Kyoko Mogami followed her true love Sho to Tokyo to support him while he made it big as an idol. But he's casting her out now that he's famous! Kyoko won't suffer in silence--she's going to get her sweet revenge by beating Sho in show biz!
Vie Ghoul is the new band burning up the charts by stealing Sho's moves, and Kyoko's hopping mad on his behalf. Kyoko's confrontation with Sho about his lack of action doesn't go as well as she hoped--Sho gets violent, and the front man for Vie Ghoul gets a good look at Kyoko's demons. And both men seem a little more interested in Kyoko than Ren would like...
Yoshiki Nakamura (仲村佳樹) is a Japanese mangaka. She was born June 17. Nakamura made her manga debut with "Yume de Auyori Suteki" in the manga magazine Hana to Yume in 1993.
In this one we got a bit of info as to what it was that Ren did a couple of volumes ago which helped the director to become less stressed and prone to mental breakdowns... he said that he was different from his father, which was apparently all the director needed to hear as he had heard nothing but that he was "just like" his father his entire life - which was not helping the inferiority complex he'd been suffering from.
The introduction of the Shou-imitation boyband is interesting, and I'm curious what kind of role they'll have (both in the immediate and in the long-run). Are they going to be villains for a while? Or just for a short arc? And why is it that one of them was able to not only SEE, but also CAPTURE one of Kyouko's demons? :o
And then for Shou to basically throw a fit because Kyouko was saying everything that he was thinking (but didn't want said aloud) and then INJURING her? HOW DARE YOU. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN THE SAME VICINITY AS HER. I'm impressed that he was able to get his head out of his ass long enough to not only buy some ointment for the cut (THAT HE GAVE HER), but also APOLOGISE. I mean, it seems that he's turning over a new leaf but at this stage I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. There has to be something else going on here :|
I was pretty excited for Kyouko to be going to a "celebrity resort" for the filming of the movie(s) that she's in with Ren... but to come across Shou suddenly? Again? He's suddenly in this a LOT more.
Pretty crappy of those copy-cat Beagles to be attempting to push Shou out of show biz by copying his every move and look... and now to hear that they appear to have copied something of his that wasn't even finished - thus showing that there appears to be a "traitor in the midst" of Shou's entourage? Not cool person. Even if Shou IS a dick.

Poor Kyoko! She was the one who was injured and stupid Sho had her thrown out!!! The guards didn't even believe her when she said she was a guest! Shoko-san I am also mad at you! You should have prevented the guards from taking Kyoko and explained that would have ease some of Kyoko's anger. -.-
Kyoko's newest enemy and potential boyfriend has arrived! For a relatively plain girl Kyoko has a lot of love interests. (Sho, Ren and now the guy from Vie Ghoul). I love how Kyoko hears Vie Ghoul as Beagle though. That's hilarious. I don't know if people how haven't studied Japanese will hear that but since I said it with a Japanese accent in my head it completely made sense to me.
It's really cute how fate keeps throwing Kyoko and Sho together and how they still care for each other even if they refuse to show it. This was one of the really good volumes.
Edit:
I love how Kyoko hates when people use 'like' to describe her feelings to Tsuruga! She is in strong denial.
Ren is smart. He knows that Kyoko will not fall back in love easily. Nice try Yashiro! Keep goading Ren! :P
Has anyone else noticed that Kyoko almost exclusively wears skirts and dresses? It's rare for her to war pants and shorts.
I really hate Vie Ghoul. -.-

At first my entire reaction to this volume was HOW DARE SHO HIT KYOKO???!!!
But… his apology shocked me. Of course that doesn’t mean I forgive him nor will I accept it as a justification for his actions. But… it was cute. And I felt bad for Sho.
I can’t believe those Beagles also stole his song! Those muts! But it’s nice seeing Sho all riled up for once. He always wants to appear picture perfect to everyone, but it’s clear those beagle idiots are getting to him. Anyway, it’s been a fun volume with Sho’s appearance, and especially with Ren getting shaken up! It keeps me on my toes… I truly love this series.
And Ren, oh my gosh. His reaction after he calls Kyoko, to seeing Sho’s promo clip. He was clearly in shock at Kyoko’s acting/goddess-like aura and Sho’s reaction. Ren does not plan to pursue Kyoko, but that doesn’t mean he wants to give her up to anyone. And least of all Sho!
It’s just getting so, so spicy. Sho’s appearances are always a delight to the plot line. I know he’s a despicable menace, but I can’t deny that he also brings fun and drama (which I LOVE) to this story.
I can’t wait for more drama in the next volume!!

2021: What is with that old review? Are we writing book synopses now?
2009: sho returns, and brought friends? vie ghoul enters the picture with an unusual twist, and takes a freakish liking to kyoko. but as ren's feelings grow for kyoko, will sho get in the way? or will reino light a new spark in kyoko that she won't be able to ignore?
Awwww, Ren does care! Although, this volume is also the start of the creepy stalker arc, by that other Vie Ghoul guy *shivers* I hate that guy.
Re-Read 1:
Ohhhhhh, Ren realizes that Sho might still be interested in Kyoko! This arc is good - really demonstrates how both Ren and Sho care for Kyoko... although she doesn't pick up on this at all, haha.
BEAGLE!!! Aaaaahahahaha!!!! I hope their arc is as good as I remember it. And where I remember liking Yashiro before, as if he was the voice of Ren x Kyoko shippers, but now he's getting on my nerves. He needs to chill with the 'someone else will snatch her up.' Meanwhile Kyoko seemingly showing favor to Sho because she doesn't want to lose to Beagle by association. What will happen next!?!
E nessuno sembra fare caso a queste somiglianze.

