Amanda Rosewarne turns what could have been a rather dry topic into something genuinely inspiring. The Power of Continuing Professional Development doesn’t just explain CPD but instead reframes it as a catalyst for confidence, clarity, and long-term growth, whether you’re expanding your knowledge, climbing the career ladder, shaping a team, or strengthening a whole organisation.
Rosewarne blends evidence-based strategies with real-world guidance in a way that’s immediately usable. There’s no fluff, just accessible tools that nudge you to think bigger and take ownership of your own development. This is the kind of book that makes you want to immediately grab a notebook and start mapping out your next steps. What I loved most was the section about science and diet—I'm no stranger to food as energising fuel, but this was a real light bulb moment.
Verdict: An empowering, clear guide that takes CPD from a tick box exercise to a superpower. If you want to elevate your career, your business, or your contribution to society, this is a must-read.
I'm a CIPD certified L&D manager and never reviewed for a blogtour a book related to my job before. I've been hearing people talking about CPD (Continuing Professional Development) since I started working in high tech long ago but it's always or something strictly related to your field of activity or to a very personal way of defining your goals always via tool related to a methodology. What is often missing is the link between what is decided/requested an how to bring it into your life and activities. This is an holistic guide that analyze different aspects and how the same concept can be applied in different countries. I found it full of interesting hints and ideas, a good source of things to do to improve you and what you do. I strongly recommend it if you need some tools and ideas about your personal and professional development. Highly recommended. Many thanks for this digital copy, all opinions are mine
