Mercury Raine #3

Mercury Raine: Twenty and One

Rate this book
Mercury Raine has spent his entire life surrounded by ghosts. Little about them can surprise him any longer. But when the Violet Giant, a ghost well over seven feet tall and built like a boulder, floats into his local pub, Mercury is as shocked as everyone else. And when the mysterious mountain of a specter knows Mercury at first glance, he is justifiably wary.

Mercury’s identity is a closely guarded secret. His past is a mystery even to himself. And, for the first time in his life, the fortifications around his heart have begun to crack. If he can make the Violet Giant one of his ghosts, the threat the phantom poses could be minimized. But few things, Mercury will soon discover, are at all what they seem, and what began as merely complicated may instead prove deeply dangerous.

It’s here! Another exciting installment in the Mercury Raine series! I adore this series. It’s so creative & unique. Mercury Raine: Twenty and One starts off right where the last book ended with Tacey trying to learn the art of ghost brokering. In an alternate universe of Victorian England, what matters to the ton is having the most fashionable ghost. Having multiple ghosts is a boon. Ghost broker Mercury Raine has a shadowy past, but one thing is for certain, he’s the most sought after when it comes to trading ghosts. After all, he has at least 20 ghosts tied to him. But, he protects his ghosts as carefully as his past & when that’s threatened he’ll do all he can to protect those who matter most.

When a couple arrives in town with a giant of a ghost, Mercury’s unsettled when the Violet Giant seems to know him immediately. Mercury must protect his true identity at all costs & this ghost definitely poses a new challenge. But, making this ghost one of his own proves more dangerous than imagined. As shocking secrets are revealed & one of those most dear to him is threatened, Mercury must decide if he’s willing to risk it all.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Not only are there several new twists, but I love the slow burn romance developing between Mercury & Tacey. Each subtle glance & touch reveals that there are more than friendly feelings between them. With each story, a new nugget of Mercury’s past is discovered & I’ve enjoyed adding another piece to his complicated puzzle. The lighthearted humor & delightful eccentricities of all the endearing ghosts add to the charm. The story definitely ends on a cliffhanger & I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

If you’re a fan of sweet romance, delightfully fun ghost stories, witty humor, & a touch of spookiness, you’ll adore this story & series. Highly recommend reading the books in order as each one builds upon the last. I received an advanced copy from the author but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

The Mercury Raine series by Sarah M. Eden reads like I would imagine a serial would in a newspaper back in these historical times. A man surrounded by ghosts with large and distinct personalities and abilities; A man with secrets in his past that he wants to keep hidden; A woman escaping her life to train as a ghost broker; and mysterious people and ghosts who randomly make appearances with questionable intent. The plot definitely thickens with this installment and I gasped as it ended.

Eden vividly brings these characters, both alive and unalive, into existence with her words, and I find deeper connection and meaning to so many of them as the layers are peeled back more and more with each story. New realizations are discovered and secrets are revealed, and I can’t help but devouring and binging each new episode.

If you enjoy a fresh take on a Regency story, one full of endearing ghosts, glints of mystery and suspense, and hints of romance, this is a series for you!

Twenty and one stars for this series and this latest installment in the bigenable Mercury Raine series!

The book starts off with the ominous appearance of a giant ghost at a local pub. The Violet Giant’s appearance is unsettling to all, but no more so than to Mercury. The giant knows Mercury by sight, though they’ve never met- which isn’t a good sign considering all the secrets Mercury is trying to keep. In a desperate attempt to keep said secrets secret, Mercury invites the ghost and the Vanns to his home. Mercury always finds a solution, always stays calm, but this time, he isn’t sure he has what it takes to hold onto the fraying edges of the world that he’s built.

Wow! At the beginning of the book, I enjoyed a sort of nostalgic, cozy comfort of returning to the Mercury Raine world. I expected the book to be a sort of repeat of the previous two, but with a new ghost. But then the plot started ramping up, ending with several fantastic and wildly engaging plot twists. The cliff hanger at the end is breathtaking and left me scrambling to get my hands on the next book (I just can’t wait!!)

I don’t want to say much more to avoid spoilers, so suffice it to say that this latest installment was creative, compelling, and completely deserving of praise. We get some very light hints of romance with Miss Wilde, as with the previous books, but Mercury’s story and his ghosts take center stage. With every book, I’m rooting for Mercury all the more.

