She’s done with athletes. He’s done with dating. Christmas has other plans.
Seth Larsen is a charmer—a shortstop for the Seattle Seafarers who’s mastered the art of first dates. When his therapist challenges him to give up dating for a year, he lasts exactly one game before tossing his number on a baseball to a beautiful woman behind home plate.
After a devastating breakup with an athlete, Callie Marsh has sworn off dating entirely. As a rising foodie influencer, she’s laser-focused on her next big a holiday food truck festival in Maui. The last thing she needs is a baseball player’s number.
But fate has other ideas. An auctioned date, a flooded house, and a destination wedding force Seth and Callie into each other’s orbit again and again—culminating in one hotel suite and a tropical Christmas neither saw coming. As the lines between “just friends” and something more begin to blur, they’ll have to were they right to swear off love, or was Christmas just waiting for the perfect moment to intervene?
A Maui Little Christmasis a tropical romance featuring forced proximity, witty banter, and sizzling tension. This closed-door romance offers the perfect escape for readers who want a quick holiday story with heart—no explicit content, no heavy drama, just two people discovering that sometimes the best gifts can’t be wrapped.
Ella Beachley is happiest at the beach—any beach. She also enjoys fish tacos, hiking, and witty conversations with friends. She lives with her husband and two boys in Idaho.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Seth & Callie - Dual POV - Christmas romcom - Adorable meetcute - Baseball player MMC - Artist’s PA & foodie influencer FMC - Maui vacation - He takes care of her - She takes care of him - Stranded in one car (like of one bed) - Author made playlist (in the back of the the book)
✨ a few of my favorite things: - that was super smooth with the ball and his number - Their Seattle date - Their bonding over good food - The cameos from Max and Nola, and Joel and Natalie - Ahhh their sailboat date - All their Hawaiian adventures - Callie’s blunt, and frank nature - Seth wanting to help and expressing that men need to feel wanted. So just let him help sometimes! - The Nicknames
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Very cute. Ella wrote a fun, Christmas-y vacation romcom. Seth and Callie are insta-love. The MCs are blunt and honest. They have adult conversations. Sometimes they shy away from hard emotions or things they don’t want to deal with but overall they are upfront with one another. The push each other to try new things and go on more adventures while on vacation and at the beginning of the book in real life. There is also a heavy focus on the MMC’s process of less people pleasing and being more sure of himself from their help of his therapist.
This was a wholesome, easy to read Christmas romcom for anyone just needing something super light hearted. I personally struggle with the concept of insta-love and the believability of it. I still thought it was cute and flirty, despite it feeling their connection was quick and a bit rushed here and there.
This is a closed door Christmas romcom with loads of Christmas cheer, no cursing, no innuendo, and just non descriptive kissing.
**Thank you so much to Ella for letting me read this gifted ARC. No positive review was required. All thoughts are my own.**
This was a quick paced, fun, light-hearted, holiday romance. It’s a pretty short book but the story was adorable. I liked that there wasn’t a lot of drama and that the obstacles they faced were relatable and real-worldish. What’s not to like about a man in therapy working on himself and attempting the be able to validate himself from the inside versus looking for external validation. I loved both the main characters and found them to be endearing and cute together. It was so fun watching Callie and Seth find themselves, find each other and fall in love. Overall, an enjoyable holiday read. Would I recommend it? Yes! 🎄 🏝️ 🫶🏼
*Side note. This is a second book. A couple mentioned in this book had their own story called “Painting the Corners.” I did not know this going in but definitely got the vibe pretty quickly. I might go back and read that one as well, but they are interconnected stand alones so it’s absolutely not required.*
Notable Quotables:
“You’re trying to kill me, woman.”
“She told me it was a top five day. I assume it has to do with the whole situation of being on the boat, experiencing all that we are, but when I agree it is a top five day, she is my reason.”
“We. The best two-letter word on the planet.”
“I’m not worried about running out of things to discuss. I’m positive I could talk to you forever.”
“Everybody’s weird and everybody’s boring. The goal is to find somebody who’s weird enough to keep things interesting but not awkward. A person boring enough to keep you grounded but not suck the life out of you.”
