The hilarious and heartwarming autobiography from social media's favourite grandma and granddaughter
Hi! I'm Jess, and if you follow us on social media, you’ll already know my Nan, Norma.
In this book, we want to open up about the personal events that have shaped our unbreakable bond – from the adventures we’ve been on to the great loves and losses we’ve experienced. We receive so many questions about Nan’s earliest memories, her childhood and her marriage to my granddad Michael, and it has been incredibly special to record these cherished stories together.
Through the highs and the lows, Nan’s candid reflections on the world have ensured we’ve shared enough laughter for a lifetime. You can expect to find plenty of them here, including her hilarious thoughts on me (‘a tiresome little monkey’ ), my partner Jake (‘Somebody must be paying him’), dating (‘Can’t we get through a blurb without you bringing the tone down?’) self-care (‘Astral cream, you can’t beat it’) and more.
We’ve written this for everyone who has found comfort in our videos. We hope it brings a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.
What a beautiful book. Showcasing a wonderful relationship between Jess and her lovely Nan Norma. Just a joy to read. The letters to each other at the end were so poignant, not knowing that Dear Norma would have passed when the book was published. Tears streaming down my face . What wonderful memories Jess now has written down forever.
Wow. This takes the crown for the most beautiful memoir ever published. I knew this book would be packed with heart and it did not disappoint in any way.
What interestingly sets this books format apart from others biographies/memoirs is that it’s written in an interview and conversational format. Each chapter focuses on different areas of their lives - upbringing, family dynamics, work, fame, technology etc - where Jess begins a question and they both have a transcribed conversation about the subject.
I loved the conversational tone throughout and often found myself nodding along in agreement with their observations on subjects like relationships, life today and society now.
My goodness, this book is packed full of wisdom from both Norma and Jess. I lost count of the sentimental quotes and beautiful thoughts Norma came out with; Real sentimental thoughts that made my eyes fill with tears and gave me such food for thought.
We really learn so much more about Norma, who took TikTok by storm and earned herself over 2.7million followers and seeing the beauty of the world through Norma’s eyes was adorable. I throughly enjoyed learning all about her life, and expanding on how her relationship with Jess became as strong as it was.
Jess is the most considerate and loving granddaughter and I have such admiration for her devotion to Norma. It’s nothing short of inspiring.
Poignantly, there is sadness in part since Norma passed away just weeks before the publication date. It felt dreadfully sad and one of life’s cruelties for her to not experience this final hurrah.
Thank you Jess for sharing Norma with the world and for beginning this important conversation for us to spend time with our elders.
1st book of 2026 finished! The most wholesome read, beautifully written. Made a nice change to not read a fiction book, i loved watching these 2 on tiktok and it was beautiful to read there stories. Made me think how lucky I am to have 4 wonderful grandparents who are still living🥹
This is amazing book so glad I had the opportunity to meet Jess and Jake! Thank you so much for the chance to understand the special relationship you both had !!

This book felt rather healing for me. Nearly 2 years ago I lost my nan. It was sudden, and rather traumatic. I watched her pass in front of me. Even now, grief can be incredibly tricky to navigate. You think you’re doing well and then BAM, it hits you.
That’s where Jess and Norma come in. I’d seen a few of their videos before, enjoying their relationship and the laughs they’d have. But when Nan passed, I found myself seeking out their videos. Seeking out comfort from watching them together. And it worked.
Somehow in watching Jess and Norma, I felt close to my nan. And I cherished every video that came out. When I saw the news of Norma’s passing, I was devastated for Jess and her family. I also felt incredibly sad because it was a little bit like losing my own nan again.
But this book, getting to see their interactions and their sheer joy and love for each other being immortalised. It’s like I’ve got a piece of Nan back - seeing me and her in their conversations. I’m incredibly grateful that they put this book together, full of laughter, cheeky conversations and the love they shared. How lucky we are to be a part of that.
