Nine Holidays Falling

Sadie Winslow

I never expected to run into my sister’s ex-boyfriend at that New Year’s Eve party. I should’ve known it was a possibility—I mean, it is his hometown—but I never thought he’d be at THAT party.

Then the Valentine's date from hell—not even close to his hometown? And the Memorial Day barbecue and Fourth of July festival? What was happening?

It was a surprise when my sister told me they broke up, but I understood after the stories she shared. Now, though? I’m struggling to believe he’s really as bad as she said.

Nothing’s adding up anymore.

Reid Alexander

Running into my ex’s younger sister wasn’t on my bingo card for the year, and if I had my way, I never would have seen her again.

It might not be fair to assume Sadie’s like her sister, but my gut’s been proven wrong before, and I can’t trust it anymore—no matter how much it’s telling me to give Sadie a shot.

But with every run-in, it’s getting harder and harder not to listen. Maybe I was wrong about this particular Winslow sister.

If only I could figure out why she hates me so much…

Such a sweet and spicy romance that will have you falling in love with our characters, Reid and Sadie🩷

And how cute is the idea to have a couple run into one another and slowly fall in love over all of the holidays?! I loved this idea so so much.

Sadie and Reid have known one another for years, thanks to the fact that Reid used to date Sadie's sister, Summer. But their relationship did not end amicably, and from what Summer has told Sadie, Reid is an absolute jerk. But when Sadie runs into Reid over the course of various holidays, blind dates, and in the small town of Ashford Falls, she's beginning to realize all that her sister told her about Reid is a lie... Could she really fall for her sister's ex-boyfriend?

Erin always writes such swoony, thoughtful, kind hearted MMCs that go out of their way to protect, care for, and take care of their women. Add on top of that our FMC, Sadie, who's independent, loyal, hard working, and courageous enough to go after what she wants, even if that's the man her sister used to date! These two were so good together, and as always, I loved being back in the small town of Ashford Falls🫶🏼

Thank you so so much to Erin for the opportunity to beta and ARC read this story!🩷

Highly recommend Nine Holidays Falling for lovers of:

First, I want to mention how fun it was not only getting to see Christmas play out but all the holidays we get throughout the year.

The tension starts right from the first page with the sister’s ex-boyfriend being the leading man. A complicated dynamic to navigate through, the author did a good job of showcasing the messy emotions associated with loved ones and family members who do not always have their best interests at heart.

I would have loved to learn a little bit more about Sadie & Summer’s relationship before everything went down, but the open discussions between the MCs were heartfelt and genuine which was great to see.

A token of appreciation to the side characters who never fail to add their own spirited chaos to the story!

Congratulations on the release, Erin. Thank you for the trust 🫶

I loved meeting Sadie and Reid. They have known each other for a while, as Reid had dated Sadie's sister for 3 years.

They bumped into each other years later at a New Year's party. They were drawn to each other immediately, but nothing happened for months, as they were both having to deal with their internal convictions.

The plot moved quickly, with this just over 160-page book covering a full year. I would have loved for this to be a bit longer to show what happened between August and October, even if they did not see each other. And also to hear about the conversation Sadie had with her sister to let her know about her new relationship. I am happy the latter is available as a separate download.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Reid is the last person Sadie should be falling for. He’s her sister’s ex-boyfriend.. or so she’s been led to believe. Fate (and meddling friend group) has other plans for these two. They keep getting thrown together holiday after holiday. As they get to know each other, they start to learn the truth about the other and sparks fly.

I fell in love with Reid and Sadie so fast! Their story was so much fun. They’re both trying their best to stay away, but the pull between them is too strong to resist.

Thank you Erin for the ARC of Nine Holidays Falling!! 💕💕

What a cute novella! I absolutely loved that Sadie and Reid's relationship grew organically over the course of months and at each holiday.
I also enjoyed that Reid is the ex of Sadie's sister...scandalous!
Reid is a sexy MMC who knows how to bring the spice and Sadie is a sweet girl next door who enjoys being told to "use your words."

Thank you to Erin for the early copy.

"Maybe I'm just a Sadie Winslow guy."

This holiday Novella was the PERFECT little treat. It was exactly what I needed to pull me out of the book slump I was stuck in.

Reid and Sadie are the cutest pair. And we also got to see a lot more of Gage and Ava, which made me so happy. (I missed them dearly).

If you're looking for not just a Christmas holiday romance, but ALL the holidays, then look no further and pick this book up now!

