The story follows Malice, who comes to the academy after receiving a letter informing her that her sister is no longer attending.
The thing is, Malice already knows her sister is dead. You see, Malice is a Hollow, someone born without magic, and when her sister died, her powers passed to Malice. Along with those powers, she received a letter from her sister warning her to beware of the wolves.
What starts as Malice trying to find out what happened to her sister slowly turns into something much bigger, touching on politics, power, inequality, privilege, and many other things.
This is definitely more romantic fantasy (fantasy first) than romantasy. There is a love interest and a little spice, but the romance is very much secondary to the main story.
The second half worked much better for me because the pacing picked up considerably. As someone who usually reads romantasy, I would have loved a bit more romance, but that’s purely personal preference.

Moree Moree Moree, i need more of these characters and this incredible story. This one took me by suprise. Because in the beginning it is a lot, but it really is worth it. Ofcourse it has a lot of worldbuilding, explaining because of the magic world. But the more i kept reading, the more i became obsessed with it. It has such incredible characters, the plot is amazing. The amount of times i was spun around was so much, like i was constantly theorizing, trying to figure out what was happening who was the bad guy. I was just so into it, so absorbed, like this story was my own.
I have to say, i need the second book soon, because i am still thinking about these characters and what will come next. It's very hard to even write more because i don't want to give away too much, because that will ruin the surpise/ plot of it all. But just trust me, such a great interesting story!
