From bestselling author of Dead Meat comes a new, fast-paced, unpredictable and brutal zombie series with a fresh take on the genre.
“ T he best zombie series on Amazon. Period.”
Two teenagers find a frozen corpse in the middle of the woods and decide to bring it back to town. They have no idea they just sparked the zombie apocalypse.
In the morgue below the hospital, the dead begin waking up and attacking the living. The infection spreads rapidly, turning the place into a slaughterhouse as those inside fight to survive against the undead.
As the situation escalates, authorities are forced to seal off the building in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus. But it may already be too late ...
Fans of Mark Tufo, Bobby Adair, Mike Evans and Camille Picott will devour this action-packed zombie series. And if you liked Slow Burn , Dead State or The End of Everything , you’ll love Cadaver . Readers are ★★★★★ “super exciting, totally entertaining and innovative zombie series” ★★★★★ “you won't be able to stop reading until the last page” ★★★★★ “terrifying, nightmare-inducing, impossible to put down”
I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

As the saga goes on and the raging zombies, this series continues. I'm sticking with it as I believe from some subtle hints the ending will be entirely twisted.
Still really good, it wouldn’t be a zombie apocalypse without a few annoying characters, but the suspense is still really good, i even had to put the book down while reading at night, it got me so scared i couldn’t handle it😅
This series continues to be suspenseful and consistent with story line, characters, and plot. Not as gruesome or compelling as the first three in the series but still enjoyable.
How are we able to carry on? Aksel wonders. We should be balled up in a corner, crying.
So many individual survivors, and two groups are about to cross paths in deadly waves. Ragnar and Kris were dealing with the repercussions of executing Lukas (a soldier who ambushed them) and the volatile anger of his younger brother KJell as the man wants vengeance on his brother's death. Taking shelter in the cave along with Jan (the final member of the soldier trio), they begin making plans to outsmart the man and come out living. Meanwhile, Brenda, Rosa, Askel, and Anne (Ella's mother) are driving through the back roads hunting for anyplace safe to take shelter from the zombies. Still haunted by the news her daughter was infected and dead, Anne is struggling to stay motivated in the moment. Askel is still suffering with grief from losing both Frida and Jakob, and Belinda is just thankful her daughter survived. Stumbling upon a turned over prison bus, they met a survivor who was tasked with carrying suspected infected to this abandoned prison for holding purposes. Agreeing to let him live, he flees at the first sign of sdiers, leaving the group alone to deal. Seeing Belinda is rubbing a fever from Mono, they take her handcuffed with plans to transport her for holding as she's now suspected of being infected. Following close behind, he manages to catch up to the soldiers and sees a grisly act taking place. Shot and executed by KJell, Askel takes shelter next to Belinda in the back, as the killer hops behind the wheel. Hoping the others will follow and help break them free, he can do nothing but sit amongst the infected and hope he didn't just sign his death warrant.
"Feber, farve and flenger? Two out of three, and we gotta bring you in.” Marit is proving herself to be quite a coward, leaving Hagos for dead as she chooses to save her own skin. After he saved her life again, he finds himself pinned into a closet as she jumps to safety from the window. Covering himself in dozens of clothes to dispel the bites and scratches, he tries to escape but finds himself being trapped beneath the weight of three of the undead. When Ella meets Merit on the street, her cousin tucks tail and flees, refusing to even accept Ella could still be alive. Finding her words suspicious regarding Hagos, Ella quickly runs into her Aunt's house to find the truth for herself.
Feber means fever, farve is color, which must refer to discoloration of the skin, and flenger is also self-evident; it means scratches.
Even after a 13-day hiatus between listening to Cadaver 3 and Cadaver 4, starting this fourth book was like slipping on a pair of comfortable shoes, everything was familiar when it came to characters and where Cadaver 3 left off. Of course, the similarity ended once the action of this book took off. Several situations from the previous book were resolved only to result in new sets of issues and circumstances. Just when you start to get comfortable and think you know how something is going to go, the dead and living have a way of throwing a wrench in your prediction as well as in the plans of the characters. The more this story progressed, the more I found it necessary to keep listening – even though there were things I could/should have been doing that would preclude listening to the story. I’ll have to admit to being addicted to the excellent storyline/story telling of Nick Clausen combined with Spencer Dillehay’s expert narration.