“All the thoughts of my mental battle disappear, and I’m almost asleep when he says, “All I want for Christmas is you.”
“I was doing something nice to the best I knew how, and if you didn’t see it that way, that doesn’t devalue me. It’s okay for us to have a difference of opinion. I think I did the right thing, and my intentions were pure. Boom. Validation has come from within.”

Everything you could want in a Christmas romcom this book has!!! Seth and Callie ❤️ perfection!
I had a blast reading this book. The meet cute was so perfect and had me hooked! I just want to have a good time, not think too much, and swoon in a holiday romcom and that is exactly what happened.
My favorite thing about Callie was her easy going nature and her independent spirit. She was up for any adventure and had a good attitude. She is Nola’s (painting the corners) person assistant and also a social media foodie. She was invited to attend a food truck festival in Maui to gain interest and hype up the event. Right before the holidays and after meeting Seth her house flooded. Seth invites her to Maui on his all inclusive silent auction trip he “won” while she figures out what to do about her home being renovated. Except she has a no dating an athlete rule.
Seth is a shortstop for the Seattle baseball team. His therapist recently challenged him to take a year off of dating to find himself. I adore Seth. He is so caring, sweet and down to earth. He and Callie venture on this trip to Maui to attend Max and Nola’s vow renewal.
Callie needs space to figure out this social media event and Seth just wants to be with Callie. They both have a plan to not date. They go on adventures, eat all the food, and slowly share their hearts with each other.
If you liked Painting the Corners and wanted more of those characters you’ll like this book. If you want a quick feel good romcom you’ll like this book. If you want wholesome characters with not too much drama you’ll like this book.
Thank you Ella for this arc! All opinions are my own.
“Yes. It tracks that because I don’t like the ocean, I fall in it, and because I hate seafood so much, I go and catch the biggest fish of them all.”
“I don’t buy the tough-woman act. Everybody’s weird and everybody’s boring. The goal is to find somebody who’s weird enough to keep things interesting but not awkward. A person boring enough to keep you grounded but not suck the life out of you.”
Have Yourself a Maui Little Christmas is exactly the kind of light, feel-good holiday read I enjoy picking up between heavier books! The relationship dynamics are easy, fun, and filled with the kind of chemistry that feels effortless. I especially loved that the characters head to Maui simply to relax, have fun, and be friends—it gives the story an enjoyable, low-pressure vibe that works extremely well!
The humor throughout is another highlight. The banter is quick, genuine, and consistently entertaining. Ella Beachley does a wonderful job bringing the setting and the characters to life; I often felt as though I were right there with them, living vicariously through every moment!
While this is not an intensely Christmas-centered book, and while the abundant food talk occasionally tested my patience (and my cravings haha), the character focus more than made up for it—particularly when it comes to Seth.
I appreciated the depth he brings to the story and the fact that he is sincerely trying to grow. His honesty, especially in moments where he finally shares his feelings, is both endearing and genuinely funny. This truly feels like a story centered around the MMC working through his own challenges in a meaningful way. It is rare to find a book that is centered around the MMC and what he going through mentally.
Callie is equally enjoyable. Her high energy and independence give the narrative a great balance, and I loved how confidently she stands in her own lane. Seth’s enthusiasm—his refusal to wait any longer to tell her how he feels—made their dynamic even more compelling and just do exciting!!
By the end, this proved to be the perfect quick holiday read. I laughed many times, and the personal touches from the author made the experience even better. Knowing Ella’s tone through our voice messages gave certain lines an extra sparkle, and I couldn’t help but smile at the Tillamook chocolate peanut butter ice cream reference!
A warm, humorous, and heartfelt novella that delivers exactly what it promises!
Okay, so that was adorable!! A Maui Little Christmas was the cutest Hawaiian holiday story of Callie (an artist assistant and social media food influencer) and Seth (a professional baseball player).