Today's post is on Skip Beat!, volume 14 by Yoshoki Nakamura. It is 200 pages long and is published by Shojo Beat. the cover has Kyoko as Little Red Riding Hood and a wolf on it. As it the fourteenth volume you need to have read the first thirteen to understand the story. There is no foul language, no sex or sexuality, and mild violence in this volume. There story is told from third person close of the characters. There Be Spoilers Ahead.
From the back of the book- Vie Ghoul is the new band burning up the charts by stealing Sho's moves, and Kyoko's hopping mad on his behalf. Kyoko's confrontation with Sho about his lack of action doesn't go will as she hoped - Sho get violent and the frontman for Vie Ghoul gets a good look at Kyoko's demons. And both men seem a little more interested in Kyoko than Ren would like...
Review- In this volume we see how Kyoko and Sho's relationship has changed, that she is not just nuts over him and he does not know what to do about it. Add in Ren's confusion and conflict about his feelings for Kyoko you have his part of the volume. Kyoko and Sho have a big fight about Sho's passive attitude about Vie Ghoul stealing his style and he blows up at her and hits her. Sho keeps surprising me with how much of a jerk he is. The volume is really about Sho deciding to be a pop star, I guess. I think that these Vie Ghoul's lead singer is going to be trouble for Kyoko in the future. But I am looking forward to seeing where she goes next.
I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
The beagles. OMG Beagles!!! That was seriously amusing. I really loved this volume. I loved how Kyoko was pissed off with Sho for letting the Beagles (yeah... I’m not going to call them by their real name) steal his number one spot on the charts. She wants to be the one to beat him, there is no meaning to it if by the time she beats him with her revenge, he would no longer be relevant or at least number one. Omg and the way Yashiro keeps pushing Ren towards Kyoko, but Ren on his end keeps being super chill, is so freaking hilarious (although his inner turmoil reveals otherwise). I always love the volumes that feature Sho a lot. I really find him as an interesting character, he sets a lot of things in to motion in the plot, and more so now that he has new enemies... Well, the “suddenly, a love story” arc is yet to finish, so I’m really looking forward to seeing more of it. Hopefully it will be as good as this volume was.
Sho may be an awful dick (he definitely is), but damn if he doesn't add SO much spice, and drama every single time he appears. I can't believe he actually physically hurt Kyoko though, like the audacity of him. I think I actually gasped when we saw the cut. Thankfully he does have SOME level of decency to not only apologize, but to also buy her ointment so it wouldn't scar. It's not much, but it's something.
The popup of a new rival (copycat) band, Vie Ghoul, for Sho is definitely intriguing, especially because one of the members can actually see Kyoko's little grudge demons. I can't wait to see what will happen between those two.
But best of all (for me at least), was Ren's acceptance of his feelings for Kyoko... even if it was only to himself. I ship the two of them SO MUCH! And his jealousy and worry about Sho and his potential feelings for Kyoko were absolutely golden, and delicious.
Oh so we’re hitting women now?? WE’RE HITTING W O M E N. THIS MF ABUSER! THIS IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF LOW. Unacceptable. Definitely giving early signs of abusive alcoholic. I can’t believe he laid his hands on precious Kyoko. And for the record, everything she said was true 🙄 someone’s mad. Even though Sho makes me rage, his character brings sm drama and entertainment to the series. I truly do enjoy his appearances and Ren’s jealousy was worth it!
Those Sho clones killed me. First of all, who would wanna copy Sho anyway let’s be real. Second of all, IDK HOW THEY’RE FOOLING ANYONE WHAT?? I DIED SM THE PLAGIARISM ITS SO OBVIOUS😭😭 but kinda wanna see how Sho overcomes this obstacle uhhh anyways Ren on top forever.

Someone once told me this was a good series so I bought six issues, volume 14 and volumes 20 to 24.
Obviously, starting at volume 14 is not the key to understanding all that is going on. The back cover tells me that Kyoko loves Sho and that her love is unrequited (although this volume seems to suggest that dynamic may be changing). There is at least one other player, Ren Tsuraga.
A comment about the art: the men are all legs (probably 2/3 of their height) and lots of wavy hair. The women are more normal but still long-legged.
And suddenly Sho is not the worst. Can that creepy stalker guy go away please. Kyoko and Momose should hang out more. Girl friends make Kyoko so happy and she needs more of them. Female friendship is the best.
nnnnnnnnngggggg.... I chewed through this one. I still Loath Sho, but am excited that he may be becoming a better person. So worried about Ren though... please let him not go stupid cave man on me :(
Kioko is a very good person. Even though she can be said to hate Sho, she tries to get him to react to the unfair competition of the Vie Ghoul, who copy his songs and look. Ren pretends not to be jealous or concerned about the apparent reconciliation between Kioko and Sho.