This was such a beautiful book, full of heart, warmth, and laughter. Jess's relationship with Norma really mirrors my own relationship with my grandma (RIP), and now with my grandad, with Jess having the same crude but innocent banter that I share. I would have loved this even more if it had been an audiobook, as it would have felt like we really were sitting down in a Morrisons café or Costa Coffee with them - although I appreciate that might have been taxing on Norma, and after her passing, it would have been very strange to have another person read her words.
Overall, a very good book and a really insightful look into Norma and Jess’s life and relationship outside of the social media bubble.
What a lovely book and how fantastic is the relationship between Jess and Norma.
I loved watching their videos on Instagram and have really enjoyed reading just how special they are to each other. Everybody needs a Norma in their life but equally so a Jessica.
Reading this reminded me of my Nan and the shopping trips I used to take her on and the banter we had.
This book was lovely and it was so interesting to hear some older tales from war time. The only reason it’s a three star is because it’s very different, genre wise, to my normal books but I still enjoyed it and would recommend to a friend. We love you Norma ❤️🕊️
The bond between Jess and her nan ìs such a beautiful unbreakable bond the bond between them reminded me of my beautiful nan I loved reading Jess and Norma a truly well written beautiful book between a nan and her granddaughter ♥️ Rest in enternal peace Norma
Heartwarming read, and you can really feel the bond these two women share. If you've ever seen their videos on Social Media, this book is just a continuation of their banter.
A fabulous bond between Nanna and Grand daughter I can just imagine them sat at a table talking about all the subjects covered in the book. Comparing lives when they were younger. A fabulous read
I am not on social media much anymore, but one account I follow is Jess and Norma's on Instagram and Facebook. Or was, as very sadly, one month ago, Norma passed away. What struck me about their short videos were not only the elements in their relationship which reminded me of my own grandmother and parents but also how important communication is between different generations. At a time when there is a degree of intolerance between older and younger people, Jess and Norma have always shown that by listening, respecting, communicating, and having fun, precious memories can be made and lessons can be learned inter-generationally. This book is an extension of this and is, I believe, an important one to read.
Presented in an engaging way, almost like a conversation between Jess and Norma (with interludes between each chapter containing some contributions from other family members, or random recipes, fun fillers), this is an easy but poignant read. The format within each chapter shows well how times have changed between the 1930s (when Norma was born) until now. My father was born the year before Norma, so most of her general memories of the 30s are relatively familiar to me, but I finish this book wishing I had spoken more to my own grandparents (the last of whom died when I was 18) and made a permanent record of their lives as Jess and Norma have done. What also stands out is their steadfast devotion to each other; Jess is not only Norma's granddaughter but her carer and this book hints at the complexities she has to negotiate, unselfishly, to "give back" to her grandmother in order to keep her comfortably at home. It is heartwarming. It serves as a reminder to cherish every moment with family or friends, as through these lasting memories are made.
I also enjoyed the family photos in the middle of the book, which brought many of the other people to life to whom Norma referred. The letters at the end are also a lovely finishing touch and one that seems particularly poignant with Norma's very recent passing.
I do not tend to buy books by social media content creators, but this one was an exception. And I am glad to have read it. I will be thinking of it for a long time to come.
This book follows the much-loved duo Jess and Norma, known for their heartwarming and humorous social media videos. I’ve followed them for years and have always been drawn to the special bond they share, so when I discovered they had written a book, I couldn’t wait to read it.
I’m not typically a reader of biographies or memoirs, as I sometimes struggle to fully engage with real-life stories. However, this book completely changed that for me. It feels just like watching one of their videos. It is warm, natural, and full of personality, which is exactly why I enjoyed it so much.
The book is thoughtfully structured into short, accessible chapters, taking us from both Jess and Norma’s early lives through to the realities of ageing, caregiving, and their unexpected rise to social media fame. It’s beautifully written in a conversational style that mirrors their online presence, making it incredibly easy to read and deeply engaging.
What I particularly loved was the insight into parts of their lives that aren’t always shared online. It feels intimate and genuine, as though you’re part of their conversation rather than simply reading about it.
The writing is personal, moving, and powerful, capturing both the joy and challenges they’ve experienced. I’m especially tempted to try one of Norma’s recipes and take on board some of her life advice.