The first time Seth sees Callie in the stands (wearing a suit), he can’t resist himself and tosses her a ball with his phone number on it. She retaliates by tossing it back with her own number on it and isn’t surprised when at first she doesn’t hear from him. When she bids on a lunch date with a baseball player at a charity auction, she does not anticipate it being Seth! Add in a flooded house, an opportunity to cover a food event in Hawaii, a baseball player with a heart of gold who likes to fix things, and the perfect resort in Maui, and you’ve got one adorable love story!!
I loved this book so much! Callie and Seth were so dang cute! I loved their quick friendship, their banter, and their chemistry! I like seeing how Seth was working on himself, thanks to his therapist, and becoming a better version of himself! I thought they balanced each other out perfectly!
Favorite quotes:
“I’ve paid attention tonight, and he’s definitely the best-looking player. Dressed up in a sharp tux with his five o’clock shadow and messy blond curls, he’s an energy.”
“Okay. Two friends in Maui during Christmas. It’s totally innocent.” My internal fist-bumping excitement about a few days in Hawaii with Callie is quashed all too fast by Max’s almost-missed, “Famous last words.”
“I’ll die on the hill that it’s hard to be unhappy when dining in the glow of a Christmas tree.”
“I appreciate a woman who isn’t afraid of calories. Life’s too short to miss out on eating good food.”
This book was absolute perfection and has me ready to pack my bags for Hawaii! Ella Beachley has this incredible way of writing settings that make you feel like you’re living the adventure right alongside her characters—and this tropical holiday romance delivered all the sunshine, swoon, and serotonin.
Seth is sworn off dating. Callie is done with athletes. …Christmas, however, has other plans.
From a ballpark meet-cute to a flooded house, an auctioned trip to Maui, and a one-suite situation , fate keeps tossing these two together in the best ways. Their chemistry crackles, their banter is effortless, and watching their walls fall in the softest, sweetest ways was everything I want in a holiday romcom.
Seth completely stole my heart—charming, growing, vulnerable, and genuinely good. And Callie? Independent, adventurous, and so easy to root for. Together, they’re the perfect blend of cozy connection and tropical sparkle.
This story is lighthearted, closed-door, and wonderfully low-drama…the kind of holiday escape you pick up for “one more chapter” and finish in a single sitting. Between food truck festivals, vow renewals, Hawaiian sunsets, and heartfelt moments, this novella is the definition of feel-good.
A Maui Little Christmas = sunshine, swoons, and pure Christmas joy. Thank you so much Ella for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This one was fantastic!!! Ella Beachley always delivers on the wonderful banter!
Seth and Callie were cute and fun together. The forced proximity was great! I loved how Callie was so open and honest with him. I was curious about Seth and his anxiety around certain things. His character was interesting and played really well into the sports romance part. He was so sweet with Callie, just wanting to be with her. I loved how this went along with Callie's independence and her character arc as well. Seth softened her edges. They were just adorable together! This was such a fun read as well! Seth's holiday themed filler words were awesome!! And they get into the best trouble together, like the volcano... IYKYK!
The Hawaiian Christmas vibes were perfect and I loved see all the different settings Beachley featured. What a perfect setting to spend Christmas vacation! She really showcasing these amazing places with her writing and makes you want to travel to see them for yourself because they are just liked she describes. And I loved that she included some cameos from her first couple, Natalie and Joel! The food truck scenes were great and I loved seeing more about Callie's passion.
Such a wonderful read for those great Christmas in Hawaii vibes! Well written and perfectly paced in a novella length!
Tropes/Micro tropes - Golden Retriever, Baseball Player MMC - Independent and successful FMC - Strangers to Friends to Lovers - Vacation Romance - Sport Romance - She takes care of his wound - Forced Proximity - All the cutest dates - Both sworn off dating in different ways
My Thoughts:
Seth and Callie’s romance is so sweet! It was full of all the banter. From the first chapter of their meeting to the epilogue this is a feel good fun Christmas story! It’s got me dreaming of a Hawaiian Holiday!
I loved the tie in to the characters from Painting the Corners it was so fun to see them again in brief moments.
I loved watching as Seth and Callie as their relationship grew and as they both grew as characters!
If you love a Christmas romances, with some sport mixed in, all the cute banter and just the cutest dates and a bit of Hawaiian spirit mixed in this is for you!
