From the moment our paths crossed, Wrath has always been with me.
Until he's not.
The Barbarians come for the Southern Isles by land and sea, and once the battle commences, I quickly learn that the command of the dead has been stripped from me. All I have left is the strength of a god, but that's more powerful than armor made of dragon scales. I know that Wrath still lives if I have this ability, and it feels like a message beyond the Underworld.

Once again Penelope hit us with an emotionally wrecking book. This one will hit you in the feels, and have you on the edge of your seat. I found the battle scenes thrilling and anxiety inducing, in a good way though. 😅 The race against time and all that...Exactly the kind of emotional rollercoaster you want your books to take you on. The cliffhanger was brutal, as always. I need the next book asap.
I’ve been reading Penelope Barsetti (aka Penelope Sky) for years, and somehow she still finds a way to destroy me, rebuild me, and leave me breathless every single time. Kiss of Death is book seven in the Death series, and it is by far one of the most emotional, devastating, and powerful installments yet. This book picks up right after that brutal cliffhanger with Wrath stripped of his title as God of the Underworld, torn away from Lily, and forced into a fate worse than death. From page one, my heart was already in a vise. Lily has no idea what’s happened to him, her gift is gone, war is looming, and the stakes have never been higher. The tension? Insane. The emotions? Everywhere. Me? Crying constantly. Penelope gives us a massive war scene that had my heart pounding 😭 dragons falling from the sky, a ruthless barbarian-vampire army, golden weapons that can wound and kill even dragons… It’s chaos, it’s destruction, it’s heartbreak. And right when everything seems lost, unlikely alliances arrive 👏 Viper and his army (who respectfully… sir… please calm down) The drama, the jealousy, the tension….
What truly makes this book unforgettable is the love story. Lily and Callum’s (wrath ) bond is on another level 🥹 selfless, timeless, and unbelievably deep. Lily’s heartbreak, her desperation, her determination to save him when NO ONE else would… I was sobbing. Legit sobbing. This woman traded HER SOUL because she knew no one would come for him, but everyone would come for her. The sacrifice. The devotion. ♥️ I felt it in my bones. Then there’s Callum’s suffering 😩 the time apart from Lily, the torment of his new job in the underworld😭 and the fact throughout all of this, he still only thought of her happiness and victory. When the “trade” finally happened… I had to put the book down. Penelope did NOT hold back with the heartbreak in this one. Those chapters destroyed me. The family’s grief over Lily broke me, but I understood why she did it. I even respected her for it. The journey that follows- the grief, the grudges, the hostile alliances, the reluctant teamwork, Viper’s unhinged jealousy (SIR PLEASE, back off) and the desperate plan to break into the underworld 😬 had me glued to every page. The world-building is magnificent, and I appreciated the incredible crossovers from previous fantasy books colliding with this series. Cannot WAIT to see how everything wraps up, but for now I’m holding onto the last pages because that ending? That reunion? That kiss and embrace after everything they survived? I. Was. Screaming. ♥️ My heart fell over with joy. Penelope crafted something epic, emotional, and unforgettable. This entire series has been a brutal roller coaster of love, sacrifice, war, and destiny. If you’ve been following this series, this book will hit you like a tidal wave. If you haven’t… please catch up, because it is a masterpiece.

Kiss of Death is raw, intoxicating, and absolutely relentless. Penelope Barsetti doesn’t just tug at your heartstrings she shreds them, one chapter at a time, and you’ll beg her to keep going. Just when you think you’ve survived the worst of the heartbreak, she hits you with another twist, another revelation, another impossible cliffhanger that leaves you breathless.
From the very first page, I was thrown straight back into Lily and Callum’s world and I couldn’t look away. This book drips with emotion. Hope. Rage. Devotion. Despair. Every chapter drags you deeper until you’re drowning right beside them.
Lily absolutely stole my heart in this installment. Her strength is staggering, her loyalty unshakeable, her determination unmatched. She would burn the entire world down if it meant getting back to Callum and honestly? I’d hand her the matches. Talon should’ve remembered exactly who he raised, because Lily’s stubbornness and fire are pure Talon blood, and it shows.
I loved having the vampire gang back in full force but Viper? Oh, he tested every ounce of my patience. The man was practically begging for Lily’s affection and refusing to take “no” for an answer. And yet… I can’t help wanting his story. There’s so much depth simmering under all that desperation.
