. She grew so much and learned what love really looks like. All Sage has is her dad and he’s not a great or even good person. She moved out and has been learning to live on her own. She thought when she moved out, her father and his problems would stay at her old house but she was wrong. That’s where Jackson comes in, he hears her scream and runs to help and knew as soon as he saw her that she was meant to be his. But when Sage gets scared and runs, will Jackson be able to save her? Will she forgive him when she finds out the truth? 5 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶️
Sage and Jackson, I LOVED them both. Dual POV story that has Jackson saving her from a possible abduction by bad guys associated with her father. She is under the impression her father has engaged him as her bodyguard!! No, but he goes along with her thinking because he has been hit by the insta bug. These two certainly steam up the pages while the reader also gets to learn more about them. High level of spice, a moment of angst and a wonderful HEA epilogue. I also loved his relationship with his mum and aunt.

This story moves along well, showing their developing romance with secrets, lies, truths needing to be told and danger mixed in. The circumstances that brought them together and certain decisions that were made could have ended what had just begun, but the connection and chemistry that was between them from the start wouldn't go away and made them face danger head on, fight, and be open and honest with each other. I liked seeing them find their way and the glimpse into their future that was given.

This book is a part of the Hearts on Base series and focuses on Jackson and Sage. Sage hadn't had the best upbringing thanks to her dad and his shady dealings. Her dad had gotten himself into quite the situation that resulted in Sage being threatened. When Jackson hears Sage's cry for help when she was being attacked, he is immediately in protector mode. He knows that Sage is his and he is determined to keep her safe while making sure she falls in love with him during that time. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Sage didn't have a great childhood, and her dad's trouble finds her, causing all kinds of chaos. He promises to send a bodyguard, then disappears. When she gets attacked, Jackson comes to the rescue, and she thinks he's the bodyguard, and well, Jackson goes along with it. I love that Jackson fell for Sage instantly and went into protector mode right away. The writing is well done, the story has danger, suspense, steam, and a great ending. Bodyguard on Base is book one and a wonderful start to the multi-author Hearts on Base series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Jackson and Sage deliver a sweet, steamy romance that hits hard and fast. Watching love knock Jackson to his knees is a joy—his alpha-protector instincts know no limits, and it’s incredibly satisfying. Sage breaks your heart in the best way, making her impossible not to adore. The heat ramps up quickly as they explore their attraction, and when bad decisions invite real danger, the swift rescue brings an extra dose of irresistible alpha energy. Sexy, heartfelt, and edged with just enough danger, this story is pure entertainment.
Sage and Jackson. I have to say up front I have a huge soft spot for the military. Jackson is military through and through. He is filled with honor and loyalty. He is also filled with loneliness. Sage has never really had anyone except her father and he is worse than having no one. Jackson steps in when Sage is threatened. What a wonderful story of 2 lonely hearts finding their way home. It has a bit of action and tension. It has a lot of smexy times. Good characters to keep you reading. What it has is a lot of love. Truly loved it!
A little white lie, a whole lot of loving protection and a desire for one another, bring together this couple. Thankfully the lie isn't one to break this couple up for long, but it does give a bit of the catalyst for the danger in the book. It's full of lots of steamy scenes, sort of light on plot, but it also introduces us to a new MC that is set up for the next series from this author. Can't wait to read that as it seems like they will be rough and tough with hearts of gold.

Sage is running from men her father caused some trouble for and in retaliation. They are now looking for her. Jackson is walking home from work when he hears her screaming. He lies and tells her he’s her bodyguard. Their relationship quickly changes to one of trust. But when Sage finds out Jackson lied, she takes off. She puts herself in danger and now Jackson doesn’t know she is gone. This was an incredible read. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Loads of spicy goodness with expertly done dirty talk (imo😉🤷♀️👏😍😍😍) alongside a cute story with a bit of intrigue/mystery/danger and a beautiful love story with a HEA🤗🤗🤗
I loved how Sage had overcome her crappy upbringing right off the bat and was doing her own thing, carving out a life for herself. I loved Jackson and his mom and aunts relationship….and how he falls first and completely for Sage🥰🥰🥰 His devotion to her wellbeing, safety…and pleasure was perfect!!!.

Sage gets a threatening text, that seems to lead back to her father. When she calls him, he tells her he will send a bodyguard, he needs to get out of town. A couples accost her, enter Jackson Bennett. She asks if he is her bodyguard, since he is smitten from the get go, he says yes.
The pair are great together but the threat is still out there and when she talks to her father she finds out he sent no one. This a short and steamy read, Jackson is just what she needs.

Sage’s father is in deep with done bad people and they threaten her. Her dad goes into “hiding” to protect her, but they still come for her. Jackson is leaving the base when he hears a woman scream for help. What he sees makes his blood boil. When Sage mistakes him for the bodyguard her father mentioned, Jackson doesn’t correct her. He doesn’t correct her because he’s speechless and lovestruck. He goes from bodyguard to lover, there a few bumps in their road to happily ever after, but lots of steam along the way.
A short, spicy military romance that jumps straight into action with mistaken identity and forced proximity.
Jackson is all protective, no-questions-asked energy... running toward danger and claiming his role as Sage’s bodyguard a little too naturally. What starts as a simple mix-up quickly turns into intense chemistry, devotion, and that delicious “touch her and die” vibe.
Fast-paced, steamy, and satisfying, this one is perfect when you’re craving a quick hit of protective hero goodness.
Sage is a web designer that had a rough life ,while living with her father and others while growing up. Now her father brought a threat to her front door and Sage needs saving. Jackson is walking home from the military base when he hears her distressed cries. Jackson sees Sage and instantly knows she will be his and that he will keep her safe and eliminate the threat against her, no matter what. So he tells her he is her new bodyguard, well he kind of is no matter what. Instalove, age gap, sweet, steamy, romantic, with a bit of action and safe with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍😍
Jackson finds his forever in a young woman he rescues from a dark alley. One small deception and he becomes her protector. What will Sage do when she finds out the truth? Loved their story and the protective alpha Jackson was. A bit of danger, possessiveness, THYD vibes, sweet moments, spicy hot passion, found family and a forever. Loved meeting the Wicked Riders. looking forward to more!

He might not tell the truth but his intentions are good and she forgives him in the end. I liked how he taught her self defense and how she used it. They fell in love and are very happy together.
