Oh, how I enjoyed this read. 😍 Olive was running her business and taking care of her son with ease; but it gets lonely. One day after summer camp for JoJo she sees a handsome man picking up his daughters. Well, this could be interesting.

Lando loved being on the water and running his yacht/ferry business. However, he was still trying to get the hang of his timing to get the girls from camp and still take care of things. When he notices a beautiful woman looking after his girls when he is running late, he immediately starts to plan for the what if.

The way Olive and Lando were able to blend their families together so seamlessly was beautiful. His girls needed the love and nurturing of a woman, and JoJo needed the presence of a man more consistently in his life.

Now, that blow up! I was pissed at Lando for the ultimatum but understood where he was coming from. But sir, what did you expect her to do at that moment in time? 😤 Olive, I get that this is your business, your baby, but did you really look at it from his point of view? How your actions made him feel? 🙄 I have to admit Lando was stubborn, and I wasn’t sure if they could work this out. But I’m glad it all came together.

I liked this book there was something missing. There was some character development but I read this book with a ton of questions. The relationship escalated and it was like bam I don't like your career now quit your job. Like sir...she don't know you. 2 weeks later he kids are calling them mommy and daddy and everybody is twirling about it. I think I understood the angle but there was just no foundation.

good story!

I loved that both MCs were single parents and they came together through their children. In most stories, one or the other is the parent. I also loved the healthy co-parent relationship as well. I loved that we got to experience their professions as well. Kids are such a delight to the story. I was really enjoying this story until he gave her an ultimatum. I didn’t like that. At all! And nobody having her back? Nope. Ruined the story for me. But it was good lesson in compromise for the both of them.

I would not assume Liv was a nickname for Olive, so the author jumped the gun a little bit with that on Highland’s POV.

This was a really cute single mom/single dad/blended family and instalove love story. I really loved how the kids took to each other and the MCs. Plus the internal dialogue of both MCs was absolutely hilarious, and bonus they both were absolutely filthy lol. I don’t really care for 3rd act breakups in books BUT the reason behind this one was realistic and made sense. I was able to see the viewpoint of both characters. And I loved that they navigated the break up and reconciliation in a mature way. I also love that there’s a very positive coparenting relationship that’s present. I also appreciated that the MMC didn’t struggle with love after loss. A lot of times in books there’s always an internal battle about loving another person, but Highland didn’t have that. And I think it helped to keep the story light in some respects.

I did really enjoy the book and love the fact that Captain was a mans man and stood on business of planning and commanding but how are you going to expect Liv to choose someone that she barely knows over her and her son’s means of survival. I didn’t like Liv’s career choice either because it downplayed her degrees in my opinion. I like that even when Captain and Liv temporarily split up they still co-parented very well with the children and the children didn’t feel the break up. I didn’t understand why Captain referenced Kelvin by his first name rather than Pop because it was very disrespectful when he was a huge help to Captain with the girls and later JoJo plus he gave the best advice to get Captain to water his bean rather than destroying it in it’s early stages. JoJo protectiveness over the girls was so sweet and endearing. I would have liked a scene of Liv and CeCe participating in the activity that the little camp girl was talking about to make that scene really memorable and add on to JoJo stating that he was sharing his mommy with CeCe and Neela. We didn’t get enough backstory on Liv and her mom explaining the dynamics of their relationship. This book was like a strong 3.5 star in my opinion. The issue that I had was scenes switching abruptly to another scene completely different like for example one minute Liv might be with the kids at the playground and then the next line she would be pulling up at work the next day. It was instances like that throughout the whole book that took away from the book some in my opinion.

This one touched me in the softest way 🥹 Olive and Lando made their own little special family and it was just beautiful to see. I didn’t realize how much joy blended families and kids finding love from adults who aren’t biologically theirs would bring me, but it got me right in the heart.

Lando’s story hit even harder because it’s about finding love after loss. Watching him open up again and choose happiness felt like such a healing moment. And the way this story handled emotional growth and connection made it feel like a quiet reset for me as a reader.

Plus, it gave me a little insight into a different kind of therapy I hadn’t thought much about before, and I loved that.

Just a sweet, thoughtful story that reminded me love can be built in so many ways. 4.5⭐ because my heart feels full.

Oh I love this book so much. I love Highland, Liv, the kids, Tunk, Mr. Kelvin, Brydie, Troy, Darius, and Jasiel.

