Phoenix Ridge Medical #7

Beneath Her Hands

Rate this book
A new surgeon. A blazing argument. A spark she can’t scrub away.

Welcome to Phoenix Ridge Hospital where women run the wards, save lives under pressure, and occasionally fall for the one person guaranteed to drive them mad. This is the heart of the Phoenix Ridge Medical series—a place where medicine meets passion, trauma meets healing, and every romance bleeds a little truth. Beneath her Hands is an Enemies to Lovers Ice Queen Romance.

Dr. Rosalind Maxwell survived war zones as a trauma surgeon in the Army. Nothing shakes her—until she returns home to to care for her ailing father and collides with Dr. Jane Roberts, the infuriatingly gorgeous ER lead who believes Rosalind’s battlefield style doesn’t belong in her hospital.

When a multi-car crash floods the ER, their tempers ignite and their chemistry explodes under surgical lights. Between adrenaline, exhaustion, and undeniable attraction, the line between rivalry and desire blurs—and the only thing harder than saving lives might be learning how to let someone in.

In Phoenix Ridge, saving lives is easy—the hard part is letting someone save you.

Trauma, fear, pain and love! Holy smokes this is heat delivered!

Emily Hayes is a magician bringing these two surgeon’s together to heal all my needs. This story is filled with tension, between unimaginable disasters, memories of war injuries, and how people react. Sensitive to pain on many levels MS Hayes brings us through the chaos to a happy ending in the mountains of South America.

This one surprised me in such a good way.

Okay so I didn't expect so many feelings with this book but dang Emily brought all the feels. I felt as hot and cold and emotional as Jane in this story!
Well done and another great read for Phoenix Ridge. I love Josephine Mars is still there. Please don't move her on, hers and Ember's story is still one of my favourites 💜

Medical Spice

Emily Hayes’ Phoenix Ridge Medical series is full of spice, angst and love. Watching Rosalind and Jane fall in love and overcome their issues was a treat. I loved the solution to have best of both worlds.

I didn't really like the stereotypical start to the story, but once it got going it was actually a quick read for me and I really enjoyed the back and forth arguments and eventual realization that they can be together. The middle part almost had me quit the story all together, but I'm glad I read until the ending because the ending was a nice diversion from the standard kind of "Enemy to lover" romance trope. It really was a nice ending for them and very fitting for where they would be two years later.