And Callum… his heartbreak wrecked me. Knowing he can’t stand beside Lily during the most defining battle of her life? Brutal. All he can do is hope she survives what’s coming and that their love survives with her.
For the first time ever, I found myself angry with Talon. His choices, his doubts, his unwillingness to trust Lily’s words cut deeper than any blade. And now we’re left on the edge, waiting to see if everything they’ve fought for survives… or if betrayal, deceit, or an unpaid debt ends it all.
Penelope Barsetti has crafted an emotional warzone, and I was addicted to every devastating, beautiful, impossible moment.
Bring on the finale I’m not ready, but I need to know.
📌 Voluntary review. No compensation just one reader who unexpectedly fell headfirst into the chaos and loved every fractured second.
Kiss is Death is the seventh book in Death Series. We pick up right where we left off after the devastating cliffhanger. Callum has yet to appear and Lily is starting to worry. As the war approaches, she must try to find allies who will come to her aid as well as finding what she needs for her father. Once the battle starts, it’s a fight for her life, her family, her people, and her dragons. Aid does come from everywhere, including the vampire army led by Viper. The only one not to show up is Callum. When she realizes she has his strength but not his powers, she knows something is wrong. He would never abandon her. Lily has one mission after the battle and helping her dad, and test is to find Callum and help him.
Callum, stuck in the underworld, is left hopelessly thinking about Lily. He does not know if the war has started. He is worried she can no longer command the dead, which would be extremely helpful during this war. He knows he will most likely never see her again but will not give up. She still has his strength of a god. As long as she has that, for her, he will hold on. Not knowing what is happening, the only thing left to do is wait. To find out if the war is over and if she survived. Then, as much as he hates it, to let her go and move on.
Penelope Sky had me crying and at the edge of my seat the entire book. The events that led after the war were not only heartbreakingly beautiful but also tragically catastrophic. I never thought I’d be so invested in a fantasy series but Penelope makes it easy. It’s the most heartbreaking, infuriating, and beautiful yet. Lily and Wrath go through so much to be together. My emotions were all over the place. Even when I was happy, I was terrified fearing the worst. However, their love is deeply felt through the book and their chemistry is on another level. This was beyond an emotional rollercoaster. It is filled with drama, action, danger, angst, heartbreak, battles, and dragons. The cameos were an added bonus. It’s an ultimate crossover as we see characters from other series. I cannot wait to see how this ends. I’m rooting for Lily and Wrath.
Penelope Barsetti has done it again with Kiss of Death. As she continues this explosive installment of the series, she takes us on an emotional roller coaster that does not let up. This book is packed with heartbreak, tension, and the kind of twists that leave you staring at the last page in disbelief.
From the start, Lily is thrust into battles unlike any she’s ever faced—and for the first time, she has to grapple with the terrifying possibility that her enemies may be undefeatable. On top of the physical war, she’s thrust into emotional darkness: abandoned, grieving, and mourning what she believes could be the loss of the love of her life. Meanwhile, Callum, trapped in the Underworld with no way to contact her, is suffering in equal misery. Their separation is agonizing.
But Lily is smart—and her instincts are powerful. When she realizes she can no longer raise the army of the dead, yet somehow still possesses god-like strength, she feels it in her soul that Callum must still be alive somewhere (or at least… as alive as he can be). That small spark of hope keeps her pressing forward.
The emotional highs and lows in this story hit hard. I cried more than once reading this—Penelope Sky ripped my heart out again and again. And then there’s Viper. His loyalty, his devotion, and the way he brings his army to her side—defying his own brother and professing his love for her over and over—absolutely broke me. I kept wondering what kind of twist Penelope was setting up. I was terrified the God of the Underworld would destroy Callum completely, leaving Lily with Viper… and I’ll admit, a part of me secretly wondered if those two might end up together. If Callum were trapped forever as an eater and never able to return, at least Lily would have the love of someone who truly deserved her and earned her.
But of course, just when things finally seem to be taking a turn, Penelope Sky hits us with a brutal cliffhanger—one that left me stunned and desperate for the next book. The wait is going to feel like torture… but I will absolutely be reading the next installment the moment it drops.

