Rate this book
Harper Grace Reeves is an influencer disaster.

After her perfect, fake-boyfriend ex orchestrates a viral betrayal, Harper’s career is DOA. Her only salvation? A derelict Texas motel she inherited from her eccentric aunt. Her renovate it, turn it into #ContentGold, and save her life.

Her first and only marketable amenity is a stunning natural spring. Too bad it’s ground zero for a decades-old family feud.

Enter Jax the devastatingly attractive, stoic rancher next door. He’s all worn denim, legal threats, and enough "grumpy cowboy" energy to freeze the Texas sun. And he's determined to protect his family's land and their tragic history—starting with sending a cease and desist letter to the "city girl" who wants to turn his sanctuary into an "aesthetic."

The Feud is It's influencer versus cowboy, pink stilettos versus pearl-snap shirts. The small town of Moonsprings, obsessed with the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, starts placing bets on who will surrender first.

But when their fake feud accidentally goes viral on national TV, and a disastrous night of drinking ends with a barn-breaking, seven-years-in-the-making kiss, the lines blur. Soon, the only thing hotter than their escalating public rivalry is their secret late-night rendezvous.

Now, Harper has a save her career by selling out to the TV network that wants her to publicly reject Jax... or risk everything for the only man who ever saw the real, unfiltered woman behind the camera.

«Welcome to Moonsprings: Where the only thing spreading faster than gossip is my professional demise.»

«"Harper looks like she needs carbs and therapy, but carbs are faster."»

«He'll go back to being the enemy, I'll go back to being the disaster who's ruining his life, and we'll pretend this never happened.»

«"Being different isn't a defect, baby girl. It's a feature. Anyone who says otherwise is just jealous of our sparkle."»

«"I see you. The man who brings his niece to see fairy springs. Who dances like Fred Astaire but pretends to hate fun. Who looked so free that morning in the water that it made my chest ache with wanting something I couldn't name." We're so close now I can feel his.»

«"But some battles aren't worth winning if you lose yourself in the process."»

«"Love doesn't win. Love transforms. It takes broken things and makes them whole. Takes feuds and makes them funny stories for grandkids. Takes a disaster of an influencer and a grumpy cowboy and makes them..."
"Home," Jax finishes simply.»

Looking for an enemies to lovers cowboy romance that will have you cackling? This one is for you. This is my first book from this author and I’m a fan for life!

I love a good cowboy romance that will make you swoon and mix that with humor and real life problems and you get Cowboy Moon. Mix in a city girl who is a viral content creator who inherited a run down motel far away from the city and in a different state with a small town atmosphere, with a family dispute that has been spanning centuries, can these two finally bit an end to a property dispute and be able to survive in this small town together? You need to read this to find out!! So good!

Oh my goodness 😱 this was so good!

Harper Grace Reeves is a top influencer with millions of followers. She loves her aunt Celia, Blue Moon Motel & her aunt's cinnamon rolls.

Then she sees Jackson Walker.

Things don't go to plan after this, her cat is having kittens & the town wants nothing to do with Harper.

Harper reeves and Jax walker. Kinda like a cowboy hallmark story.