I recommend starting at the beginning of this series rather than this book to get the full experience. Fall in love with the mysterious Mercury Raine today!!

"How was it her company had so quickly become a refuge for him?"

Twenty and One by Sarah M Eden

Have you started this series yet? If not, what are you doing with your life? Haha!
I LOVED this third book in this series. The slow burn romance, the mystery surrounding Mercury Raine, and the new characters and ghosts introduced had me entranced from the first page right up until the last sentence.

Woah, what a ride! I couldn't put it down. I loved the conversations between Mercury and Tacey. That one moment (I won't go into specifics because SPOILER) was my favorite part so far.

Also, I really need book 4! Cannot wait to see where it takes us next and where this series as a whole goes.
This series is bingeable, especially the audio narrated by THE DUKE of Kielder aka Jake Stormoen. He does such an amazing job at the narration for this series.

I highly recommend grabbing the audiobook and the e-book for each book, just so you can follow along as you listen.
Also, if you hadn't heard yet, each book is about 100-120 pages long, making them easy to read in less than a day! I relistened to both books 1 and 2 all in one day because they are so short and fun.

Favorite Parts:
Budding romance
New Ghosts introduced
Invisible ghost
Violet Giant
Mystery
The Ending!

Sexual Content: Clean-hand touching, feelings of attraction
Violence/gore: Mild-kidnapping, a ghost can decapitate his own head (no gore described)

Another fantastic segment! This story just keeps getting more and more intriguing. I am absolutely hooked, and truly don’t know how I am supposed to wait for the next one.
Our narrator Jake Stormeon continues to amaze me with his unending variety of voices. It is a full cast that he has to do, and he knocks it out of the park. I will continue to get each audio, because they are so incredible!!

I highly recommend listening, and also getting a copy of the books!! This is by far my favorite Sarah M Eden series that she has released in the last bit! She has so many good ones, but this one is so captivating and fun!!

I received a digital copy of the book in advance. All opinions given are freely done and my own.

Here is another wonderful installment in the Mercury Raine series. I love the intrigue and mystery of these stories and the slow unfolding of those mysteries.

I enjoy getting to know more about Mercury and his ghosts in each story. It is also fun to learn more about the ghosts in this world. The Violet Giant is a new ghost we meet in this story and knows something about Mercury that even he doesn't know about himself. There is also, unknown to Mercury, danger afoot.

This is the 3rd book in the Mercury Raine series and most definitely would best be read in order.

Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This installment in the Mercury Raine series was utterly delightful!

The premise for this novella is unlike any I’ve ever read before. The idea of ghosts that are attached randomly to people in a friendly way makes for such a unique foundation for the story. I love that in this world, the ghosts are by and large incredibly friendly and supportive, albeit with their own quirks, much as people are in reality.

Mercury and Tacey are both such interesting characters. As the reader, I know enough about both to love each character and be very invested, but balanced with enough mystery to keep me intrigued. Both have secrets - Mercury clearly has a lot we have yet to learn! - and it’s intriguing to wonder on and try to predict. The cast of ghosts is fabulous as well. Each has their own fully developed personality and quirks and it’s fascinating to see how the ghosts interact with one another and the humans throughout the story.

There were some excellent twists in this novella; I had several moments where the characters/events totally surprised me. I won’t include any spoilers, but I will say that I’m very impatient for the next novella in the series to release!

Jake Stormoen narrates this story perfectly. It’s clear he enjoys the story and understands the characters well!

Thank you to the author for the gifted audiobook; all opinions are my own.

••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

~Mercury Raine has spent his entire life surrounded by ghosts. Little about them can surprise him any longer.
But when the Violet Giant, a ghost well over seven feet tall and built like a boulder, floats into his local pub, Mercury is as shocked as everyone else. And when the mysterious mountain of a specter knows Mercury at first glance, he is justifiably wary...

““AT SOME POINT, MERCURY RAINE, YOU WILL HAVE TO TRUST SOMEONE, BE IT GHOST OR HUMAN.
AS ENORMOUS AND DANGEROUS AS THIS CLEARLY IS, IF YOU TRY TO CARRY IT ENTIRELY ALONE, I FEAR IT WILL EVENTUALLY DESTROY US ALL.”

