Fun travels with wild scenarios. Lucky Linda survived it all with lifelong memories to cherish. Her spirit never dampened to keep traveling on. Earthquakes, whew! Lockdowns, she got out. Hanging on in a tunnel and saw the ray of light. A nurse appears after being knocked down. Ouch! 5 guns in a caravan, horrors but worked out. Hugh dog pees on her on seat next to her on plane. She made it thru horrible turbulence, but she held on in the bathroom. In her words; “ Speak up when you know something is wrong. And stand up for your rights. You just never know what you’ll receive.” I’m sure her other books are a blast and a Take off to other landings.
This is Linda’s fourth book in the Antics from Abroad series. There’s more adventures with Linda experiencing earthquakes in the South Pacific. Who knew that was your bedtime activity when you booked to stay! Travels to Asia, America, Australia and Europe are full of mishaps, a plane load, happening on that same mode of transport. How unfortunate to have two on the seat next to you! I am not sure how Linda or us, the reader on our own travels can avoid such mishaps. But I think that Linda has had more than her fair share. Amusing and entertaining. Recommend. Enjoy!

Antics from Abroad is a charming, lighthearted escape that feels like swapping travel stories with a friend who always finds herself in the most unexpected situations. Linda King brings humor, honesty, and just the right amount of chaos to every page, making the journey feel both relatable and wonderfully unpredictable.
I loved how each chapter revealed a new cultural surprise or travel mishap, yet always returned to that underlying theme of growth through adventure. A few sections moved a little quickly, but overall, the energy and personality more than make up for it. I have never quite experienced any inflight mishaps. I will remember never to visit Vanuatu. Im also not fond of Heathrow Airport, chaotic mess, all the shops, I could not find our gate.
If you enjoy travel tales filled with humor, misadventures, and heart, this book is definitely worth the read. Linda King shows that sometimes the best memories come from the moments that don’t go as planned—and that’s exactly what makes Antics from Abroad such a fun and engaging journey.
Linda’s traveled farther than most people ever will in their lifetime and this fourth book depicts even more of her wacky, embarrassing, nerve-wracking, and hilarious adventures abroad. Experiencing an earthquake in the South Pacific and getting locked in a shopping mall in the Philippines, or having a dog pee on the plane seat next to her. Linda has seen her fair share. This book is written with such spark and humor. Even her scariest stories are told with her special charm, making you laugh aloud and think, “Yeah, should’ve seen that coming in hindsight.” And urging you what not to do on trips abroad. Reading this series has been like trading stories with that one friend who trouble always seems to find. As she writes herself, “You just never know what you’ll receive.” And that makes reading this tales so much fun.
Reading this book feels like sharing a hotel room with that endlessly chatty friend who always has just one more story to tell. And honestly? It’s delightful. The author recounts her travel adventures with such spark and humor that you can’t help but lean in, laugh, and think, “Yep… I’ve been there.”
Some of her stories are downright scary, the kind you pray will never happen to you, but thankfully, everything turns out well in the end. As Linda King writes, “Travel is a big blessing, even in its frightening moments. The worst experiences sometimes make for the best stories.” Warm, funny, and so true-to-life.
Reading this book is like talking to an experienced traveler while waiting for your flight at an airport. You cannot believe some of the stories you hear, and you laugh at the funny ones and cringe at the alarming and dangerous ones. This is a short and easy read useful for passing time while traveling.
Humorous take on traveling around the world. First of all, I want to live like Linda King. She has some incredible times on her adventures. There are silly times - the large support dog on the plane. Harrowing ordeals - locked in a mall for hours. And fun along the way. Second, Ms. King knows how to get what she wants. I want to travel with her on her next adventure.
Things always seem many times scarier when they happen thousands of miles from home, and you're surrounded by people you don't know. If you'd like to ease yourself into the high-stress world of international travel, this is a good place to start. The author gets around, sees a lot, and is able to relate it to us pretty well.
