An electrifying WWII thriller debit-from a former special forces sniper. Strafed by American bombers, reeling from damage, and with supplies running low, a German U-boat limps along toward the coastal bayous of Louisiana-where the crew's only chance of survival rests in the hands of an isolated group of people who recognize no government and no war. There, in the heart of the enemy, Nazi gold can buy help. But gold can also buy betrayal...
Fantastic story of a German U-Boats unusual circumstances during the Second World War. Damaged in waters near the US, it enlists the aid of some unwilling and unlikely people to repair their sub and get it back into the water. Characters are big, on both sides of the conflict. Unique ending bringing it to a close.
(4.5 stars) A highly implausible, but very well carried off novel of WWII and uboats. The action is good, the characters are quite deep and there are a few twists and turns to keep the readers interest. I enjoyed this one.
Wow! A story that includes Nazis, A U-Boat, Cajun Swamp people, good friends, voodoo and a romance. Fantastic story that is well told. This book happened to catch my eye in a bookstore and I am glad it did. Enjoyed from start to finish. Everything was so well woven together. I highly recommend.
Another gem from an unknown-to-me author that I picked up simply because it had a swastika on the cover (I'm a sucker for novels that have to do with WWII).
This book is about a German U-boat that ends up in a Louisiana swamp where it hides out until it can get repaired. There are some interesting native characters who help out the "enemy" and a little voodoo thrown in for fun.
The last couple chapters are very exciting. I took this book to a business conference with me and actually skipped some of the sessions I was supposed to attend just to finish it.
