The deal was simple. Marry the cowboy. Pretend to be in love. Go our separate ways when the twelve months are up. What could possibly go wrong?
I’ve spent the last year simply trying to survive but the massive amount of debt to my name and a bar on the brink of collapse, I’m quickly running out of options. The last thing I expect is to be offered an out by Sunstone Ridge's most eligible bachelor. Roman Knight is small town royalty. Rich. Powerful. Untouchable. And as desperate as I am. He needs a wife, and I need money, what could possibly go wrong by making a deal to marry the cowboy with his own reasons to never fall in love? It’s only twelve months; we both get what we need from it and at the end, we go our separate ways. We both swear this thing is temporary and I told myself I could get through it, that I wouldn’t fall in love, but the more time I spend on the ranch and with him, the more Roman starts to knock down my carefully constructed walls. But the foundations we’re balancing on are delicate and getting close to him comes with risks. One thing I know for sure though, is that secrets don’t stay buried, and when ghosts from Roman’s past come back to haunt him, it’s me who gets caught in the crossfire.

5⭐️ 3🌶️ 🔥Cowboy Romantic Suspense 🔥Marriage of Convenience 🔥Forced Proximity 🔥He Falls First 🔥Obsessed MMC 🔥Found Family 🔥Dual First Person POV
There’s not much better than a swoon worthy cowboy romance with some suspense. This has all the ingredients for the best fake (but not for long) marriage of convenience, he needs a wife and she needs help. Roman Knight has lived and worked on his family ranch his whole life, with the intent to take over after his grandfather. Except, he just found out that his grandfather slipped a clause into his will that Roman has to get marrried to inherit. Niamh is overwhelmed with grief and crippling debt. She lost her father a year ago and is drowning in medical debt. Now she is about to lose the bar she opened with him. Niamh has been going to Knight Falls to swim every morning because it’s the only place she can find peace. It just so happens to be the one place where Roman goes to clear his head. Their first meeting leaves an impression on Roman. He decides she’s perfect and has his brother find everything there is to know about her. When he finds out about her debt he decides to approach her with a contract, he’ll pay of her debt if she marries him. Roman has never wanted to marry or be in a relationship and thinks that she’ll be perfect because he thinks she despises him and doesn’t actually want anything from him. There is nothing fake about their chemistry and in the quiet moments on the ranch their walls start to crumble. For someone who was so against the marrriage Roman sure falls fast and head first in love with Niamh. Roman is the definitive green flag growly and possessive cowboy. The things he said to Niamh had me swooning. Niamh is guarded, she doesn’t want to get hurt when this is all over. Roman is patient and says all the right things and shows her she can trust him. Roman’s past comes back endangering Niamh, forcing them even closer. This sweet and swoony romance has spice that is worth the slow burn. I was feeling all the feels, giggling, swooning, with suspense that had me on the edge of my seat. Add in an adorable kitten, sassy best friend, a hilarious family dynamic and you have a heartfelt romance.

A Few Favorite Quotes: “Well, that was a throwback. This is a little less Beauty and the Beast though and more delusional cowboy using money to fix all his problems.”
“Careful, sweetheart,” He rasps. “Keep looking at me like that and I might let you kiss me again.”
“Say you want me, sweetheart, and I’ll give you it. All of it.” “But this is pretend,” I squeak. “Not for me.” His whiskey eyes drop to my lips, and I watch the bump in his throat bob as he swallows. “Not anymore.”
“You ask, and I’ll give you anything you want.” “I don’t want anything,” I breathe. “Then want me,” The plea in his tone makes my knees shake, “Need me. Have me.”
“Show them you own me in every way. Take my name, take my heart, take all of me.”
#Review: *Say You Need Me* - Ria Wilde - ARC [18+] 4.9/5✨ 3/5🌶️
Roman has received a pretty big and upsetting news regarding his chance to inherit the family farm. He had to get married in order to accomplish his grandfather's wish. But Roman had no plans of doing so. How can he find a way to check that requirement? Well, serendipity made Roman and Niamh's paths cross and maybe something can work out in the end. But the close proximity to the grumpy cowboy will come with an unknown danger for Niamh, which will be quite difficult to fight against.
