My job is make Maverick Jennings, the world’s grumpiest quarterback, look like a decent human being. If I can’t fix his reputation, I can kiss my dream of launching my own brand consulting business goodbye.
His job? Making my life a living nightmare.
He’s arrogant, impossible, and entirely too handsome for someone so determined to self-destruct. He rejects every idea, challenges every strategy, and looks at me like he can’t decide whether to strangle me or kiss me. Honestly, same.
But the closer I get to the man behind the headlines, the more I realize his scowl is hiding a world of pain.
He’s my most difficult client. I’m his last chance.
It only takes one reckless night to change everything.
Somewhere between tension and temptation, protecting his image became more than just a job. Now my career is in the red zone, and the wrong choice between loyalty and love could cost me everything.

This was an easy, fun, quick read! I hated Maverick in the beginning but as the book went on, you really feel for him. When he ends up at the animal shelter with Everleigh, my little heart was so happy. This would have been 5 stars but the ending wasn’t for me. Maverick needed to also apologize. After he talked with Dex, I thought he was going to but in the end just Ev apologizes 🫣

Red Zone steps onto the field with confidence and never fumbles the landing. Even as part of the Bradley Legacy world, this book stands tall on its own, delivering sharp banter, emotional depth, and a romance that simmers before it strikes. This is Everleigh Bradley’s story boss babe, marketing genius, and the woman brave enough to take on the world’s grumpiest quarterback and survive.
From the first chapter, the tension crackles. Everleigh is tasked with saving Maverick Jennings’ reputation, while Maverick seems personally dedicated to ruining both his career and her sanity. What begins as professional warfare quickly morphs into something far more dangerous, emotional, and magnetic.
The Story
Maverick is abrasive, closed off, and emotionally guarded in all the ways a tortured sports hero should be. His reputation is in shambles, his future uncertain, and Everleigh is his last shot at redemption. She is sharp, driven, and fiercely independent, unwilling to let his self-destruction derail her ambitions.
As forced proximity and next-door neighbor chaos blur the line between client and temptation, their enemies-to-lovers dynamic explodes into something deeply emotional. Beneath Maverick’s scowl lives a man aching with unresolved pain, and Everleigh refuses to let him hide from it. Their relationship builds on tension, trust, vulnerability, and a slow-burning chemistry that feels natural, earned, and deeply satisfying.
The pacing is spot-on, balancing romantic tension, career pressure, and personal stakes without dragging or rushing the emotional payoff.
🎧 Narration
Performed in duet by Liam DiCosimo and Stefanie Kay, whose voices fit these characters perfectly. Both narrators bring warmth, grit, and personality to Everleigh and Maverick, elevating the emotional beats and making their chemistry feel authentic and immersive.

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Red Zone by Lisa Suzanne is a gripping and emotionally charged sports romance that digs far deeper than the headlines surrounding its grumpy quarterback hero. As the third book in The Bradley Legacy series, it stands confidently on its own while still offering the rich atmosphere of a connected world. From the very first pages, the story pulls you in with sharp banter, high stakes, and Everleigh whose ambition and determination make it impossible not to root for. Her job is to fix Maverick Jennings’ image, but what she quickly discovers is that repairing a reputation is far easier than navigating the man behind it.
Maverick is abrasive, closed off, and frustrating in all the ways a powerful, self-destructive sports hero should be. His resistance to help feel authentic, driven by pain and pressure rather than arrogance alone. The push and pull between him and Everleigh is intense, layered with sarcasm, frustration, and a spark that refuses to be ignored. Their enemies to lovers' journey unfold naturally, with tension that simmers before boiling over, making every interaction feel charged and meaningful.
What truly elevates Red Zone is its emotional depth. As walls come down, the story reveals vulnerability, past hurt, and the weight of expectations that Maverick carries both on and off the field. The romance is spicy and passionate, but it is also grounded in emotional growth and trust. The heroine is not simply there to save him. She challenges him, stands her ground, and risks her own career as her feelings deepen, which adds real weight to every choice she makes.
The pacing is strong, balancing professional conflict, romantic tension, and personal stakes without ever feeling rushed or drawn out. One reckless night acts as a turning point that reshapes their relationship and raises the emotional and professional risks, pushing both characters to confront what they truly want and what they are willing to lose. The football setting enhances the story rather than overpowering it, adding authenticity and pressure to Maverick’s world while keeping the focus firmly on the romance.
