Maggie Skerritt Can't Get Away From Weddings...

The fortysomething cop-turned-P.I. has enough on her hands, dodging her mother's plans to turn Maggie's upcoming wedding to partner Bill Malcolm into an 800-guest circus. Then a friend asks them to provide security at the wedding uniting Florida's answer to the Hatfields and McCoys. And to top the week off nicely, they're hired to find a runaway bride - Maggie can empathize! - whose path intersects with a very dead, very murdered body.

Murder always gives Maggie hives. Add that to her own prewedding jitters and a sudden crisis of confidence about her new profession.... Well, suddenly she's thinking that staying single - and becoming a bartender - might be better choices after all....

CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS has loved a good story since she learned to read at the age of three. After years of teaching that love of books to her students, she now enjoys creating stories of her own. Often her books are set in one of her three favorite places—Montana, where she and her husband spent their honeymoon; the mountains of North Carolina, where she has a summer home; or Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s west coast, where she’s lived most of her life.

This is the fourth installment of the Maggie Skerrit series set in fictional Pelican Bay Florida. I love this series! Good plot, fast paced and great sense of place with very real characters. The way Charlotte Douglas describes places and things, you could swear you were right there with Maggie as she goes about tracking a dangerous killer.

Of course I'm a bit prejudiced because the fictional town is based on a very real location just a few miles from where I live. I have actually been in some of the places described in Charlotte Douglas' books so can verify she does a great job describing the area.

Read this series, you will like it!