Things I want to remember…

Harper reeves. I'd just played accidental peeping Tom to the hottest man in Texas. A man who was definitely one of "those Walker boys" that Aunt Celia had warned me about making it sound like the plot of every Hallmark movie ever made but with full frontal nudity. "Think of me as… professional oversharer meets accidental celebrity," I say, gesturing with a tiny pretzel packet like it’s a PowerPoint pointer. "I get paid to make my life look prettier than it actually is. It’s called influencing."Dylan "Officially, we’re relationship goals. Unofficially, we’re glorified roommates who pretend to kiss for the algorithm.""I inherited this adorable little motel outside of Moonsprings," I whisper. "I'm going to renovate it and turn it into content gold." Martha's entire face transforms. She sits up straighter, clutches my wrist with surprising strength. "Wait. Do you mean the Blue Moon Motel?"celia Carter "When did she pass?" "Six weeks ago." The words still feel wrong in my mouth, like trying to speak a language I never learned. "Heart attack in her sleep. At least it was peaceful. She left me the motel in her will with a note that just said 'Your turn to stir up trouble.'"Martha squeezes my wrist with surprising strength. "Listen to me, Harper Grace." How does she know my middle name? "Whatever that nonsense is on your phone? It doesn't matter. You're going to march off this plane, renovate that motel, and find yourself a cowboy with an ass you can bounce quarters off. Understood?" Jax walker. "I know there's a bit of a misunderstanding about this pool thingy," I say, pushing a tiny cake onto his plate. "It's really important that we clear this up." He looks at the delicate pastry like it might bite him. "So what's your offer?""The locals here are so... authentic! Very protective of their community!" (Translation: They hate me.) "And this charming bakery has the most amazing vintage exterior!" (They wouldn't sell me a biscuit.) "Harper, sweetie – This was my engagement ring from Roy. Keep it somewhere safe. Last resort insurance if things get desperate. P.S. Don't you dare pawn it unless you're about to lose the motel. Some things are worth more than money."Aunt Celia's notes in the margins make me laugh-sob: "Harper—when you inevitably read this (because I know how you snoop), remember: people come for the food but stay for the welcome. Feed them well, love them better."A smile tugs at the corner of his mouth—just a hint, like he's trying not to let it happen. "You know anything about ponies, Tea Cakes?" TEA CAKES?! Emma jumps up and down, then turns enormous brown eyes on me. "Are you coming too, pretty lady?" Pretty lady? This child is using psychological warfare. I glance at Jax, who's watching me with something like challenge in his eyes. "Do you know how to ride, Tea Cakes?" he asks, and there's just enough doubt in his voice to activate my competitive streak. "Better than you think, cowboy," I reply, immediately questioning my choice of words. I haven't been on a horse since summer camp, and I'm pretty sure they can smell fear. "We'll see about that." Jax grins—actually grins—and it hits me like a physical force. "Let's go introduce you to something bigger than a pony.""She was married to my great-uncle Roy.""He died in a car wreck," Jax continues, his voice carrying something heavy. "My grandfather and Aunt Celia fought over this." He gestures to the springs. "I guess we will continue that feud in their honor.""She was a Walker," I repeat stupidly, trying to reconcile this information with the woman who warned me away from them. "She married into your family and then—" "Then Roy died, and everything went to hell," Jax finishes. "The feud started the day of his funeral. My grandfather said things. Celia said worse. And here we are, fifty-something years later, still fighting over water and ghosts.""Nine PM, Harper. Be ready or I'm dragging you out in whatever you're wearing, and that robe has seen better decades." She pauses at the doorway. "And just so we're clear, I'll be filming whatever disasters happen tonight—authentically. No staging, no scripts. Just pure, unfiltered Harper chaos.""Just follow my lead," he murmurs, and his breath ghosts across my ear. And then we're moving, and holy shit, this cowboy can dance. With all the liquid courage and terrible judgment in my system, I yell over the DJ but the music has stopped: "I saw you naked!""That day at the springs—you knew I was there?" He smiles against my skin. "Hard to miss someone hiding in the bushes, darlin'. Especially when they're wearing a yellow dress that glows like a traffic sign." "And you just... let me watch you?" "I figured we were even. I'd been watching you all summer at the motel. Asking Celia about you. Wondering who the California girl was with the sunshine laugh."The barn smells like rain and hay and sex, which should probably be weird but is actually kind of perfect. "They're onto us," I murmured. "Been onto us since that first dance at Whiskey River," he confirmed. "They're just enjoying the show." "So why are we still pretending?" He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, a touch so tender it made my chest ache. "Because you're not ready to let go of the story yet. And because—" his voice dropped to a whisper, "—sneaking around with you is the most fun I've had in years.""He's not breathing." The words hang in the air like a death sentence while I stare at the tiny, motionless kitten in Jax's cupped hands. Four healthy babies are already nursing at Willie's belly, but this one—the runt—lies perfectly still, its white fur tinged with blue beneath the membrane Jax is desperately trying to clear. "And you could turn this whole area into a spa retreat," Dylan says, gesturing at the motel's cracked pool with the flourish of someone who's never actually renovated anything. "Imagine: 'From Rust to Luxury—The Blue Moon Revival.' I'm seeing drone shots, time-lapses of us working side by side...""The best way to end this feud," he says, loud enough for everyone to hear, "is to stop repeating history and start making our own." Then Jackson Walker, the stubborn rancher who barely tolerates people on a good day, drops to one knee in the middle of Belle's Biscuits on national television.

This story feels like falling in love slowly, gently, and then all at once. It’s enemies-to-lovers at its finest, a slow burn that lingers and builds, forced proximity that earns every glance, every pause, every almost-touch. Sunshine meets broody in the most tender way, wrapped in small-town warmth and that unmistakable city-girl-meets-cowboy magic.

Harper and Jax don’t just have chemistry, they have that quiet, magnetic pull that makes your heart lean in closer. The kind of connection that grows in stolen looks, soft banter, and moments where words aren’t even needed. Harper’s light feels genuine and healing, while Jax’s brooding carries a softness underneath that just begs to be seen. Watching them slowly open up to each other is deeply satisfying and incredibly romantic.

The setting itself feels alive. You can almost feel the warm air, hear the water bubbling nearby, and sense the comfort of a place that holds both memories and second chances. The humor is natural, the banter sharp yet affectionate, and the side characters add so much heart that the world feels full and real. Solange and Ty draw you in effortlessly, but Aunt Celia? She is the soul of this story. Her presence lingers like wisdom passed down through love.

