Here's our 'Hero' talking about his favorite romance author:
"...somethin’ about her writin’, her words, gives me hope that there’s that one special woman for me..."
Author then inserts whole paragraphs from the CHEESY as HELL romance novel he's reading - Deadly Love.
And as if my panties couldn't get any dryer, our young strapping hero imagines that the heroine in the book is the woman he just hired as a cook five minutes ago and he is the studly, big dick buck in the novel 'Mikael'
Ugh. Someone gag me with a dildo.
As for our heroine 'the cook', the first day on the job our delicate, soft skinned flower makes eggs and then goes to sleep until evening time. But our pussy whipped hero doesn't care, he just wants her to be comfortable.
Cheesy, naïve, simpleton main characters, corny writing and predictable plot.

I am giving this book 3 stars. It was a really good read, but it was the same as the first book, just with different names. I will be reading the next book, because I want to know what happens to Trevor, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be the same story AGAIN.

I'm now in floods of tears because I didn't want to finish reading so quickly and because of the beautiful ending.
I really didn't believe I could enjoy a book as much as Country Heaven but although Memphis still steals the title of book boyfriend. A Taste Of Country certainly moves into top spot for the storyline! I loved the twists along the way, I certainly wasn't expecting any of these twists to happen. I could never have even imagined these twists. However because you are the talented one you knew the story would only be better because of them!! The addition of Caprice was the perfect. She allowed the story to develop even more. I'm so pleased to have Sadie and Memphis in the story and to see how their lives are moving on since their book.Colby well I do love him, just not as much as Memphis. He is so kind and loyal, I loved him when he brought in Ditto for Shiloh!! I really didn't expect all the suspense but it really was a perfect combination of suspense and romance!
I don't know where you get your ideas from but I wish I could live in your head just for 1 day!

Vicki woman you scared the sh*t outta more times then I ever could have foreseen... The first book was already quite suspensful but this one tops it by a long shot!
Colby was the hero we met in book 1 and Shiloh is the girl he hired to help him around the house.
Colby is a very sweet and protective man and is immediately drawn to Shiloh like a moth to a flame... But he also knows she is hiding something and he can't quite put his finger on it.
That is until a few chapters down the line it all comes out and things start crashing down faster then you can blink your eyes.
I love the thight knit group of friends in these books and I love that they stick together nomather what. In this second book they'll need to do that and more to battle one heck of a devil!
A true love story... Passion, protection and a whole lotta love...
But is the game really ever over? ;) I guess only the future can tell... Stay tuned folks, I know I will!

This is book two in the Country Love series, we met Colby a little in book one, learning is is sweet can cook and know that he needs help working his farm. Trying to do everything is getting to be to much. Seeing how well it worked out or Memphis, Colby places an ad for someone to help cook and clean.
Shiloh has had a rough life, seeing the ad she thinks the country would be a good quiet place to go and hide. Running from her past, she is slow to trust people and not sure she wants to try to.
Colby see that something is up and wants to help Shiloh overcome what is eating at her. Hoping that being helpful and trusting will earn her trust, whole slowly introducing Sadie and Memphis so she can have other to lean on and have help.
Will Colby's farm be far enough to keep her safe or will her past find her? Can Shiloh learn to trust Colby and Sadie? Or will her fear keep her from getting close?

The story has laughs, pain, grief, kidnapping, suspense, secrets, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story.
If you have not read the below I recommend reading those first:

This is Colby and Shiloh’s story. Colby is taking care of his family’s ranch. He hired Shiloh to cook and clean on the ranch. Shiloh is running from her past. She is hoping she has run far enough that her past will not be able to find her. As Colby learns more about Shiloh he knows that she has secrets but are they secrets he should know in order to protect her? Once the secrets are all out will he look at her differently? Will he be able to protect her from the past that is about to explode into their little world? Or will he be too late to save her from the horrors of her past?
I highly recommend this story and this series.

Colby's story was one I wanted right after reading Country Heaven. Vicki Green has a way of pulling you into the story and feeling like you are right there with her characters.
Colby has taken over responsibility for his family farm and after working through the list of chores, realizes he needs some help. He's strong, determined and willing to die for the one woman he never thought would come into his life.
Shiloh has been through some serious $@#! Wanting to run away and start fresh, she responds to an ad asking for help on Colby's farm. Not sure what to expect he keeps her walls and personal life to herself.
Colby and Shiloh instantly find an attraction, but are they each willing to let go of their pasts and let one another in.....BOOM whiplash....Get yourself ready cause Vicki Green packs a punch and once again leaves you wanting more!!!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book picks up with Colby who places an ad looking for some help on his farm. Shiloh answers the ad and she has a past she is hiding from. Vicki did an amazing job with this story. To see the characters build up their friendships,build trust,meet friends, go through heartache,fight for each other and love. The plot is great and I really want to move to the country with them all. Vicki shows that trust doesn't come easy but also if you let people in that you can build a friendship and sometimes more. Sometimes it is better to tell someone then to keep them bottled up especially if you are facing danger. You never know who will be by yourside. Might be someone you least expect.