I simply adooore Ria's writing style and the way she creates the most captivating stories and characters. This book had me immersed into this story from the first page until the end, loving that unknown suspense and that evil which was lurking around. Even if all has started as a marriage of convenience, you could feel that tension which present between them even before that part happened. I liked that, in the beginning, neither of them thought that there could be more between them when everything started with that marriage, but the close proximity did something to them and slowly changed everything. That's how our man would soon become the sweetest protector and a man obsessed with his new wife.
All I can say is that this book is a must read, especially if you are a fan of another author, more precisely Catherine Cowles, who mixes romance and suspense so well in her stories. Ria is just as talented as her and I truly recommend her books, loving so much her writing style 🩵.
Thank you Ria so much for accepting me to be part of your ARC team for this one and for offering me this beautiful e-copy🫶🏼.

This was a super sweet insta love romance. Our MMC Roman was so amazing, rounding up just for him. He's all in almost immediately and never let's Niamh think otherwise or have any doubts. Oh and he's a cowboy 🥰
I was needing something exactly like this after my 20+ Shadowhunters book series 😅😅
-marriage of convenience -insta lust/love -MY WIFE -possessive/protective mmc -banter -cowboy / ranch owner -small town -he falls first/ harder -no OW -OM- a guy wants to take her on a date / is a little flirty with her. She never leads him on. -both experienced and never loved in the past/never wanted to. We don't meet any ex hook up of theirs or any really mention of past hookups -HEA- they get real married
“This may have started as temporary, but I plan to make it permanent, sweetheart. I’ll wait however long it takes, but one day, you’ll say the words, but I don’t mind saying them for us both. I need you, Niamh.”
Hot cowboy✔️romantic suspense✔️marriage of convenience✔️The way I loved this book! It was emotionally heavy, intense, suspense that had me on the edge of my seat, and spice that absolutely delivered!
Roman is a gorgeous, broody, closed off ranch owner cowboy. He’s forced into marriage to keep the only thing he’s loved his family’s ranch. Niamh is drowning in grief and debt after losing her father and struggling to keep his bar going. But when Roman offers her a contract marriage to pay off her debt things start turning into something raw and real.
The tension and banter is perfection. The burn is slowwwwww but man when it hits it hits and it was so freaking good! This man was perfection and he was a certified dirty talker and I was here for it🫠Watching these two who were terrified of love, slowly chose each other was everything!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Romance suspense Marriage of convenience Slow burn He falls first Forced proximity My wife
This releases on Feb 5th you’ll def want to go preorder this one! Cant wait for book 2! Thank you Ria Wilde for this ARC!
This book was one of the best ones I’ve read in a while! There was good excitement, good plot development, good spice, good romance…it checked all my boxes! Ria especially had an excellent way with descriptions of the characters to where it wasn’t overly complicated and detracted from the story but it gave you a vivid picture of what each person looked and felt like when you met them. (Though it felt like every chapter from Niamh’s POV I was reading about Roman’s “whiskey eyes” 😂).
Some of my favorite lines: “You ask, and I’ll give you anything you want.” “I don’t want anything,” I breathe. “Then want me,” the plea in his tone makes my knees shake, “Need me. Have me.”
“So fucking pretty when you fall apart for me, sweetheart.”
Roman and Niamh have a special place in my heart, I love a capable FMC, she is so strong on her own and I adore that Roman adds to her strength!
This book made me cry, the feelings dealing with grief really got me, and when a book can make me laugh, tear up, and is also one I can’t put down, while also being steamy?! Instant 5🌟 for me!
I cannot wait for the rest of the brother’s stories! In particular I’m so excited for Remy’s 🤭
Ria is in her cowboy romance era and I am absolutely here for it🤭.
Where do I begin with this story other than saying yes it is a cowboy romance but it has another one of my all time favourite tropes and that is the marriage of convenience trope.