Thanks so much to the author for the ARC copy, all thoughts and opinions are my own!

“Mele Kalikimaka, Suits.”
••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
~She’s done with athletes. He’s done with dating. Christmas has other plans…
“We…The best two-letter word on the planet.”
-A MAUI LITTLE Christmas, is a delightful tropical romance with forced proximity, witty banter, and sizzling tension. This is a quick, but fun holiday story with no explicit content or heavy drama to worry about. I thoroughly enjoyed the quick forming friendship, the witty banter, the delightful chemistry within, and watching characters be themselves. Most of all, I loved watching how two people discover that sometimes the best gifts can’t be wrapped. This simply is a heartwarming story full of humor and heart! It does not disappoint, whatsoever but, will have you craving the tropical islands, and good food! A MAUI LITTLE Christmas, is worth the fun read any day but, especially with the holidays ahead, and in the air!🌴📚❤️
“You don’t have to prove yourself to me because I’m crazy about you just the way you are.”
•Content: some feelings of loneliness, someone does get punched, some drinking/one person is drunk, slightly strained relationship with parents, no language. Kisses only.
“Everybody’s weird and everybody’s boring. The goal is to find somebody who’s weird enough to keep things interesting but not awkward. A person boring enough to keep you grounded but not suck the life out of you.”
-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

“It’s Christmas, and Christmas is a time for miracles.”
Ella has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and her newest book is an absolute delight. This sweet, heart-warming story will have you falling in love with Seth and Callie from the very first chapter. You’ll find yourself rooting for them, savoring the fish tacos right alongside them, and feeling like you’re spending Christmas in Maui with the characters themselves. A must-read for anyone who loves a charming holiday romance!
I didn't just enjoy the chemistry and the location of the book (Hello Hawaii!) but the characters themselves.
We already know Callie from Book 1 but Seth's character 'as introduced' and 'as you find him throughout the book' makes you think. Not just about the perception but also how much pain or truth people have to hide from the world.
And can we please talk about how much of a Green Flag Seth is? The way he is so supportive of Callie and knows that her success is not in competition with his. Makes sense that Callie looks good in green 💚
This is only the second book I have read by Ella, but I am a fan of the way she writes Male Characters and I am definitely reading all her books. Highly recommended.
The author describes this as a “bite-sized holiday read” which I totally agree with! Not as long as a novel so it’s easy to squeeze in on your holiday TBR, but more substance than most novellas. Things I loved: - tropical vacation Christmas read - Seth (the main male character) sees a therapist for an issue that I can completely relate to; was refreshing to see a male character going to therapy for “everyday type” mental and he is open about seeing the therapist. Also, there are some fantastic therapy nuggets included! - got to see more of Max and Nola from Painting the Corners - Seth calls Callie “Suits” (because she always wears suits) - Seth’s view on the Hallmark romance formula! - Seth is funny and so sweet! (Eg. He has stopped cursing and instead says things like “Holly Jolly Nutcracker” !)
Looking for a tropical escape for your holiday TBR? A Maui Little Christmas has you covered! Seth and Callie won me over right from that charming meet-cute... and while that initial meeting didn't go very far and neither were looking for romance, fate had other plans with a series of events putting them together... and ultimately landing them together in a Hawaiian resort for the holidays. These two had a really fun dynamic with great banter and undeniable chemistry. I couldn't help but enjoy them together. I loved how he was just drawn to her, and despite plans not to date for a year, he couldn't help but want to step in to help her... there was also something about seeing his insecurities that made him really endearing and made me root for their happily ever after all that much more. If you love baseball romance and tropical holiday vibes, this is certainly one you'll want to read this holiday season.
A Maui Little Christmas is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is connected to the One Hit Wonders series, and while you'll see some familiar characters, I do think this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Do I love the quirkiness of this title?! Yes! Do I love that we got another great story out from Ella Beachley this year?! Also, yes! This novella will warm your heart and give you all the holiday vibes you want, plus make you a little (or lot) hungry!
