Everything is on schedule for Mercy and Melody’s coffee shop/bakery, Sweet Treats, for the Fall and Halloween-themed events planned throughout October. All of those increased customer plans come crashing around them when the water pipe under Mercy’s sink bursts. Chaos erupts when she has to close Sweet Treats for a week, and she has to move in with her twin while the repairs are being done.
John Burnett, a relatively new Mistletoe Valley resident, takes up the job of getting Mercy’s apartment and Sweet Treats fixed up. As the renovation progresses, he realizes how well they fit together and that he doesn’t want to stop visiting her for lunch every day.
Will John be able to keep Mercy in his life after the renovation is complete? Will Mercy accept that she’s found her match? Or will this pairing drift apart once the drywall is replaced and the new paint dries?
Coffee and Candy Corn is a sweet/clean, low-stakes, small-town romance. It is the fourth book in a series of interconnected standalones.