Our MMC Roman is due to inherit the family family after the passing of his grandfather but there’s one catch - he must marry within 30 days or the farm will go to his brother but his brother doesn’t want it as his life is already consumed loving and caring for his two kids, meanwhile Romans heart and soul has been put into the farm. Similar to Roman our FMC Niamh also has a problem on her hands - While Niamhs father was alive she took care of his medical billing no matter what but now after his passing she finds herself in financial situation where she could lose it all especially her dads bar.
I think you can connect the dots from here, but before the prospects of marriage is even put on the table our couple actually first meet when Roman finds Niamh swimming on the ranch. Niamh found a calmness in swimming as it took her mind off her problems and she had been doing this for months and this was the only time that someone interrupted her 😂. While Roman thought Niamh looked familiar he didn’t realise who until he went to her bar soon after.
When Roman offers the proposal she is completely stunned and initially she refuses but she decides it’s only 12 months they must stay together and in the end they’ll both get what they want right? Well neither Niamh nor Roman didn’t expect something to blossom from this entirely. It was adorable how Roman’s brothers accepted Niamh as family and not only that his niece and nephews adored her 😭🥹
Niamh had high walls up from the very start as she wanted to protect herself and I get that. Roman was similar but his walls feel at a much more rapid pace and he came to enjoy Niamh being his wife, and let’s just say this man certainly didn’t fail to drop a “my wife” anywhere he could. He was possessive and obsessed with her and oh my when Niamh was in danger it was a whole new level of “Nothing matters except for my wife”. I loved that this feeing was completely mutual as Niamh was also possessive and protective of Roman🤭
I don’t want to give too much away but overall I absolutely loved this book - the plot kept me on the edge of my seat with a few twists and turns, the overall couple I absolutely loved. I cannot wait for more on the Knight brothers in the near future. Thank you so much to the author who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts.
This follows Roman, whose grandfather has passed away, leaving a clause in his will that requires Roman to marry quickly to keep the ranch. That’s when he meets a mysterious woman who keeps trespassing on his land to swim. Niamh is grieving the loss of her father and struggling to stay afloat. Drawn together what could go wrong and at what cost?
It’s so good to be back reading another Ria Wilde book. I loved the romantic suspense element, especially how Niamh is quietly struggling with the loss of her father while trying to keep the bar running. She carries so much on the inside and isn’t one to openly express her emotions, which made her journey feel emotional. I really enjoyed watching her slowly open up throughout the story, especially with the help of the grumpy cowboy Ronan.
Ronan gives off strong gruff, closed-off vibes but in the most delicious way. He’s fiercely protective of his family and the people he loves, and that side of him completely won me over. Their first interaction perfectly set the tone for the book, and from there the chemistry only grew stronger. Add in the delicious spice and a suspenseful plot woven through the romance, and this was such an enjoyable read.
I only want to mention a few minor things. I did end up guessing who was behind the suspense plot, so I wasn’t shocked or surprised by the other characters’ involvement. There were also a couple of scenes that felt a little short. For example, when Ronan went with her to the falls one of the times. Within a paragraph she was in and out of the water so quickly it moved on to the next scene. It seemed like a quick filler or honestly didn’t need to be there. That said, these are small, personal preferences and didn’t take away too much from my overall enjoyment.

I’m so in love with these two! The amount of love between Roman and Niamh had me blushing hard. The connection between these two was intense and passionate. The suspense element was perfectly placed and kept me intrigued.
Roman Knight is the perfect definition of a southern cowboy. He’s broody, possessive, and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. This man knew no bounds when it came to loving and protecting Niamh. He absolutely adored every little thing about her. The filthy mouth was just an added bonus because wow 🥵
Niamh is a bada$$ woman who refuses to let someone boss her around. She’s feisty, independent, and doesn’t back down from protecting those she loves. Her and Roman burned so hot for each other from the beginning. She became such an anchor for Roman that was beautiful to watch unfold.