Red Zone is a swoony, spicy, and heartfelt read that delivers every promise of the grumpy sunshine trope. Lisa Suzanne crafts a story that is equal parts heat and healing, making it perfect for readers who love emotionally rich sports romances with sharp dialogue, strong character development, and a satisfying happily ever after.
“I will be here by your side fighting for you while you fight against me.”
I think this series just keeps getting better and better. Red Zone is the third book in the Bradley Legacy series and Maverick and Everleigh might be my favorite. Once I started their story, I was absolutely addicted to their push and pull dynamic and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
This enemies to lovers arc is everything I crave: sharp, simmering, and layered with so much emotional tension you could cut it with a knife. Everleigh is drowning under the weight of family expectations while trying to chase her own desires, and Maverick… oh, Maverick. He’s carrying trauma and heartbreak so heavy it’s a miracle he’s still standing. He’s the kind of broken that makes you want to wrap him in a blanket and also shake him until he lets someone in.
“I’ve been standing on the sidelines of my own goddamn life for too long. It’s time to take it back, and she’s the one who’s making me see that.”
Watching them work together is delicious chaos. Everleigh pushes him out of every self imposed boundary, forces him to feel again, and dismantles his defenses one stubborn layer at a time. They clash constantly—verbally, emotionally, spectacularly—but when that chemistry finally combusts? It’s explosive. And just when they start to realize there’s something real beneath all the tension, their fragile connection is put to the test.
The banter? Flirty, sharp, and addictive. Maverick is the perfect grumpy, misunderstood hero with a pain he thinks he has to hide, and Everleigh is the fierce, independent woman who refuses to let him stay broken. Their dynamic is electric, messy, and absolutely irresistible.
“Through the negative energy, through the hatred, through the feelings of wanting to be anywhere else, we’ve transitioned into this place where we only want to be with each other.”
Red Zone is angsty, emotional, and full of heart—exactly the kind of story that gives me every single feel I’m looking for. Maverick and Everleigh challenge each other in all the best ways, and I adored every second of their firestorm of a romance. Now I’m counting down the days until the next book in this fantastic series.
The Bradley series continues with Everleigh Bradley, a successful brand strategist living in Chicago. Her goal is to one day have her own business. Her boss offers a job in Vegas for a high profile client that is paying a lot of money. But he doesn't know who the client is. She is hesitant because she does not want to work with an athlete. She has grown up around athletes her whole life. She has 4 brothers in the NFL and one that plays professional baseball. She feels athletes are arrogant and not for her. Her boss tells her if she takes on this client after the year commitment he will remove the non-compete from her contract and she is free to start her own firm.
Everleigh decides to take the job with the hopes of having her own firm after the year is up. Plus she has family in Vegas as well. When she gets to Vegas to see who this high profile client is she is not happy to find out it is the grumpy quarterback for the Vegas Aces, the team her brother plays for. And the player her brother recently hurt in practice.
Enter Maverick Jennings, grumpy QB of the Aces. He needs his image repaired but he doesn't care what people think of him. He is angry at the world and just wants to play football and be left alone. He is not happy when Jack Dalton, the owner, tells him Everleigh will be assigned to him for the year.
Let the battle begin between these two. Besides neither one of them wanting to work with the other the chemistry between them is undeniable. As they work together over time they begin to really see each other. Maverick has kept his past and trauma to himself the last 10 years. He is so misunderstood. Everleigh has her own family issues to deal with. But together they just click.
This is such a beautiful, emotional, steamy filled story. I fell in love with these characters. Their journey is so heartwarming.
