When the gods march on Hell, Lucifer does the unthinkable—he hides his grandson in the Rift.
Torn from the fires of the Nine Gates, Aiden awakens in a realm where memory unravels, where stone bleeds and wolves stalk through shadow. Born of dragon, demon, and wolf, he must survive the Rift long enough to become what prophecy never intended— the weapon that could end gods.
Raised by monsters, hunted by kings, and bound by bloodlines older than time, Aiden will forge his destiny in a world without light— where even hope has fangs.
Blood. Fire. Shadow. The Heir of Lucifer has awoken.
AI cover and a single-day KDP upload of an entire back catalog of books from a heretofore unheard-of indie author usually don’t bode well for the human-made authenticity of the contents of said books in this day and age.
In the interest of fairness, I actually reached out to the author to ask what role AI did or didn’t play in crafting his novel. No answer. Not exactly shocking.
The sample didn’t give me a definitive read either way, so I queued up the full book on KU and… well, let’s just say the truth revealed itself fast enough. I hit this gem early on:
“Throne-Script ignited in obsidian, glyphs bleeding crimson light that buzzed against Titan’s teeth.”
Come on, man.
This officially becomes my first DNF of my Goodreads reviewing days. I don’t have the time or inclination to finish a book when the author didn’t have the time or inclination to actually write one.