Yup - Finished Another Great Addition to the Series!
Loving the storyline just as much as all the previous entries. Some great twists in this one, as we delve deeper into our main protagonists mindsets, personalities, and subsequent hurried changes to their core beings as happens when faced with a disaster this cruel, violent and large scale.
Oddly, or perhaps not so odd, I turn my thoughts to the people of the world currently caught up in the horrors of war. Their losses, their ongoing need for safety and security that was ripped away so abruptly… and no time to truly grieve. It’s a repetitive pattern that I loathe. Wish it could be all in fiction only.
Anyways, read the series! Onward to the next book!!!
I liked the book in general but I’m getting annoyed by how slowly this is moving. The books are short and there are too many characters. Each character gets 2-3 chapters and then the book is over on a cliffhanger and each character barely moved in the storyline. I was more interested in the girl who survived. So even though I like the series I am marking this down. Too short, too many characters with not enough story development. The psycho guy is interesting but we really didn’t need for characters or drama. I’m still more interested in the zombies.
Audiobook: Book 4 maintained the same level of intensity as the first three books in the "A Zombie Apocalypse Thriller" series. The story jumped from one action packed scene to the next, making it hard for me to take a breath. I was so invested in the characters that I had to listen to the whole audiobook in one sitting. The characters were so realistic that they could almost be my neighbors. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Spencer Dillehay's narration was awesome, and his performance added to the impact of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
This book does what it says on the tin. It's a zombie book written by a great author. Every once in a while you'll get a petty little Norwegian side-swipe at American culture (I feel sorry for him, really) that sort of takes you out of the action and reveals a little too much of the author for my taste.
Still, these are genuinely good books with a genuinely interesting premise.
Clausen delivers. Good characters. Lots of death and gore. Dead darlings all over the place. Hey, it's a zombie book - what more can I say? I will keep coming back to this well until I'm an old man. I just LOVE the genre.
Absolutely gripping read . The outbreak is getting worse and can't be contained . Aksel and his group have run in to some trouble . Belinda has been taken by soldiers who think she may be infected . The group are now on a mission to rescue her. The only problem is a psychotic soldier with a grudge has shot the other soldiers and is now driving away with Belinda and Aksel in the back of the van filled with zombies . Ella is feeling better and is now trying to get in touch with her mum. Looking forward to the next book.
Enjoying this series. There's a character introduced in the third book who is scarier than the infected. The infected are mindless killers as in all zombie books, but the psychopath, because he is manipulative, without conscience, and volatile, makes him a formidable foe. I fear for the characters caught up in his path.
Because this story is not based on a virus per se or other biological infection, there's an element of mythology involved, but I find it a unique take on the genre and will certainly finish the series.
I highly recommend to anyone who loves the genre as much as I do!
With Book 4, the series is still going strong with plenty of suspense, twists and turns. The story is still has tempo and weight. The characters are engaging and varied as are the decisions and situation that they are confronted with. This installment starts to slowly lay the ground work for what looks to be an exciting conclusion in later books.
If you've read books 1 to 3, you don't need me to tell you that book 4 is worth reading.
These books are so good I want to send a message to the author please write faster can't wait for the next book I'm hooked on these books and enjoying them so much again I say please please write faster because I don't want to wait thank you for the entertainment that you have given me
What a ride! I actually read this in a day! Number 4 and still with fresh ideas, exciting action and characters you can’t help but like. Fast paced and original. I can’t wait for number 5!
Really enjoying this series. The lives intersecting is interesting. Good characters and some good, unexpected developments. I recommend this series, but be sure to start with the first one.
Loved this whole series. I will be re reading this when the 5th and 6th book come out. It was everything I look for in a zombie series. It was better than any zombie show or movie I’ve seen.
Still great, face paced and with new twists! Once again the dog better not die, but I love that Nick Clausen makes the animals not affected by the zombies/virus❤️
Finally. Ive been waiting for this part in the series. I enjoyed this book. It didn't disappoint. It was really getting good at the end so I can't wait to read part 5. I love a good zombie story. Tried to leave a review on Amazon but some of their books don't let you get to the review page. Good thing I have Good Reads too.
