I Won't Move

Rate this book
Poorly written and unappealing, this novel should not be read.
It's author (me) intended it to be a psychological trap. But it's too strange, too offensive, and too uninteresting to trap anyone.
It is not science fiction, it is not literature, it is not good. It tells the story of a man who does things, learns things, wants things. But it should all dissolve into nothing.

This book was recommended to me by a very smart person. Unfortunately, I am not a very smart person so when I received the hard-bound book and started reading, I found myself confused, and the story hard to follow. I put the book to the side and purchased the kindle version. Now it was much easier to follow, and I found myself using the built in dictionary quite a bit. This book has science fiction and a lot of philosophy (even talking about great philosophers who were real people). I think the author has a fantastic sense of humor and found myself smiling and even laughing at parts of the book, when the narrator is speaking.

The style was very different from what I have read in the past. The person who is the narrator was the actual author, not another character in the book, which I found fascinating. I don't know if this is common in SF, but it was a great way to write the book. The only place I had issues with is knowing whether it is Michael (author) speaking or George (protagonist), but once I got the hang of it I found it easier to read. Did the author actually send this work to an agent who turned him down? I don't know. But I have found that the top selling books do nothing for me (I don't even read Stephen King anymore!) I really love self published books. I have thousands of them in my "to read" file, and they are all self published. I rarely come across any that I don't like. I hope Mr. Foster doesn't give up on his writing, I would love to read some more of his work, either in this genre or another.