What a cowboy romance this was! Marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and a delicious loathe-to-love journey—honestly, what more could you ask for? 🥰
Roman and Niamh were absolutely adorable. They’re both a little broken in their own ways, and it was so beautiful watching them slowly realise they needed each other to heal and find happiness again. Their connection felt natural, emotional, and so easy to fall in love with as a reader.
This book had the perfect mix of romance, spice, mystery, and unexpected plot twists that kept things exciting and kept me turning the pages.
It was such a fun, engaging read, and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series and get to know all the Knight brothers. I loved it!
Tropes: 🤍 Marriage of Convenience 🤍 Forced Proximity 🤍 “My Wife” Energy 🤍 Cowboy MMC 🤍 Small-Town Montana 🤍 Romantic Suspense
Ria, Ria, Ria…. • Thank you for creating the most perfect cowboy romance I’ve had the pleasure of discovering. 😭 Thank you for the ARC opportunity; I’ll make it my personal mission to yap about this with everyone I know. I’m not a re-reader but if I was, I’d almost certainly start here!! • The tension, the banter, the suspense, the spice, the devotion, the MAN THAT ROMAN IS. 🔥 Good Lord, even the “where is my wife?!” trope was executed so perfectly. • If you’re looking for the perfect cowboy romance with mystery + suspense, look no further. This checks all the boxes. And even better than that, an FMC who is no damsel even in distress. Just a badass who has a brain. 😂👌🏼 • So. Good.
I had a good time with this book. Roman and Niamh were quite the pair. I enjoyed their dynamics, especially when all they did was argue and fight with each other. When they still thought they couldn’t stand each other. What can I say, I enjoy a good bickering and the chemistry? 🤭
What I loved the most was the found family trope. It was heartwarming. Silas’ children were so sweet as well. Can’t wait for his book next.
Niamh’s love for animals and the wounded was endearing. Roman’s love for her and her love for him was touching too. He was truly obsessed with his wife.
“Keep looking at me like that and I might let you kiss me again.”
"She is the beginning and the end, and everything in between."
Roman- our MMC who has to get married to get his grandfather's ranch. I don't think I've ever swooned as much as I did with him. Like seriously. 🥹
Niamh- has a mountain of debt after her father's passing and is at risk for losing her bar. She is fierce, guarded, and has the biggest heart.
I love a good fake marriage of convenience trope and the author executed this one perfectly. Going from basically strangers to having the emotions, attraction, and all the feels develop organically. Slowly breaking down walls that have been built. Balanced perfectly with mystery and suspense. This was a real page turner. Every chapter left me wanting more of their growing emotions for one another and also left me wanting answers to solve the suspense and be able to put all the puzzle pieces together.
This slow burn is perfectly paced and filled with a bit of danger and humor. So many cute moments as well which made it heartfelt. The grief journey is always an emotional one. So this was a big rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end. I swooned, laughed, kicked my feet and giggled, my eyes popped, eyes tried to leak. This book accomplished all the things.
This is my first book by this author and I just added every other piece of work to my tbr. Highly recommend! I can't wait for Silas's story!!!! This series is going to be fantastic 😍

Thank you for my ARC I'm leaving this review voluntarily!
Roman needs to find a wife ASAP in order to inherit the ranch that he’s made into what it is from his grandfather who just passed away. If Roman doesn’t find a wife and stay married for 12 months, the ranch goes to his brother who does not want it at all. Niamh is in a ton of debt due to her father’s medical bills becoming her responsibility after he just passed away. She owns a bar that she risks losing because she can’t pay her debts. Roman sets his sights on her to be his contractual wife since he doesn’t want any feelings involved and she seems to hate him. It takes some convincing but she agrees and they get married. Meanwhile there’s a villain of the story just waiting to make his move 😬
Omg 😍 I’m so in love with Niamh & Roman. They’re both so guarded but together they’re perfect and break down the walls they’ve built. Their love story was perfectly paced, not too slow and not too fast. They both had enough depth to them to make them relatable. Roman definitely fell first and hard 😏 the romance was so good and the spice was SPICY 🥵 the dirty talk was 👌 there were a couple scenes that made me tear up. Overall a very good book that was well written 😍
This book was exceptional! These Vowboys are utterly in love with their women and the mouth on Roman? God, even my partner was impressed!!