I swear Lisa Suzanne doubles down on her books every single time. Just when I don't think I could love her anymore, she says "hold my beer". I absolutely adored Maverick and Everleigh's story. Everleigh is the older sister of the bunch. She is struggling to make her mark in the family just like the rest of the Bradley siblings. Everleigh is a brand strategist that is hired to help fix Mavericks image problems and help him build his legacy. Maverick is an angry and bitter football player. He has been dealt a crap hand in life. He has many personal issue that he has ignored during his career. He thought that he would be with one team his whole career only to be traded to another. He is bitter about it and cannot and wont relate to his fellow teammates. During practice, Dex, Everleigh's brother hurts Maverick and he is sidelined for many games. He is holding a grudge against him and his family. Maverick uses unhealthy coping mechanisms and it gets him into a lot of trouble. It is Everleigh's job to help him redeem himself. He doesn't make her job easy at all. Not to mention her family has a lot of secrets that she has to contend with as well. I loved not only that they author has continued in the same world as her pervious series but she has also found a way to blend them the new. I love seeing some of our old friends in this series. The character and story development is always top notch. She keeps you engaged from start to finish. The only question left is can they both find a way to not only forgive the past but to move forward and find the love and companionship they both are missing? Will the secrets and lies tear them apart or bring them back together stronger than ever. You will have to read to find out.
A touchdown romance packed with heart, heat, and emotional depth.
Lisa Suzanne, you’ve done it again. The Red Zone is another flawless addition to The Bradley Legacy series—aside from that emotional hiccup near the end that had me on the edge of my seat, heart pounding and completely invested. And honestly? That just proves how deeply this story gets under your skin.
The title couldn’t be more perfect. Ms Suzanne hits the red zone and scores a touchdown with every single chapter.
This time, the spotlight shines on Everleigh Bradley, a branding strategist being pushed to move to LA for a career-defining opportunity. Surrounded by sportsmen thanks to her brothers, the one thing she’s hoping for is not having to work with another athlete. Spoiler: the universe has other plans.
Enter Maverick Jennings, the Aces’ new quarterback—and a man who gives the word grumpy an entirely new meaning. When Everleigh discovers she’s been tasked with rebranding Maverick, sparks fly instantly. Their chemistry is undeniable, sharp, and sizzling, but what truly sets this story apart is the emotional depth woven into every interaction.
Lisa Suzanne excels at peeling back the layers of her characters, and Maverick is no exception. The more we uncover about him, the harder it is not to fall head over heels. Everleigh, meanwhile, shines on every page—strong, compassionate, and real. Her own family struggles add another powerful layer, once again showcasing Suzanne’s mastery of heartfelt, emotionally rich romance.
And the Bradley family? They continue to test every romance reader’s feelings in the very best way.
The Red Zone is sizzingly romantic, deeply emotional, and utterly unforgettable—another must-read that proves Lisa Suzanne is at the top of her game. 🏈💖
Everleigh Bradley is a brand strategist who is giving a mysterious opportunity to assist one client VIP client in Vegas and she see this as her a stepping stone in the right direction to get started on her own company. Her boss does not give her any details other than that it will last for a year and he will take out her no compete clause allowing her to start her own company when the year is up.
Maverick Jennings is the bad boy of football who does not care about his reputation or anything outside of football. Within his first couple of weeks he has already gotten himself into hot water with his team owner due to calling out a teammate in public and the owner wants real change.
Everleigh’s knows all about high demand sports due to her 5 brothers all being professional athletes and she wants nothing to do with athletes since she knows the are difficult. Imagine Everly surprised when she finds out that her client is the one and only Maverick Jennings, who is in the middle of a battle with her brother Dex, who also happens to be the one who injured him.
Everleigh and Mav managed to start to work together well until Mav gets caught up in a scandal that can get him suspended from his team. Mav ask Everleigh to make an impossible choice and then is disappointed when she does not choose him. Everleigh and loses her job in Vegas and heads back to Chicago with a broken heart.
Make sure you read to find out what happens to one of the best couples of the NFL.
Red Zone the Third book in the Bradley Family series was my favorite so far. Everleigh Bradley is offered an assignment in Vegas to re-brand a client, but to take the job she must give up her 32 correct clients and not know who the client she will be representing is. The bonus: her boss will let her open her own company and their will not be noncompete clause. Maverick Jennings is the surly new quarterback for the Vegas Aces. He was traded from Dallas, where he thought he would spend his whole career. He has no interest in making friends on the team or anywhere else, he just wants to play football. During practice Dex Bradley (Everleigh's brother) a defensive lineman for the Aces rams into Maverick breaking his ribs, so he is out for the first several games of the season. He is angry one night and complains about Dex which is caught on video. He then meets his brand strategist, the sister of the man who took him out of the game.