-Mercury Raine: Twenty and One, is the third delightful installment in the thrilling Mercury Raine Series. It will not disappoint, whatsoever! My goodness, my friends, this story is packed full of such intrigue, mystery, and charm. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat, deliciously savoring each part that came along. Just when I think I am onto the next clue piece, there are a number of unexpected twists and turns. Oh my, does the plot thicken and bubble about within. I adored how my jaw was open more times than not, and I cannot wait for the next installment to come! WOW, what an exciting rollercoaster of feels and depth but, with nothing to be scared about! I love how this book has such an immersive, imaginative, and vivid setting, where I am pleasantly and I expectantly surprised along the way. I love how dear characters have the ability to charm, humor, and intrigue me! This is a series to be enjoyed in order. So worth the read, for sure!🏻📚💯

•Content: Mild peril-kidnapping, a ghost can decapitate his own head (no gore described), no language, sparks of feelings of attraction; clean, closed-door!

-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

📚✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨📚
Title: Mercury Raine: Twenty and One
Series: Mercury Raine, Book 3 by Sarah M. Eden
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📝 My Thoughts:
This installment raises the stakes as Mercury's carefully constructed life of wealth and respect, built on a foundation of secrets and "half-truths" begins to unravel. I loved seeing the growth in Tacey Wilde as Mercury continues her training to become a ghost broker. The introduction of the Vanns and their mysterious, towering "Violet Giant" ghost adds a layer of suspicion and tension that kept me hooked. It is definitely part of a series; while it offers a recap of the world-building, it flows directly from the previous books and ends on a high-stakes cliffhanger that makes reading them in order essential.

💖 Why I Loved It:
The "found family" at Aventine Manor remains the heart of the series. Seeing Mercury's deep protective streak for his twenty ghosts especially the sweet, sleepy Baby Blue is so moving. The romantic tension between Mercury and Tacey is building beautifully; he finally admits to himself that he considers her a friend (and perhaps more), and holding her hand feels like "coming home" to him.

🔖 Favorite Quote:
"Being together makes everything better even when it isn’t all good."

📌 Final Verdict:
A masterpiece of "cozy-mystery-turned-thriller!" I would recommend this to anyone who loves sweet Regency romance with a paranormal twist. If you enjoy the "hidden identity" trope and "found family" dynamics, this series is for you. Be warned: the ending is a total "make-it-or-break-it" moment that has left me absolutely desperate for the next book! I am counting down the minutes until I can get my hands on the next chapter of Mercury's story to see how he navigates these new threats.

"At some point, Mercury Raine, you will have to trust someone, be it ghost or human. As enormous and dangerous as this clearly is, if you try to carry it entirely alone, I fear it will eventually destroy us all."

I love me some ghosts and this was just plain fun! This novella is the 3rd installment in a fantastically fun series. It’s inspired by the Penny Dreadfuls… so it’s a quick release novella series where we will get shorter installments close together & the entire series will released in a period of a year. Set in Victorian England where ghosts are all the rage. Mercury Raine is the most sought after ghost broker in all the kingdom, with more ghosts than anyone knows and more secrets than one person should have. And those secrets are coming to haunt him. So when the Violet Giant, a ghost well over seven feet tall and built like a boulder shows up in a local pub & knows Mercury at a glance… Mercury realizes he needs to find out what this ghost actually knows about him. Not only is Mercury unsettled by the arrival of the Violet Giant but so are his ghosts. Everything isn’t what it seems & danger is lurking around every corner. It’s a unique world full of interesting ghosts, intrigue, a bit of mystery & I can’t wait to see where this story goes. I seriously loved this installment & it left us on a bit of a cliff hanger so I’m dying for the next installment which will release in May. 🤗 I also was lucky enough to get my hands on the audio which I loved! Jake Stormoen is a fantastic narrator & because it’s a novella it’s a quick listen 🎧 I can’t recommend this series enough but you definitely need to start at the beginning.

The Brief: Mercury Raine is a ghost broker and gets thrown when an unknown massive ghost calls him by name. Of course he must invite him and his peeps to dinner.

The Debrief: Get your snacks ready for another unexpected episode in the continuing saga of Mercury Raine. I loved going back to this oddly comforting space where each ghost just fits right in the living room popping in and out of walls. Like I make a scene when a spider drops from the ceiling, but I stepped right into this story totally content. But then things got suspenseful and now I have questions.

