Yoshiki Nakamura (仲村佳樹) is a Japanese mangaka. She was born June 17. Nakamura made her manga debut with "Yume de Auyori Suteki" in the manga magazine Hana to Yume in 1993.
In this book, it’s finally become clear that while Ren recognizes his feelings for Kyoko he knows that his love will not he fulfilled easily, exactly as he wanted. Ren can’t afford to love anyone who’s easy to grasp in the palm of his hand, and Kyoko isn’t someone he can easily acquire. That’s the only reason Ren though it was permissible to acknowledge his feelings for her.
Kyoko, on the other hand, is experiencing the beginning of love. It’s just as clear that Kyoko also begins her denial stage in this volume, refusing to acknowledge that her feelings for Ren are anything special because she’s been hurt by love before and she never wants to go through that pain again.
It’s bittersweet knowing they both love each other, but it will be some time indeed before they can accept it in full. It was enjoyable seeing Ren and Kyoko go through this stage of their relationship.

Not as gripping as the last two volumes, but I enjoyed it. I'm a little sad the Dark Moon arc is over... it was the most interesting one so far. Hopefully whatever comes next will be just as good!
Wrapping up the Ren can't love arc. Page count mostly devoted to him playing out what he "practiced" with Kyoko in the previous volume. Kyoko meanwhile in full delulu is the solulu mode at the end there. As an older reader I see this clearer now for the trauma response coping mechanism that it is.
I think this was the first chance we got to see Ren's range as an actor, for real. After going from constantly failing to portray the character of Katsuki to something so well thought out and performed? REALLY impressive. It was great how is go-star (Momose) went from being determined that she wouldn't react the way he wanted her to [during the improv session] to acting EXACTLY how he wanted her to, in pretty much every way.
Even the President changed his mind about Ren not being a good fit for the character of Katsuki ;D
And I think this may be the first time we've seen Ren's "co-star-killer" ability in action... he has another fangirl in the form of Momose now ;D

Now poor Momose is having to face Ren's King of the Night. At least with her he doesn't mean it and it's just acting. I feel sorry for poor Momose and Kyoko though. Both have experienced something that many woman would love but both of them don't want it! :P
At least Ren passed Lory's acting test and now Dark Moon can get back on track! I thought it was really cute though when Ren was playing the piano with Momose. I had never seen that expression on his face before. He is an amazing actor and a genius. I can't believe he learned how to play cat steps by looking at Momose's fingers. O.O
Ren you should never have let Lory see your feelings for Kyoko!!! Now he will mock you and push you towards Kyoko!!! He is after all basically cupid incarnate! :D
Edit:
Kyoko and Ren have met before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Ren's reaction when he realizes that Kyoko still thinks Corn is a fairy! 🤣
Ren kissed the stone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like Ren's confidence that he can influence Mimose and her stubborn refusal.
Ren is an otherworldly being for sure since he can memorize someone's finger movements and figure out how to play the piano! 🤯
Edit: February 2021
As someone who is now curious about acting I wonder how Ren forces Momose san to act that way? Like I can kind of tell but I'm not good at body language and it's not very obvious?
King of the Night appears! Even with the lower quality art that takes some getting used to after reading the later volumes Ren's sexiness still comes through!
I love Kyoko's lack of love brain processing. I realize in many ways she's still very young and innocent but really I can't see how she didn't see his love sooner!
The president's faces! lol.
Kyoko stepping back from Ren and is face! lol.

2021: Wow! My heart just goes out to Kyoko. As a girl who also made a "never again" promise to myself, her predicament just resonated. It is always interesting to re-read something that I can relate to now in a way that past me just couldn't.
Let's talk about Ren. Boy! Grab some maple syrup because he is one hotcake! The vulnerability, the sexiness. Ren all day everyday.
2009: while i enjoy kyoko and ren's interactions, i find this one slightly anti-climatic. it's okay because it's still well done and pretty interesting to see how kyoko's mind processes new developments. i wish her love switch would turn on, but honestly if i were in her shoes, i wouldn't connect the dots either.
Be still my beating heart!! Ren and Kyoko are too much, they've barely done anything romantic, yet I get such a warm, fluttery feeling from every little gaze. I just want to scream, it's so GOOD! Miss Nakamura is setting a fantastic pace for the characters, and story, it's rare to see.
In other news, I can't believe the "Dark Moon" arc is nearly over. It's been a ton of fun to not only see Kyoko have a proper acting gig, with dialogue, but to also see Ren struggle with a certain aspect of his career, and overcome it so beautifully. Honestly the synopsis of Tsukigomori sounds fascinating, and I kind of wish it were a real series haha, I'd totally watch it.
No vabbé, io sto amando tutto.