At its core, this book is about grief, healing, found family, and the courage it takes to let go of the past in order to choose happiness. It’s about allowing yourself to be seen, to be loved, and to grow into who you’re meant to be. Cozy, emotional, and quietly powerful, this story wraps around your heart and doesn’t let go.

A beautiful, comforting, and deeply romantic read that I will be thinking about for a long time. Five stars, without hesitation.

The Vibe: enemies-to-lovers excellence, a deliciously slow burn, forced proximity that actually pays off, sunshine-meets-broody energy, city-girl–meets-country-boy charm, cowboy romance perfection, small-town coziness, banter so sharp it could cut rope, and spice that stays mild (unless it’s cinnamon 😉).

From page one, Harper and Jax have that magnetic, can’t-look-away chemistry, the kind where you find yourself smiling at your Kindle like an absolute fool. The author paints every scene with such clarity that you swear you can feel the dusty motel air or hear the bubbling springs. Every chapter unfolds with this effortless blend of humor, heart, and tension that keeps you fully perched on the edge of your seat.

And listen… the banter? The humor? Elite. Harper is a chaotic sunshine queen, Jax is the broody cowboy who deserves a forehead kiss and a nap, and Solange and her not-boyfriend Ty? I’m invested, I’m attached, I’m mentally packing my bags to move in with them. But even with such iconic main characters, Aunt Celia steals the entire show. She’s spoken about on the page and suddenly you’re like, “Yes. This. This woman is the moment.”

At its core, this story is a gorgeous blend of grief, old feuds, reclaimed joy, found family, real family, and the terrifyingly beautiful act of letting go so you can finally grow into yourself. It’s heartfelt, cozy, vibrant, and impossible to put down.

All I can say is: I loved this book and honestly think you will too. Give it a try so you can come scream about it with the rest of us.

Okay, I didn’t expect this book to literally have me giggling and laughing out loud at some of the things in here. Not a big fan of instant love, but instant attraction and a handful of sexual tension? Yeah, I’m all for that lol.

This was an easy to read, fast paced book that I really liked, with characters I loved and could relate to. It was an overall lighthearted read, but think I actually went through all the emotions while I was reading chapter after chapter. There were times where I was genuinely on edge and needed my girl to lock in, hence why I couldn’t put the book down after the first ten chapters.

I loved the whole point of the book, expressing how living in the moment can bring real happiness. Social media is not everything, and what is seen online authentic, and it was nice to see Harper’s growth from start to finish. But, I relate to Harper so much. Because if a handsome cowboy with a muscular body and prominent forearms was my neighbor? I don’t know what I’d do with myself either lol.

I absolutely loved watching Harper and Jax’s relationship grow, and was literally kicking my feet every time they talked. The tension, the backstories of both Harper and Jax, and the cat, literally stole my heart.

“You want me to call up God and order some rain?” - One of my favorite quotes that genuinely pulled a laugh from me. (Trust, the situation and everything else behind it made it funnier).

* grumpy x sunshine
* Enemies to lovers
* Influencer x cowboy
* Small town

Harper and Jax are two hard-working working, witty bantering, opposites attract and overall entertaining people.
This book follows Harper’s journey on restoring her dead Aunt’s motel, which is falling down and comes with a 50+ year feud with the neighbours. Insert Jax, said neighbour who’s carrying in the feud.
Will Harper and Jax be able to overcome everything or will it all go down flames.
This book was so enjoyable to read, the witty banter, the town and all of its oddball characters. I think Hazel did an absolute great job of world building as well, mixing enough banter and spiciness and tender moments all throughout the book.

Thank you to Book Sirens and Hazel for the chance to read this ARC

Enemies-to-Lovers 👫

City Girl 💃/ Country Boy🤠

Small Town Romance 🏘️

Hidden Past / Inherited Conflict 🔮

High Steam & Banter 😼 😽

Spicy Level: 3 chillis 🌶️

These are the tropes you know beforehand - so you enter into this book with some knowledge of what to except. But even though you'll know that you will have a happy end it was highly enjoyable!

The characters were super entertaining and fun. Harper is probably the only influencer I would follow and Jax, yeah I think we all have a crush on him.

I think here in this story Hazel could have upped the spiciness level because it would have made a lot of sense. ( Sometimes authors throw in some spiciness but it doesn't fit into the story at all ). Here I wouldn't have minded at all.

Cute, modern story. The FMC is an influencer who inherits a motel when her aunt passes. The MMC is a hot Texas cowboy whose family holds a legendary grudge against the FMCs aunt. Easy read & lots of description. I just felt lost at times & it seemed that important plot lines moved quickly or skipped key elements. Overall an enjoyable story!