I’d start from the beginning but you could drop in here and enjoy the journey of brokering ghost trades and the society they wander through. No spoilers, but it’s just such a fun unique plot and Mercury lovably mysterious. I HIGHLY recommend the audio by the bookstagrammed famous @jakestormoen (yeah yeah I know he’s legit but can we claim him?) He does a great job with all the different characters and gives the ghosts life. Yep. I said it. Totally recommend this binge worthy series that will leave you wanting more immediately.

The Rhyme: Mercury is anxious to settle the indescribable vibes hovering in his home and keep training Tracey. When requests start to feel threatening can he keep everyone safe when things get dicey?

Advanced listeners copy. My own thoughts. No creepy ghosts. More like if the conversations in your head showed up in ghost form like a comfy couch. Except Violet Giant is well. Big. And sometimes so are my thoughts.

Okay- you all know that I am not a ghost or scary book fan. While this IS a ghost book series, there is nothing scary about it. They are so fun and original- think Regency/Victorian era with a magical twist being ghosts that are 'attached' to people. Not only that, it is very fashionable to have them, and if you have more than one attachment, you are obviously more fashionable. You can trade ghosts for one that is has traits that are particularly 'in' that season- and that is where Mercury Raine- Ghost Broker comes in. He has several- few know actually how many. But that is about to change.

They are short, absolutely warm and enjoyable, and you just feel happy after reading them. Mercury and his ghosts are like one big happy family. There have been hints (or hopes?) of a future romance, and this installment really ups the intensity and mystery. I am SO glad that the 4th will be coming soon- that ending had me yelling "Noooo.... don't leave me hanging!"

“But we’re all together,” Baby Blue said. “Being together makes everything better even when it isn’t all good.”

If you have not started this series yet I would seriously consider doing so. Yesterday. The audiobooks are absolutely delicious. I listened to the first one after reading it and now need to hear them all. The voices for each ghost, the timber of the voice.... just perfection. I can't wait to hear this one as well.

Thanks to the author for the ebook for my review.

Content:

Profanity: None.

Violence: Mild. BIG SPOILER

Sexual: Mild. Hand holding with intwined fingers and talk of being attached.

Me reading this latest installment:

20 pages in: Oh fun we get new scenery!

40 pages in: This is not going how the first two went. I'm aprehensive.

60 pages in: Okay, the foreboding feelings right now may kill me.

90 pages in: *internal screaming*.

My goodness gracious sakes alive! I have to wait until MAY for the next bit of story? After that ending?! GAH. (yes, it is a cliffhanger)

To calm myself I tried naming all the ghosts we've been introduced to thus far. I got 15.

But truly, this was fantastic, I just wasn't ready for the upswing in tension and plot! This wasn't the cozy of the last two books. The stakes have been upped dramatically and while I'm excited I'm also feeling all the trepidation. My vested interest in how this all goes down is at about, oh, 1000%.

The Violet Giant was a fascinating ghost, and seeing a few more new ghosts of Mercury's was fun. Getting more ghost lore was exciting! And the relationship between Mercury and Tacey growing (slow burns are my jam) made me happy dance in my seat.

I'd say I cannot wait to see what happens, but alas...I shall have to.

At least I can go grab the audiobook in the meantime and listen to it and the first two on loop for the next two months.

I can't believe I was hesitant to read this series when I first heard about it, because now I'm hooked and I can't wait for the next installment. This is book #3 and the stakes are higher than ever for Mercury Raine!

The Violet Giant is such an unsettling addition. A massive, imposing specter who recognizes Mercury instantly without ever meeting him!! The moment he appears, you can feel everything shift. Mercury has always been the one in control, the one who understands ghosts better than anyone else. But this time, he’s the one being watched. And that tips the balance in a way that feels dangerous.

What really got me is Mercury himself. His identity is so closely guarded and for the first time, we’re seeing real cracks in that armor. He’s always kept his heart fortified and slightly distant. But with Tacey, that distance is shrinking. Their partnership is getting deeper, and there’s a quiet undercurrent that makes even the smallest exchanges between them feel important.

I had a bad feeling the entire time I was reading but I was NOT ready for that ending!!! What a cliffhanger! This series would've made a great penny dreadful series in Victorian times. I've already pre-ordered the next book so it will automatically download to my Kindle, because I cannot wait.

This series needs to be read in order, as each book builds on the story.

So intriguing and mysterious!!

