Iyeon wanted a quiet life as an arborist—but hidden upstairs is a comatose killer who once tried to murder her. When he wakes with no memory, she panics… and lies: "I'm your wife." Can she survive the man who doesn’t remember her—or what he did?
Serial Killer...no far worse, the muscle for his brother who runs his family's criminal empire.
Let me explain, actually let me give you the PROLOGUE before I explain. I enjoy reading manwha and manga. I stumbled upon a video...too far back. Let me go forward. I actually discovered this gem on my Manta app. I actually read the comic or "webtoon" and immediately screamed internally when I discovered it was ongoing and I was going to have to wait every week to read an episode. I went down the rabbit hole and when I hit the bottom I felt myself enter nirvana because I discovered the NOVEL was finished.
Now I am not a fan of light novels because they can be overwhelming boring and too tedious but Flowers of Allure is a carbon copy of its source material with a little more insight. All 4 volumes of peaceful bliss awaits me and as a connoisseur of "slow burn" with a master's degree in mix signals...this ladies is the final boss. This man is a killer who tried to kill the main character and in doing so lost his memory and fell off a small cliff in the middle of strangling her for various reasons and actions that occurred I may add. To add insult to injury she was forced to care for her attacker because he fell into a coma. To protect herself upon him waking up in the middle of the night, she politely told him mid struggled that they were MARRIED to save her life.
Lord let me get up from the pulpit because I am going to faint! I don't know where and how people come up with these plot devices but the devices be devicing (not a word!) with said device...if that's even a thing...dear lord. I haven't been obsessed with a story since Manacled and I am still trying to escape the Dramonie vortex. Flowers of Allure by far has been my favorite read this year. I am slowly devouring it piece by piece. Let's just say my appetite will be ravenous after finishing the novels.
I decided to give this a shot after getting heavily invested in the Manwha adaptation and hearing that there will be a kdrama adaptation. I am very new to Korean web novels but this one absolutely had me hooked from the start. While I enjoy the romance genre in literature, I don’t particularly find myself typically drawn towards ‘dark romances’ however this one really got me. I’m excited to read the following volumes since I’m getting closer to being caught up to where the storyline currently is at in the manwha.
3.5-4 stars This one is a little conflicting for me, but I just could not put the story down! I love the main female character; her personality is great, and I love it when a character has a well-developed backstory that can explain her behaviors/ actions and such. It is really hard for me to find this translated so it may be awhile until I can continue it, but it also looks like it will get a little too smutty for my liking so I may not even read much more.
Reading the manhwa version of this novel. Might move the review if the series gets a printed edition.
Really nice expressive art style, cool angles.
Just a quick glance at the MC praying for a person to get sick, randomly getting a taste of soil for saltiness level.
Got really boring and illogical in several chapters. The presence of a good art didn’t cover the nonsense plot and character’s exaggerated behaviours. Did not read it to the end.