Key themes throughout the book include resilience, particularly in the face of loss, along with grief, ageing, and health challenges. It also touches on more difficult topics such as alcohol abuse. These are handled with honesty and sensitivity, adding real depth to their story.
I found it difficult to identify any real weaknesses. From the very first page, I was completely absorbed. It is one of those books that is hard to put down.
That said, I do feel this book may resonate most with readers who are already familiar with Jess and Norma. Without that context, some of the charm and familiarity might be lost. However, for fans, it is a perfect companion piece.
Since the book was written, Norma has sadly passed away. There is something incredibly special about how she lives on through these pages. Her voice feels present throughout, and you can truly hear both her and Jess as you read. It is a beautiful tribute, not only for readers but for their family as well, and a lasting way to revisit her warmth, humour, and wisdom.
Wow! What a roller coaster! This book was incredible, heart warming and all round beautiful!
I didn’t know who Jess and Norma were not having TikTok or being a huge social media fan. I saw this book on bookstagram and from there watched some of their videos and was hooked! They connected with me instantly as my nan was my close person too!
This story is written like a conversation and that worked well, it had me laughing out loud many times throughout and sobbing in places, my gosh when Jess described her nan and her home as the safe place she returned to at tough times, I was in bits as have always described my nan and her home the same. Also the crinkle cut chip comment was a belter 🤣 Norma had the best sense of humour that I think passed onto Jess!
If you are looking for a heart warming hug in book form then look no further! This book will make you feel like the pages have wrapped you up in the warmest embrace, with heart warming moments and humour weaved into every chapter! It will tug at your heart strings and make you want to cherish those you love that little bit tighter!
I rarely read a book twice, in fact I don’t think I ever have but this book, this book I would re read whenever I want to feel better! To be up lifted! Absolutely beautiful, five stars and beyond. Worth every penny! Well done Jess and Norma 🩷💙
After watching a lot of Jess and Norma on TikTok I decided I wanted to try something new and read their autobiography. S since we lost Norma in June 2025, I felt like I wanted to read their story in tribute but also to learn more about both Jess and Norma. I found the tiktoks enjoyable to watch. Norma was a real inspiration and will always be missed, I bet she will be looking down smiling at their latest book release.
There were lots of moments within the book that made me laugh, one favourite had to be Norma saying about Jess fanning her face and peeling grapes. There were also many areas of the book that were relatable for me including watching Tracy beaker, talking about the Argos catalogue and circling the toys you want for Christmas, games such as hungry hippos, buckeroo, Jenga and operation what all board games I grew up with. TV programmes such as Brum, tweenies, Teletubbies and Rosie and Jim were all watched by me. Finally, the mention of casualty which is one of my favourite programmes was a particular highlight for me.
I find the book relatable, there were lots of moments where I felt I could relate to how they were both feeling, and I feel this book gives a great insight into Jess and Normas bond. Highly recommend this to other readers.
A Heartwarming Story of Love, Laughter, and an Unbreakable Bond 💖📚
Jess and Norma: A Lifetime of Laughter and Our Unbreakable Bond is a truly beautiful and uplifting read. This book captures the deep connection between Jess and Norma in a way that feels genuine, emotional, and incredibly inspiring. 💕

The storytelling is heartfelt and engaging, making it easy to connect with Jess and Norma and feel like you’re part of their journey. Their story is both touching and uplifting, leaving readers with a sense of gratitude for the meaningful relationships in their own lives. 🌟
If you enjoy books that celebrate real connections, resilience, and the beauty of lifelong companionship, this one is definitely worth reading. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after the final page. 📖✨
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an emotional, inspiring, and feel-good read! 💫
I was such a huge fan of Jess and Norma’s videos online, as Norma was such a reminder of my Nanny Vi. I’m very lucky to still have my Nan, which made this read even more emotional, knowing that Norma is no longer with us.
This is such a beautiful, nostalgic and cosy book. It feels like sitting down with them both and being part of their conversations. A quote I absolutely loved from Norma was, ‘I look back on all of my life with great pleasure. It hasn’t been madly romantic or extravagant, but I’ve been comfortable, warm and happy. I don’t think you can ask for much more than that.’ It’s a lovely reminder to find joy and love in the everyday, and to appreciate what’s already all around us.