What an utterly addicting mind-boggling! That cliffhanger… making me wait with bated breath! KISS OF DEATH is the 7th book in the Death Series. This is a MUST READ with plenty of heart-thumping moments! It’s an emotional turmoil! It’s nail-biting action! It’s suspenseful! It’s full of heartache! But, you will need tissues for this heartbreaking read. What a ride!! This story also oozes with lust, desire, revenge, danger, and drags you deep into its darkness and intrigue that is all rolled up into one deliciously dark and twisted package. This is the continuation of Wrath (aka Callum Riverside) and Lily Lena Rothschild’s bittersweet love story.
When a war ensues to threaten the Southern Isles peace and hostile forces plan an invasion, will Wrath (Callum) interfere with the living battle? Lily’s father illness has unfortunately rendered him unresponsive. Lily is at her wits end when one of her allies turns enemy and joins forces with her archenemy. Further compounding her difficulties, she faces this challenge without the man she loves—Callum. Why? Where is Callum and what happened to him? Will Lily be able to defend the Southern Isles without Callum? Will Lily be victorious or defeated?
Callum and Lily are full of surprises—I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it was jaw-dropping good! Then an incident occurred, and it will affect both Callum, Lily, and her family. Will Callum and Lily be able to get past all of the abhorrent circumstances that caused a lot of pain? Will their doubts get in the way of true love? Is Lily going to feel aggrieved that Callum didn’t show up for her at a crucial moment when she needed him? Will Lily find out Wrath’s secret of why he is in the Underworld? Will Talon find out Lily’s secret of being with the God of the Underworld, King of the Dead? What happens next? Well, read this amazing story and find out. Penelope Barsetti delivered a powerful and emotional, intense, intoxicating, and all-consuming story that left me obsessed. You won’t regret reading KISS OF DEATH. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!
Kiss of Death, the seventh book in the Death Series, jumps right back into the chaos after that brutal cliffhanger. Callum is still nowhere to be found, and Lily is starting to panic. With war closing in, she has to gather allies and track down what her father needs, all while trying to keep her people and her dragons alive. Support comes from every direction—even Viper and the vampires show up—but Callum is the one person missing. When Lily realizes she still carries his strength but none of his powers, she knows immediately something isn’t right. He would never stay away by choice. Once the battle is over and she’s helped her father, her next goal is clear: she has to find Callum.
Callum, trapped in the underworld, spends every moment thinking about Lily. He doesn’t know if the war has started or ended, and he’s terrified that she can’t command the dead anymore—something she desperately needed for this fight. He’s convinced he may never see her again, but he refuses to give up. As long as she holds the strength he gave her, that’s enough for him to keep going. With no way to know what’s happening above, all he can do is wait. Wait to learn if the war is over, if she made it, and—if it comes to it—let her go.
Penelope Sky had me crying, stressed, and hooked from start to finish. Everything that happens after the war is both heartbreaking and overwhelming in the best way. I genuinely didn’t expect to get this invested in a fantasy series, but she makes it so easy. This book is the most emotional one yet—equal parts frustrating, beautiful, and intense. Lily and Wrath go through so much, and my emotions were everywhere. Even when things felt good, I was bracing for the worst. Their love is so strong throughout the book, and their chemistry is insane. This story is packed with battles, dragons, danger, drama, heartbreak, and tension. The cameos were such a fun surprise, too. It’s a full crossover moment, and now I’m counting down until the next book. I just want Lily and Wrath to get their peace.

Kiss of Death is #7 in the Death Series. Who would have thought this story would have spun out like this! This story had me turning the pages to find out what would happen next, even though at times I wasn't sure I wanted to know. My poor nerves are shot!
Lily is Queen, as her father, Talon, is still wounded. Callum has not appeared to her for days now. The Barbarians are on the way. Lily is stressed - can she lead her people into war and survive? Where is Callum? Can she find the platinum needed to heal her father? So much pressure for a young queen.
They have survived the war with the help of the Vampires... does anyone remember Viper!!! (My poor heart - I love him). They have sailed halfway across the world to come to Lily and her people's aid!! Does that not sound like love! Will we have a love triangle????
As things are starting to be restored in the kingdom, Lily accepts Viper's help to get the treatment for her father. Will they be successful? Does this change her feelings for Viper? Since Callum is not around will he become her true romance?
Lily has decided to meet with the God of the Underworld, will she exchange her soul for Callum's or will this be a short meeting to verify that Callum is there?