Everleigh works with Maverick to understand him, which is not an easy task considering the walls he has erected to protect himself. As they work together an attraction grows which they can't fight. Maverick lets Everligh in and tells her all his secrets, which seems to change him. Until Eveerligh is faced with choosing Maverick or her family.
4.25⭐️ A note from Mavericks mom: You come first. Always. Never allow my illness to take away from your own life. 🥹
What to expect: 🏈 Football Sports Romance ❤️ Enemies to Lovers 🏈 Bad Boy Player x Brand Strategist ❤️ He Hates Everyone (but her) 🏈 Next Door Neighbors ❤️ Forced Proximity 🏈 Hero with a Tortured Past ❤️ Grumpy/Sunshine
Maverick Jennings- Quarterback for the Las Vegas Aces. Only wants to be alone and will no let anyone in. Has a past that he does not share with anyone.
Everleigh Bradley- Brand strategist from Chicago. Wants to open up her own company but never wants to work with athletes. Comes from a big dysfunctional family. There are so many kids.
When you have been through everything Maverick has you understand it is safer to stay to yourself and push everyone away. That is until Everleigh walked into his life wearing a red dress, black shoes w/ red bottoms, and that sexy red lipstick. You could feel their chemistry from the first meeting.
This is one of the parts that got me 💔 "Because it's not in my nature to give up. I'm a problem solver, Maverick. I'm a fixer." "You think you can fix me?" "I don't think you're broken." "You're dead wrong about that."
Check trigger warnings. Thank you Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR. Above are my honest thoughts.
This is the third book in the series and features Everleigh Bradley, brand strategist and sister to five professional athletes. Her dream is to open her own firm one day so when her boss offers her a project that will get her closer to that goal, Everleigh feels compelled to take it. After moving across the country to Vegas, Everleigh threatens to back out after she realizes she'll have to work with the Maverick Jennings, the new quarterback for the Vegas Aces, and her brother, Dex's teammate. Maverick just joined the team after being suddenly traded by his former team so he's carrying a bitter monkey on his back, and his attitude only gets worse after being told Everleigh will be with him 24/7 to try and clean up his public persona. The constant push and pull of their oil and water relationship seems to ignite their electric attraction for one another even though it will put her reputation and job on the line. When Maverick finds himself in a wrong place wrong time predicament, Everleigh must make a life altering decision on who holds her loyalty, her client or her family. I loved the sizzle between Maverick and Everleigh, though Maverick's temper at times, presented opportunities to show why she was so good at her job. I liked the voicing of the main characters by Liam Dicosimo and Stefanie Kay, but didn't care for the way they voiced the side characters in a particular scene. It detracted a bit from my overall enjoyment of the audio book.
The Red Zone is a fast-paced, addictive read that pulls you straight into the high-stakes world of pro football and image management. Maverick, a talented quarterback with a reputation for trouble, isn’t just battling critics—he’s carrying deep emotional scars from his past that shape every bad decision he makes. Enter Everleigh, a sharp and determined brand strategist who gives up her successful Chicago career to head to Vegas with one mission: clean up Maverick’s image and turn his life around. Everleigh, however, has struggles of her own. Her father’s criminal activities have put her and her siblings at risk, a storyline that weaves through previous books in the series and adds extra tension here. (I highly recommend reading the earlier books to fully appreciate this ongoing arc.) The chemistry between Maverick and Everleigh is electric. Their relationship walks a razor-thin line between love and hate, fueled by clashing personalities, sharp banter, and unexpectedly tender moments. The mix of anger, vulnerability, and emotional growth makes their connection feel intense and real—and easily my favorite couple in the series. I couldn’t put this book down. If you’re looking for a story packed with drama, heart, and irresistible tension, grab The Red Zone immediately.