Callie, if you didn’t know, is Nola’s assistant and almost always seen in a suit… including in the opening of this book! While her family would prefer to go into their law practice, she stands her ground and lives by her own terms. One of these terms is also becoming a famous food influencer! The girl has some major cred and has plans to stay extend her stay in Maui after Max and Nola’s wedding to do a feature on the holiday food truck festival. This is all well and good until her house floods and suddenly she must pivot those plans. Those plans however don’t go belly up as Seth steps in with a solution.
Seth, Max’s teammate on the Seattle Seafarers, good guy and notorious flirt. Unfortunately for him, his flirting must be put on hold as he’s encouraged to take a year of frivolity and focus on finding his best self! But he can’t help himself when he sees Callie… flirts some, but when he’s present as she unloads some emotional blows, Seth can’t help himself to trying to help. Even if it means he dances around the truth some. He offers Callie the other half to his hotel suite and she readily pounces on the opportunity!
While in Maui, the two discover a kinship despite him being a steak/potatoes and her being all things seafood person. I would love to say the road to whatever it is they are seeking from each other is smooth sailing, it’s not. Some moments are fun and playful, yet others aren’t as enjoyable. Whatever they face, they seem to stick by each other as well as share some good laughs too. Also, let it be said, the mentioning of my favorite ice cream company and ideal flavor, sell me for this novella even more! IYKYK! I love how this connection came out of the infield (baseball pun) and transformed into something out of this world! If you’re looking to escape the cold this winter, might I suggest you head to Maui this season?! Mele Kalikimaka!
The vibes: - Hawaiian setting - Novella - Christmas timeline - Forced proximity - Black cat x golden retriever - Closed door
My thoughts: 🌴 This was so cute. “An auctioned date, a flooded house, and a destination wedding force Seth and Callie into each other's orbit again and again-culminating in one hotel suite and a tropical Christmas neither saw coming.”
🌴 The friendship progression in this book was so cute. Callie is rough around the edges at moments. I mostly loved how assertive she was but there was a moment or two where I was shocked with her gumption 😂. BUT I feel like that’s how real people are. We do things that can feel like *too much. So it worked as a whole for me, and the more that I read, the more I really liked Seth and Callie individually and also as a couple. Their dynamic was unique and I liked their progression. And the way they didn’t rush to say “I love you” was probably my favorite part. It just made sense with this timeline, and I really appreciated that the author didn’t force it here.
🌴 ALSO- I cannot forget to mention the settings of Hawaii. I have never been, but I felt like I could actually visualize everything which is rare for me (yes I’m one of THOSE readers who doesn’t see much in my mind’s eye). The places and the foods made me want to book a flight to Maui immediately.
🌴This wasn’t overly festive (likely due to the tropical settings) but Christmas was never forgotten and remained in the background throughout. It’s hard to make me feel all the feelings in a shorter story like this and this did it for me.
🎥 The dynamic between the two main characters reminded me of the characters from the hallmark movie, Merry Christmas Ted Cooper (which I loved).
A Maui Little Christmas is definitely merry, and the perfect tropical Christmas read! I was amazed at how much Ella Beachley was able to fit into this novella without making it rushed or too surface level. I loved Seth and Callie both as individuals and with each other. They both struggle a bit with their current lives and feeling the pressure to live up to their parents’ expectations. Callie is a strong, independent, sassy woman and Seth is instantly drawn to her. Seth is so sweet and down to earth. Their baseball meet-cute grabbed me from the start. I enjoyed how they became friends immediately after a little hiccup and were so comfortable with each other. I loved Seth’s desire to help her and spend time with her. Callie was so honest with Seth and called him out on a few things but encourages and takes care of him. They both grow as people as they share more of themselves with the other. It’s a little ironic that they both have a no dating policy but spend a good amount of time together on very date-like adventures. A Maui Little Christmas is a must read!
My favorite things: - Fun baseball meet-cute - The auction date - Dancing on the beach - All the wonderful food - Seth’s substitute swear words - Sailing and fishing date - Stargazing - The epilogue!