Thank you Erin for the ARC!

ARC READ:

Five Star Read

This novella was so amazing! Loved seeing how Sadie and Reid’s love grew by the months and how it wasn’t easy for them as they had issues coming between them. Im not really a fan of the sister’s ex-boyfriend trope but I was gagged with this one. Reid was such a nice surprise and things about him started to make sense from why his relationship with Summer didn’t last. Would recommend to people who would like to read a one day read and are sucker for enemies to lovers and holiday love!

plot✨
sadie and reid never expected to run into each other at a NYE party, then again at a valentine's date from hell and even a 4th of july festival. after hearing about reid from her sister and why they broke up, sadie struggles to believe he’s really that bad. and with every run in it’s getting harder for reid to deny that sadie might be the winslow sister he was always supposed to be with...

‘reid and i went three years without ever running into each other. and now, all of a sudden, we can’t stop circling one another.’

review💭
a holiday novella, bridging two small town trilogies together… yes please! i wanted more from reid ever since he was first introduced and then getting a few hints to his story and the fmc i knew this novella was going to be amazing. i’m truly thankful to erin for asking me to alpha read this for her, she’s truly amazing 🫶🏼

whilst it’s only a novella so we don’t get lots of depth and information but that doesn’t stop it from being this super cute and cosy read with many swooning moments and wholesome vibes. reid and sadie truly are destined to be together, i adored how they were constantly thrown together even when they really shouldn’t have been. they were so perfect with such beautiful and authentic chemistry. seeing them slowly grow together over the year was everything, i adored how they were always so open with each other especially near to end when they slowly realised all the lies summer had told. sadie is such a lovely FMC, i really liked how she carried herself in this and grew so much. reid was a proper gentleman, i loved him a lot, he was caring and so charming.

‘our time came down to a bunch of little moments here and there. moments that to most people would be considered small, but to us, they were everything.’

What is not to love in a story when fate intervenes every step of the way.
Reid running into Sadie Winslow was an unexpected surprise?? Or was it?
Sadie only had her sister's horror stories to go on so when she ran into Reid Alexander, her sisters ex, she did what any good sister would do and blew him off.....Now Reid is convinced both sisters were much the same and he needed to steer clear of this particular Winslow sister at all costs!
It's a shame his brain couldn't go along with what he thought he should do....as he found he could not get the younger sibling off of his mind. And the more he thought about her, the more he felt the need to see her again.
Certainly fast paced for a novella, as each chapter was designated to a particular holiday celebrated in the USA, and with each holiday, fate had its way of making sure Sadie and Reid collided in some way.
When Reid's past comes crashing back into his life and causes a scene in front of Sadie and many towns folk, he walks away, not wanting to engage in the animosity Summer was displaying. Sadie realises too late that maybe Reid wasn't as bad as Summer had accused him of being?
Both Sadie and Reid soon accepted that their feelings for each other were developing, so YAY finally a bit of spice hits the pages as they decide on one night together! Reid soon realises he wants more, but finds Sadie gone when he wakes the next day. Sadie runs, not wanting to find Reid doesn't want her after their one night together!
How do two people with a history involving so much drama, stemming from Reid's ex.... aka Sadie's older sister overcome the odds and find that they deserve their very own HEA.
Have a read of this short spicy story and enjoy all that it entails for Reid and Sadie to get their much deserved loved up HEA!!

Tropes:
🩷Small town
🩷 Sister's ex boyfriend
🩷 Found family
🩷 All the holidays
🩷 Forced proximity
🩷 Reformed playboy
🩷 Loathe to love
🩷 Slow burn

This dedication sums this book up:
To those who need a reminder that it's okay to slow down. Life happens in all the little moments, not just the big ones. Take time to appreciate all of them.

This was the prefect cozy novella to read with a cup of something hot with snow on the ground. You get a little forbidden romance with Reid being Sadie's sisters ex boyfriend. A lot of forced proximity with them running into each other during the nine holidays. With a pinch of stalkerish tendencies from Reid.

Reid just happens to be a playboy until he runs into Sadie on New Year's. He's a good looking cop that hasn't wanted to date since he's three year relationship ended with Summer. The one person that makes him want to change his ways just happens to be his ex's sister.

Sadie is having struggling with having thoughts about Reid that she doesn't think she should have. She would never hurt her sister by having a relationship with her ex. That is until she finds out the real reason the two of them broke up.

You will get to watch these two falling for each other over 8 holiday's and one birthday per Sadie 😉. This is a quick and fun read.

