This gem was my first ARC and it did NOT disappoint! 🖤

It was such a fun and unexpectedly intense read! 😲🔥💯 It’s got that perfect mix of sweetness, spice, and just enough gorey, dark moments to keep you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry between the main characters felt so real, and the tension kept me wanting more with every chapter.

The writing flows easily and pulls you right into the story — I seriously couldn’t stop reading. 📚😍 My only small complaint is that the ending felt a little rushed, but overall this book delivered everything I was hoping for. A flirty, gritty, and addictive read I’d definitely recommend! 😉🌶️

ARC Review --

The story of this book is very interesting, but it's a bit difficult to follow. Don't trust your instincts on this book. Expect the unexpected. You'll be finished with this page gripping book in no time. The spice is MINT and I would read this again just for the 🌶️🌶️.

ARC Review! What a fun little read this was! Who doesn't love a morally grey man?! I think I would have thoroughly enjoyed this as a full length novel as it was hard to understand all of the characters and their motives, etc. This was a great spicy novella! Looking forward to reading more of this author 😊

I am mostly confused by this book. And that could be a me problem. I did not understand the characters, so their motivations were lost on me. And for a serial killer who kills people that are connected to the FMC, I think motivations are important. We have a FMC who lost her brother in the first chapter of the book, and we kind of meet his best friends, but we don't really understand their connections to each other. Nor do we understand their connections to the FMC. But we are given a small tell, that one of them promised the brother that he would look out for the sister. And then disappears from her life. (huh?) But why does this translate into him killing people for her? The whole premise of this book is that there is a serial killer (the best friend of the brother), bodies are piling up (why?), and it all culminates at this haunt where he chases her on this wooded trail after killing two more people (why again?). We do get his POV, but all he keeps saying is that once it's all over (once WHAT is all over???) then she will understand (God I hope someone does!). He chases her, catches her, they do the hoedown, and then he kidnaps because the cops are closing in. She wakes, and is pissed, but then she's not because he tells her that her brother is still alive (What?), other things are revealed that still do not make any sense, and then she kills a cop so they can be on the run together. (is this a HEA? I can't be sure because again, SO confused) Another random character is introduced in the epilogue that is supposed to set us up for the second book I guess, but just made me mad because at this point I am so confused that even the sex did not make up for my utter loss of a plot at this point. I give this 2 stars and will not be reading the second book. I would have loved to see a LOT more character development so that we could understand the WHY behind their actions. Why does he kill? What makes him redeemable, at least to her? We need to be able to understand what has happed to him in the past, and what is going on in his brain and in his life so that we can fall in love with his character even though on the surface he is a killer and "bad". I don't think this should have been a novella, it should have been a full length novel, so that we could have some more in depth development and plot. A PWP chase in a haunt with nothing but sex as the plot would have been more appropriate for a novella.

was dark, haunting, and totally addictive. I swear I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t look away even when I wanted to. Emma Paige really knows how to write a story that gets under your skin—like, in the best creepy, twisty way.

Juliette Reyes is such a fascinating mess of a heroine. You can feel how cursed she thinks she is, how every step she takes just drags more chaos and death in her wake. The mystery of the murders and those masks?? I was absolutely glued trying to figure it out. And when that ghost from her past showed up? I literally gasped.

The tension, the atmosphere, the way the story balances danger and emotion—it all just works. It’s not a light read by any means, but that’s what makes it so freaking good. My only reason for docking a star is that a couple parts felt a little rushed near the end—I wanted more payoff after all that build up—but still, this book had me reeling.

If you're looking for something short, dark, and spicy (and I don't mean me... haha), I suggest looking no further.
This is the story of Juliette and Silas. Juliette doesn't know that someone is going around unaliving everyone who hurt her and her friend Delilah. At first, it's a litte terrifying for her, but then when puts the pieces together, she becomes intrigued.
Throw in some spice, some twists and turns and you have a great story.
Can't wait for Malcom and Deliah's story...

Definitely recommend!

A gripping dark romance novella! Juliette finds herself riddled with tragedy and subsequently linked to a serial killer. The story is an attention grabbing short read. Full of suspense and some gore as well as all the good spice! I did not see the twist in the end coming and it has me eagerly awaiting Malcolm and Delilah’s story. I liked that it was a short quick read but I wish I had more of Juliette and Silas’ story. Highly recommend for all the dark romance fans out there!

I actually really enjoyed this book! There was some awesome twists and turns that I definitely did not expect. There was personal growth and acceptance along with being able to feel to the emotion in the book!

I personally think there is room for the story to continue and I would LOVE to see it continue! 🫶🏻

The only thing I wish this book had more of was pages. I really enjoyed this short book but would love to see more relationship building/character building in the future. For what it was it was good though and I will definitely be following along for the journey of the next couple 😉

Loved this twisted novella. Things happen over dead bodies. And both are a little crazy. This made me leave the real world for just a little bit and I will be looking up anything else this author has written. Must read for Halloween. Check your triggers

Honestly, I almost DNF this book. The writing was so random. It jumped around and didn’t make sense at all. It was a novella so I expected it to go quick but it literally bounced around and had very little explanation. I normally don’t leave bad reviews but I just can’t recommend this one.

This book was an ARC book for me, and the very first book i have read from this author and it was amazing!
I really enjoyed this book, it was quick read and very spicy.

I loved the story line of this book and the chemistry between the FMC and the MMC, He will do anything and everything to protect her including killing for her, but it doesn't surprise her because she has the same darkness in her that matches his.

10/10 for this book!