Tropes: tropical romance = Christmas in Hawaii = foodie influencer = baseball player = forced proximity = he falls first = witty banter = swoony kisses
♡ mini review ♡ A Maui Little Christmas Ella Beachley ____________________ Genre: Rom Com Pages: 195 Rating: 5 Stars
Ella Beachley nails it every time. It has the perfect balance of depth, comic relief and swoon. These characters were adorable, well rounded and totally relatable! Seth Larsen might be the male version of me in another life hahaha.
I loved being transported to Hawaii during Christmas. The aesthetics were gorgeous, the vibes were on point and the music put me in the holiday spirit.
Read if you like: -Baseball -Secret grand gestures -Catamaran and fishing date -Auction -Star gazing -Food trucks -Natalie and Joel -Power Suits
Ella Beachley strikes gold again...gold kissed sand beaches that is! This book has my favorite holiday and my favorite place on Earth, so how could it not be pure gold!
I loved how Callie and Seth played off of one another. They knew exactly when to push and pull and we just fun to read. They were so comfortable and casual that it kept me intrigued and wanting more.
Things I loved: 🌴 The auction bidding 🌴 Seth's fear of the ocean (probably because my husband has a similar fear, just not quite as traumatic) 🌴 Joel's bro crush on Seth 🌴Seth's kid friendly expletives 🌴 The Haleakala trip 🌴 The fish taco kiss
Ella always writes deep characters that feel grounded and the experiences they share always feel authentic. As someone who is in their early 40s, I appreciate this because I feel like I can relate to the characters even though they are younger than myself.
I will always recommend Ella's books and this one is no different! It's a great fun Christmas book that will leave you singing Mele Kalekemaka and planning your next trip to Maui! 😎
Spending the holidays on Maui without having to be working was what she thought waa going to be the perfect holidays. He was told by his therapist to not date anyone for a year to find himself again. I love Callies independent spirit but also loves adventures, but flooding in her apartment puts a damper in her holiday. But Seth comes to the rescue inviting her to spend ths holidays at a all inclusive trip he "won" on a action.
In all of this, she has a no athlete dating rule, he can't date for a year but the spend every minute of their time in Hawaii enjoying each other's company, going on adventures, trying foods, and just simple being in each other company even when Callie wants alone time, Seth just wants to be present. So if you want to know more about this characters, make sure you read this one♥︎
Thank you to the author for the eARC of A Maui Little Christmas! We got to return to the One Hit Wonders series and see cameos by the old characters, but I really loved the relationship between Callie and Seth.
Callie has vowed to stop dating athletes, and Seth, a professional baseball player, has vowed to stop dating for a year to work on himself. Yet when Seth first seems Callie he can’t resist approaching her, and their mutual friends keep bringing them together. When Callie’s house floods, she opts to extend her stay in Hawaii with Seth, since they’re already there for Nola and Max’s wedding.
Lots of great banter and hilarious situations ensue. I loved their open communication and friendship. This is a great bite-sized holiday read, especially if you like a tropical Christmas setting!
I loved this little Christmas book! It's a quick read that will leave you wanting more.
Seth and Callie were fun! He's a baseball player who wants to have a good time. She's a personal assistant/social media influencer who is happiest wearing a power suit. They end up sharing a suite on Maui for Christmas due to some problems at Callie's house.
I loved how Seth just wanted to make things better for Callie. He goes all out on a suite for their destination wedding stay. But he's got some phobias that she can help him with.
I loved how Callie was a perfectionist. But as she's in Maui and forced to slow down a little bit, she begins to let things go. And that was just what she needed.
This little novella was just the tropical escape I needed this Christmas!
Seth is supposed to give up dating for one year to work on himself but at his next game he tosses a ball with his number on it to Callie who has sworn off athletes and is only focused on her contract to cover a food festival in Maui. Extenuating circumstances force the two in to sharing a suite at a fancy Maui resort for a Christmas they didn’t see coming.
I am always looking for books set in Hawaii and this one was great! The setting was really fun as was the romance. The characters were both great and they had great chemistry. While they both needed to learn important lessons, the book didn’t get too dramatic. It is set at Christmastime but it didn’t feel so Christmasy to me that you wouldn’t want to read it another time of year.