And what an awesome co-parenting situation Jasiel and Liv had. Jo-Jo wasn't missing out on anything. His dad was active even though he was deployed. He made sure Jo-Jo knew he was loved and cared for. Just awesome.

Lando and the girls relationship was everything as well. He combed hair, cooked, and made sure his girls were straight. Coming together as a unit and family was exactly what needed to happen. Even with the speed bump about Liv's job, they were finally able to come up with a solution.

I enjoyed this book. It's ten stars for me.

Highland and Olive, Water Your Bean

This was such a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed the development of the characters!!!..
I love how they were able to blend the families and none of the children felt left out!!!…
I also respected the fact that neither man felt as any boundaries were crossed where Jo Jo was concerned!!!..
The relationship Olive was able to build with Highland daughters was so beautiful!!!…
Kelvin was such a breath of fresh air and I love that he was able to get Highland to see the plight of Olive, without sounding as if he was defending her decision to not be quick to leave her career!!!…

This was such a feel good novel. It had me smiling and swooning from beginning to end. I loved the characters in this book from the kids to the adults. The bond of the kids that lead to the parents connecting was so cute. I loved the chemistry and connection between Olive and Highland. Their romance was easy and effortless and just flowed naturally. They hit a snag and were able to work it out especially after getting advice from those that could help them see the others point of view.

If you’re looking for a feel good novel, this on will not disappoint.

Excellent read!

This is my first read by Ms. Morgan and I have to say, I’m headed straight to her catalog after this review. I loved how Highland took charge and did all he could to see to her comfort and every whelm. I did like Olive and I understood her independence and her single motherhood. Now Jasiel! I couldn’t understand how he was moving because there’s no way he couldn’t have done more. I loved the Captain down for his love and dedication to Jo-Jo. Same goes for Olive and her minis!

It’s nice reading a book where both characters work regularly jobs and are not in the streets.
Also love the blended family tropes😔❤️literally my favourite thing about this book

The breakup? Gosh I was so annoyed and mad at Highland, expecting someone to just quit their career because you’re suddenly not comfortable?????🫩🙄🙄I know seeing someone in action can change ones mind but expecting them to choose on the SPOT!!!!is mad business when he could’ve talked like an adult

I don’t know whether to be mad with the SAHM or not😩😔but I’m glad Liv is still benefiting from her practice/career

Blended Family!!!!!!

This was my first read from Morgan and what a beautiful story it was. Captain and Olive were soul mates. A widower and a single mother bond over play dates with their children. Who by the way are resilient, Cece knew exactly what she was doing lol. Despite the one hiccup they loved each other their children so hard. This was such a feel good story. I mean run your feet together, cheeks are hurting from smiling so much. You got all the feels with this one. The author did an amazing job bringing these families together.

.

It was weird as fuck for Tunk and Highland to be calling their dad by his first name but they rest of them was dad, uncle, and mom. Also I don't like how Highland bulldozed Olive even though I understood where he was coming from. Olive is pregnant and drinking damn near everyday.🤔 And the kids were to damn grown for their own good. Cece talking like she 17 instead of 7. They were too damn noisy.

Such a feel good story. Love after grief, blending families, compromising and summer time all mixed in one.

Olive and Highland story came with all the cute summer scenes, cute kids, and beach fun. This gave summer vibes and new love.

I loved how the kids were main characters and helped in bonding their parents. The spicy scenes were there and Highland had no problem with showing who was boss.

My first read by Morgan and I would be searching that catalog .

warmth!

This story was such a warm hug. I enjoyed this ride and the chance both Olive & Highland took with each other. Their kids were the icing on the cake. The bond they had with each other was authentic and genuine. Highland was what Olive and her son needed and Olive was what Highland and his girls needed.

Olive and Highland

Olive and Highland — hmm, their love story is definitely one for the books. Highland knew exactly what he wanted, and it was Olive. I’m still torn about him giving her that ultimatum — him or her job. It felt so unfair. But I’m glad they worked things out in the end. I was rooting for them the whole way through. 💕

The kids did it for me with this book. Their personalities and attitudes reminded me of my grands; sassy, inquisitive & intelligent. They kept me laughing.

The story

I didn't realize I needed this read until I started reading it. You know a book is good when you go back to reread just to make it feel like it's longer. Finished this is less than a day. I looked down and was at 87% 😩😩😩😩