I absolutely loved this third installment of the Mercury Raine series. If I had to describe it in one sentence, it would be: The plot thickens!

The first two books set the stage for this fascinating world of ghost brokers and spirits, but in this installment the mystery and intrigue deepen significantly. The story delivers multiple twists that genuinely had my jaw dropping.

I’m especially enjoying the growing tension between Mercury and Tacey, and the cast of side characters - many of whom are ghosts! - continues to add charm, humor, and intrigue to the story.

These Victorian-era novellas form one continuous story set in an immersive and imaginative world. Each book pulls me further in, keeps the pages turning, and leaves me counting down the days until the next release.

And don’t be frightened off by the word ghosts! These books are far more mysterious than scary.

If you enjoy historical fiction or historical romance and are looking for something fresh, atmospheric, and a little bit magical, this series is absolutely worth picking up. Absolutely love them!

Let me tell you—if you have reservations about this series, just pick up the first book and they’ll all be laid to rest! I’m absolutely hooked and CAN’T WAIT to find out what happens next.

Mercury Raine lives in a regency era world where ghosts are companions—companions that elevate one’s social standing if you have the right one. He trades ghosts for a living, helping people find their ideal friend. But he’s hiding his own secrets, ones he hasn’t spoken out loud to anyone, but somehow….the ghosts know. Not all of them, but some of them. He must figure out who to trust if he wants to protect them all.

Ah, I just bulldozed through this whole book! There’s so much delicious intrigue and unknown. The ghosts have hilarious and endearing quirks and personalities. Mercury’s trying to figure out if he can trust Tracey…and if he should tell her why he really needs her there. She’s stirring his heart and no one has done that before.

✨ Gems ✨
The witty banter
Tacey ♥️
Nighttime ghost visits 😂

This clean & wholesome historical mystery is TOP-NOTCH! There were so many exciting twists I did NOT see coming!

Sarah Eden has created the most delightful regency world in which some people are born with ghostly attachments. Different personalities of ghosts are more or less “in fashion” in society, so ghost-brokers help people swap for more “fashionable” ghosts to boost social standing. Enter Mercury Raine - the ghost broker.

This paranormal series is not creepy in the least. The ghosts are just like any other human characters, with a variety of charming and heart-warming personalities. They dance, they play croquet, and they just also happen to walk through walls.

And there is a touch of romance… very, very, very slow burn. It is genuinely the sweetest. I can’t wait to watch it unfold. 🤗

This is the third installment in the series but never fear! Each novella in the series is about a two hour read, so you can easily enjoy one in an evening.

AND the audiobooks are the BEST I’ve ever heard. Narrated by the talented Jake Stormeon, they are absolutely delightful..

Yes! It is totally appropriate for kids and family. No spice, no profanity, and very wholesome.

I just wrapped up the next little lovella in the Mercury Raine series, this third installment by Sarah M. Eden is just as curious and whimsical as the first two stories in the series!

This novella continues to shine a spotlight on the clever, mysterious ghost broker Mercury Raine, who’s spent his life surrounded by the spirits no one else can see! And just when he thought he’d seen it all, an enormous ghost known as the Violet Giant steps into the scene with even more information and secrets that Mercury wants to keep hidden!

What I loved most about this book (and let's be honest, this series) is just how original and imaginative it feels! The worldbuilding is just as quirky and delightful as before, with eerie yet charming ghosts, intriguing secrets from Mercury’s past, and enough suspense to make you flip pages! Even though the mystery wraps up nicely, there’s a hint of something deeper bubbling beneath the surface that makes you so ready for the next one! This series really knows how to keep the excitement alive!

✨Audio Review✨

👻Mercury Raine: Twenty and One by @sarah_m_eden
👻Mercury Raine, Book 3
👻Narrated by @jakestormoen (absolutely fantastic! Ahh! So well done. So many different characters! Perfectly executed)

Sigh. What a delight to revisit this spectacular series! Every book throws in mystery and surprises, but this one sent me reeling! Diving deeper means more is at stake.

I don’t do scary and this series poses more as a cozy mystery. Wit, banter, and plenty of unique happenings. There is a very slow romance brewing. There are so many unique ghosts so many personalities having to coexist. These ghosts feel like actual characters, and obviously they are, but that’s why the vibe isn’t scary.

…Until we get introduced to a giant of a ghost and Jake’s voice for him actually has you looking behind you in worry.