Thank you Erin Graves for giving me an early copy. Above is my honest review.

This was such a unique and fun concept for a holiday novella and I enjoyed every minute of it!

When Sadie Winslow and Reid Alexander see each other at a New Year's Eve party the only thing they feel is deep loathing. For Sadie, she can't stand the man that broke her sister's heart and for Reid, he doesn't want anything to do with another Winslow sister - the first one hurt him enough. However, fate has other plans as these two just keep running into each other, one holiday at a time, and those loathing feelings are turning into something else...a lot more like love.

I had so much fun with Reid and Sadie! Their tension was THICK, which is a testament to Erin's writing because the story has the characters together a grand total of nine days! Their chemistry was evident from the beginning, even if they were fighting it. I loved the little realizations that came with each meeting as they got to know the true versions of one another, not the ones that were mixed up in their past with Sadie's sister. This story was well developed with plenty of content without ever feeling rushed. It had heat, heart, a little angst, and an HEA, a truly satisfying holiday read!

Also, the Gage and Ava content had me so giddy! If you haven't read the Love in Ashford series you should, but it's not necessary for you to enjoy this novella!

Erin Graves has done it again! I swear this author can do no wrong in my book. Instead of the typical one holiday novella, Nine Holidays Falling spans all the special days in a year. It is the final book in the Love in Ashford Falls Series and can be read as a stand alone but be warned there will be spoilers from the other books in the series.

I loved the whole storyline of Nine Holidays Falling. It was so original!!! Sadie’s sister is Reid’s ex girlfriend and during their relationship he never looked at Sadie in any other than that…there is absolutely no cheating between the MCs in this book. When he first sees her several years after his break up…he sees her in a different light. Fast forward to each holiday throughout the year and these two keep running into each other. Reid learns Sadie is nothing like her sister, thankfully. Each run in exposes the truth about Sadie’s sister and how she treated Reid and real feelings begin between the two of them.

I know I say this about each book of Erin’s I read but Nine Holidays Falling is my favorite. The way Reid loves Sadie….it was so so sweet. Together they are unstoppable. Oh and the chemistry between Reid and Sadie!!!! Whew! They are explosive together!

Thank you to Erin Graves for the absolute honor of beta reading this book.

When I saw the social media post for this novella I started looking forward to it. I jumped right back into the Love in Ashford Falls world. I so enjoyed this story!

Sadie and Reid's journey captured my attention quickly! Sadie is the sister of Reid's ex-girlfriend. As these two continue to collide during the holidays it ignites so much more between them. Can Reid and Sadie take a chance on how they feel for one another?

I enjoyed getting to see Reid and Sadie be brought together throughout all the holidays. With Reid being Sadie's sister's ex I didn't know how everything was going to go with these two which got me even more into their story.

Sadie and Reid really got to know each other and fall which made me so happy! I enjoyed being along for the holidays with them. The chemistry and banter between them was so good! I felt many things with both Reid and Sadie.

It was fun to be back in Ashford Falls!

With Nine Holidays Falling, Ms.Graves has created such a good sister's ex-boyfriend romance that brought the holidays vibes, realness, spice, and feels! Definitely check it out during the holidays! I'm looking forward to reading what this author brings our way next! 💗

Check out the author's note about the content.

The premise is fun, built around holiday-themed chance encounters that give the story a charming, romcom energy. The dynamic between the leads is pretty clear—especially since we get both POVs—but there are moments where you feel a bit unmoored. This novella is a side-story within a larger series, and while it technically works as a standalone, you can still sense the bigger world humming beneath the surface. Mentions of past events, a funeral, or established couples are understandable, but you can tell these characters have fuller arcs somewhere else.

It also feels like there’s more to Summer and Reid’s past than we’re given—three years is a long stretch to gloss over. Still, Sadie and Reid are strong, likable characters, and you can’t help rooting for them. As a standalone reader, I enjoyed it, though I occasionally wished for a little more context (even if I’m not quite ready to dive into the full series yet).

Overall, it’s a cute romcom novella with just the right touch of steam, plenty of witty banter, and a satisfying happy ending. Highly recommend when you want something quick, fun, and heartwarming.

This is my first book from Erin Graves but I now am excited to get to go back to the beginning of her series and get to know more about some of these characters. This is Reid and Sadie’s story which is a sister’s ex boyfriend romance.

𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔: Reid Alexander & Sadie Winslow
𝑺𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: Ashford Falls, MD

I loved the way this story was told. It was told across the span of many holidays throughout the year and I really think that helped show how the relationship between Reid and Sadie developed. Reid was in a relationship with Sadie’s sister and when they broke up, they both had completely different versions of the story. Sadie’s sister depicted Reid to be the jerk who broke her heart so therefore Sadie hates Reid. But as they keep running into each other, Sadie is questioning what she thought was true. She sees a completely different side to Reid. Their chemistry and pull towards each other felt very authentic and I was really rooting for them to get their HEA. My only complaint would be that this wasn’t a full length novel, only because I wanted so much more from them, selfishly (not because it was needed)

This was such a cute holiday novella! I loved that it wasn’t only one holiday either! It was 8 holidays and a birthday!

Sadie and Reid’s story was so sweet and I loved how patient he was in order for her to see the real him. I’ve come to discover that I hate novellas because I always want so much more of the story 😂😂 just kidding, I don’t hate them. I do want more of the story though!

I loved how Erin set this up though! It was dual POV at each holiday and she stuck to that so well! It really worked for this!

Erin Graves brings together holiday sparkle and emotional depth in Nine Holidays Falling, a romance that thrives on the tension between perception and reality. Sadie and Reid begin their journey weighed down by assumptions—each convinced they already know who the other is. But as the holidays unfold, those walls of judgment start to crumble, revealing vulnerability, humor, and unexpected tenderness.

What makes this story stand out is the balance between festive fun and genuine stakes. The banter is sharp, the seasonal backdrops are cozy and vivid, and the gradual shift from skepticism to trust feels earned. One particularly gripping moment comes when Sadie finds herself in a frightening situation. Reid’s instinctive awareness that something is wrong cuts through all his indecisive feelings to being a pivotal point in the book for him.

This book reminds us love isn’t just about chemistry—it’s about seeing past our own biases, showing up when it matters most, and finding connection in the least expected places.

Book Review 4 ⭐️
Spice level : 2 🌶️

Firstly, I want to say Thank you to Erin Graves for the opportunity to get an ARC of this book!

There’s something irresistible about a romance built on old wounds and unresolved chemistry and Nine Holidays Falling delivers that energy on every single page.

Sadie and Reid don’t just have history… they have the kind of past you don’t talk about at family dinners. They carry old mistakes, what-ifs, and a close breakup that still stings in all the soft places.
So when fate throws them back into each others lives on New Year’s Eve of all nights .. it’s explosive in the “I should walk away but I physically cannot” kind of way.

Reid and Sadie’s connection is this perfect mix of tension, longing, regret, and sparks that feel a bit too dangerous to touch.

Every interaction is loaded.
Every glance says a little too much.
Every memory threatens to unravel them both.

Erin Graves balances that cozy holiday charm with emotional sharp edges.. You know the kind that cut just enough to make the healing sweeter.
The chemistry is strong, the angst hits exactly where it should, and the slow burn pull between them is the reason I inhaled this book in a very short time.

It’s holiday romance with grown up complications, real feelings, and the kind of simmering heat that sneaks up on you.

I adored it!!

The messy hearts, snowy nights, second chances and all. 💙

Nine Holidays Falling opens with Sadie Winslow running into Reid at a New Year's Eve party. She hates how intensely attracted she is to him, especially because he is her sister's manipulative, heart-breaking ex. Reid, however, has his own version of events from their breakup, but Sadie doesn't know that. She tries desperately to convince herself she has no interest in Reid and attempts to forget him.

However, fate has other plans!

From one holiday to the next, Sadie and Reid continue to accidentally run into each other, forcing them to confront their history and attraction.

During reading, it was obvious that other books about some of the side couples came first. I feel this can absolutely be read without reading the others first, but it did make me want to go back and read the other books, too!

This was a quick, short read that gave me major Holidate vibes! If you love a good Sister's Ex trope mixed with Forced Proximity over a series of holidays, you'll eat this up!

Thank you to the author for the ebook ARC. Release date 12/17.

Sweet (and spicy) novella! The characters in this book, Sadie and Reid, have known each other for years. Reid is Sadie’s sister’s ex boyfriend. That break up was messy and Sadie thinks Reid is to blame. Reid has no idea why Sadie hates him. Her sister broke his heart, after all, not the other way around. Throughout a year of holidays and chance encounters, Sadie realizes that Reid isn’t the rude arrogant cheater that her sister claimed he was. Reid realizes that Sadie isn’t the manipulator that her sister is. As they face the facts about one another, they each must also face the fact that they have unknowingly fallen in love and it might be too late for them. This was a fast read (it was a novella) and that’s one of the things I loved about it. Things moved at a fast past and issues were resolved quickly. There was good banter and good angst. When the spice hit, it combusted. Definitely an enjoyable book from start to finish!