This story explores so many emotions of love: a father's love and worry for his daughter; a vampire who will go to great lengths to prove his love for the woman who has captured his heart. Even Callum and Lily's deep love for each other is explored.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Oh I must say the Queen of Spicy romance has surprised us...there is not a bit of spice...but the story is still very much a page turner.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Great world building, Page-turner, Twisted, Unpredictable, Wonderful characters
Forget the idea of a cozy evening read; Kiss of Death is a literary addiction. Penelope doesn't just write a story - she crafts a masterful piece of emotional warfare that will obliterate your schedule and leave you utterly consumed.
The central conflict is the raw, devastating bond between Lily and the imprisoned Wrath. Though she and Viper manage to secure the necessary platinum and fend off the Barbarians, Lily's success feels hollow because her soulmate, the God of the Underworld, is stripped of his power and unreachable. Her absolute certainty that Wrath would never leave her drives her relentless search and mounting panic.
Meanwhile, Viper is at his absolute best (or worst, depending on how you look at it...I am feeling "why choose?"). He is intensely devoted, yet deeply manipulative, even going so far as to scheme with Lily's father to achieve his goals. The tension between his fierce love and Lily's unwavering commitment to Wrath is a palpable, brutal fight.
The book is an absolute emotional overload. I was constantly torn, shaking my head at the stubborn, frustrating choices made by the characters, and then immediately holding my breath as the plot escalated. When her pleas to her father and Riviana fail, Lily is forced to consider a definitive, terrifying sacrifice.
The writing of heartbreak is so visceral and honest that it feels like a personal ache. This isn't background drama; it's a front-row seat to agony, hope, and determination. Kiss of Death grabs your heart by the throat and doesn't release it until the final, breathless page. This is, without a doubt, one of my favorites. Five stars and zero regrets for the lost sleep....and stress lol!
You know it hits when one of your favorite spicy authors writes an entire book without ANY spice and you still read it in one sitting without even realizing it until you're on the last page. I'm so glad we get to continue in this world for another book, this has been a wild ride since book 1 with Lily's parents. The emotion in this one is through the roof, and that's only just above how incredibly written the battle and fight scenes are. I love that I can picture the entire scene in my head like I'm watching a movie while I'm reading. My heart was pulled in all manner of directions with watching Lily grow with confidence in her status as Queen, manning the helm while Talon is incapacitated, her desperation with trying to figure out how to get everything to work out with freeing Wrath, and then Viper... freakin' A, Viper... (I hope we go back to the vampire world and get him sorted because he deserves something good like his brothers. Plus, selfishly, I wouldn't hate going back to the Dirty Blood world anyway, I loved that series.) We get small glimpses of Wrath dealing with his own Hell, just wanting to yell "hold on, baby, Lily's on her way!" I swear, I found myself saying "oh don't you dare..." several times to different characters throughout the book. I don't want to get too much into what happens so this doesn't get accidentally spoilery. The cliffy has me absolutely DYING for the resolution.
This is fantastic read my whole being was invented in this amazing unforgettable series! The author is great at pulling all kinds of different emotions out of me I felt like I was feeling everything the characters were. I love the determination Lilly shows throughout this book she is just like her father never gives up on what her heart tells or when she comes up with something. This book provides a lot of depth, dangerous challenges, feelings of every kind. I’m so happy with some of the shocking outcomes with this book I hope they continue. I couldn’t stop yelling at my phone has I was reading especially with what Lilly does do. I’m curious who the lady is who was warning Lilly in death land! I have so many things going on in my mind about this book I enjoy it very much! I’m always intrigued with what the ups and downs will be with each new book and this talented author never disappoints can’t wait for the next one! Hope her family will like her choice in men sooner rather then later lots of conflict in this one.:) once again I couldn’t possibly put this book down till the end:) Reasons I enjoyed this book: HauntingFunnyUnpredictable TragicWonderful charactersTwistedAction-packedPage-turnerRomanticEasy-to-readTear-jerkerHappily Ever After
Ahh, The kiss of death wrecked me in ways I wasn’t ready for. Penelope’s writing didn’t just pull me in—it grabbed me by the heart and refused to let go. I swear, I spent half the book shaking my head in frustration and the other half clutching my chest because of how deeply everything hurt. The way certain characters handled things had me screaming internally. Their choices, their silence, their stubbornness… it was the kind of emotional chaos that made me want to crawl into the pages and intervene myself.