That ending.

Don’t miss out on this spectacular series. Completely original and uniquely captivating. I’m so excited for the next installment.

Still Loving This Series!

I’m completely enjoying the Mercury Raines series! Waiting two and a half months for the next installment though, is gonna be rough. The characters are so fun and she somehow makes the ghosts in this series completely believable too. I was a little hesitant at first to start a book about a “Ghost Broker” because I don’t love horror or paranormal fiction, as a general rule. These books are so lighthearted though and the ghosts are more like friends and family who just can’t touch others and who can randomly float through the walls, or even the ceilings. This series is much more historical fiction with a small magical realism twist though and it’s well worth your time. Sarah M. Eden is knocking another genre out of the park while still staying true to what long time readers will expect from her books.

I am seriously addicted to the Mercury Raine series! Mercury Raine Twenty and One was SO good.
Patterned after the Penny Dreadfuls of the Victorian Era, which Sarah introduced me to through her “The Dread Penny Society” series, these short stories are her fresh take on the concept and set up in a serial fashion making each a quick read and bite sized story full of adventure and mystery. They are seriously so fun and I am obsessed.
In Twenty and One, a mysterious couple with a memorable ghost show up in Mercury’s town. After he invites them to his home, everyone is thrown off kilter leaving Mercury questioning his otherwise sound judgment. I have so many questions from that ending and what an ending it was. The fourth installment cannot come soon enough.
If you haven’t checked these fun novellas out yet, I highly recommend picking them up. They are best read in order.

Wow, this series has wholly captivated me! This book 3 brought a new aspect to Mercury Raine and I have become even more enthralled with the story than before! Just like the other books (novellas) in the series, it ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to wait for the next installment... or just wait until the entire series comes out before you engage in reading them. I was left with not only a sense of suspense, but also one of hopeful excitement that pulls me straight towards the next book to be released in May. May can't come soon enough to read more about not only Mercury but also Tacey & all the ghosts! My favorite ghosts continue to be The Scholar & Baby Blue. And this title has added great admiration for ghost number twenty-one!

I really enjoyed this new installment in The Mercury Raine novella series!

This series is very unique, exciting, interesting and you slowly get little bits and pieces of the story which always leaves me wanting to read more!

Exciting things happen in this book. There are new characters to meet, new feelings to explore, new discoveries, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!!!

I really love Tacey and Mercury so much! The possible blooming romance between them is my favorite! The ghosts are also really fun to get to know.

The setting and feel of this story is very atmospheric, and the ghosts make it even more so! The ghosts are not scarry or spooky, but feel more like family.

I always look forward to getting more of Mercury’s past, and I can already tell the next book is going to be sooo good! That ending had me reeling.

This is such a clever, mysterious, and intriguing to no end series, and I loved reading this book!

Available tomorrow!🪭

I loved this audio book so much! The narrator Jake Stormoen does such a great job with the voices. It's just so well done.

I love Mercury Raine and his ghosts. They all have their own personalities that are so well done. I definitely related to his ghosts not wanting to be dragged to town at the beginning of this one. They just want to stay home in their own element.

The mystery continues in this book. What ghosts are coming for Mercury. What are their goals? And how will Mercury know who they are in time to stop whatever they have planned?

This one is a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next installment in May. I need to know what happens to Mercury and his ghosts!

I am giving this series so far 3 stars because it’s a good story, but it could have been a four or five if not for the completely unnecessary division into however many novellas when it should be one solid novel. It is extremely frustrating. There isn’t enough going on in each “book” to justify it; what we get is a load of rehashing the main points in each installment, padding out what should have been a couple chapters in a proper novel. What is the point of this? I hope this isn’t going to be a new publishing trend.

my👏 favorite 👏 Mercury👏 Raine👏 yet. I was on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. I was constantly trying to guess what was about to happen, why these side characters seemed sketchy, how yet ANOTHER ghost seems to know everything about this man, etc, etc, etc. By the end of it I was enthralled can’t BELIEVE I have to wait for the next book. That ending was absolutely stellar and I will be thinking about it at least until further notice.

Aahhh!! So good!! Book 4 of Mercury Raine. Published like old time penny dreadful stories, we read about the continuation of Mercury Raine and his efforts to keep his secrets and protect his ghosts. Leaving on another cliffhanger, I am so eager for the next book in May!
