After her mother’s passing, she’s all alone and dreading the holiday season more than anything, but with an annual gingerbread event at her inn looming, she needs to get back into the Christmas spirit, and fast. Luckily for her, a handsome pastry chef is trapped at the inn with her, and Max offers her much more than a little help with a biscuit recipe.

Return to Sunset Cove with author, Sydney Scott as she weaves a holiday tale that romances the season. Fans of Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall or The Christmas Letters by Jenny Proctor will find a new favorite romance in LET IT SNOW.
Max Harris is an English pastry chef who works for his best friend, Louis, a French pastry chef. Louis moved to the US to get away from his family and settled in Sunset Cove. Max is ready to return to England. He'd like to settle down and marry like Louis did, but no one has appealed to him. So he decides to join his extended family in Scotland for Christmas. But a heavy snowstorm halts his train near the small town of Upper Middlewood.
Brent, a rideshare driver and Lucy's best friend, takes him to the Blackthorn Inn, known better to the locals as the Gingerbread Cottage. The inn was founded by Lucy's maternal grandparents after WWII. It was to help bring people back together after the hardships of war, both in England and overseas. If people couldn't pay, they worked various jobs to pay their bill.
A tradition was started that on Christmas Eve everyone in town and surrounding areas was welcomed to come to the inn and decorate gingerbread and enjoy a cup of tea.
Lucy only knows her father's first name, John. Her mother has had an affair with a visiting American who had been traveling through the area. Her mother had been told she had fertility problems and would likely never be able to have children. By the time she realized she was pregnant, John was long gone, and he never even knew about his daughter.
Lucy is now the sole survivor of her family. Her grandparents died several years ago, and she's learned to accept their deaths; after all, they were elderly. However, this is her first Christmas without her mother, who died of an aggressive cancer in January.
This year, Lucy is sure she'll be the one to destroy her family's legacy. She just can't get the gingerbread recipe to work. Max realizes that the recipe is fine but that grief has changed her perception of the gingerbread.
The weather has finally cleared, and Max must continue his travels as planned. Lucy wonders if Max is her version of John...
Only time will tell.

Let It Snow is a heartwarming holiday novella that beautifully blends romance with the healing spirit of Christmas.
When Max is stranded at the Gingerbread Inn during a snowstorm, he finds himself spending time with Lucy, the inn’s owner. Still grieving her mother’s recent passing, Lucy faces her first Christmas with a heavy heart. Yet Max’s unexpected arrival brings comfort, light, and hope.
As the storm rages outside, their connection deepens inside the cozy inn. By the time the skies clear, Max realizes he has discovered more than shelter—he has found a home for his heart.
This tender, uplifting story is perfect for the season. A beautiful holiday read, full of warmth and second chances. Highly recommended.

While I loved the Applewood series, I felt a little let down by this book. Albeit it’s shorter than the ones in the Applewood series, the storyline felt more forced than necessary. It’s okay to have some love at first sight, but the rest of it was too hurried. Still, the story had some really sweet moments, like the sledding scene, the gingerbread house decoration, and the description of scenery. The characters were as endearing as the ones in the previous series, and I always like the small town vibe in Miss Sydney’s books. To sum it up, it was a cute little novel, hopefully we will get some lengthier, and more fulfilling ones in the future.

This is a sweet and cute romance set in the small town of Sunset Cove. The story is about Maxwell, Lucy, serendipity and finding more. Maxwell is an pastry chef who feels like he needs more in his life. Lucy, an inn keeper who has had a challenging year. One snow storm and a bit of gingerbread bring these two together. Sparks fly between these two. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I like how their story develops and their feelings grow to more.
I loved Max and Lucy's story. The story took the time for them to get to know each other during the storm. I kept wondering if it was only going to last for the storm. I am so glad it ended they way it did. A great story.