Red Zone is the 3rd book to the Bradley Series. Everleigh Bradley comes from a strong line of athletes and promised to take on athletes as clients. She had her own dreams and when opportunity came along she gave up 32 clients to take on 1. Building a new brand. Her one client, Maverick Jennings was a handful but she managed to take him on… mind, body, heart. Working side by side with someone in close proximity tends to lead to other things. Feelings got involved and a relationship evolved. Both Everleigh and Maverick went through things in previous relationships and if you ask me that’s what got them together, there was a base to bond and strengthen. Need, want and hunger. Mav, was introduced to Legacy which is part of the Bradley’s. One thing led to the other and a bust was made while Mav was there. A deal was talked about with the FBI but he pondered it out of respect to Everleigh and tried talking about it with her. Next is finding out which has loyalty, her relationship with Maverick or family obligation. Blood is thicker than water but which do you choose when blood was never there, never around? Loyalty is built, it doesn’t matter that blood is thicker. Family no matter what is the one that turns itself.
Red Zone by Lisa Suzanne is an emotionally charged sports romance that goes far beyond the grumpy quarterback trope. Even as the third book in The Bradley Legacy series, it stands strong on its own, pulling you in quickly with sharp banter, high stakes, and a heroine who’s impossible not to root for. Everleigh is driven and confident, hired to clean up Maverick Jennings’ public image, only to realize that the man behind the reputation is far more complicated than she expected.
Maverick is closed off, abrasive, and clearly weighed down by pressure and past mistakes, which makes his resistance feel real rather than arrogant. The tension between him and Everleigh builds naturally, filled with frustration, chemistry, and moments that slowly crack open his walls. What makes this romance shine is its emotional depth: Everleigh doesn’t exist to save him, but to challenge him, stand her ground, and risk just as much as he does.
With solid pacing, satisfying spice, and a football setting that adds realism without overpowering the romance, Red Zone delivers a heartfelt, swoony grumpy-sunshine story perfect for fans of emotionally rich sports romances with a strong happily ever after.
Thanks to the author and valentine pr for the arc <3
*I was sent this book by Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR & Literary Management for my honest review, I have not been paid for this review. Thank you to Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR & Literary Management for selecting me to review Red Zone.**
Maverick Jennings is a bad boy football player that has recently signed for Vegas Aces after being at Dallas for the majority of his playing career. Everleigh Bradley has been hired to change his image and to put a stop to him making bad decisions.
At the beginning of the book I really didn't like the way Maverick was treating Everleigh when she was there to do her job and help him get his life back on track and to find out what was going on with him that was making him behave this way. But throughout the book I was starting to warm up to him and I was loving Everleigh's energy towards him and showed him not to mess with her. She is the definition of a Bad Bitch!
I love Lisa Suzanne's books and I'm yet to be disappointed with her writing! I cannot wait to read the next one in this series and see what Ford Bradley is up to!
Everleigh and Maverick's book did not disappoint in this series. Everleigh is the caretaker of the Bradley bunch. But who takes care of her? Maverick has been let down by life and he's taking it out on everyone. He's taken blow after blow and it's no wonder he's been such an a$$hole. But he can't be an a$$hole on Jack Dalton's watch, so queue Everleigh. Everleigh reluctantly takes this position in the hopes to start her own firm. She doesn't want to work with athletes, but is trying to move on from a breakup and move on with her career. Maverick hates everyone and doesn't want to cooperate. Everleigh and Maverick make bad dad Bradley 3 for 3 in ruining relationships. Seriously, our extraordinary author knows how to write terrible dads, she's given us plenty now. Anyway, the spice and plot is on point, and we get our cameos from other series and Bradley siblings. I'm still desperate for Archer's story, but I think Ford's will hold me over and make us feral for it. Lisa Suzanne and football romance are must reads.

Red Zone is a sports romance with depth, where ambition and determination are key elements. While Maverick is a closed-off quarterback with talent and a bad boy reputation, Everleigh is the specialist hired to repair his image and make him look good in the eyes of his fans and his new team. Beneath the surface lie so many secrets and hurt that are crushing their hearts and their future. Maverick’s hurt and past scars, Everleigh’s ambition and family legacy, the emotional growth, the spicy scenes and the most romantic moments make Red Zone an amazing book for the reader who wants it all: spice, swoon, angst, love, banter and sizzling chemistry. Lisa Suzanne doesn’t disappoint with another book of the Bradley Legacy series. Maverick and Everleigh are perfect for each other, complete each other’s personalities., bring out the best in each other and push each other to their limits. The bad boy hero with the tortured past is brought back to life by the demanding strategist with a heart of gold beneath the polished surface. Thank you for the ARC.