Today's post is on Skip Beat!, volume 13 by Yoshiki Nakamura. It is 2058 pages and is published by Shojo Beat. The cover has Kyoko in a bikini being cute. The intended reader is someone who has read the first twelve volumes, like comedy and shojo manga series. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The story is told from third person close of Kyoko with a little bit of Ren on the side. There Be Spoilers Ahead.
From the back of the book- Ren's acting test is about to begin, with his entire future hanging in the balance, and he's managed to make his leading lady Itsumi mad at him. Rather than confront him directly, Itsumi decides to hit him where it hurt. Will she sabotage his test, or will Ren be able to get it together and use his legendary acting ability to lead her through this scene?
Review- An excellent volume with lots of things going on. Ren does make the cut, Kyoko has a moment of freak out because she is afraid that she is falling for him, and President Lori discovers that Ren is in love with Kyoko. We get to see more into Ren's mind concerning Kyoko and his feelings. Most of the volume is Ren's test and the filming of the scene. We do get a scene with Kyoko and Ren at the end with Kyoko trying to give magic from her blue stone corn and telling him about how she saw him when they met as children. Not much character or plot development, just seeing how Ren is going to handle his feelings for Kyoko and Kyoko being herself.
I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
Finaly! Ren’s acting test!!! That was really good. I really enjoyed those chapters. I’m sad to see the Dark Moon arc come to an end, so far it has been so incredibly interesting. But then again I’m glad it’s over, I want to see Kyoko get more and more experienced and famous, I want to see her advance in show biz, so I’m really looking forward to the next arcs in the series!!! Also I really loved how after the acting test Kyoko offered Corn to Ren. Those scenes were so magical, with Ren getting amused by Kyoko’s naivety and childishness, and Kyoko’s adorable expressions. It was really funny. It’s also really funny how Kyoko keeps misreading Ren’s feelings towards her, and how she even denies and misreads her own emotions and feelings towards Ren. Kyoko is definitely my favorite character, I love her contradictory personality. She’s naive towards her own feelings and Ren’s feelings but she’s also really perceptive at times. She’s scary and intimidating, but she’s also really sweet and kind. Her complexity as a character is what makes her a great character. I also really love characters with tragic and sad backstories so of course I enjoy Kyoko’s character...
Omg. This might just be one of my favorite volumes in this series so far! And I’m only on vol 13 like wtf ah
I already loved ren But this volume made me love and appreciate his character exponentially more than I had originally His acting, I could feel it through the pages Not knowing what he’d do next, or what reaction he’d incite His acting test that happened this volume was my favorite scene thus far (one of them at least hahaha) I mean the way the mangaka made Ren play a role that IS ren tsugura, the man he keeps hidden away The man he tries so hard to bury
The way this scene was executed had me just as stunned as the characters watching Ren during his test At the edge of my seat, surprised, not knowing what he’d do next; yet loving every moment
And omg??? H battling his love for Kyoko??? Him realizing that he is in fact in love with her and all the turmoil that realization brought?? AH YES GIMME MORE LMAOO
All I can say now is that I can see why he’s a renowned actor (and so young too), he deserves all the praise I seriously can’t wait to see more from him and especially Kyoko

AHHHHH SO GOOD I loved seeing Ren finally prove himself! The Ren and Kyoko interactions were too good and Ren had me blushing in that end scene with corn. I also need his “king of the night” self used on me bc dayum. He making ppl fall in love with him left and right (including me) AND KYOKO IS SO CUTE I CANNOTTT NOT HER STILL BELIEVING IN FAERIES. I love her sm. Shoutout to Mr. Yashiro I love that man sm he cracks me up.
“WHEN REN’S LIKE THAT AND LOOKS STRAIGHT AT A GIRL,THE GIRL USUALLY LOSES IT…” YESSSS YESSSSSS YESSSSSSSS Omg OMG the amount of this I have screamed REN the man you were in this volume!!! He accepted that he is in love with her but still there are things about his past that we don’t know now, I’m so excited to read the next volume!
Do not be fooled by the cover!! This volume is pretty much fun, exciting, and heartwarming at the same time! Ren’s acting is superb. Legit I can’t predict what his next action is. Then we have Kyouko reaffirming that she is not in love. Well, Ren will have a very hard time convincing her. If he decides to pursue Kyouko. Overall my favorite volume of the series so far!

Very funny, the CEO's reaction when he finds out who is the object of Ren's heart. I read it in one breath. I appreciated the moments of pathos alternating with comic ones. I'm curious about Ren's past. Will Kioko open the door of her heart to love?