What a delightful holiday novella! I absolutely loved Reid and Sadie - as a couple and as individual characters.

I think it's common with novellas to want more... to feel like there's room to add to it. However, I did not finish this novella feeling that way. Don't get me wrong.... I could easily (and happily) read a 300+ page book about these two haha. But I feel like Erin packed so much into this novella that it wasn't lacking anything. It has dual pov, angst, banter, tension, chemistry, conflict and resolution, and character growth. Erin truly did a phenomenal job with this novella💕.

While this book takes place over several holidays, it begins with New Year's and ends with Christmas. So it makes a great and quick holiday read perfect for the season.

** If you've read the Love in Ashford Falls series by Erin, we get a lot of Gage and Ava in this novella, which is such an added treat. I love those two and have missed them. It's nice to get more time with them.

This was such a great read! I loved the dynamics between the two MCs and their push and pull encounters. The MMc was so sweet and a true golden but very misrepresented in the eyes of our FMC. Their history keeps them at arms length for most of the book but the connection is undeniable. I loved how their feelings developed but were accompanied by their internal struggle to admit the attraction. For a fast read the pace of the book felt just right. The way it is spread out over months and holidays made the relationship feel less rushed and more genuine. So cute and the way abusive relationships were represented was really nice to see. It was forms of abuse that most don’t associate with in a relationship. so check the trigger if this uncomfortable for you. I received this as an arc and these are solely my reflections after reading. I enjoyed this and highly recommend if you are looking for a fun fast read.

Tropes:
Holiday Novella
Sister's Ex-Boyfriend
Small Town
Found Family
Misunderstood Character

This is a fantastically cozy holiday novella from Erin Graves! It starts out with Sadie and Reid running into each other. Sadie does not like Reid because he is her sister's ex, meanwhile Reid has had his eye on Sadie, even knowing how she feels about him. Throughout a series of holidays, their story and journey to friends to more is told and I could not get enough.

As Sadie keeps running into Reid at various events and friend's holidays, she finds that she might have been wrong about Reid and there is more that meets the eye. I loved seeing Sadie's inner thoughts as she fought with these conflicting ideas she had of Reid. Seeing her learn the truth and learn who Reid was deep inside had me swooning. And Reid, this man is so protective and caring and I loved seeing him show her who he was.

I loved seeing how they kept running into each other, through friends, family and the holiday events. There were mysteries and truths that they both needed to unravel, and I loved how Erin paced their story. There are some chapters I wish I had more, but as is the nature of novellas and shorter stories.

Thank you so much to Erin for an early copy of Nine Holidays Falling! I am excited to see where Erin takes us next.

I received and ARC copy of Nine Holidays and all thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

This was such a cute small town, sister’s ex, I loathe you to I love you, Holiday romance. And by Holiday, I mean all of them! Reid and Sadie’s love story is a slow burn.. drawn out by happenstance encounters over the course of a year at every holiday. Literally such a quick read, finished it jn just a few hours. But so cute. It can definitely be read as a standalone book, which is what I did, but it’s pretty obvious that the other characters have or will their own storylines and I’m totally here for it!

Some content warnings, there is mention of a toxic, mentally abusive relationship off page, a death that happens off page, and an on page attempt of being taken advantage of after being roofied, and 2 open door spicy scenes.

Nine Holidays Falling is a novella that starts with Sadie running into her sister's ex, Reid, at a party they're all at on New Year's Eve when he has the audacity to approach her after breaking her sister's heart years ago. While she should hate his guts, it's hard for her to deny the instant attraction and pull she feels toward him.

The story unfolds over the next nine holidays throughout the year and fate continuing to bring them into each other's orbits on those holidays, resulting in them getting to know one another. Much to Sadie's chagrin, she starts to see Reid beyond the asshole label she's previously given him.

Honestly, I know this is just a novella, but I could've easily read a full-length story of these two! I liked the back and forth between their POVs, as it gave depth to the story pretty quickly, which was great for a novella. This was my intro to Erin Graves and I really liked writing style. I'll definitely be putting her other books on my TBR.

Thank you to Erin for the ARC of this story for my own reading. All thoughts and opinions are my own!