And the heartbreak? It wasn’t gentle. It hit like a punch each time. Penelope writes pain with such raw honesty that it feels personal—like you’re not just reading their story, you’re living it with them. There were moments when I had to stop and breathe because the weight of it all was so heavy, yet it was beautifully written. She gives you hope, rips it away, and then somehow makes you care even more.
By the end, I felt completely undone—in the best, most agonizing way. The kiss of death isn’t just a book; it’s an experience that leaves you wrung out, emotional, and still craving more. Penelope truly knows how to break a reader’s heart and make them grateful for it.
I'll read anything by this author but I have to admit that this book wasn't my favorite. There is a lot of war stuff and by that I mean that there is a lot of scenes where Lily is fighting for her survival. Her father Talon, has been severely wounded so she is now Queen and has to fight demons and the underworld. Callum/Wrath only has a few chapters in the entire book and he himself, is fighting to keep Lily out of the underworld. He also is fighting Levithan, who is trying to get his soul. I wouldn't classify this as a "romance novel" since there is zero romance in this book.
It does reintroduce some characters from previous books that I did not remember like Viper (a vampire) and some of the fairies, whose names I also couldn't remember. So there are dragons, vampires, fairies, demons, and devils in this book, but no romance. This series is not my favorite from this author but I have to say that she has a heck of an imagination and she describes the scenes in fantastic detail. I have to finish the series to see if Lily and Callum stay mortal or if they stay together in the underworld.
You did it again, Penelope! I flew through this book because I had to know what else was going to happen and trust me, a LOT happens.
On one side we have Lily, who has no idea why Callum suddenly disappeared from her life. He was stripped of his title as the God of the Underworld, which meant he couldn’t go back to her, not even to explain what was happening. I loved that Lily never doubted him. She just knew something bigger was going on, especially with a war literally at her doorstep.
And Lily, being her parents’ daughter obviously 💁🏻♀️ even with her heart completely shattered not knowing where Callum was, threw herself into preparing for the war and figuring out how to win it. Let me tell you…Viper, showing up? OMG. I was shocked by everything going on between them. I NEED scenes with Lily, Callum, and Viper together, like It’s not really a love triangle, but oh my god, it felt like watching a drama in the best possible way, I was hooked.
Then we get Talon back and watching him discover Lily’s connection with the “heir” of his greatest enemy… every chapter just kept getting better and better.
I cannot wait to see how Lily’s men (lol) join forces now and save her from Leviathan. Although, based on that ending, I’m not sure Lily will need saving at all. ✨✨
Desperately waiting for the next book and PLEASE, give Viper his own book!!! 😩😩😩

I don't think there's ever gonna be a book by Penelope Barsetti in her fantasy romance world that would disappoint me. It's never going to happen because this book...my god, the way this book made me cry at almost every chapter is indescribable. My heart was already shattered for Callum and his eternal heartache, but my god that ending made me sob.
Every chapter expressed the raw emotions so well that i felt like I was actually seeing it all happen in front of me. Lily was an absolute badass, she is truly a queen and she's proved it. She was absolutely the best. And Talon I've supported you since your first books but in this one you made me upset with your choices. Let's hope you redeem yourself in the next book, but I still love u and always will. And Callum...I've no words for my man who's willing to sacrifice everything he got for the woman he loves, including letting her go. I hope and pray my man gets the HEA he deserves, especially after proving at every stage how much he loves Lily.
Massive emotional rollercoaster ! Lilly fights and wins the battle to save her lands all the while worrying about Callum who hasn’t been in touch for several days, she knows something is terribly wrong and doubts herself. Hawk gives her the boost she needs and along with Viper ( her previous vampire lover) they succeed. Viper confesses his deep love for her, helping her get the cure for Talon even though she can’t return his feelings. Talon wakes to the news he’s always dreaded, Lilly loves the god of the underworld, a monster in his eyes and he won’t support her, he doesn’t realise Callum still has a soul and is capable of true love. Lilly ultimately can’t live without him so makes the gravest decision ever because without support she has no choice. In the knowledge she will be rescued she gives herself to Leviathan in place of Callum who is devastated and determined to get her back. This is so deep, drenched in emotion turmoil from start to finish.
I was instantly pulled back into Lily and Callum's story from the first page.