A city girl, completely addicted to her phone and the internet meets a rough and ready, doesn’t know what a hashtag is grump of a cowboy. Thoroughly predictable…and exactly why I enjoyed it. It ticks all the trope boxes and scratches every delightful trope itch.

This was A RIDE and I loved every minute of it. Harper is a chaotic influencer who's life is falling apart, and when her path crosses with Jax, the brooding no nonsense cowboy, magical things happen.

There were laughs, there were TEARS, and there were cinnamon rolls aplenty.

I honestly wish I could read this book again for the first time (and again, and again, and again) because everything just fell into place so perfectly as the story progressed.

Also, shout out to #bestie Solange, because Harper would be lost without her and as a FMC book BFF, she is one of my favorites of all time. I seriously hope we get a book about her (please please please).

Aunt Celia rocks. She was definitely my favorite character in the entire book. I loved her outlook on life, and I happily ate up her tidbits of wisdom. ❤️

I laughed while I read, I enjoyed my time with these characters, and although it was a fun time, it was also heartfelt and sweet.

Thank you to the author Hazel K Ford for the provided eARC in exchange for an honest review! 💌 ꒷·˚ ༘

4.75 ⭐️

This book was literally perfect and I had a great time giddily kicking my feet and screaming at my ebook reader, thank you very much. 🤭 (And yes, usually I’m the quiet kind of reader. Yes, I stayed up late just to read about them.)

Saddle up, because this is going to be one hell of a ride!

Harper, you absolut gorgeous human being and probably the only influencer I’d follow and support wholeheartedly. She really had a redemption arc that was chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 and I want to emphasize that she really struggled and that was portrayed very realistically (and dang well, might I add). I also loved her connection to Celia and all the little bits of long gone times we got to witness. Matchmaking goddess. The way I gasped at the end when the missing pieces finally slid into place??? And the way she started living once she decided perfect isn’t an option anymore? She just threw herself into the chaos and embraced it. Go Harper! 🫶🏼

And then there’s Jackson (Jax), our broody cowboy who hates the internet with a passion. Him calling her tea cakes is one of my favorite memories (of many, I have to admit). And the way they both met at the Moonsprings Pool? So funny when you get to the logistics of it. 🤣 I loved how he always came for her and noticed every little detail about her, for example her nervous tick. Even when he’s mad at Harper - she calls and he comes running, ready to fix whatever needs fixing. The way he is with little kids and animals? Have mercy.

Solange (I have to laugh every time I read that name, because in Germany it’s an actual word and that was kind of off putting at first, but here we are 🤣) was such a little menace and I loved her very dearly. Like a tornado of relentlessness and never ending sass. Best friend coded from the beginning.

I loved the book and had such a fun time reading it, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on new books from this author from here on out! 👀

I loved this storyline, the romance, the self discovery, anti tradition but yet traditional family stories. The heartache the endearment of a city girl and cowboy but it’s more then that it’s two paths meant to cross with help from there families past. Harper and Dex are so easy to love and route for! Aunt Celia is everything a girl growing up could need and look to for life advice from an aunt. This story was well written and it was so easy to get lost in. Each chapter was something that you wanted to read and not just skim. If you’re looking for fun, romance, heartfelt, banter, sexy, this is a definite read. I wish there was more of Martha in the story towards the end and not just the beginning tho she was a hoot. I appreciate how this story also teaches/ reminds us to put down our phones and live in the present world not in the social media bubble. We should appreciate our real everyday lives and not how life is perceived on social media. That was heartfelt and clear and I got the message. I want to thank the author for that reminder every now and then we need those.

This is such an entertaining read from cover to cover. Filled with humor, spice, banter, and two opposite people who are brought together by an old family feud.

Harper is a city girl trying to find her footing in live, she is the small town to claim her inheritance, and hopefully help her start her dream life. She did not count on Jax, her neighbor cowboy , a brooding/boring/grumpy man who wants to remind her about the feud over the lake that has kept their families apart.

Well, be ready for cultures clashing, her city/hashtag lifestyle against the quiet and resilient cowboy. The sunshiny girl, against the grumpy man clash will feed their antics and deepen their attraction.

The spice is just perfect for these two mismatched couple, it is intense , consuming and slowly transforming them both,

The fast paced plot, the relatable characters, the small town /found family dynamics, the insights, and all the moments make this a winner of a book !.

What do you get when you take a chaotic influencer whose life is a disaster, a broody cowboy, an aunt who played matchmaker from the grave and LOTS of cinnamon? An amazing slow burning enemies to lovers book that you won't be able to put down!

The chemistry, the banter and the friendships will keep you wanting more! This is not your typical love story it also focuses on building friendships and self discovery. It reminds you to put your phone away and enjoy the moments. Some things are meant to only be shared with you.
