Tara Springett presents kundalini as a natural/embodied force for psychological growth and spiritual enlightenment.
Yes.
Springett emphasizes safe, gradual awakening through a heart-centered, step by step approach that prioritizes safety and stability.
Yes gurl.
Springett offers guidance for both intentional seekers as well as those struggling with difficult, unintended, unexpected and or uncomfortable kundalini symptoms.
Im here.

The book blends trad Tibetan Buddhist wisdom with practical psychotherapeutic advice (she used to be a therpaist).
We love.
Springett focuses on stability, healing, in the awakening process, which she views and primarily a path more toward love, clarity, service and authentic self realization.
Whats not love here.
5 stars ✨
NOTE: this book is ABSOLUTELY not for everyone. For starters, Springett claims to have channeled the text directly from White Tara (a Tibetan Buddhist deity). That alone should be enough to alienate 90% of would-be readers. And. If it doesn’t alienate you a-priori. That may also be a problem.
I’m actually pretty shocked that I’m giving this 5/5 stars. I’m frankly (perhaps even more) shocked that I even read it, let alone finished and loved it. But I did. And I did. And I did.
I have been doing a lot of changing lately.
Old me would have completely dismissed (burned) this book.
"Enlightenment Through the Path of Kundalini: A Tibetan-Buddhist Guide for Safe Awakening and Overcoming Difficult Symptoms" is a thorough guide to using the energy of kundalini on the path to enlightenment and for working through difficult symptoms of an involuntary awakening of kundalini, called kundalini syndrome. The author speaks of her spiritual journey as she worked with her kundalini awakening, and I like how she states that the symptoms of an awakening force you to make changes in your life, that it is an ongoing thing, much like puberty, and that it is a life change. She includes words and guidance from White Tara, who is the Tibetan equivalent of the Hindu goddess Parvati and the Chinese deity Kwan Yin, that she received through meditations and question-and-answer sessions with White Tara. White Tara is a popular figure in Tibetan Buddhism. Though this book is written through the lens of Buddhism, the author also in places includes terminology that a Christian would relate to. The book explains what kundalini is and how it relates to enlightenment. There are thorough chapters on How We Change Through a Kundalini Awakening and Dealing with the Challenges of a Kundalini Awakening. There is an exhaustive list of possible symptoms that may need to be dealt with, as well as ways to help ease and remedy the symptoms as you progress on your spiritual journey. The author includes prep work on starting a voluntary kundalini awakening safely. There is a chapter on preparation, purifying of the chakras, and then a chapter on actually awakening the kundalini. I especially like how the author states that the prep work can take weeks, months, and years to accomplish, and that you can't rush or force the process. That takes off the pressure of "not getting there fast enough", meaning not progressing through the meditations and prep work and reaching the desired goal of each within minutes or days; it lets you know that it is normal and likely to take time and patience. There is also a brief chapter about the deity-state, or being in a state of grace (I think is how you would describe it in Christian terms), where you have union with your higher power. Finally, there is an appendix of testimonials of how the author's work and knowledge have helped people through their kundalini awakenings.
I first wanted to read this book because I was curious about what exactly kundalini was and what was kundalini syndrome and its symptoms. It took me some time to really grasp and understand the information because it was all so new to me (no fault of the author). The book was very thorough and exhaustive in all the possibilities of what could happen during a kundalini awakening and how to ease and work through it. I like how she highly recommends working through psychological traumas and negative emotions before attempting your own kundalini awakening because the energy of kundalini will amplify all emotions. She cautions against reading the kundalini horror stories on the Internet, and describes a safe method of voluntarily awakening your own kundalini. She also states that you can't and shouldn't attempt to awaken your kundalini for selfish purposes, that these will be issues you will have to work through. Awakening your kundalini should be for spiritual purposes. "The main thrust of the kundalini is to awaken a motivation in us to change our life to become more healthy, loving, and spiritual in all areas." I also really liked the color photographs of the author's own embroidery work as related to enlightened beings and White Tara. The author also explains very thoroughly what sorts of changes can be expected when your kundalini awakens, such as the wish to become more loving and compassionate, paranormal experiences, a moving away from 'normal society', heightened sensitivity, being forced to deal with unresolved issues, psychosomatic symptoms, self-improvement in every area of our lives, and also many positive changes including bliss, heightened creativity, better health, deeper insight, ego liberation, and eventually enlightenment. This review may have been rambling, but I hope it helps others who are trying to get a feel for the book. I recommend this book if you feel you can relate to some of the kundalini symptoms because, after seeing a medical professional to rule out any physical body issues (which the author recommends several times throughout the book), this book is full of advice on how to cope with and ease through the more troubling aspects of a kundalini awakening.
I received this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This book was amazing for me because the author showed exceptionally clearly how the energy of Kundalini can be used to progress on the spiritual path. I was attracted by the title because I have been suffering from some unpleasant symptoms of Kundalini syndrome and I had become somewhat depressed and fatalistic about it all. Springett has given me new hope through the clarity of her writing and the insights she channelled from White Tara.
I would sincerely recommend this book to all spiritual seekers.
I was very interested to understand more about kandukini energy. I felt the book lacked any scientific talk, and what turned me off the most was the idea that the author got communication from a divine being. I felt if these talks were portrayed as self talk wouldve been more acceptable than to put the words under a divine being.
However, the book had its small share of some aha moments.
Excellent and practical instructions on how to work with Kundalini, from a predominantly Tibetan Buddhist point of view. This book would have been a great help when I started my Buddhist practice and I can highly recommend this to anyone dealing with Kundalini symptoms, or are interested in internal energy practices.
Useful for anyone interested in kundalini yoga and the whole energetic process involved. It explains a lot of misconceptions and tries to show you how to keep away from manufactured or forced kundalini practice.