My emotions were pulled in every direction, heartbreak always being at the forefront throughout.
I found myself in awe of Lily, her strength and her undying devotion to Callum knows no limits. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them to be together.
Callum's heart is broken, knowing he can't be with Lily for the most important battle of her life. All he can do is hope she prevails.
I never ever thought I could be angry with Talon, but I found myself feeling that way with his decision making. Not trusting in Lily's words.
Penelope Barsetti knows exactly how to pull you into the worlds she creates, and make you feel every emotion her characters are feeling, including dragons.....and that’s why she is a favourite author of mine.
Now to wait for Goddess of Death, to read the epic conclusion of this series.
I’m still in shock and at a loss for words after finishing this book. Penelope has left me in shambles again.
Lily was able to defeat the Barbarians with the help of Viper. Viper and Lily were able to find the platinum needed to heal Talon, her father. But her heart is still breaking because she can’t communicate or find Wrath. She knows something has happened to him because he’d never leave her.
Wrath was stripped as God of the Underworld by the covenant. He’s trapped in the Underworld with no way to contact Lily. But Lily is determined to get Wrath out of the underworld. She has begged her father and Riviana for help. When she is denied by both of them, she feels she has no choice, but to make the ultimate sacrifice.
This book is emotional overload. It will have you in knots and enthralled with every chapter. I love all of Penelope‘s books, but this has to be by far one of the best ones she has written. I cannot wait for the final conclusion in the next book.
Kiss of Death by Penelope Barsetti is a gripping, emotionally charged romance that leans unapologetically into intensity. Barsetti’s writing is immersive and confident, pulling readers into a world where danger and desire are tightly intertwined. The pacing is strong, balancing tension with quieter, character-driven moments that give the story real emotional weight.
What truly stands out is the atmosphere: dark, seductive, and brimming with anticipation. The characters are complex and compelling, their chemistry undeniable, and the emotional stakes feel consistently high. Barsetti excels at exploring vulnerability and strength without losing momentum or impact.
This isn’t a light read, but it’s a rewarding one for readers who enjoy darker romance with depth, passion, and edge. Kiss of Death delivers intensity and heart in equal measure, making it a memorable addition to the genre.
How dare you with that ending! I spent the majority of this book feeling betrayed, from the beginning and a situation with Talon, to the very end with that cliffhanger. Then later I kind of wanted to give Talon a little throat punch for hating on my boy. Like he can judge anyone for anything. Then there’s Viper. I’ve always liked him but he just needs to chill. I hope Lily sets him straight with a quickness in the next book. In all seriousness, I have been invested in this series since The Death King. To see the progression of the story and character arcs is just beautiful. I feel like Penelope really killed it with her writing of Lily. She is such a force of nature and every girl should want to be like her when they grow up. This might be the first time I’m more captivated by the FMC than the MMC and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Kiss of Death was one emotional roller coaster with every page. I felt Lily’s pain, anger, her tears through out the whole book. The way she fought for the men in her life with no exceptions was beautiful. I knew she was going to go to hell and back literally to bring Callum back. Talon of all people should have known how stubborn Lily is, she’s literally his daughter. I was happy for the vampire gang to be back but Viper was pissing me off. He was almost begging to be with Lily and just wouldn’t take no for an answer. I really want him to have his own story cause his character deserves it. Viper has always been the brother to me that wouldn’t beg anyone for anything especially for a woman to be with him. I can’t wait for the finale conclusion to Lily and Callum story. They deserve their happy ever after.

This is the seventh book in the Death Series, I have been looking forward to reading this after the cliff hanger in book six. This book did not disappoint! The book starts exactly where we left off, Lilly about to go into battle with Wrath trapped in the Underworld. The battle scenes are so well written that you are immersed in them as though you are in the fight yourself, there are so much details about the environment and the emotions and feelings everyone is going through. Lilly has so much faith in her relationship with Wrath that she wants to do everything to get him back, I felt the pain when Talon did not back Lilly..... Every book in this series just gets better and better, I could not put it down! I have read all the books from Penelope, I have never finished one so fast it was just that good! This series is a must read, you will feel every emotion and not regret it!