Colby starts to fall for her, but know she is running and hiding from something. He is on a mission to find out what that is so he can protect her. Shiloh does not want anyone to know why shes running in fear of peoples safety. She feels safe until the past catches up with her. Can Colby save her? Will they get their happy ever after. I guess you better read this amazing book to find out. This book has love, hope, emotions, suspense, heartache, and a cute puppy....congrats Vicki on another wonderful book. And look our Memphis, Colby might just give you a run for your money....

The characters, Colby and Shiloh are great.
I love these two.. I easily fall in love with them.

This was a sad love story that had cause to bloom and blossom with new friends and amazing heroes. Shiloh is an author writing her own true story about what is happening to her. It is horrific in every way and the excerpts from Shiloh's book finds you wishing that it isn't based on any truth. She struggles to free herself from a dominant maniac who is dead set on trying to kill her. Her desperate flee brings to her Colby and his serene ranch. It is just what she need and she finds the man of her dreams. Dreaming doesn't seem possible with the nightmares Shiloh must deal with and in the end, she is caught in multiple battles to keep her life, hold onto the love she has found, and save her new friends. Turns out...there is more to save than just the present.

To be fair I didn't get very far into this book. When Colby narrated his parts of the book he dropped his g's. I can accept this in a limited amount during the dialog but when all the description in the book is about someone walkin' and drivin' and singin' and dancin' it is enough to make me want to go around stabbin' folks. For the safety of my family and friends I was forced to abandon this book.
Also, I only got a few pages in and it is really clear where the storyline is heading. I don't mind predictably when reading romance, however, coupled with the truly horrible 'down home' style of writing I am at a loss how so many people found this book so amazing and inspiring.

I was given A Taste Of Country by Vicki Green for my honest opinion. If you loved Country Heaven you will love this one. Vicki Green did not disappoint. Once again I felt like I was apart of the make shift family of Mephis, Sadie, Mac, Dalas, Colby, Shiloh and Trevor. Vicki Green had me hooked from the first page I had trouble putting it down. I felt every emotion through out this read. I laughed, cried got pissed and cheered when the characters did. if you like romance mixed with action you will love this book. I can't wait for book 3For Love O Country.

I thought Memphis and Sadie's story was good Don't get me wrong it still is but Vicki Green did even better with book 2. Colby and Shiloh's story is a heartfelt drama pack love filled that will keep you on your toes from the first chapter. Make sure you have tissues because you will need them.

I struggled with finishing this book. The characters just weren't interesting. Colby apparently falls in love with every girl he meets. First Sadie and now Shiloh who he just hired to work by cleaning his house.
Seriously does this author not let any of the secondary good characters live? The bad guy was seriously able to get one by the professionals not once but twice. Sadly I wanted the revenge to go out with a huge bang and for me it went out like a poof with no answers to who else he has imprisoned and why he did it.
I just didn't get how Shiloh could go through what she had been through for 5 years and yet she was fine with moving in with a complete stranger and then fall in insta lust for him. Don't believe it and if it isn't believable you can't buy into it and enjoy for what it is.

This was great! Reading her books put this one at a new and different level. Loved the romance and thrill. Had me in wonder throughout the whole book. Fabulous.

A Taste of Country is book two of the Country Love series by Vicki Green. It is a really suspenseful book that is not intended for anyone under 18. The graphic sex scenes and the violence described make it totally inappropriate for anyone under 18. The book review on Amazon definitely states this. Perhaps it says this on the book; but I got the Kindle version so I don’t know. It is only through honest reviews that we get this information. Except for those scenes, the book is absolutely wonderful.
Colby Carter has led a comfortable life. He had loving parents who encouraged him to do his best. After leaving a free and somewhat wild life, he decided to settle down and his parents gave him a large farm and house in the country. He intended to bring the farm back up to its previous state. However, he soon found out he could not handle it himself. He talked to his neighbor, Memphis Johnson, and put ads on the Internet for help. Until he could hire someone, Memphis and his wife Sadie helped out when they could. In payment, Colby cooked gourmet meals for them.
Shiloh Willson answered the ad thinking the farm would be a great place to hide from her tormentor. Only her friends, Mandy and Trevor, knew about her past and only Trevor knew where she was. When she answered the ad, Colby was immediately taken with her. However, he soon found out that she was hiding something which could be important. He decided to get her to trust him to tell him herself. Shiloh’s friend Trevor MacKay answered the ad as well. He did this to be close enough to keep an eye out on her.