Synopsis: Callie is done dating athletes. Seth is a pro baseball player and is done with dating. But when they spend time at their friend’s wedding on Maui, everything changes.
Includes: ✨Golden Retriever Hero ✨Foodie Influencer ✨Christmas in Hawaii ✨Forced Proximity
🌶️Heat Level: Kissing Only Attraction/Tension:🔥
🛑Content Warning: Difficult parental relationship
My Opinion: This is a very light and fun novella. Seth is a charming cinnamon roll, and the way he falls for Callie is really sweet. Callie is very relatable, and it is great to read about her finally relaxing and enjoying life. It’s low angst with fun banter and a cute tension, great to read and relax.
*I received a free review copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.*
Did I read this hilarious christmas romcom in one sitting? You betcha! I love how all of Ella Beachely’s characters can make me laugh out loud and this book was no exception. Seth stole my heart. From feeling like he needs the approval of others to his joking attitude to his big heart, Seth is the best! And I love how Callie grows through this and learns to let her walls down. Definite lesson of not judging a book by its cover…or a man by his career. Witty banter is like 20/10. I loved these two so much and being in Hawaii made me feel like a little sunny Christmas escape. You definitely want to add this to your TBR! I received an advanced copy from the author.
Maui Little Christmas was a hilarious tropical Christmas RomCom. Oh my word, this book had me busting out in laughter! So many humorous and heartwarming moments. While a quick and easy read, this book had an engaging plot that kept me glued to the pages. Seth was the best! He was sweet and thoughtful. Callie was relatable and sassy. Oh the banter between the two of them 😂😍😂. The romance was closed door and kisses only. Such a fun Christmas RomCom adventure in Hawaii. Highly recommend if you love forced proximity, sport romance, and swoon off dating stories!
I volunteered to read an ARC copy of the book and all thoughts are my own.
Forget desiring a white Christmas, the Hawaiian Christmas vibes in A Maui Little Christmas are the perfect setting for a holiday rom-com vacation! Ella is so vivid in her description of Hawaii, you feel like you’re right there soaking in the beauty while also dreaming of traveling there yourself in real life!
Seth and Callie as main characters and love interests, are open and upfront with one another having adult conversations and not shying away from the truth or hard topics. It was refreshing to read their dialogue and see them encourage each other to try new things and be more adventurous. The banter is quick, genuine, and consistently entertaining.
While a stand alone novel, if you enjoyed Painting the Corners and wanted more of those characters then you’ll want to read this book.
Finished in a day, this little novella was perfection! It had everything I needed to keep me engaged: a sweet and swoony and flirty MMC, a funny, kind, lovable FMC, and the best writer a romcom reader could ask for. Let’s be honest, I will devour anything by Ella Beachley as soon as I can get my grubby little paws on it— but she literally gets better and better every book. The communication, the hijinks, the references to her other books? I’m obsessed. LOVE IT.
I really enjoyed this read! Callie and Seth were adorable. Their relationship happened really quickly, but they dealt with their problems by communicating. I appreciated that so much!! They went through a lot together in Hawaii, and I’m glad I got to see their story in a fun little novella after reading Painting the Corners! Definitely pick this one up for a fun lil Christmas read.
I absolutely adored this book. A Christmas in one of my favorite places, Maui! The Pineapple Resort was fictional but this book took me right back to Maui. I loved the dual POV and it is clean with a little bit of kissing. I share the exact same favorite ice cream in Tillamook chocolate peanut butter. I also share the same sentiment about Wham's Last Christmas-I can't stand that song. There is also someone named Ginny in the story. A perfect, short Christmas read.
This story was SO. MUCH. FUN. I loved seeing glimpses of Nola and Max from Painting the Corners, but I loved seeing more of Callie and Seth! Callie is so fiercely independent, and Seth is a bit of a people pleaser. When unfortunate circumstances occur at Callie’s house, Seth offers to help in the form of sweet forced proximity. Their tension and banter was palpable from the start, and I loved how their relationship grew. This story feels complete, which I don’t always get from a novella. Do yourself a favor and pick up this Christmas-in-paradise romcom, and you won’t be able to put it down until their HEA.