The love story of Lily and Callum is the best kind- willing to do anything to get to each other, fight for each other and travel to the end of the world for each other- it had me craving for the rest of their story and completely invested myself in it. Oh how Penelope loves to take me on an emotional rollercoaster with every book she writes and this one had me feeling every one again. The action scenes had me on the edge of my seat, cheering on Lily. Her strength, confidence and resilience is inspiring- you can’t help but cheer her on! I forget this is a fantasy series and travel into that world with every page. This series has danger, heartbreak and love so what else do you need- Penelope’s writing always sucks me in after one page and I love it.
Thank you to the author for this ARC, this review comes from my heart and is completely voluntary and honest!
okeyy this was a brutally emotional and relentlessly intense installment that immediately throws the reader into a massive war and the aftermath of a devastating cliffhanger. It centers on the profound, selfless love between Lily and Callum (Wrath), whose bond is tested by separation, torment, and the ultimate sacrifice Lily makes for him, a heartbreaking act that destroys her family and leaves all of us sobbing lol. Packed with thrilling, anxiety-inducing battle scenes, unexpected alliances like Viper (Viper hiii) and of his army, and a staggering amount of tension, the novel is a chaotic, addictive rollercoaster that ends with a devastating cliffhanger, making it an absolute must-read. I don’t want them to suffer anymore where’s the happiness lmao, can’t wait to know how this is going to end😫
This booked kicked off with a bang, right where the last one ended. Inflicting a war of emotions in me with tears pouring down my face often.
After Callum looses his soul for an unmatched love, he finally gets to experience what a brave ferocious and undying love really is, at the expense of everything.
After becoming all consumed with Talon's story previously, I wouldn't have thought it possible to become angry with him but in his heartache, he becomes such a vicious man.
Lily is by far the most ferocious and brave heroine of all time. She let's no boundaries keep her in place and truly stops at nothing to get what she wants.
We wait until the next and final book to find out if it was all worth it. If either deciet and betrayal or an unpaid debt can ruin it all.
Lily and Wraths story continues. When faced with a threat to the Southern Isles Lily must make a difficult decision in order to save her people. Wrath is MIA and she finds herself unable to raise and command the dead. She still has his enhanced strength and fuses with her dragon in preparation of the battle ahead. General Viper answers her call for help and with the help of her brother she is able to defeat the enemy. While her father King Talon recovers, General Viper declares his intentions to both the King and her ..he is in love with her. Lily makes it known that she is in love with Wrath and that will never change. Her mission then becomes finding Wrath . Is she able to do that? Does he still have the feelings for her? Is she willing to risk life and limb to find out?
Loved this book. Though it was difficult to read at times because of the emotions flying around in my head and heart. Like this whole series, there was a lot of swashbuckling, sword flighting action. I was right there in the thick of the duels, back to back with Lily, so much so that my arms hurt from holding up those heavy clanging swords. When you thought the emotions couldn't get worse? It got worse. The heart wrenching anguish of lost loved ones. I could feel the pain of a dragon losing his human sister and just wanting to hug him and cry. This whole series is just the best. Penelope Barsetti/Sky writes so that you are there, like a silent family member, looking on and experiencing all the drama. Highly recommend this book and the series.
Penelope Sky loves ripping my heart out and leaving me begging for more. Kiss of Death is raw, intoxicating, and charged with emotion in every chapter. Just when you think you’ve taken your last hit of heartbreak, she twists the knife and leaves you standing on the edge of another impossible cliffhanger.
The tension, the longing, the danger — it all builds until you’re breathless. Sky doesn’t just write a story… she drags you into it, makes you feel every pulse, every fear, every stolen moment. And then, right when you’re fully invested, she leaves you hanging in the dark all over again.
I’m shattered, heart broken, and Patient/ Impatiently waiting for January. Go read this amazing journey!

Lily in battle is a total bad ass!! Even without Callum there to help guide her & the power to command the dead, she still had the strength to fight! Ahhhhh Viper came to help!!! Love him the most for that. He loves her!!😭 Yesss Talon is back!! I missed him!! My girl Lily isn't giving up on Callum (Wrath) & I love her for that!👏🏽👏🏽 She's fierce, loyal, & so stubborn! (Just like her dad) I love how even when she was turned down many times, she never lost hope & didn't give up on Callum!! Their love is so pure, magical, & mighty! Callum didn't give up on Lily either & i love that so much!! Our girl is a literal GODDESS ✨️✨️✨️ I can't wait for the next book😭🩷 Penelope what did you do to me😭🫶🏽