Goodness. Vicki takes us on an amazing ride with this book. I was sucked in. We met Colby in book 1, Country Heaven. Sweet and handsome, the whole package. He is back in town because he is taking over his parents property, he needs help taking care of it and places an ad for help.
In walks Shiloh. She's gorgeous and something about her calls to Colby. She is a bit jittery and he can't help but wonder why. He wants to get to know her better but she is pretty reserved. He hopes that he can be a friend to her, one she obviously needs.
Shiloh has a hard time trusting. She has a very bad past, one that puts her and those around her in danger. She is on the run and hiding. She just hopes her past doesn't catch up to her. She eventually starts to trust Sadie, and feels comfortable enough to reveal part of her past and who she really is. FYI, I loved this part of the book.
The action and suspense of this book is amazing. I loved reading it and I was plotting my own plan of attack on the villain of this story. The attraction between Colby and Shiloh is so strong. This book was even more dramatic then the first. I love Colby and Shiloh. Escaping abuse and surviving is extremely difficult and it was heartbreaking to hear everything Shiloh had to go through.
I really enjoyed this book as well from this author. They only drawback was that it felt too similar to the first one. The action and drama was the same at one point. Other than that it was a great story and I recommend it to read.

I absolutely loved this book! Vicki has put done herself again!
Colby is needing help around his farm not only on the farm but in the house too. All of the chores, cleaning the house and cooking is a bit much for just one person. He puts out an ad online in hopes of getting some help. When Shiloh responds he is happy to know the house will be taken care of. The first time he sees her his breath is taken away. I enjoyed this book. This is my third or fourth book by this author to date and each time she provides an entirely different and unique reading experience. This book was a sweet, sexy, suspenseful book that has many twists and turns. It grabbed me from the first page and held my attention until the end.
This is Colby and Shiloh's story. Shiloh is running from her past. She decides to take a job on a ranch where she basically cooks and cleans. What she doesn't expect is the attraction and chemistry she feels to Colby. Colby is not looking for one night stands (yes a non male whore!). When he meets his hired help, he can't help but feeling something towards her. As these two spend time together, Colby can sense she is holding back. When Shiloh's past catches up with her, will she be able to escape? Will these two get a chance to find their happy ending together?
I am going to stop there because I don't want to spoil this book. I liked Colby and Shiloh. Shiloh pulled at my heartstrings and I was rooting for her. There are many gasp moments and breathless times between these two with their sizzling chemistry. I was able to connect with both of these characters throughout the entire book.
I recommend this book!

This was a re-read for me since I was getting ready to read Love of Country by the fabulous Vicki Green. Even though I had read it when it came out in February, I wanted to revisit Shiloh and Colby again because I loved them so much the first time around. Their love story is full of so many different emotions - fear, stubbornness, reluctance, kindness and passion. I could go on and on, but you get the point. What Shiloh has experienced and endured in her young life is more than most people would survive. But survive she did with the help of 2 best friends - Mandi and Trevor and her own unwillingness to ever give up. In the last attempt to end her suffering, she finds herself on a Montana ranch helping cowboy Colby Carter. Their connection is pretty much instantaneous, but there are so many hurdles they have to get through....The love Colby feels for Shiloh is so beautiful and heart warming it makes you believe in finding that true soul mate!
I'm not a believer in giving spoilers in reviews, so you'll have to read this wonderful book to find out if Shiloh and Colby find their HEA but it's a roller coaster ride that you won't want to miss!

Shiloh Wilson is on the run from her abuser. She answers an add for a housekeeper on a farm run by Colby Carter. Colby grew up on the family farm and his parents decided he could have it because they wanted to travel. Now he has so much work he needs to hire some people. Colby is a single handsome rancher who isn't looking for a lasting relationship. Shiloh just wants to hide. Colby finds her so fascinating and he is drawn to her and he wants to protect her. He knows she is hiding something but she has a problem trusting people. She has run away so many times from her abuser and he always finds her and her punishment is worse each time. She is also a writer. Colby actually is reading her book but he doesn't know its her because she uses a pen name. He wonders if the woman is telling a true story and for some reason he feels it sounds like Shiloh. This is such a great story. It has love, tears, terror and suspense. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up late just to finish this one. You will love it. This book does contain sex scenes and some very explicit abuse so it may not be for everyone