Being a similar age to Jess, and with my Nanny Vi being a similar age to Norma, I found so many similarities between their story and ours. It was incredibly emotional, and now I’ve finished the book I’m going straight to my Nanny Vi to give her the biggest hug and have a proper chat. My Nan is a keen reader, so I’ll definitely be passing this on to her next.
The writing style, of them having a conversation was a really lovely method. I have watched all their videos and so I could hear their voices as I read.
I got the digital copy but now I will buy the actual book. This was a good read, one I will revisit often.
When Jess announced Norma’s passing my heart broke for her. I felt like a very dear friend had gone. I will miss Norma but am so thankful for the time she was in my life. She brought sunshine and laughter to many days.
I hope Jess keeps on doing social media. She is as important to the world as Norma was. I follow her and Jake and enjoy their content so much.
I have glimpses of my grandmother but she passed when I was young.
This book has shown how important it is to share stories and keep family close.
I am a huge fan of Jess & Norma (🤍), and I just knew this autobiography would not dissapoint!
I have giggled but sobbed throughout and it literally feels like you're in Norma's living room right there listening to their conversation.
It brought me so many happy tears because the magic of their stories, made me think back to my own childhood / adulthood with my own Nanna, and how very similar they were. Also with that tinge of sadness that I never got to have quite so in depth topics discussed. But ultimately, it such a beautiful, poignant and special read. I'm just so devastated for Jess that Norma never got to see the book once it was published 😔.
Whether you've watched them on social media or not, you need to pick this book up and enjoy with a good brew as I can assure you you will binge it in one of day like I did ❤️
Reading this book felt unexpectedly personal for me. As I moved through their stories — the playful teasing, the honest conversations, the moments of grief wrapped in humour — I found myself thinking about my own Nan, whose loss I’m still learning to carry. Jess and Norma’s gentle, everyday love reminded me of the small rituals and inside jokes I miss most, and somehow made the weight of that absence feel a little softer. What struck me most was the book’s warmth: nothing dramatic, just real life made meaningful through connection. And when I reached the acknowledgements page, its sweetness caught me off guard. The genuine gratitude, the way Jess writes about Norma and the community around them, felt like a final, tender hug. This book doesn’t just tell a story; it offers comfort to anyone grieving someone they adored.
I am a recent follower of Jess and Norma and was deeply saddened that Norma recently passed away.
Jess and Norma’s book is like their relationship, a warm embrace, a love letter to their relationship and a testament to the power of laughter through every stage of life. From the first page, Jess and Norma invite us into their world with humour, honesty, and grace. What shines most is the genuine affection they have for each other.
This book doesn’t just chronicle their close-knit relationship, it reminds us of the people who hold us up, and make us laugh until we cry.
A beautiful, heartfelt tribute to Norma in all its forms. You’ll laugh, you might cry, and you’ll absolutely want to call and visit your own loved ones after reading this book.
Everyone already feels like they know Jess and Norma from social media, and loves them. To dig a little deeper and learn more about their background, their relationship, and thoughts on difficult subject matters was just a joy to read. I liked how it read like a conversation between the 2 of them, and felt that the banter between them was as rich as ever.
I also liked that they talked, grief, mental health, community etc as its brings these subjects to the forefront.
Of course this is all so bittersweet with Norma's recent passing. But this book is a great tribute to an outstanding lady, the nation's nana. The letters that they write each other had me in tears, but there's a lot of laughs along the way too.
A short and sweet story about the relationship between granddaughter and grandmother, and their rise to fame through social media. I stumbled upon the account a couple years back and immediately fell in love with them, noting how many similarities Norma had with my own grandmother. Norma passed in June of this year, so this book felt fitting to read in her memory. The book felt more like a chronological timeline, as opposed to the heartwarming clips they shared online, so it was a fine read but not mind blowing. I still go back and watch their videos frequently, though, and those bring me much joy. (Ebook)