Tropes: 🏈 Football Sports Romance 🔥 Enemies to Lovers 😈 Bad Boy Player x Brand Strategist 🌆 Next Door Neighbors 🔒 Forced Proximity 🎲Grumpy / Sunshine 🖤 He Hates Everyone (But Her) 💔 Hero with a Tortured Past
This is the third book in the series and I really enjoyed this one. I loved getting to see one of the sisters as the main character.
Everleigh was such a boss babe, and I loved every bit of her. I’m a red lip girlie, so she is my girl. 💄❤️ Maverick was a bit of an ass in the beginning, but I liked him—he had good reasons to be to meee lmaoo.
Their dynamic and chemistry were so good. Out of the three books so far, I’d say this is my second favorite.
I also have loved the family aspect, especially the dad side plot. It adds an extra layer to the story as a whole and I’m very interested in how that storyline unfolds moving forward.
Thank you to Valentine PR and Lisa Suzanne for the ALC of this book. It was such an easy listen/read and kept me entertained from start to finish. 🎧📖✨ can’t wait for the next book in the series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Red Zone by Lisa Suzanne completely stole my heart. Maverick and Everleigh’s story grabbed me from the very first page and never let go. The enemies-to-lovers and grumpy sunshine dynamic was done so well and kept me hooked. Add in past trauma, healing, and emotional growth, and this book truly had it all. I felt everything while reading — I teared up, laughed, and had moments where my heart genuinely ached. Lisa Suzanne has an incredible way of creating characters that get under your skin and stay there. Maverick’s layers and Everleigh’s strength made their journey so powerful. I kept telling myself “just one more chapter,” only to realize hours had passed. Needless to say, I finished this book in less than 24 hours. When that happens, it’s always a five-star read for me — and Lisa Suzanne’s books always deliver. I cannot wait for Ford’s story and will happily keep reading about the Bradleys because I truly can’t get enough.
Thank you to ValentinesPR for the ARC 🩷 📚 Grumpy Footballer x reluctant PR/Brand Strategist 📚 Forced proximity 📚 Enemies to lovers 📚 Spicy This is book 3 of The Bradley Legacy series, I will admit I have not yet read the first 2 in the series but i dont feel that hindered me reading Red Zone at all as they can be read as standalones 😊 Brand Strategist Everleigh is hired for a job she knows nothing about which means moving away for a year and leaving her current clients behind. I mean of course she shouldnt go... until she learns this could open so many doors for her professionally and allow her to start her own business. Sold! Maverick, grumpy NFL star with a terrible reputation learns of his new 'babysitter' and isn't best pleased... at how much he wants her! With a difficult past he tries to keep hidden will the pair work together? Overall I did enjoy this spicy read, I believed the chemistry although it was a bit predictable at times!
Book 3 in the Bradley Legacy, a standalone following each one of the highly successful Bradley sibling. This is the story of Everleigh Bradley, boss babe and marketing guru. She works with a plethora of clients but refuses to work with athletes, given most of her brothers are pro athletes, except her boss has reassigned her to relocate to Vegas and take on one problem child client - a pro football with a stinking attitude and the epitome of grumpiness! Maverick and Everleigh have highly combustible chemistry which is channelled straight to hate, they can’t stand each other… so you know it’s going to have great banter! It’s an emotional ride as we get to know the real Maverick and despite being a player, he doesn’t play games - loved that about this book, the pure honesty between them. Thoroughly enjoyed book 3!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
This is book 3 in the Bradley Family Legacy series, but can be read as a standalone. Everleigh and Maverick clash from their first meeting where they don’t even exchange names. When they are forced to work together, it gets worse. The banter between these two was great. I loved that Everleigh is the only one really trying to get to know Mac even though he is fighting her every step of the way. His past is the reason he is the way he is and Everleigh is able to break through his walls and gets him to open up. These characters are relatable and I was able to easily connect with them and their struggles. I also loved how they helped each other through each other’s trauma. I laughed and cried and this will probably be my go to when I am in a slump. I have found my new favorite couple. I love all of them, but there is just something about Everleigh and Maverick. I can’t explain it, but it’s a feeling that is still with me even after finishing their story.