Roman is set to inherit the family Ranch only to find out his Grandfather had added a clause that he needed to he married or it would go to his brother.
Niamh is quietly drowning in debt and grief after losing her dad and the only thing keeping her going is swimming in the falls no matter rain or shine. They just happen to be on the land the Ranch sits on, making her little hobby a crime. One Roman knows about.
Roman thinks a marriage contract, a payout and living together for 12months will be easy because he's never wanted to settle down but what happens when things get real.
The banter, vulnerability and suspense had me unable to put this down. It's a slowwwww burn but once that match is lit? Amazing!
If I wasn’t in my emotional slow burn romance era, I certainly am now.
Say you need me was so much more than a marriage of convenience, slow burn romance. It had grit. It had a darker edge that completely sucked me in. It was raw. It dug into survival mode, into what it means to be backed into a corner with no good options left, and the emotional cost of carrying everything on your own.
Roman and Niamh were supposed to be a deal: the standard marry, pretend, walk away after twelve months. Simple right? Spoiler alert: it is not simple.
How can it be? Their chemistry is opposite just like them. It’s both effortless and oh so electric. It’s push and pull. And the unspoken tension just shows words aren’t always needed.
If you love angsty romance with heart, heat, and just enough danger to keep you turning pages at 2am, then this one’s definitely for you.
Say You Need Me is the epitome of a cowboy romance, and I absolutely fell in love with Roman and Niamh’s story. What starts as a fake marriage of convenience—agreed upon for just twelve months—quickly becomes so much more. Roman needs a wife to secure ownership of his family’s ranch, while Niamh is drowning in medical debt and desperate to keep both herself and her business afloat. The deal benefits them both… as long as they don’t fall in love.
Spoiler: they do.
As past secrets and looming dangers threaten the life and love theyre building together, the stakes rise in the best possible way.
The romance, suspense, slow burn, and banter Ria Wilde weaves into this story had me hooked from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down—and I cannot wait to read the next book.
He needs a wife. She needs money. Enter: the most dangerously tempting fake marriage ever…because there is nothing pretend about chemistry like this 🤭
Ria Wilde simply does not miss when it comes to cowboy romance. Roman Knight is that cowboy: dominant, filthy rich, powerful enough to ruin you with a single look… and somehow also a big, soft, protective cinnamon roll when it counts. The whiplash from sweet, gentle cowboy to the dirty mouthed, muscle packed menace? Absolutely criminal…and I enjoyed every second of it.
The tension is razor sharp, the banter snaps, and the suspense will have you gripping the sheets for multiple reasons 😮🔥 Add in adorable kittens, a chaotic and hilarious family dynamic, and I was completely sold.
I’m already feral for the next book because I need the next brother immediately. Like… yesterday. 🤠🔥
Marriage of convenience, forced proximity, cowboy romance that I enjoyed reading. Roman is a rancher who’s set to inherit his grandfather’s ranch, but dear old grandfather puts a condition in his will that Roman must marry in order to get the ranch. Niamh is a bar owner who meets Roman in an unusual situation. They both need something from each other and enter into a marriage of convenience..until it’s not. I’d like to thank Ria for the opportunity to read this ARC. And in return am leaving my honest review 🙂
Honest review here ... this book is an absolute disappointment. Ria Wilde is a good author, but this book is not it ... I feel like the plot for this book came from reruns of the Yellowstone television series.
Roman is great, and so are his brothers Silas and Remy, but nothing else in this book is worth reading. The FMC is a twat and the plot is something that's been done repeatedly in other books and extremely cliche.
“I need you, and I want you to need me back. I never knew I needed to be saved until I made you my wife.”
5 ⭐ 3 🌶️
It's been a while since I read a good marriage of convenience romance. Add a dash of forced proximity and the tension had me swooning.
Niamh is desperately trying to hold on to her bar, with mounting debt and overwhelming grief her ever present shadow. Despite that she's armed with a strong independent woman personality and is determined to make it through on her own.
