An absolute threat to any Made man. A legend in the flesh. A monster in blood. Konstantin Volkov has been living out his life sentence in hopes of one day escaping. By chance, he was granted his freedom by an anonymous ally. He holds the secrets of dead men and awaits to collect his debts. However with former enemies following him he has to be careful of his tracks. Leading him straight into the arms of an irresistible woman.
Beautiful, resilient, and vivacious Blair Morgan is an enigma. Running away from her past and going to the Saint Maria Convent felt like the only way to redemption. With her stained hands and a precious gift she has to hide she finds comfort in her decision to live a devoted sinless life. However the infamous criminal and mobster barging in her life and ruining her plan was the one thing she didnrcounted for. For better or worse, she must deal with him before her final initiation. Their lives and secrets are tied, with nowhere to run to, how far will temptation go?
Believing the myths and tales of stories once told, Bree has always looked up to the stars and dreamed. A New Jersey naïve, she loves the chaotic city and long walks on the beach. Committed to making her characters come to life through her books, she loves to write tragically beautiful stories. Between fantasizing all day and watching anime, you can find her crying over characters’ deaths and obsessing over fictional boyfriends.
When she is not caught up in her multiple writing projects, Bree is working and maintains a healthy social life without any caffeine. Sorry coffee lovers, she prefers tea and chocolate.
3.5 ⭐️ this was a fun quick read. Instead of the priest who’s tempted by a drop dead gorgeous woman, we have a soon to be nun who gets entangled with a criminal and the temptation is real.
This book was fun to read. Ultimately, it wasn’t what I was expecting from a soon to be nun/criminal on the run (not in a bad way), I still appreciated the story and, honestly, the second prologue hinting at other books in a fantasy setting spoke to me. Like hello??
The fmc as I said is still in training, and therefore she doesn’t know if that’s what she wants, as the true reason for her being there isn’t faith related. So when a gorgeous, darkly sensual criminal seeks refuge in her convent chambers, his reflections bring forth her own doubts.
It was interesting to read about a mmc who’s got 2 personalities in him, I haven’t read many books with that mental state.
I was surprised by the spice, I thought it would be more spicy, but it’s alright! Our couple was actually quite tender, despite their upbringing.
Thanks so much to Bree Voltaire for the arc! I’m curious about the sequel.
Konstantin Volkov was a man of both terror and power until he misjudged his chances of winning and found himself imprisoned on the Italian coast. During his stay, he receives two significant visits: one offering him the opportunity to escape and the other providing him with a reason to remain in the area👀
Blair Morgan has committed many sins in her life, and the last one almost took away her only reason for living. That's why she decided to abandon that glimmer of light and run as far away as possible — giving an innocent person the chance to save themselves and stay safe.
But, as usual, even the bravest decisions fail when fate ties her to one of the Russian mafia's most wanted criminals.
Will her attempt at redemption succeed, or will she succumb to the oldest sin in the world?
I must say that I expected more tension and 'padding'. It's not that I didn't like the story, but the FMC's change of heart was quite predictable, unlike the behaviour of the dark and handsome MMC. I hope to read more by this author because, with a few tweaks to the plot, it could have been a more exciting and emotional read❤️🔥
I got this ARC about 3 days (more like 2) before the release so I was in a bit of a crunch to get through this as fast as I could. I accidentally had overloaded my plate with a few ARCs and of course, it’s the holiday season (uber busy).
I was a bit confused by the supernatural elements that popped up. It was kinda just *BOOM* there all of a sudden and then not really discussed again untilI believe the second epilogue. It ended on a note that opens to a whole underground world. I guess a different book is tied into this a wee bit but it was also in the second epilogue. It came out in that second epilogue like 3 different plot twists just kinda thrown in there right before the end.
I did really love the premise of the nun x criminal. I’ve seen a lot of the priest x ___ that shows up so that was fun to read. I did really enjoy the chemistry between Konstanin and Blair with the situation that they were kinda put in. The overall story I really enjoyed and maybe I’ll take the time later on to really reread it and analyze it.
Sins and Virtue by Bree Voltaire was an addictive, fun read that kept me hooked from start to finish. The writing is strong, the characters are compelling, and the mental health representation is handled thoughtfully.
The story follows Konstantin Volkov, a convicted criminal seeking asylum, and Blair, a nun on the brink of taking her final vows. Their chemistry is immediate and intense, full of witty, engaging banter. The romance is a slow burn, with spice toward the end that is absolutely worth the wait.
Konstantin and Blair feel perfectly matched—dark, complex, and deeply drawn to one another despite every reason not to be.
If you love morally complex characters and high-stakes romance, this book will not disappoint.
Sins and Virtue is one of the most provocative and emotionally charged reads I’ve experienced. The duality of faith and sin, of captivity and desire, is woven through every page.
Blair Morgan, seeking peace in the convent, and Konstantin Volkov, a legendary convict freed by mysterious means, their worlds shouldn’t collide. Yet they do. Hard. The power dynamic, the age gap, the hostage context, all handled with tension and rawness.
I loved the way the novel confronts faith, guilt, and redemption in a deeply human way. The chemistry between Blair and Konstantin, dangerous, forbidden, magnetic. The emotional stakes and the blurred lines of morality.
If you’re looking for a romance that challenges as much as it consumes, this is it.
A well-written book, fluid writing and easy to understand. The story is well constructed and it is a book worth reading. Is a very slow burn, which makes us want to give with the crucifix in Blair's head, but is very worth reading! Blair is a real ragged cat, a character full of life and quite funny. Konstantin has my heart.. he is a real cutie!! I loved it!! Congratulations to the author and congratulations on the artwork! 💕
I received this as an ARC, and this is my honest opinion. I loved this book! It was hard to put down and get back to being an adult. The dynamic and wit between Blair and Konstanin was terrific. This was a slow burn, but spicy in the end, and definitely worth the wait. This was a fun, different kind of story, one I didn't expect, with a woman waiting to take her final vows at a nunnery. I definitely recommend this book, and I can't wait to see what else Bree comes up with!
ARC REVIEW. This book was mafia and nun FUN. Seriously, Kon ( our MMC) is a disgraced made man and now a prisoner and he meets our FMC Blair who’s a nun and has some secrets and a past she’s running from to keep someone who’s precious to her safe. Kon is unhinged and will do anything to keep Blair and we love a possessive, who did this to you MMC. Book has a HEA, and an epilogue that leaves room for future books! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the spice was SPICY.🌶️
Im stumped at what I want to say... this wasn't what I thought, it kept me on my toes, so much more than I thought this book was going to be. I was taken on a journey with Kon and BIair. I don't want to say much, so others can read going in blind but maybe check your triggers as this is heavily religious based, and with that come questions of morality
I enjoyed the story, by the end I wanted more and hope there is another instalment
I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book. This book is so good, I couldn’t wait to finish! Konstantin is a convict who seeks asylum, and Blair is a nun who is about to take her final vows. They both have secrets and a past that could drown them, but what would happen if they used each other to stay above water?
I can’t wait for more people to meet these characters!
This book was quite different from what I expected. They both have a dark past that impacts their initial interactions and trust in each other until they finally commit. I’m intrigued to see where the next book heads since this was primarily about the relationship and not as much the action or the magic/fantasy piece. I also hope we get a steamy scene with Blair and Dya in book two!
Sins and virtue is a perfectly written story of unlikely slow burn love where both parties have a shady past. Perfect read for fans of Sierra Simone’s books! It definitely has a “but we shouldn’t” vibe all the way through and I just gobbled it up.