The Bradley Legacy series continues with Everleigh's story. She has plans, none of which involve her leaving Chicago. However, a career oppprtunity comes knocking, a step closer to being self employed and she finds herself moving to Vegas for a year. How bad can it be - as long as this does not come down to an athlete. Maverick Jennings is an NFL quarterback, is new to the Vegas Aces and he has just relocated from Dallas to Vegas. Maverick does his job well on the field but off, he needs some attention. Jack is determined to mould him into the Aces brand and he brings in reinforcements - Everleigh Bradley. This season is full of surprises, fun and heartache as these two characters navigate their careers, their personal life's and their evolving relationship - business or personal - both an option? I love getting a chance to catch up with characters from other books. It is always an adventure to be the fly on the wall as.the main characters fund their way to one another. Enjoy!
Everleigh and Maverick may start this book not liking each other, but it doesn't start that way! The push and pull between them was really funny at points, and when they finally stop assuming things and seeing the other as they actually are, things heat up. These two were fun to read together, and the tension between them is great. The things happening in the background will keep you entertained until the end of this one while you wonder how things will turn out.
I listened to this one on audiobook, and it was a good listen. The narrators' voices fit these characters well. There were bits from Maverick's POV that had me laughing because the female voice the narrator used, but I think that sort of thing is always going to give me a chuckle. Overall, this is a good listen that I'd recommend.
Another good book in this series that pulled me in from the first word. A true enemies to lovers romance... they truly hate each other when they first meet because Mav doesn't want a brand fixer any more than Everly wants to work with an entitled athlete. He does everything he can to make her life difficult. Of course, he has hidden depths and deep emotional scars that Ev slowly discovers. They have chemistry that helps them forge a connection that's just starting to grow when Ev makes the wrong choice. You know, she knows it, and he knows it. If the hallmark of a good book is to feel an emotional connection/reaction, then you absolutely will be frustrated by her choice, which is why this is 4 stars not 5. Getting to the HEA takes some doing but it's worth the journey.
I listened to the audiobook, and Liam DiCosimo was the perfect voice for Mav. Stefanie Kay does a great job as Everly.
Another entertaining book in this series! Maverick is a professional football player and he has been traded to a new team…he is sooo not happy about it. When he gets himself in trouble time and time again the team hires him professional help…he sees it as a babysitter. Everleigh double majored in school, worked her butt off to be where she is in the company and now she is off to “fix” a football player. She is not happy about moving and working with a professional athlete…her family is filled with professional athletes she’s had enough of that world. These two hate each other at first…but that hate eventually turns I to Sooo much more. This book was very entertaining. There was laugh out loud banter. The chemistry was sizzling hot…I mean HOT! Boy oh boy was there drama. So in all this entertaining read hit all the right spots. I’m already looking forward to seeing what happens next.
The chemistry is sizzling in the pro football romance and the line in the book where Everly says she feels like the gif from Golden Girls where Blanch sprays water on herself describes how she feels when dealing with Maverick is how the readers will feel about this book boyfriend. There is more to the grumpy pro footballer that Everly slowly drags from him and in the process the first angsty intimate encounter flourishes to more. Tragedy surrounds them both and the support they give each other leads to love until her father’s underground casino causes Maverick to beg Everly to save his career but she chooses her father which leads to their romance to be blown apart. It takes the owner of the Vegas Aces and her mother and brother, Mac’s teammate to allow Everly to see she chose the wrong man. The Bonus epilogue is rather romantic and finishes the book perfectly.

Maverick and Everleigh are complicated, and I am completely obsessed with them. Maverick has been through so much, from his relationship with his mother to his past with his ex, and it explains so much about who he is and the choices he makes.
Everleigh is brought in to help improve his image, and in the process they fall for each other. Their journey is the perfect enemies to lovers romance with a satisfying happy ending.
The audiobook deserves special praise. The narrators were fantastic and truly brought the story to life, delivering every emotion beautifully.
“I shoot her a look. “Manly Mav?” “What?” she asks. “Do you prefer Mountable Mav? Monstercock Mav?” “He did have a monster cock,” I mutter.”
“But she didn’t choose me back. So everyone leaves, and I’m back in the ashes where I was a decade ago, only under different circumstances this time.”