Roman is the gorgeous, wealthy heir of the largest ranch in town. He would much prefer to keep to himself and work his days away on the ranch forever. He isn't looking for any kind of commitment from anyone. There's just one pesky problem. He must get married to officially inherit the ranch.
When they make a deal and are forced together will they give in to the temptation of each other or will that gap be too wide to close?
The tension combined with the 'my wife' trope was fabulous and the underlying mysterious elements had me on the edge of my seat.
What a way to kickstart a series. I cannot wait to devour the other 2.
I’ve spent the last year simply trying to survive but the massive amount of debt to my name and a bar on the brink of collapse, I’m quickly running out of options. ARC Review Fake marriage. Cowboy romance. Small-town vibes? Yeah… I was in immediately. This story follows Niamh who’s barely keeping her life together — crushing debt, a bar on the brink of failure, and zero backup plan. Enter Roman Knight: rich, powerful, emotionally closed-off cowboy and Sunstone Ridge royalty. He needs a wife. She needs money. So they do the most logical thing possible… get married for twelve months and promise not to catch feelings. (You already know how that goes.) I really loved how natural the relationship development felt. The fake marriage slowly turns into real emotions, quiet moments on the ranch, both of their ‘walls’ coming down, and that uh-oh, I’m in trouble realisation when pretending stops being pretend. Roman is the broody cowboy type done right, and his past adds just enough tension to keep things interesting. I loved how once he knew his feelings for Niamh he was all in. His ‘my wife’ moments and filthy mouth - chefs kiss. I connected with Niamh, she’s struggling, still grieving and is so used to being on her own that having Roman and his family around her feels so alien to her, but when she opens herself up to it, it is everything. throw in cute kitten and hilarious kids and this is a heartfelt, romance, easy to sink into, where two broken people find something real when they weren’t looking. I can’t wait for the rest of this series
Uggghh this book had me all in my feels, it’s a rollercoaster ride from start to finish but I absolutely loved every second of it. This was my introduction to cowboy romance and it did not disappoint. A romance book with a little bit of suspense?! And a twist no one saw coming?! YES PLEASE!! I basically devoured this entire book in one sitting, it kept me on edge, I couldn’t put it down.
What better way to start 2026 than with a dirty-talking ranch owner, a strong-willed bar owner with a tendency to trespass, some romantic suspense and a marriage of convenience?
This was my first Ria Wilde book, but will not be my last (I’m already waiting impatiently for the next book in this series to come out, but, as of the day I’m writing this - this book hasn’t even been released yet).
I loved how Roman tried to pretend that the marriage was fake, but that man had it bad for Niamh from the first time he saw her swimming on his land. He was so growly and possessive and everything I love in a book boyfriend.
✅ Dual first person POV ✅ Spicy scenes
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this one!
Cowboy romance with forced proximity, a marriage of convenience, and romantic suspense? Immediately yes.
Did I finish this book in 6 hours? Yep. Did I absolutely devour it and neglect responsibilities? Maaaaaybe..
Niamh is stubborn, strong-willed, and actually stands on what she says. Roman starts off grumpy and emotionally unavailable, but by the end I was fully melted. He definitely gave me major Rip-from-Yellowstone vibes and I will not be arguing about that.
The characters felt relatable, the pacing never dragged and the story kept moving in the best way. She fell… and he fell harder. As he should.
I don’t know how I’ve never come across anything from Ria Wilde before, but that’s about to change. I’ll be diving into her backlist and impatiently waiting for the other Knight brothers’ stories.
This has to be one of the best slow burn cowboy romances I’ve read! These two had such crazy chemistry even though they fought it for way too long. There was no shortage of suspense to go along with all the emotions Roman and Niamh pulled from me. Ria Wilde you are an amazing storyteller and I can’t wait for more!
When you’re left with a marriage ultimatum to keep the one thing you’ve ever really loved, how far do you go? Roman being the commitment phone he is tries to take the easy way out but does that ever really work. A contract marriage turns into something very real along the way if only he can convince Niamh to let her guard down.
