Amethyst is given the power to heal by the Gods, only she has to do it in a very unconventional way. Her best friend Rex also helps her. Some gods want her to stop saving people. She has to decide what she will do.

I loved the idea and the premise of this book! It is so unique and unlike anything I've seen. The author brings together deities from all the different beliefs on Earth. The largest complaint I have is that the book is way too short to really do this idea and the story justice. I would have loved to see more buildup to the big reveal at the end as well as more interactions between the main character and the gods and the gods with themselves. Overall, though, the book was a quick read and featured a cast of LGBTQIA+ characters, which is always refreshing in this genre.

Ashley Brion is one of my go-to authors, and Lotus Crystal was a wild ride. This story follows Amethyst Rayne, who is gifted a magical lotus crystal by the gods, one that can heal a deadly disease, but the price for that power is anything but simple.

The gods are messy, manipulative, and not all on the same side, and Amethyst is caught in the middle with her best friend Rex’s soul on the line. I loved the mix of mythology, mystery, and tension, and how nothing ever feels easy or straightforward.

As always, be mindful of trigger warnings. What I like, you may not.

Happy Reading!

This one wasn’t exactly my usual type of book, but I still ended up really enjoying it! Amethyst Rayne was such an interesting main character — strong, emotional, and easy to root for. The story had a nice mix of depth and fantasy that pulled me in more than I expected. Ashley Brion’s writing was beautiful, and the world-building had just the right amount of magic and mystery. Even though it’s not totally my usual read, it was still a solid and captivating story.

Amethyst has been given a gift by the gods, a gift that allows her to heal all diseases—but why?

It's all thanks to a magical crystal in the shape of a lotus flower, Amethyst Rayne's world has been turned upside down. She has now been made to do the gods – all of the knows gods – bidding to stop a mysterious disease from plaguing all Earth. And that includes doing all kinds of down and dirty favours, giving her a sexual awakening.

But not all of the gods are in on this plan. *cough looking at you, death and destruction gods* and no one seems to be telling anyone the full truth. They come to Amethyst with an give up your prowess and let them run rampant during Samhain, or they send her and her beloved best friend Rex's soul down to be ripped apart and split between all of the different versions of hell.

Now it's up to Amethyst to unveil the shrouds of the mystery and save Rex and the other gods in the process.

But can she do it in time?

Lotus Crystal by Ashley Brion.

A magical crystal in the shape of a lotus flower has given Amethyst Rayne the ability to heal all diseases, it's a gift by the gods – but Amethyst doesn't know why she was chosen for this gift. And now that she has it, her life's been turned completely upside down.

Now, she has to do what all the gods – ALL of the known gods – in an attempt to stop a mysterious disease from plaguing all of the Earth, killing an unknown number of people. And that includes being forced into doing all kinds of down and dirty favours that end up giving Amethyst her sexual awakening.

There are some gods who are not in on this plan, I'm looking at you gods of death and destruction, but Amethyst knows that no one is telling her or anyone else the full truth. The people who come to Amethyst demanding she give up her powers and then she lets them go and run rampant during Samhain, and she can't say no or they'll send her and her beloved best friend Rex's soul down to h*ll just to be ripped apart and then split between all of the different levels of hell.

Now Amethyst needs to unveil the shrouds of mystery in order to save not only Rex but all the other gods.

Her only question left is, can she do it in time?

Now Amethyst is in the fight for her life, and it's not only a fight for her life it's the fight to save all of humanity from diseases that could soon kill the entire population. This fight takes both Amethyst and her best friend Rex on an adventure to find out exactly what is going on and how she can stop these diseases and save not only humanity but also all the gods.

This is the a quick and easy read that you can read in one sitting. It is a great story and it's enjoyable and you're not going to be sorry you picked it up.
